Premiere CS6 Export Settings Forgotten

I never had this problem with CS5.5, but now in CS6, every time I go to export a video, it doesn't remember the previous settings I used. I use the same export settings for everything, so it was really helpful in CS5.5 that it would retain those settings automatically without me having to manually select a preset. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm having the same issue. I use a h.264 export setting, but whenever I open a new project or re-open a saved one, it reverts back to the AVI container group of presets...
NB: Fresh win7 instal and updated CS6 (trial)

  • Why wont premiere CS6 export .mp4's?

why wont premiere CS6 export .mp4's?  Everytime i try to export h264 mp4's the final export is an unrecognizable .m4v file.
I read about this 'bug' in a thread started over 8 months ago,  and read that the 'work around' is to export with audio on. (my videos have no audio channels, so why would i want to save them and make them larger, by encoding them with audio?)
I am preparing to switch from Final Cut 7, to Premiere Pro, but i'm concerned to do so as this bug apparnetly was never fixed by adobe, almost a year later.  There seems to be no way to encode an .mp4 without audio using Premiere Pro CS6 or Media Encoder CS6.  Is there any kind of patch or another way to export .mp4's?
    thanks.

That is exactly my point!  Why should I have to export an audio channel and increase the file size to work around a known bug of the software...
We export about 100 videos a day and it will add up.  These are files that will be online, and size is an issue.
I'm just not sure that we'll want to invest in software with a known bug that hasn't been addressed after months.
I was hoping that maybe there was a patch or update that I haven't found yet.  Thanks all.

  • CS4 Premiere Pro EXPORT settings for embedding videos in PDF

I am trying to embed a few short videos into a PDF ebook and my PDF file size is massive.  I want the videos to still look good quality as I put a lot of effort into making high quality videos for my ebook.
Does anybody have any advice for export settings in Premiere Pro for the use in PDF documents?  I've played around with the various preloaded export settings but I'm wondering if I can customize the settings to look good in a PDF.
(I realize Acrobat will convert the video into flash for consistent play-black)
(And not sure if this matters but my current videos are 60fps 1280 x 720 HD shot with a Canon 7D)
All advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Unfortunately, you have posted to the Pr (the precursor to PrPro) forum, so you'll likely not get as much traffic for your thread, as you would in the PrPro forum. Maybe our tireless MOD's can move it out for you, so you'll get more "eyes." Here is the Adobe Premiere Pro Forum.

  • Premiere CS6 export taking forever...

    hey friends-
i'm new to premiere. i've been a FCP (not X) guy til recently. i've always edited on a macbook pro (intel7, 8G RAM, 2.66GHz) and had no issues with export time in FC. exporting a straight, 1hr clip (1920x1080) is taking anywhere from 3-8 hours if i don't use match sequence settings (H.264 codec, VBR 1 pass, otherwise default settings). if i choose to match sequence settings, it takes an hour, which is still too long in my opinion. i have 6GB of ram dedicated to premiere and no other programs running. is this normal or am i doing something wrong or ??? thanks...

What are you editing, and what are you exporting?

  • Premiere CS6 exporting AAF for Smoke on Mac

I have been trying to export a sequence from CS6 for Smoke on Mac.
The problem has been the paths to where the media is located is incorrect. It is point to the folder where the audio is for that clip and not the video.
When I check the metadata tab, it all looks fine there.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I had the exact same problem with Premiere Pro CS6 (running in 30 days trail mode), but on a Macbook Pro (64bit kernel, 8GB mem, 2010 Macbook Pro,  Mac OS X Lion). See http://forums.adobe.com/message/4380045

  • Effects missing from Premiere CS6 export

Anyone had this issue with Premiere/After Effects CS6 ... Any effects I apply don't export when I export from Premiere. It worked fine on my other PC. Even after effects effects will export from after effects but are ignored when used as an embedded clip in Premiere. This includes third party and premiere effects. Fades and editing work, but not color grading. It shows in the previews and even in the media encoder window, but not in the final FLV or AVI.
No changes to operating system or 64 bit etc. And I'm using an nVidia GeForce 650 GTX card with 4000 MB ram on the card and 32000 MB ram on my motherboard.
GPU rendering isn't on since it's grayed out. Anyone know why, while we are on the topic.

  • Ideal Premiere Pro export settings BEFORE compressor

I'm editing with Premiere Pro these days... I've currently been exporting 1080p h.264 mov files in order to put them into compressor ad have compressor do it's thing to make them internet ready.
Is there an "ideal" setting that I should be using BEFORE I send my videos to compressor?
I'm trying to figure out why compressor is adding ghost frames to the beginning of my videos (when they don't exist before conversion) and I'm wondering if it might have to do with the initial video setting that compressor is trying to work with.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    ---Trav

Some would consider H.264 is already "internet ready".
What other changes are you making?
fwiw - even in PP I edit in ProRes and export a self-contained master file. Then I use that file in Compressor to do conversions to delivery formats.

  • Can someone help with Premiere CS6 Export Presets?

I'm exporting video using a Mac, OS X 10.8.2 and I want to be sure Windows users will be able to play the video on their desktop, most likely using Windows Media player.
I didn't see a preset for .WMV format and I don't have a windows machine to test various presets.
    Thanks for your help.

Use H.264 .MP4 video - plays in webbrowser plays with quicktime plays with windows media player...

  • CS6 Export Settings for Apple Pro Res 422 HQ

My project is 1920 x 1080 (1.0) 23.976 fps, progressive and my special effects guy is asking for the project to be rendered out to Apple Pro Res 422 HQ. I can not find an export setting that offers 23.976 fps and is progressive. I have offered to give him an "XML" file but he is insistant. What can I do?

I believe you will only find this option on a Mac that has ProRes installed from some other application, like QuickTime Pro or Final Cut.

  • Premiere pro CS6 export to DVD

    Hi,
I have recently edited a film on premiere pro CS6 and it's all set to be exported. The film was shot with a 5D mark 3 @ 1920 x 1080, 24 fps. The timeline is about 160 minutes long. I have to export this to a DVD (like a classic DVD feature film with menus, subtitles etc). What export settings on premiere should I choose? I tried exporting in the .avi format but I'm getting horizontal lines (interlaced scanning) which is strange because I remember selecting the 'progressive scan' option.
I saw a video where this guy says adobe encoder is unable to resize HD videos into DVD (720x480) format succsessfully so he uses TMPGEnc video mastering to resize it before sending it to Encore.
Is TMPGEnc the only way around to this solution? Or is there something about premiere pro export settings that guy didn't know about, which probably the wise ones here can tell me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kola

Thanks a lot Ann and Jim. You both being veterans on this forum I think I'm going to try both the methods starting with Ann's workflow. I've already started the export process and it says it's encoding it. This is what I've been seeing for the last 10 minutes:
I know you said the render bar won't show, but, here there is a bar only with no progress at all. Is this what you meant? Also, why is the CPU usage at 2% and RAM Usage at 19% when during encoding both figures hit the 50% - 60% mark?
So anyway, I closed the window and try again and this time it returned me an error, which basically crashes premiere:
Once again, I'm using premiere pro CC. Has this workflow been tried with CC?
Jim, I tried your method too. I referred to this page: http://neuron2.net/www.math.berkeley.edu/benrg/avisynth-premiere.html
I did exactly what it suggested, dropped the suggested .prm into the plugins folder. The first time I went to program > adobe > premiere cc > plug ins > common and then dropped the file there and opened premiere cc and went to export but under no option I get a 'link to avisynth' as filetype option. So then I go to program > adobe > common > plug ins > 7.0 > media core and I dump the .prm file there. I restart premiere and then go to export, same thing.
why are things so unnecessarily complicated and the ones which are not return error? This is so frustrating, I'm going crazy here. Please help, you guys.

  • Camtasia Poor Quality in Premiere CS4 Export

I am a PC user. One of my clients uses Mac and Camtasia to screen capture his software program, which I need to integrate into a video I am making for his company. The MP4 Camptasia file he sends me looks good. I bring the file into Premiere to edit it, but when I export it, the clip done with Camtasia has very poor quality, while the footage I shot with my video camera looks great.
    Specs:
    Camera: HMC40, PH mode 1080/60i (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression).
    PC: i7 quad-core 64-bit running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, 8 GB RAM.
Editor: Premiere CS4 in the Adobe CS4 Master Collection .
New Sequence setup in Premiere: AVCHD > 1080i > AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) Anamorphic.
    Premiere’s export settings:
    Format: MPEG2
Preset: HDTV 1080p 29.97 High Quality
Multiplexer tab > Bitrate and Buffering Details: Variable
Video Tab > Basic Video Settings > Quality: 5
    Field Order > None (progressive)
    Profile > Main
Bitrate Settings: Bitrate Encoding: VBR 2Pass
      Minimum Bitrate: 4 (default)
      Target Bitrate: 15 (default)
      Maximum Bitrate: 18.5 (default)
    GOP Settings > M Frames: 3 (default)
      N Frames: 15 (default)
Output summary: NTSC, 1920X1080, 29.97 drop frame (fps), Progressive, Quality 5.0
Note in general: I found that if I set the Bitrate Encoding at VBR 1Pass, I got glitches sporadically.Using VBR 2Pass has solved this.
My question about the Camtasia clip:
    1) How can I get the Camtasia footage to be as sharp in the export as in the original?
    Other questions in general:
    2) Are my New Sequence setting in Premiere correct? AVCHD > 1080i > AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) Anamorphic
    3) Is my choice to export as MPEG2, HDTV 1080p 29.97 High Quality preset, the best for the footage I shoot?
    4) Is my choice to set the Multiplexer tab > Bitrate and Buffering Details at ‘Variable’ the best?
    5) Do my Bitrate and GOP settings need adjustment?
    6) Should my Export field order be Upper instead of Progressive?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    The frame rate is 1038 X 882
That is a very odd frame size, and one that probably won't work well no matter what workflow you use.  You asked:
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
how could he better capture and export to match my workflow?
Have him capture and export to match your desired export frame size for the finished project.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
How would you suggest I change my workflow to handle the interlaced and progressive issue?
I can't answer that until I know exactly how you intend to deliver your finished video.  Any answers to your other questions will also likely depend on your intended delivery format and media.

  • Right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6, video with still images

I am trying to run a video on my website (self hosted). This video, made with Premiere Pro CS6, consists of still images with different video effects.
This video is only 50 seconds, but when I transform this in the ogg, webm and mp4 format, I obtain file with large size and the quality is not good.
Could you please guide me to find out the right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6 to obtain a video for the best possible quality on the web?
A precise description of the settings would be awesome.
    Thank you
    Silvia

Make the export setting the resolution you want to use on the web.
Make the sequence settings accordantly to these export settings

  • Premiere CS6 does not remember some settings when saving custom export presets.

When I save a custom export preset in the export window, some settings are not remembered, and I need to change them every time again and again! The settings so far I found to not be saved are:
    Key frame every ... frames
    Limit data rate to ...

    Interesting...
When I create and save an a H.264 QT preset
using the Export Settings dialog from within Premiere,
it does not save the key frame interval or max bitrate.
However, when I create a H.264 QT preset from within
Media Encoder and save... the missing settings are saved
and can be recalled from within the Premiere Export Settings dialog.
    EDIT:
Re-tested this a bit more, and now the kf interval & max bitrate are
being saved with the presets created in Premiere Export Settings dialog.
Odd... my first 2 tries didn't take?

  • CS6 Exporter Plugin doesn't open in Premiere Elements 11 (Windows)

I want to make my (Windows) exporter-plugin compatible with Premeire Elements 11.
So far, I have been gotten my exporter-plugin to appear in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and Media Encoder CS6, and the plugin runs there correctly.
I then followed the directions for running Premeire CS6 to create an export a preset file (*.epr).  I copied copied  that exported *.epr file to "OTHERS/MyCompany/MyPreset.epr" in my Premere 11 [App installation folder].  (As well as copying the plugin-binary *.prm to Plug-ins/common
In the <Publish:Share> tab, when I use the mouse to highlight 'OTHERS', I receive an error-dialog-box :
"Premiere Elements has encountered an error.
    [..\..\Src\Exporter_Accessors.cpp-213]"   [Continue]
After I click continue, I don't get the dialog-box for my exporter-plugin.  In the <Publish:Share> tab, I now see the warning-triangle and some text next to it: "Export Settings Invalid"

Hmm, I forgot about using Visual Studio's debugger.  After some debugging, the error was triggered the first time the SDK_Exporter plugin called anything involving the <exportParamSuite>.
After a little more digging, I found that Adobe Premiere Elements 11 doesn't support the latest version of the exportParamSuite (kPrSDKExportParamSuiteVersion4).
In the CS6 SDK sample project SDK_Exporter, the function exSDKBeginInstance() grabs all of the suiteAPIs.  The following call fails:
         spError = spBasic->AcquireSuite(
             kPrSDKExportParamSuite,
kPrSDKExportParamSuiteVersion, // CS6 supports v4,  but crashes in Premiere Elements 11
             const_cast<const void**>(reinterpret_cast<void**>(&(mySettings->exportParamSuite))));
The original-call returns an spError code of <kSPSuiteNotFoundError>, which is actually misleading. I changed the version-argument to v3, and the error-call went away.
         spError = spBasic->AcquireSuite(
             kPrSDKExportParamSuite,
             kPrSDKMemoryManagerSuiteVersion3, // compatible with Premiere Elements 11
             const_cast<const void**>(reinterpret_cast<void**>(&(mySettings->exportParamSuite))));
so it looks like Premiere Pro CS6 SDK's sample SDK_Exporter project requires a few tweaks to run with Premiere elements 11.

  • Music slightly out of sync when exporting in Premiere CS6, format problem?

Hi guys, i have a quick question.
I edited together a promo for a local band and everything is perfect in the sequence as far as being on point with the music at certain beats and such. However when I export it the music is slightly out of sync, which is bad when you edited everything specificly to the song. I am not using ANY audio from the footage but instead layed a music track over everything. I'm not sure what else to do, could it be a format problem? I am using h.264 (see below), but would AVI or anything else work better? any help is appreciated thank you!
I am exporting directly from inside Premiere CS6 using a custom H.264 preset. 24fps, VBR 2 pass encoding. Target 7MB, Max 11MB. (with render at maxium bit depth, and render at highest quaility selected.)
I put the audio settings to high, 320kbs AAC format.
I use a custom built PC with an i7-3770K, 32 GB RAM, and I exported to a 120GB SSD.
Any other info you need just ask.any types for uploading to vimeo so it doesn't get out of sync there? thank you in advance!
Also, any types for uploading to vimeo so it doesn't get out of sync there? thank you in advance!

    Hi,
I dont think that you will really get a problem while exporting in any of the given formats. But i would really like to check if the audio layer is exactly same as of the video. for eg - if my audio is 00:05:30 and my video is 00:05:20 , we might face issue with the sync.
We can try to put more black video to make it a match with the audio and then try to export.
Where do you have the media files , on a internal drive like c: or desktop? In case not , try to move the media files to desktop and then try to export.
Also instead of exporting the files to your 120GB SSD , try to export it on the desktop.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks
