Premiere CS6 Not Detecting Camera in 'Capture' Menu
Hey,
I'm using a Panasonic DVX 100B for a project. I recently bought a FireWire connection that's compatible with my PC, but when I set my camera to VCR mode, my Premiere doesn't seem to recognize it as a capture device. Any suggestions?

Bridge CS6 not showing Camera Raw adjustments
I am wanting the adjustments I've made in Camera Raw to show on the thumbnailed images in Bridge CS6, but after I've made the adjustments in CR, it still shows the original/uncorrected image in Bridge. Help?
Also, I am wanting to copy+paste the adjustments I've made in Camera Raw from one image to the next, but "Develope Settings ---> Copy Settings" is not highlited in the Bridge menu for me to do so. Neither is it showing any option to do so when I right click on the images.
Thanks!APhotography wrote:
The thumbails are not embedded, and the raw images are highlighted.
Embedded thumbnails are included in the raw file from cameras. Question, as Curt Y wrote in reply #1, is whether you are viewing these embedded from-camera thumbnails or viewing bridge-generated hi quality thumbnails.
What thumbnail quality have you selected in the 'Options For Thumbnail Quality And Preview Generation' button in the Adobe Bridge application bar? Should be Always High Quality (or possibly High Quality On Demand). If the selection is set to 'Prefer Embedded (Faster)' you will not see the camera raw changes in the Bridge Content thumbnail images. Check this selection in your laptop and see if it is same as in your desktop. -
WVC210 Device manger does not detect camera driver
Hi, Iam doing a java application project which captures a vedio from linksys wvc210 network camera, the problem is the device manager does not detect the camera as one of the imaging devices or as any, and so the jmf registry editor does not also detect the camera in which i am stuck on how to make java detect it and work on it which is impossible without being detected with the jmf registry so i need windows first to detect it at the device manager which will lead jmf registry editor to also detect it.
note that: the camera installation worked properly and i can access it normally. by the way iam using windows vista.
any help please...First of all, thanks for ur reply, i will state the problem again: iam doing a java api application using the java media framework (JMF), the application goal is to capture a vedio from the ip camera, the application is done and works with my web cam which is detected by the java capture device manager, on the other hand the capture device manager does not detect the ip camera as one of the captured device in which i can't run my application on it. So the easiet way is to make windows detect it as one of the devices at the device manager so java capture device manager can detect it and my application will work immediatly. any suggestions ?

Premiere CS6 not opening in OS X 10.9.1 Mavericks.
Hey guys. I'm so tired at this point...I spent almost two working days trying to make AE and Premiere work after updating OS X yesterday to 10.9.1.
AE works, but Premiere CS6 doesn't even open. It starts but then I get the beach ball and after several minutes it crashes. I don't know what elese to do. I've done every "trick" I've seen in previous posts but the same keeps happening.
Here are some of my MBP especifications:
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
The Premiere version I have is 6.0.0.
Thanks in advance!!!Go to http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere and, in the area just under Ask a Question, type in

or

You may now read previous discussions on this subject... be sure to click the See More Results at the bottom of the initial, short list if the initial list does not answer your question
I am Windows so did not bookmark the messages, but I have seen SOME message threads with SOME solutions for SOME mavericks problems
Also... is there some specific reason you have not updated your CS6?
And... 10.9 is not supported (at least for Encore, and I would guess the same for PPro) as described in the FAQ

Premiere CS6 not supporting AVC-G25/50P will there be an update for that?
Good morning Adobe,
I own a Panasonic AJ-PX270 with the P2 content format. I filmed using the AVC-G25/50P format, but that is not supported when i want to import the file structure into my Premiere CS6 it gives me a standard error.
Does anyone know what file format i have to use in my sequence to get this imported?
Will there be an update for this?
I have also asked Panasonic to provide me a solution, haven't heard from them.
Perhaps someone knows how i can convert the files into another file format outside of premiere?
thank you very much!
Ruud van den EindenYes, it's Java update 16 for Mac OS 10.6 that broke lots of stuff. The 51 comes from it updating Java to 1.6_51. There is an update to the update for 10.7 and up posted, but is there one for 10.6?
UPDATE: Never mind. If you go to the download page for Java update 16, it appears that it has been silently updated. Although there isn't any indication of the fact that it has been fixed, the build number is different (20.51-b01-457 instead of -456). -
Premiere CS6 not playing Cineform files
I'm having some problems in a cineform based project. I am just using stock Premiere CS6 and have Cineform Studio premium installed. I use a 2008 mac Pro, 24gb RAM, stock cheapest nvidia card (not CUDA compatible), with Lion installed. I think that my sequence settings are set to DSLR quality matching the resolution of the cineform files. There is a chance that they are Desktop sequences though. I started this project a while back on CS5 and made my sequences there.
The problem is that 2 out of 3 times that I open Premiere, the timeline clip thumbnails dont draw and when I playback the program monitor is black. Audio is playing back ok, but the cineform clips on the timeline dont work. If I try to open a clip in the source monitor, it updates the file in the project bin to show "Media offline". The media is definitely there and in the Premiere is linking to. If I try to close Premiere after experiencing the above it won't close and I have to force close it. Only a system reboot will make Premiere open correctly after that.
There are times when the project opens just fine though. I can't see a pattern. If it were a Cineform problem then I wouldnt expect Premiere to be crashing like it is. That is why I am reporting it here.My apologies ODANO. I admire you wanting to help others out
I spent an hour on the phone trouble shooting this problem with the programmers about 8 months ago. They assured me they would fix it and get back in touch with me. They never fixed it and never got back in touch with me. I had to contact them and complain about the problem a second time 8 moths later and they just have ignored the situation completely. They are a very amateur operation which has now been absorbed into Go Pro. I advise any serious professionals to avoid Cineform and use DNxHD.
My frustration with Cineform in no way reflects upon you. Have a good day

Skype is not detecting my camera, even though it is working just fine. I tried using my camera with webcamtoy and it had no trouble at all. I have also used this same camera before with skype, with no problems, a long time ago (about 1 year and a half), but for some reason it is not working now. My laptop is an Asus K53sv, and the camera is the one that comes integrated with it, a 0.3 Mega Pixel Fixed web camera. Can someone help me please? I would like to be able to use video calls without having to buy a new camera...

Unfortunately there is no Skype version available that will work with video on your computer. You have an old CPU without support for the SSE2 instruction set. SSE2 is now an absolute requirement for video being enabled on Skype.

Premiere CS6 not running smoothly.
Alright all, I'm stumped. I was running Premiere CS6 via the Cloud membership, everything was going perfectly, I had started new projects and even transferred one over I was using in CS5.5 and had no problems. Then suddenly, my CS6 is not running smoothly. The footage lags, the timecode for the timeline isn't smooth, and the program in general is a little rough. But the sound plays perfect with any footage in the timeline. I pull the same footage back in 5.5 and it works flawlessly. Cleaned the Cache, deleted and reinstalled CS6 and ran all updates, still having the same problem. Any ideas?
>have 1 500gb SATA drive, but I also use a variety of External HD as a scratch
eSata or USB or ??? externals?
Slow external drives can cause problems... also only having one internal hard drive
Some reading...
My 3 hard drives for AVCHD video editing are configured as...
1 - 320Gig Boot for Win7 64bit Pro and ALL program installs (2)
2 - 320Gig data for Win7 paging swap file and video project files
When I create a project on #2 drive, the various work files follow,
so my boot drive is not used for the media cache folders and files
3 - 1Terabyte data for all video files... input & output files (1)
(1) for faster input/output with 4 drives
- use drive 3 for all source files
- use drive 4 for all output files
(2) only 60Gig used, for Win7 & CS5 MC & MS Office & other smaller programs
Search Microsoft to find out how to redirect your Windows paging swap file
http://search.microsoft.com/search.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US
I do not use RAID... AVCHD is CPU intensive, not drive intensive like uncompressed, so I have no problems editing without RAID (but, this is for "simple" home videos)

Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything -
Using an admittedly long in the tooth iMac--dual core, 8GB RAM, etc--this problem recently emerged. Had no trouble with Fuji RAW captures from January until about three weeks ago. I haven't tried reinstalling anything and will try Aperture tonight. BTW, I've been having a lot of issues with Lightrrom, especially the SBBOD in develop mode.
Can't check with Mavericks because I'm still on 10.8.5, however I can't say I heard this behavior before.
Can you select a file that is changed with -0.95 but does not show the result and with right mouse click menu choose purge cache for selection, does that make a difference?

Bridge CS5 not detecting camera
I just upgraded my MAC to OS 10.8.3, now Adobe Bridge CS5 cannot detect my camera when I plug in to download images. What do I need to do to correct this?
Moved to Bridge General Discussion
Can you provide more details, what version of Bridge (check About Bridge) and what camera are you using.
In general, plugging the camera to the computer is not the best workflow, it would be safer and faster to get a USB or firewire card reader and put your card in the reader.
If you go to the menu file / get photo's from camera you will be provided with Adobe Photodownloader. Check the options and use the advanced menu. But be warned, don't let APDL delete your files form the card. This is very dangerous because you first should check if your files are correct and make a back up before considering to delete the files from the card. If you are sure everything is OK put the card back in the camera and use the camera software to delete the files, I personally use the format card option to have a clean start. -
Premiere CS6 not exporting to ME6 Queue
I've had nothing but success with Premiere Pro CS6, but the ability to Queue up videos to Media Encoder CS6 suddenly stopped functioning (nothing happened that I'm aware of). I'm able to Export just fine from Premiere and can add manually to ME, but cannot export to the queue list.
This happens after reboot, with different video files, and when the renderings are deleted or not. MECS6 will open, but just sit there. Any ideas of what would be going on?
System Specs:
Mac Pro 1.1 on OSX 10.6.8
Dual 2.66GHz Intel Xeon
GeForce 7300GT
4GB ramTo import a sequence into AME with PPRO closed, open an OS file browser and go to the path where your pproj is saved. Drag and drop that file into AME (either onto a preset in the Preset Browser or directly into the Queue). You can also select "Add Premiere Pro Sequence" in the File Menu and then browse to your project. Regardless of which path you go down, AME will bring up dialog that shows you all the sequences within the project.
I expect that importing through one of these workflows will yield the same results as dragging and dropping a sequence from PPRO to AME. All of these methods work directly with the original project file, whereas the normal workflow of exporting from PPRO (File>Export>Media) saves a temporary copy of the sequence at the instance you export.
Note that in our experience, all of these export workflows add the job to AME in a matter of a few seconds, so we did see a need for a progress dialog. Clearly in your case something is significantly bogging down the process. Perhaps project size or complexity, effects & color grading, some I/O bottleneck.... The fact that drag-and-drop is, what, five times faster makes me suspect that an I/O problem (something like a badly fragmented disc where the snapshot of the sequence is being saved) is at least part of the equation, but that doesn't explain why drag-and-drop still takes over a minute.
Can you check RAM and CPU usage before and during export to see if either resource is getting pegged?
Also, what drives do you have your project on and are you encoding to? Are you using a solid state drive? An external drive? Working across a network? Do you have antivirus software running?
Another possible culprit is conforming audio. I'm not sure what the best way is to check if that's happening other than watching your media cache folder to see if new files are being written. -
I was trying to leave my wife a video message on facebook, but facebook keeps telling me it can't detect a video camera.
Anyone else have this issue, or how to fix it?I use Google Chrome on my 2011 macbook pro and am still experiencing this problem. I'm not sure when this started happening because I rarely use this function in fb. However, I do know that, in the past, the adobe flash player popup window was a straightforward "allow/deny" sort of thing. Now I have the option to change my display/source options. The default source is "Facetime HD Camera" which is results in the "camera not found" error. However all other camera sources (google camera adaper) have the same error message. I also have an option to "enable hardware acceleration" which doesn't mean anything to me. See screencaps below.
As a side note, after I hit "allow" the green indicator light on my webcam does turn on momentarily but still, flash doesn't seem to be able to find it.
Maybe its a flash setting in Chrome? Any ideas?? -

So, in a recent effort to fix a capturing problem- I did an archive and restore of my OSX to get Quicktime from 7.3 back to 7.1.6. The only problem is that now when I open FCP it can't find the camera. I've checked my connections- System profiler recognizes it- Tried two different cameras- Basic setup in FCP. I'm running out of ideas quick.
The weird thing is that when I open the Capture window, I can still control the device from my keyboard, but the 'preview' is disabled.
I'm on OSX 3.9, FCP 4.5
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
