Premiere Elements 10 64 bit won't start

My issue:
When I try to start Adobe Premiere Elements 10 64 bit the program will start to launch and then windows will announce "Adobe Premiere Elements 10 has stopped working"
My System:
HP Elitebook 8540w

8GB Ram
64bit operating system
Nvidia Quadro FX 880M
I have tried: (I'll try to remember everything)
Uninstalling/Reinstalling
Restarting after every uninstall mentioned in the I have tried section
Uninstalling antivirus
Stopping all programs and unneccessary services I could find
Updating video and sound card drivers to the latest version
Updated to latest version of Quicktime 7.71.80.42
Clean up hard drive and temp files
Uninstalled NVidea 3D Driver, PhysX System, nview and HD Audio Driver, leaving only the primary display driver

Any ideas?

The error message seems to be pointing the finger at your display drivers. You say:

Are these the mobile drivers from the nvidia site or from HP? Whichever ones they were, try the other. It's also possible that your windows updates applied a graphics driver update - that's usually a bad thing. Always get the drivers from HP or nvidia.

  • My Premiere Elements 9 won´t start, it stars loading and then it stops.

After replacing two drivers (as Adobe told me to because wasn´t showing the preview of vids, just sound) my premiere elements won´t start. I replaced the files and didn´t start. Then I replaced those files with the originals that I saved just in case, but the same issue. Does anyone know how to start the program again?
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere elements 8 won't start new project; crash reports

I just bought Premiere elements 8 and downloaded it, twice, because every time i try to start a new project a crash report comes up and the program closes. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Alondra,
there is a separate forum for Premiere Elements at
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premiere_elements
I suggest that you look over there. They have a Premiere Elements FAQs section posted over on the right hand side of the thread listing. So I suggest that you look at those FAQs and if you don't find your answer there, then post in the main section of the Premiere Elements forum.
Also if your computer has a Nvidia video card there is a banner at the top of the forum with specific info.
    Good luck.

  • Premiere elements 7 won't start

newbie here.not computer savvy.  i have just purchased pe7. i have successfully loaded the file but when i go back to start program i get an error message and it must shut down. i've done everything according to instructions i.e. no anti virus or other programs running. i noticed that one of the requirements is windows xp service pack 2, i have servicew pack 3, could this be problem. any help would be appreciated.

I'm with John. The main reasons the program won't launch are:
    1) Inadequate hardware. You should have at least double what Adobe lists as minimums. In particular, you'll not only need room on your hard drive to install the program but at least 20 gigs of free, defragmented space just to open it. (It's not that the program itself requires that much. But your operating system needs lots of paging space to run more intensive programs.) You'll also need two or three times that free space to do any video editing.
    2) Outdated firmware. In particular, and outdated version of Quicktime. Your Windows Update doesn't always load all the necessary updates. Secunia's program can help you find out what else you need, per the FAQs to the right of this forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/416585?tstart=0
    3) Finally, there is the possibility the program didn't take on the first installation. Occasionally, when your system is updated and you have adequate hardware, you may need to uninstall the program and reinstall it to get it to run right.

  • Premiere Elements 11 won't start anymore ...

... after chashing the system, software asks to update the display driver - haven't change anything (Lenovo T500, win7). Windows say that the proper driver is used. Do I still have to change the driver? How to proceed? uninstall/reinstall the software?

  • Premiere Elements 11 won't launch

    G'day,
I downloaded the trial version of PRE11 a few weeks ago, but I couldn't get it to run. Upon launch I get the welcome screen with two choices, to launch the Organizer or the Video Editor, but neither of these actually start. It seems as it is trying though, as I see a scrolling line below my choice after clicking it. No error code or anything like it, it simply won't start (and I don't see any process starting either).
Nevertheless, a few days ago I bought PRE11 (Win/Mac DVD, English) and installed it. Exactly the same behaviour as with the trial, apart from one thing. When I try to lanuch the Video Editor I get the licence agreement. After agreeing, it's the same thing though, nothing happens.
I've read this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4773135) and tried to see if I had any of the symptoms described, or if any of the suggested solutions worked. So far, no luck. I tried Large_Donkey's solution (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4893868#4893868) with the msvcr80.dll and msvcr100.dll files, but it didn't make any difference. Same thing with VDOsurfer's reply (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4903592#4903592) I also tried primarykeytech's suggestion (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4905283#4905283) and downloaded Dependency Walker and ran both Premiere Elements 11.exe and Premiere Elements.exe. At first, it reported that IEShims.dll and gpscv.dll was missing/couldn't be loaded, so I added these to the Premiere Elements folder. Then I got a message (still while running Premiere Elements.exe in Dependency Walker) saying that sysntfy.dll was missing, so I added this one as well to the Premiere Elements folder. After this, I still get three messages in Dependency Walker, but no further description on which files it can't find:
"Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module."
And none of these changes made any difference, I tried to launch the Video Editor and/or Organizer, but it's the same thing; won't launch, no error message. I've now resetted everything back to the way it was on installation, and tried to continue finding any solution.
Some specs, even if maybe not all of these are relevant. If any other specs are needed, just inform me.

Well, I tried the blacklist approach by adding a "blacklist.txt" file to the VST plugins folders I have, but to no avail. I also read the last post you made in the "Failure of Premiere to Launch - One Possibility VST's" thread, with the answers from Adobe Engineering. As that post was made almost 2 years ago, I somehow think this wouldn't be an issue in PrE 11 anymore?
Anyway, while trying to launch Premiere Elements.exe ~200 times the last 24h, I've not noticed anything strange in Event Viewer, no errors or warnings connected to the launch of PrE (or, for that matter, no errors or warnings at all during the time I try to launch the program). One thing I did notice, though, is that the process Premiere Elements 11.exe actually starts (I chose not to display the welcome screen every time, but to launch the Video Editor right away) but then quickly terminates. Utually it manage to get between 15-20MB of memory before it crashes and terminate the process, only takes 1 or 2 seconds from launch to termination.
Slowly losing my hope to actually discover the cause, as I'm shooting in the dark evey time (not getting any error messages or hints on what actually fails). Really needed to use PrE this week, maybe have to find some free alternative on the interwebs.
    Regards Henrik
Edit: Searching deeper on the Adobe forums regarding VST scanning issues with PrPro/E, and it baffles me how long this error seems to have been going on, even if it's not 100% certain that is the error in my case.
Edit2: Once again a shot in the dark, but I'm thinking my troubles may be due to multiple hard drives? As things are scattered over 3 discs (OS on one, programs on the second one and personal data on the third one) this might cause some path/reference issues? I was thinking this since Depencency Walker gives me the following error messages:
"Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module."
And it also states that it can't find IESHIMS.DLL and GPSVC.DLL (a road I already have been down earlier). This got me thinking PrE can't find the correct files from where it is installed (E:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere Elements 11). On the other hand, I'm getting the exact same error messages on Photoshop CS5 (which runs fine), and the same two dll files seems to be missing. Even tried running a few other programs that work, such as games, though Depencency Walker, and even they seems to miss these dll files.

  • Help! Premiere Elements 7 won't load project

Premiere elements 7  won't load my project.  Icon just spins - for about 10 minutes - then it freezes.  Figures that I am so close to finishing!!!  What are my options?  Can I copy the project and open on another computer?  Can I download a newer version of Pre and upload the unifinshed project??  Any help is greatly appreciated!!

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE does not offer that many options, if a Project goes "off."
However, these would be my first steps, and pretty much in this order:
Go to the PrE AutoSaves, and change the View to Details, so you can see the Dates/Times. Try Opening the very latest one. Note: if you have not changed the default, there should be five AutoSave files, and they should be located in the PrE AutoSave folder, in the Project's heirarchy. You want the latest one, not the one with the highest increment. AutoSave 03 could be newer, than AutoSave 05.
If that does not work, then try this - Move your Assets to a new location. Then, Open your original Project. As it loads, you should be presented with "Where is file _____?" and that is what you want. Here is the tricky part. If you have many Assets, and hopefully they are in the same folder, or a few folders, and not spread around the system. I would move all Video Assets to a Video folder, all stills to a Stills folder, all Audio to an Audio folder, etc. as you want to isolate things. When presented with the "Where is file ____?" navigate to the folder with that file, and locate it. PrE will then relink to all used Assets in that folder. This is why I would segregate Assets by type, to isolate the problem, if possible. If all of your Video files load fine, you will get a "Where is file ____?" for the stills, or the music, and repeat. If the Project fails on one Asset type, then you have located the bad Asset by type, and can repeat the exercise, by segregating each file in that Asset type, to a unique folder, navigating to each folder, when prompted, until you find the bad Asset.
In the tests above, never do a Save, but only a Save_As, so as to not overwrite the original PREL file.
Good luck, and hope that it is a bad Asset, and nothing more.

  • Premiere Elements 13 won't launch in Windows 8.1 (Click the icon and nothing happens)

I'm running the trial version of Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8.1 64-bit. It's a brand new PC built for video editing. Everything worked perfectly for about a week and all of a sudden I'm unable to start the program. I click the icon and nothing happens. No splash screen, no error code, no spinning circle cursor.
I have the latest video card drivers for my graphics card.
I've tried uninstalling the program, removed every last Adobe file from my PC, uninstalled all instances of Microsoft Visual C++ and reinstalled Adobe Premiere Elements 13. I tried the same with a fresh download of the program. Neither worked.
I've tried installing a couple .dll files based on a similar thread (where a program called iLivid was the issue). I don't have iLivid on this PC and adding the new drivers didn't work.
For the few days that the software was working I loved it and was ready to purchase. Unfortunately I won't be able to buy it until I can get it to launch on my PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

My major problem was with the reliability of the uninstall reinstall of Premiere Elements 12 Windows. I did not encounter any issues in this regard with 11. And, I have only looked at the 30 day tryout of 13 from Adobe. My computers are Windows XP 32 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8 and later 8.1 64 bit. The following describes what got me through the worse of these hassels.

I am not sure if the above will work for you with 13. But, it would be worthwhile to check them out.
Since you are dealing with current version 13, it might be a good idea to get Adobe via its Adobe Chat involved, with the hope of some remote control of your computer troubleshooting to try to get to the core of the issue. Chat Panels have been hard to come by for some of these issues, but let us try this route.
Please click on the following link
    Contact Customer Care
    Premiere Elements
    Adobe ID and signing in
Adobe ID, sign in, and account help
    Chat Panel
If the link does not hold its set, then you will need to navigate to the Chat Panel using the above titles as guides.
Depending on the outcome....if you purchased Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe direct within the last 30 days, you can request your
money back from Adobe. If you purchased elsewhere, then you are left to deal with the return policy of the seller.
We will be watching for further developments.

  • Premiere Elements 9 Won't Let Me Export Video.  What's Wrong?

So I have been trying to edit a recent Let's Play video for my Youtube channel, but there is a huge problem.  The program won't let me export my video.  I tried to export it as a .mpg; but it will never finish rendering.  I've tried other formats and the same thing happens.  I tried making a new project file and the same thing happened.  It will usually get to 1% or 47% and then the estimated time will start increasing and the video won't save any further.  I've edited videos with these type of files before (.M2TS, .MP4, .WAV, & .PNG) and it has rendered just fine.  Please help me because I have people who are asking for this video.  My computer runs Windows 7 Professional and has 2GB of RAM.

You've got a couple of issues to be concerned with, Cwood.
First -- are you really running a Windows 7 Professional computer with 2 gig of RAM! If so, it's surprising you can even run Premiere Elements. I highly recommend you upgrade to 4 gigs of RAM at the minimum -- and, if your OS is Windows 7 64-bit, possibly 6 or 8 gigs. RAM is your computer's lungs. Without adequate RAM, your computer can barely breathe!
Also, make sure that you have adequate free space on your hard drive (I'd recommend at least 100 gigs) and that you have run Disk Cleanup and the Defragmenter so that Premiere Elements has adequate free space to use for temp and render files.
Second, editing video from recording software like Let's Play can  have a number of inherent problems. What format is Let's Play recording your video as? If you open the video file in Media Info or G Spot, what frame rate, resolution and codec is displayed?
Finally, I would very much recommend AGAINST using an MPEG output for your YouTube output. MPEGs, like DV-AVIs, are interlaced videos, and they are really not going to look good at all when you post them online?
Have you tried using Premiere Elements 9's Share/Online/YouTube to output your video?

  • Newly installed Premiere Element 13 won't run.

I just installed Premiere Element13. The program launches but when I select either "New" or "Existing" project, a pop-up will show with the message"Adobe Premiere Element.exe - No Disk" "Please insert disk in drive D". The pop-up cannot be dismissed and the program is stuck there and won't even close. I have to go to Task Manager to end it!  I am running Windows 8.1, i5 4670K CPU, 8G RAM, 1T HD with DVD burner. Any suggestion?

I just installed the purchased version of Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 and 8.1 64 bit.  Interesting....
    1. Beyond the usual, there seems to be a problem with this version's Interpret Footage and Properties readings for the .mod widescreen 16:9 file
Premiere Elements 13 Major .MOD Widescreen Concerns
    2. With the Sept 2014 tryout there was a video transition named Funnel which is not there now in December 2014 in the
    purchased version.
    3. In the Sept. 2014 tryout, there were 2 new Movie Menu themes in the Kid's Corner category (Recital and Back to School). They
are not there in my December 2014 purchased Premiere Elements 13.
    4. There are some reports about some .m2ts files having no sound only in the Elements Organizer 13 player. More news on that.
This just might be a problem with AC-3 (Dolby Digital) support in this particular user file in the Elements Organizer 13 player. If you run into this type of issue, please let us know.
But, right now all is moving along nicely. Hope all is going well there.

  • Premiere Elements 11 won't launch at all.

I installed Premiere Elements 11 from a disk that also has Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements launches successfully. When I try to launch PE 11, either from the Start menu or the desktop icon, I get the round "swirl" for a moment, then it disappears and nothing happens. I also right-clicked and selected the option to run as administrator. I got the User Account Control message and I clicked OK.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium on my HP desktop. I tried to update the driver (ATI Radeon HD 5450) but it said I have the latest driver.
I appreciate any suggestions or help.

Have you answered the classical question yet, that is, do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 11 Windows 7 64 bit? And, did you right click the Premiere Elements 11 desktop icon and selected Run As Administrator.
What about deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file? Have you been there and done that?

If deleting just the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file in that 11.0 Folder does not resolve the problem, then try deleting that whole 11.0 Folder.
In all of that, make sure that you are working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives on so that you can see the complete path.
Have you checked your antivirus program to make sure that it is not involved in this issue?
Have you already gone down the road where you deactivate in Help Menu/Deactivate, close out of there, and uninstall (Control Panel) and reinstall?
Have you tried launching the program from Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file in the Program Files. The desktop icon goes to Adobe Premiere Elements 11.exe which opens the program to the Welcome Screen. The Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file bypasses the Welcome Screen.

  • Premiere Elements 12 does not start after error message: display driver is incompatible

After successful installation and starting Premiere Elements the following error message appears: "Uncompatible display driver identified. Update the display driver for a better and faster playback performance!" Hopefully my translation from German is helpful enough. I confirmed with OK but unfortunately Premiere Elements does not start. I checked the display driver: it is the most actual one: AMD Radeon HD 7610M. Furthermore the hardware should be OK as well: ASUStek with an Intel Core i5-2450M CPU @2.5 GHz; 6 GB RAM; 64 Bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1. What can I do?

    Moonkeys25
Recap...please confirm that as of this date, the problem exists with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
    Moving forward...
If you issue was specific to the display card error that you have been getting then probable conclusions
    a. the ADM Radeon H7610M driver version is not up to date
    or
    b. the ADM Radeon H7610 M video card/graphics card installed as is is not compatible with Premiere Elements 12 on your Windows 7 SP1 64 bit
The updated driver version and the BadDrivers.txt file deletion should have corrected the problem unless there is a gross mismatch between Premiere Elements 12 and ADM Radeon H7610M.
Did you use the link that John posted to get the auto detection of the latest driver version for the ADM card?
If we have gone as far as we can with the card and its driver version angle on this, then we can try the generalized troubleshooting drills with no guarantees, just hopes
    1. Delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. You just need to make sure to have the computer's Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
    2. If "1" has no effect on the issue...uninstall, ccleaner run through time, reinstall with antivirus and firewalls turned off.
    a. Control Panel/Program, select Adobe Premiere Elements 12, right click the entry and click on the Uninstall pop up. Then follow the instructions for the uninstall.
    b. Download and install the free ccleaner for a computer run through to get rid of leftovers from incomplete uninstalls and installs.
    https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
When you are ready for this step, I will give you a step by step through the ccleaner (regular cleaning part and registry cleaning part).
    c. Reinstall from your installation files or installation disc, with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
Please review above and then let me know if I have interpreted correctly where we are in the troubleshooting. Do not start the above plan until we are in agreement on the details and hoped for results.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 4 won't render or export.

    Hello!
I have recently found the HD options in Premiere Elements 4, but when I go to render or export, the render window pops up for a split second before closing. When I click export, it prompts me to save the file, but then it doesn't do anything.
The NTSC-DV-Standard 48kHz and Widescreen 48kHz works just fine, it's the HDV 1080i 30 and HDV 720p 30 that wont render or export. This is very irratating as I would like to have higher quality videos when my clips are higher quality as well.
Thank you in advance for any help!

The installation of QuickTime on your computer with Premiere Elements 4 is a must.
Please go to the following link and install QuickTime (the version will be applicable to 32 as well as 64 bit system)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
This version should cover through Windows 8, 8.1 64 bit.
The other requirement is that you run the these programs as Run As Administrator or from a User Account with Administrative Priviledges.
Then I would suggest that you try the export
    Share
    Personal Computer
    QuickTime
with the Preset = Cable Modem
and then change the settings under the Advanced Button/Video Tab
    or
Repeat what you have been doing with File Menu/Export/Movie with your setting presumed to be for
    QuickTime 1440 x 1080 HD anamorphic 16:9. H.264.mov.
Let us see if the QuickTime requirement takes care of your issue.
    Looking forward to your results.
But the success or failure of the overall project is going to depend to a large extent on how you set up the project.
The project preset set at the beginning of each new project should match the properties of your source media. So, get a good handle on what those properties are.

Are you starting out with HD footage like 1440 x 1080 HD anamorphic 16:9 or 1280 x 720 16:9 and going to an edit and export to the same. Or are you try to take SD footage to a HD export?
