Premiere Elements 10: Pixellated Video ...

Got the video from my camera which was recorded at "Standard HQ" (Sony HD video camera). When I was done adding Titles and End Credits, streamed it out to my hard drive, and then copied to a DVD. I played the DVD and it was a bit pixellated -- straight lines at an angle have jaggies, etc. Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks.

Project settings:
I didn't change any settings here ... this is the active project. These are the "New Project" settings:
I copied an existing project for this one, because it had the titles and end credit items that I have used in the past, and I didn't want to start from scratch, just edit existing. Is it possible to change settings at that point? Or ...?
The camera doesn't list in the menus what the actual settings are ... There is a higher quality setting that is very high resolution from what I can see, but I don't know what the differences are. Digging through the manual (after finding it) ... Standard "HQ" seems to be "1440x1080/60i, AVC HD9M (HQ)" (whatever this last part is) ... I can't go back and re-record (was recording a one-off performance of a show). The "Highest Quality" is "1920x1080/60i AVC HD24M (FX)".
Export is Burn to Folder (4.7GB -- standard DVD), NTSC_Widescreen_Dolby DVD
Hope that gives enough info ... obviously I am an amateur, but want to get the best possible quality I can out of what I've been working with.
Thanks!
Ken

  • Does premiere elements support analog video

I have DVD's of analog videos burned from a 8mm Camcorder recorded in UDF format. Does Premiere Elements support analog video for editing?

    theodorepost
Thanks for what sounds like good news.
I see no need for you to convert those VTS_01_1.VOB files into anything else.
    Here is my suggested plan...
    a. Download and install the free 30 day tryout of Premiere Elements 12 from Adobe
    b. Put your DVD disc in the DVD burner tray. Open Premiere Elements 12 to the Expert workspace.
Click on File Menu/New/Export and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard or Widescreen (depending on whether
your files are for standard 4:3 or widescreen 16:9)...do not forget the check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on
    This Project".
    c. Then back in the Expert workspace, use Add Media/"DVD Camera or Computer Drive"/Video Importer. In the Video Importer,
put a check mark next to your VTS_01_1.VOB, a check mark next to Add to Timeline, and designate at Save In location. Then click
Get Media to put the file in Project Assets and on the Timeline.
    d. Then we can gauge the situation.
Again, if possible, do not purchase the program until you have work through the tryout in order determine if Premiere Elements 12 work for your video editing/export goals and is compatible with your computer environment.
We will be watching for further developments.

Add On...If any problems (I do not expect any) with Add Media/DVD Camera or Computer Drive), we might consider Add Media/Files and Folders/ and navigate to the VTS_01_1.VOB.

  • Premiere Elements 9 - MTS-Video keine Tonspur

    Hallo,
    Mein System:
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit
    6 GB Ram
    Intel I7 920 (2,79 GHz)
    HDGaspen

I can't answer yes or not confidently, so I'll walk through what I'm seeing.
Project Settings > General, indicate Video Frame Size 1920x1080, square pixels 1.0.
When I edit in the timeline and drag and drop new clips, I have them all set to default scale to frame size. Additionally, anything I create in photoshop I save on a 640x360 canvass so I'm using the same baseline size for everything, that way I know where it will all end up when I bring it into elements.
When I share, I'm then choosing the following settings:
Windows Media > Email and Playback on a PC
    Presets: custom
         Video frame: 640x360
         Rate 29.97fps
Pixel aspect ratio NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2121).
The rest shouldn't affect it. Now that I'm typing that out I see a discrepency. The source pixel ratio is square, while the output I'm trying to make is widescreen. That may have some negative effects. I'm going to change the output to a square pixel and re-produce (which will take upwards of an hour) and try that.
Aside from the pixels, does my info above answer your other questions? Do you see any other issues with what I'm doing?

  • Premiere Elements 11 Audio & Video are not in sync

I am using Premiere Elements 11 for editing sermons, and recently I have noticed that in all of the finalized videos the audio and video are out of sync about half-way through the sermon. I know it is not the DVDs since they have no issues when running in a DVD player or with Windows Media Player.  The DVD's that are formated after service break the sermon into three files. The files, after importing them to Premiere, read  "VTS_01_1. VOB,  VTS_01_2. VOB,  VTS_01_3.VOB" The first file runs fine with no delay, but the last two consistently are off.  When I first installed this program I had no trouble with this so I am wondering did I change something or is there a better way to do this.

    terriCCC
Is your Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 7 or 8 64 bit?
How are you getting those VOBs to the Expert workspace Timeline?
Are you placing your DVD in the DVD burner tray, opening Premiere Elements 11 to use its Add Media/"DVD Camera or Computer Drive"/Video Importer with "Add To Timeline" and the ripped VOBs select in the Video Importer dialog? Or, other?
Please clarify what you are exporting your Timeline to for this playback that is out of sync...file saved to the computer hard drive or to DVD-VIDEO standard or widescreen format on DVD disc. Are you setting the correct project preset? If your DVD represents DVD-VIDEO standard is your project preset NTSC DV Standard; if your DVD represents DVD-VIDEO widescreen is your project preset NTSC DV Widescreen?
Each VOB cannot accept more than 0.99 GB. So, when more data are involved, another VOB is generated. Right now it looks like you have 3 x 0.99 GB on your Timeline. What total duration are you seeing? When you get to the burn dialog for one of these projects, what are you seeing in the burn dialog for Space Required and Bitrate.
When quality and out of sync audio occur with the ripping of the content into the video component VOBs, some have tried a seamless DVD.vob approach (combined VOBs in one file) using the computer Command Prompt and then importing the DVD.vob instead of the individual VOBs. I have written about this in a blog post.

I do not know if we are ready for this just yet.
Let us confirmed the details of what you are doing now as per the questions that I have asked.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification on anything that I have written.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere Elements 8 - Edited video will not open

Hoping I can get some assistance from the gurus here!  I have recently completed editing a video and uploaded to the video to the Adobe online sharing site.  Problem is I cannot access it from the online site, nor will it load/display when I attempt to open from Premiere Elements.  Trying not to panic; any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just to make sure that I am following you, you have completed the editing on a Project in PrE 8, and then did a Share to your account on Adobe.Com. For some reason, that file is not displaying on your Adobe.Com account, or at least you cannot get to it Is that correct?
Back in the original Project, can you do another Export/Share to another output AV file?
As I have never used the personal Adobe.Com site, I cannot be of any help to you there, but others know the processes and mechanics, and will likely be able to assist.
    Good luck,

  • Premiere Elements 11  Download video from youtube.

The image was small so I dragged it to make it bigger.
I trimmed it and it plays fine. But after rendering it is jittery.  Please help.

Unless there has been recent changes, YouTube agreement does not permit for downloads (ripping) of its videos, except as otherwise stipulated or in the case when you are downloading video that you personally uploaded to YouTube in the first place.
When I lost the original file that I had uploaded to YouTube, I was able to download from YouTube itself a .mp4 version of it with excellent quality for use in Premiere Elements or elsewhere.

  • Premiere Elements 12 - My videos have extra minutes of black space added that I don't know how to get rid of.

I just finished making a video that runs to about the 13 minute mark. After that I don't have anything on the timeline. Despite this, the duration I see when I try to export is about 25 minutes. I then watched the video to confirm that I had an extra 12-13 minutes or so of blank, black, empty space added to the end of the video. I made doubly sure that there was no tiny file a chopped off on accident or anything, there's just nothing there. This has been a recurring problem, having occurred with a 7-ish minute video being expanded to 15.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Be sure to update 12 to 12.1 via a project's Help Menu/Update. Background information. For now I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Now to the core of the matter and a quick way to find and correct the problem which is related to fragment beyond what you consider to be the end of your Timeline content.
    1. Open the project to the Expert workspace. Expand the Timeline content maximally by taking the Zoom Out-Zoom In Slider above the Timeline all the way to the right.
    2. Hit the computer keyboard End Key. That should take the Timeline Indicator to the spot where the fragment(s) is (are)..
These fragments typically present as thin vertical black lines scattered among the track contents. Could even be a file that you pushed out of the way when
you were editing and forgot you left it there. Search all tracks.
    3. After you find and delete it or them, then use the End Key again to make sure that this time Timeline Indicator stops at the end of your intended Timeline content when you press the computer keyboard End key.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere Elements 9 - No Video Preview or Playback

I just installed Pre 9 and when i'm editing a project and hit play all I hear is sound, no video on the screen...I have another problem when I double click on something I imported and try to playback..All I see is a white screen and I hear the sound....I have a new Dell XPS 14 laptop with nice specs and i've been using the windows movie editor without problems so i'm wondering what's going on with Premiere Elements,
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hallo,
I am from Germany and I have the same great problem
Win XP prof. new installed with all updates, NVIDEA 9500GT with driver 266.58, Ram 4GB (3.5 GB effective), all other drivers are actuell. Board Asus P5Q-E with Dual Core 8600. Harddisk 1 with OS and programms, Harddisk2 for data, Harddisk 3 for video only. PRE updatet from 9.0 to 9.01.
    Failure:
    1. When I open PRE and a new projekt the preview window (monitor) is white. On my second computer with WIN7 the preview window is black and PRE
        9.01 runs perfect.
    2. When I open a DVD (created with PRE3.02), and put the files on the timeline, the video frames and audio are correct in the timeline.
    3. When I start to playback the video, the marker moves at the timeline, I can hear the sound but no picture is shown at the preview window.
    4. When I click left with the mouse in the preview window the actuell frame is shown and the playback stopped. When I start again, the preview window gets
white and I can hear the sound.
    5. In the "Videoimporteur" it is the same problem. The files are shown, but  the little preview window is white. When I start playback it's the same problem:
no picture but I can hear the sound.
    What I tested:
    1. I started PRE 9.01 and opend an other DVD (created with Premiere Pro 1.5 und Encore DVD) witch ran perfect on a stand alone Pioneer
and  a Sony DVD player and on several computers with windows media player: the same failure.
    2. I thougt there was a problem with the mpeg codec so I tryed to import a avi file: the same failure, preview window is white, no picture at playback but I can
       here the sound.
    3. I installed my old PRE3.02 on the same computer where is the PRE9.01 installed. Playbackfunction on PRE3.02 is well, but on PRE 9.01 the same
        failure.
    4. In german videoforums I found the theme problems but nobody has an idea,
    5. I contact the adobe support no answer since 6 days.
Excuse my bad english, I hope somebody can help my.
    Thanks

  • Premiere Elements 8 & MP4 video problem

    A.T. Romano
Attached is my MP4 video from my Sanyo Xacti. When I perform a "Get Media" in Premiere Elements 8 I only see red cells in the timeline, task panel and playback monitor were red. No video images would display, only sound. Any Ideas?
    Thanks APK

    APK
    SANY0002.MP4
    According the gspot utility
    Video Codec = MPEG-4 Video
    Frame Size: 1280 x 720
Frame Rate: 29.97 frames per second
    Sar = .1778 (16:9)
    Par = 1:1
    Dar = 1.778 (16:9)
Audio Codec = MPEG-4 AAC LC
    48000 Hz 128 kb/s tot, stereo (2/0)
    Premiere Elements 8 Import/Playback
SANY002.MP4 original. Video and Audio imported, but video presented as a bright red matte, but audio was fine.
SANY002.MP4 with file extension changed to .AVI. Video and Audio imported, but video presented as black video, but audio was fine.
    Conversion Workaround Solution
Convert file to DV AVI widescreen (720 x 480 with 16:9 flag)
MPEG Streamclip (free MPEG Streamclip + QuickTime Alternative 1.81 (with free MPEG2 Playback Component) and uninstall regular QuickTime OR free MPEG Streamclip, leave your regular QuickTime installed, and buy the required Apple MPEG2 Playback Component)
    http://www.squared5.com/
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
    MPEG Streamclip suggested settings:
File Menu/Open, to bring in your video
    File Menu/Export to AVI
    Then in AVI/DivX Explorer dialog:
    Compressor: Apple DV/DVCPRO-NTSC
    Sound: Uncompressed
Put a dot next to 720 x 480 (DV NTSC)
    Field Dominance: Lower Field First
Up at top right, click on Options, set there for Aspect Ratio = 16:9.
Only if necessary, put a check mark next to Deinterlace Video.
Anything that I did not mention, leave as is.
Finally, click on Make AVI and the job is done quickly and effectively.
This gave great results with your video, and this DV AVI version worked well video and audio wise in Premiere Elements 8.
Your could use the free Prism Video Converter, but the free version is limited to 4:3, and some export types are only available in the purchased version.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
    Prism suggested settings:
    Output format = .avi
Encoder Options = DV Encoder NTSC (Direct Show)
Edit Option = check mark next to Resize Video; uncheck Constrain Proportions; set for 720 x 480.
You could also get a .wmv version from this software. Look into that if you decide to use this converter instead of MPEG Streamclip which is my favorite.
There are lots to explore with your original HD MPEG-4 and its problems with Premiere Elements 8. At one point I had this video on a jump drive. When I went to import the video into Premiere Elements 8 from this jump drive, the Media Downloader was triggered. In the intermediate part of this process, a thumbnail of the video being exported is shown in the Media Downloader Advanced dialog. Interestingly, the thumbnail in the Media Downloader showed the video clearly, but once it got into the Premiere Elements 8 media area—bright red matte looking image in Organizer thumbnail and in the Edit Mode Monitor once the video was dragged to the Timeline.

  • Premiere Elements 9 Shakey Video After Render!?

    Hi
I am using Premiere Elements 9 to create my videos.
For some reason when I render my videos out the material is shaky?
I've been rendering my videos to play on windows media and the format is HD720p 30
The camera I am using is a Panasonic HDC-SD200 Full HD 1920x1080 (I've been downloading the material from the SD to the computer and then uploading it to Prem that way)
    Any help would be great!
    Cheers!!

When you started your Premiere Elements project, which project settings did you select? (You can check -- but not change it -- underr Edit/Project Settings.)
Your camcorder shoots in a variety of formats. However, assuming you shot in HA or HG format, you should have selected the project settings for Full AVCHD 1920x1080. (Your camcorder also has options to shoot in stereo or 5.1 audio, and you must select the correct setting for it also.)
If you've selected any other project setting that would explain the stuttering you're seeing. It's an frame rater interlacing conflict. Try setting up a project as I recommend and put some test footage in it. If you then output test footge as a WMV, it should look terrific.
Note that great improvements in working with AVCHD have been made in more recent versions of Premiere Elements. Version 11, for instance, automatically sets up your project to match your video, so you would not have had this issue.

  • Can Premiere Elements 13 export videos at 60 FPS?

I am currently using Premiere Elements 10, and the highest quality video I am able to export for any file type is only 30 Frames Per Second. Does Premiere Elements 13 allow you to export videos at 60 Frames Per Second?
I am trying to export high quality gameplay footage captured at 60 FPS. I can import those videos into Premiere Elements 10, but since I can only export 30 FPS videos, the quality suffers.

    apogue87
Whether you use Premiere Elements 10 or 13, you should have the opportunity to export to file with a frame rate of 59.94/60 progressive frames per second. You do that my customizing the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of the preset.
If you post properties of your Timeline content and the export format that you seek, I will give you more specific details. You should not have to go to 13 for what you seek.
Please review and consider, and supply more information.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere elements HD export video freezes

Whenever I export a Video from Premiere Elements 13, the playback on the exported file is messed up. It will work fine for 9-13 seconds (literally the range) and then the screen freezes and the whole thing glitches out and is effectively useless. I should not that 720p usually works but when I try to export it in 1080p it fails. The videos are filmed in 1080p. This happens using both of my Drift model mobile cameras AND my Canon regular camera.
I am running Windows 8, and the playback is using VLC media player. I just purchased Elements a few months ago.

Also, have tried exporting in all of the 1080 HD options with all of the framerate options, but my cameras film at 30 FPS

  • Premiere elements not accepting video from my iphone 4s

    Hi.
can't get my iphone 4s video into adobe premiere elements 10.  won't accept it.

    Hi.
Sure appreciate your interest and assistance.
You asked:  “When you saved in Elements before what was the free space amount at the save location designated....and now what is
the free external hard drive space when you designate it as the save location for your Premiere Elements saves?”
I never designate the external hard drive as the save location.  It makes a copy automatically.
Also, you mention investigating “drive speeds.”  I didn’t think the external hard drive has a drive speed (?).
If it does, would that mean the external hard drive is somehow helping the desktop internal hard drive?
I’m not sure what you mean when you say:   (With the plug in and out external hard drive situation), periodically check the drive letter of the external hard drive to assure
that it is not changing. That could cause some media disconnect issues for your projects if the projects source media are
stored on the external hard drive.”  I think the external hard drive just makes a copy.
    Let me know.
    thanks.

  • Adome Premiere Elements 7.0 Video Playback jitter

Hi Having problems playing videos in Premiere elements.
Once imported I them imported into premiere elements and then play it- the video is jittery and not smooth. Playing it in more basic players seems to not have any problems at all.- I'm unsure why this is occurring in premiere.
Laptop Specs are 2.0MHZ CPU,2GB RAM 20GB Free HDD Space- files are 20MB.
Ive defragged the drive and gone through and cleaned up things- can anyone advise where I start and what things may need configuring etc...- this occurs to any video played in Adobe Elements premiere 7.0. Files are imported from a Sony handy cam HDR-SR11
    Kind Regards John

You've got a number of problematic issues, John.
For one, your computer is underpowered. A laptop running 2 mhz is barely fast enough to run the program, even editing standard video -- and 20 gig of free hard drive space will not likely be enough to allow for scratch disk files for any intensive video work and the fragmentation and paging that always happens on a C drive.
But you've compounded all of that by trying edit AVCHD video, probably the most challenging, intensive format to edit on any computer. Most people who are successfully editing AVCHD are doing so on state of the art quad-core computers.
So, unfortunately, you're just not going to be able to work with this program, editing that video on this computer. Sorry.
The FAQs at the top of this forum offer our suggestions for minimum computer specs. The computer at the bottom of the list would most likely be required to edit video from that camcorder.

  • Premiere Elements 4 - exporting video to .wmv

    Hi,
I have Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 and cannot seem to export videos to .wmv formats. Windows Media file (.wmv) is listed as a supported video format for export in the help files, and I have found several threads that talk about exporting it on earlier versions of PE. However, when I go to file / export / Movie I do not see that option available. Nor do I see it from the Share tab. MPEG
Anyone know how to export video to .wmv files in PE4.0?
    Thanks,

It is there in the Share tab... I had trouble finding it intially. You need to scroll down through the options... yes it does scroll down. :)
