Premiere Elements 11 AVI Audio Issue

Hey there,
I'm fairly new to this software and am playing around in it to get a feel so bear with me if I'm completely overlooking the source of my problem.
When I import my video to the editor, about an 8 minute .avi clip, the video plays at regular speed but the audio sounds like it's slowed immensly. (A low growl, can't tell if it's only bass or the audio slowed to 400% about.) I've tried speeding up the clip (audio included) and it just becomes a faster version of the slow growl audio. The original video plays fine in the clip organizer and in windows media. I've tried saving, rendering, etc. but it doesn't help. Non .avi clips seem to work fine, it's just the one's from my screen recorder (which may be the issue) that 'brake.' I hope someone understands what my problem is, any misunderstandings, feel free to ask.
Thanks for your time, cheers.

  • Premiere Elements 9 audio issue

Hi, i have an audio issue with Premiere Elements 9.
I just purchased a Dazzle DVC 100. I've captured Video/Audio through Pinnacle Studio no problems.
But when I try to capture in PE9 I only get Video. I have changed every setting i could find under the
audio preferences menus, tried every combination i could but still no audio. Am i missing something?
    Thanks for any help forwarded!
These are the settings i tried.
edit - project settings - playback settings - I've clicked both Desktop Audio/External Device Audio
edit - preference - audio hardware - Default Device - Premiere Elements WDM Sound
ASIO Settings - Input - Realtek Digital Input (selected)
                                                                                                      - Output - Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) (selected)
                                                                                                                    - Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio) (selected)
Tried the Default Device: Asio4All v2 setting
This comes up with 2 options Realtek High Def Audio and Dazzle DVC100 Audio Device
I have selected both these still no audio.
    I'm stumped.

Unfortunately the Dazzle is one of those low-end capture units that are pretty much made to work with the video editor that comes with them. Even converting the video won't make it more compatible with Premiere Elements.

  • Premiere Elements 4 audio won't play on mp4 files, codecs missing/unavailable on .mov files

I dowlnloaded Premiere Elements 4, and when I import mp4 files, the video plays but the audio will not. I've also tried to import .mov files, and an error message pops up that says "Codec missing or unavailable." I downloaded the latest version of Quicktime, but that didn't change anything. The files will play back on the video camera, but I"m having trouble with them on my computer. The audio on the mp4 files plays in Quicktime, but not the video, and vice versa when I import them into Elements. Any suggestions?

Does Quicktime Pro also edit .mov files on a PC?

Premiere Elements 4 pretty much works with tape-based digital video. That would be video from a miniDV or HDV tape-based camcorder. It doesn't handle other formats very well.
If you plan to edit MP4s, you definitely want to upgrade to a more current version of the program. If you can't install a current version of the program, you may need to address issues on your computer (such as an outdated operating system or underpowered hardware configuration).
Short of that, you could buy Quicktime Pro from Apple for $29. It will edit MP4s, even on a PC platform.

  • Premiere Elements 11 Audio & Video are not in sync

I am using Premiere Elements 11 for editing sermons, and recently I have noticed that in all of the finalized videos the audio and video are out of sync about half-way through the sermon. I know it is not the DVDs since they have no issues when running in a DVD player or with Windows Media Player.  The DVD's that are formated after service break the sermon into three files. The files, after importing them to Premiere, read  "VTS_01_1. VOB,  VTS_01_2. VOB,  VTS_01_3.VOB" The first file runs fine with no delay, but the last two consistently are off.  When I first installed this program I had no trouble with this so I am wondering did I change something or is there a better way to do this.

    terriCCC
Is your Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 7 or 8 64 bit?
How are you getting those VOBs to the Expert workspace Timeline?
Are you placing your DVD in the DVD burner tray, opening Premiere Elements 11 to use its Add Media/"DVD Camera or Computer Drive"/Video Importer with "Add To Timeline" and the ripped VOBs select in the Video Importer dialog? Or, other?
Please clarify what you are exporting your Timeline to for this playback that is out of sync...file saved to the computer hard drive or to DVD-VIDEO standard or widescreen format on DVD disc. Are you setting the correct project preset? If your DVD represents DVD-VIDEO standard is your project preset NTSC DV Standard; if your DVD represents DVD-VIDEO widescreen is your project preset NTSC DV Widescreen?
Each VOB cannot accept more than 0.99 GB. So, when more data are involved, another VOB is generated. Right now it looks like you have 3 x 0.99 GB on your Timeline. What total duration are you seeing? When you get to the burn dialog for one of these projects, what are you seeing in the burn dialog for Space Required and Bitrate.
When quality and out of sync audio occur with the ripping of the content into the video component VOBs, some have tried a seamless DVD.vob approach (combined VOBs in one file) using the computer Command Prompt and then importing the DVD.vob instead of the individual VOBs. I have written about this in a blog post.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/09/pe-dvd-videoseamless-vob-ripping.html
I do not know if we are ready for this just yet.
Let us confirmed the details of what you are doing now as per the questions that I have asked.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification on anything that I have written.
    Thank you.

  • Flash in Premiere Elements Image Quality issue

    Hello,
I've decided now that I am going to create animated films in Flash and then edit them in Premiere Elements. the problem is, is that when I export it from Flash to Premiere Elements the Image quality is detiereoreted (i.e fuzzy, blurry, out of focus, general ugly to look at). I first realised that I couldnt use an swf file in Premiere and isntead I should use an AVI. So I did. Problem is I'm still having the same problem. the Image quality is still terrible and doesn't equal up to the origonal image quality. And then tried Uncompressing it and all that did is make the video clip jump over about 80 frames and still the image quality is terrible. Is their one little thing that I'm doing wrong or Am I altogether not getting this right.
    Programs I'm using:
    Macromedia Flash MX 2004
    Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0
Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 (currently not working)

The MS DV CODEC should be installed on your system already. Whether Flash can Export to it could still be an issue. I'll have to check my version of Flash (think that it's Studio 8, but I've had it around from version 2) to see what all of the options are.
I've been handed many Flash animations that were Exported as .MOV with the Animation CODEC, and these have edited fine.
Other than the huge file sizes, AVI [Uncompressed] should work fine too. You might have resource issues, but that would depend on your system, more than on your NLE. I've used these with no issues many times.
Another likely candidate would be the free Lagarith Lossless CODEC. I use it for intermediate transfer and it edits fine in PrPro. I would assume that it would be the same in PrE, but cannot verify this.
On Monday, I'll be on my workstation with Flash and will tell you the exact version, plus the Export options available.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere Elements 7 Audio Help

I'm working on a video project in Premiere Elements 7. After starting to get the hang of it (this is my first time using the program), things were going fine. I was in the process of manually setting up the menu markers, when I came across a stretch of video that had no audio. This part was approximately an hour in and the entire video up until that point was perfectly fine. The soundless part lasts about 15 minutes and then the remaining 45 minutes have audio but it is badly out of sync with the video. I've tried restarting the project and re-uploading the video to the program again, but it didn't help. I know it isn't a problem with the video because I've worked with it before and just tested it in iTunes and Quicktime and it works perfectly fine with those programs.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be and how to fix it? Would the audio problems transport over to the DVD if I were to burn one with the video as is? Thanks.

Are you Importing MP3's from your iTunes, or something else? MP3's are notoriously bad for Video editing, as they cause lots of problems. I always convert all MP3's to PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit, and have zero issues. I use Adobe Audition, but the great, free audio-editing program, Audacity, will do this too, as will many other programs.
If you problem Audio is coming from the muxed MOV files, what are the specs. of the Audio?
Hope that that helps, good luck, and welcome to the forum,
    Hunt
PS - as Steve mentions, when Importing any file with Audio, Conforming and PEK (Waveform Display) files will need to complete. There is a little blue progress bar at the lower-right of the GUI. Wait until it is done, before doing ANY editing.

  • JERKY when viewing inside Premiere Elements 10. Issue has come up a lot before

JERKY. Have Premiere Elements 10, Editing video from a Canon Still Camera ELPH 500 HS at 1920 x 1080 (absolutely love the video clips this camera produces). I bought a faster PC, i7 CPU 8 gig RAM, memory drive for one of the drives, very fast.
OK, if I only have one clip and a simple edit such as cut beginning and end, fade in start fade out end, everything is perfect. The minute I start adding a little complexity, text titles, other clips, anything, it slows down and becomes JERKY in adobe and very slow to start/ stop using the mouse or space bar. (It was a lot worse in Premiere Elements 8).

Per canon manual, clips are MOV (Image: H.264; Audio: Linear PCM (stereo))
Per properties on PC, here is what it says:
    Camera clips are .MOV
    video 1920 x 1080
    data rate 33478
    23 frames per sec
    Audio 2 sterio,
    14237 kbs
    48kz
    Project Settings:
    DSLR, 1020 x 1080, 24fps
Note that the window came up asking if I want to put my project settings the same as the video clip,
and I answered yes, so i think the settings in premiere are good by selecting taking the recommended settings.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 9 Freezing Issue

In Adobe Premiere Elements 9, every time I click, the program freezes for at least 30 seconds and sometimes closes.  This happens every time I try to do anything and is very frustrating.
    Personal Computer Specs:
    Quad Core 2.8 GHz CPU
    4 GB RAM
    1 GB GPU
1TB Hard Drive (Plenty of Room Remains)

    Hi Schaef,
I'll do my best to try to explain...
The problem that was causing my issue was that I had chosen the wrong Project Settings.  I tried just playing around with them until the program sped up.
    Here's how to do it:
When you first open Premiere 9 you will see the regular start-up window.  When you click on 'New Project' you will wait a second then see this:
When you see this window, select the name and save destination, then click on 'Change Settings...'
Try playing around with the presets on the left.  If possible, find the option that fits your video footage's particulars.  If that's not available, find one that most closely fits them.
Once you've found a suitable option, try saving the settings and opening the new project.  If you don't notice any difference, than you should start all over to find a different option.  Repeat this until the program has significantly sped up (as it did for me).
If none of this helps, I apologize, my knowledge with the program is not very profound.
Let me know how you make out though!

  • Premiere Elements 8 Playback Issues

    Hey everyone,
I am trying to make a compilation of movie clips using Premiere Elements 8. When I add a movie, I crop it down to about a minute long and delete the rest. However, when I try to play back what I have, the video is very laggy and not synced with the audio, or there is often no audio whatsoever. These same videos work perfectly fine in Windows Movie maker. I tried clicking "Render Work Area", but that did nothing. Also, in the bottom right corner of the screen a bar keeps popping up that reads "conforming (name of video)". Any advice that you guys can offer will be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Abobe Premiere Elements 12 Rendering Issue

After clicking "Render" button, the program runs about a few seconds and stop. Meanwhile, a error message pops up, asking to copy and paste the provided serial number on the given adobe website to get decode. When you do it, the website shows another error message which says something like that the website dose not support any adobe premiere elements below the version 8. This doesn't make any sense at all! We need the answers to this issue, please.

    premiere elements 12
Assuming Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit for now....
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to the 12.1 Update yet? If not, please do so from an opened new project's Help Menu/Update. Is your computer connected to the Internet?
In some cases, I have seen where Premiere Elements will need to do a one time activation of a feature. Rendering may be the feature in your case.
There have been several reports from users of Premiere Elements 8 and earlier about messages for MPEG2 activation that cannot be done because Adobe no longer supports MPEG2 Activation for Premiere Elements 8 and earlier. But, you have version 12.
    What I would suggest is
    1. Uninstall the program the usual Control Panel way
    2. Do a free ccleaner run through
    CCleaner - Download
    3. Reinstall the program with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled....be sure of the integrity of your Internet connection.
You could try before the above the deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file or the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
Please review and consider and then we will plan further troubleshooting strategy accordingly.

  • Premiere Elements 8 - Audio Stops

    Hey all,
I'm working on a video for my YouTube channel and when I try to play it in Premiere (in the timeline or in the preview window) the audio cuts off around 1:04. It's an MOD file that I recorded with a Canon FS200 camcorder. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 531S running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2. I've replayed the same file on the camera itself and in Windows Media Player and I heard the audio all the way through. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Alex

How fast is your processor and how much RAM do you have? Have you freshly defragmented your hard drive?
When you shot your video, did you ensure that it was shot in XP mode?
When you started your Premiere Elements project, did you select the project settings for a Hard Disk standard definition camcorder?

  • Premiere Elements 9 Memory Issue

    Hi,
I use Premiere 9 under 7-64 with 12G RAM (processor i5). I often have, after some tens of minutes of working the following message (translated from French) : "The memory allocated to Premiere is saturated. Take care".
3.6Go are allocated (mostly by Premiere), all the rest is free.

    Hi,
Ok for Premiere Elements 9.01, but I already have it. For the Lean machine, I have a very stable and optimised machine because it's main usage is recording and mixing music with Cubase 6 and this needs a PC in good health (and it works perfectly).
For the memory chapter, as I have 12G of RAM, I don't think that any setting of the swap file would be an issue.
Are you using photographs in your project? The most common cause for
this message that the photos in your project are larger than 1000x750
    pixels in size.
Yes, I use 8Mp photos. I will resample them in PSP before importing.
The second most common cause is that your project needs to be rendered.
Yes, you are right. As I work in HD, I use rendering and I will try to correlate this with the error message.
    Thanks for the advices.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Audio Issues

We have been testing Premiere CS6 on our first job for the last week. However, we are running into some major audio issues:
    1. When clip is loaded into the source viewer, and you jump to through the cilp, the audio lags behind until you stop and wait a few seconds for the audio to catch up. This is a major hinderance when trying to edit quickly with clients in session. This also happens on the timeline when jumping around. These problems never occured in Avid or FCP running the same media.
    2. With no rhyme or reason, the audio (from source and timeline) sometimes just doesnt play. The meteres will be moving and the video will play, but the audio wont be coming out. Sometimes you hear a noise as if someone was playing with the audio cables. Also, sometimes the meters dont even move, to suggest there is no audio again video is playing, when infact there is.
These problems have occured accros multiple machines, with media running from both our server, and local hard drives. Our facility runs a NAS that pushes 110/MB/s over ethernet from a 16TB RAID6 (that is SAS connected to the server). One machine is running OSX 10.8, with Black Magic Intensity Pro, 20GB Ram, NVidia Quadro 4000. Another is running OSX 10.8, with AJA IO Express, 16GB Ram, NVidia 4000. and the last is running 10.6.8 with Black Magic Intesnsity Pro, 12GB ram, and NVidia GTX something or other (unsupported card).
Has anyone else gotten these issues? Like i said, i have tested the media from the server and from the local hard drives. We are pushing Apple Pro Res HQ, have also tested Pro Res LT, Pro Res 444 and Canon H.264.

For me it wasn't a RAM issue, I had more than enough to process the audio I had in my project.  This quote from a Creative Cow post worked for me.
"Try deleting your .cfa files for the media in question, and then don't mess with the project until they are done re-conforming."
    Here's the original post:
    http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/926011
I don't know how to figure out which .cfa files are associated to specific media files, so I just went to where they were cached and deleted all of them.  Open your project again and you'll see a little yellow bar in the lower left-hand corner of the Timeline window showing  that it's re-conforming your media.  Don't even think of touching the computer while it's doing this... I was so paranoid that I didn't do anything else (check e-mail, open a web browser, work on a Word doc, etc.) until Premiere was totally finished.  After that my audio played fine for the rest of the project.
One thing that's tricky and took me a while to figure out is that if you're using multiple drives, you have to be careful to make sure you're getting ALL of the .cfa files.  If you've set the project to cache your files on a external drive, and then open a  project on a different drive without having that external connected, Premiere will set the cache folder to its default location (usually on your host computer's main hard drive).  I didn't realize this, and had the audio drop-out issue, so I deleted the .cfa files but the drop-out didn't go away.  I found out that Premiere had reset my media cache folder, and had cached the corrupted .cfa files on my main hard drive.  Once I deleted them there and let the computer re-conform, the  audio played well again.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

  • Premiere Elements 13 - some issues

So I've been playing around a little with the new Premiere Elements 13 trial. I didn't use the last version for any lengthy period, but I like to try out every new version of Elements to see if I like it. I jotted down a few notes as I was messing around:
    - Can't use ALT + Mouse Wheel to zoom in/out of timeline (I find this extremely useful in Premiere Pro and other editors)
    - Can't use C or S to split a clip. Have to use CTRL+K (!), or click a scissor icon on the playhead.
    - The font browser does not list each font in it's own font style. You have to click each individual font to see what it looks like.
    - Can't type the name of a font, you have to manually scroll to find it.
    - I couldn't get the Animations for titles to work. I could select the thumbnail for the animation, but the Apply button is always greyed out, no matter what I do.
    - Very limited options for text, no kerning or leading, no custom stroke, shadow, etc.
    - Seems a bit buggy. I couldn't get the Vignetting effect to work. I fiddled with all the settings on both a video clip and a still image, and it just didn't do anything.
    - There were some weird instances where icons went kinda screwy. Like once or twice when I was editing text, it would highlight both Left and Center text alignment icons indicating that I had both of those features turned on at once (!?). Other times the window redraw seemed a little sluggish and glitchy.
    - Whenever I try to add an effect from the Hollywood Looks menu, it brings up a warning that all my previous effects on that clip will be deleted. However it will let me add those same effects *after* applying Hollywood Looks.
    - When you click a menu item (File, Edit, Clip, etc), you cannot move the mouse left or right to automatically open the next menu item. You have to individually click File, Edit, Clip, etc, to open those menus.
    - Everything about the interface is geared towards tablet use, so you end up using the mouse a lot more on a PC to click this button and that button.

    - Can't use C or S to split a clip. Have to use CTRL+K (!), or click a scissor icon on the playhead.
You can do what ATR suggests. Change the keyboard shortcuts wherever required.
    - The font browser does not list each font in it's own font style. You have to click each individual font to see what it looks like.
Could you let me know what fonts do not appear the same on the monitor as in the thumbnails?

How were you trying to apply the effect and what do you see when you do so? Did you play around with all the sliders and still see no difference on the monitor? Is there a difference you see when you click on the monitor after applying the effect/changing the parameters through the slider?
    - Whenever I try to add an effect from the Hollywood Looks menu, it brings up a warning that all my previous effects on that clip will be deleted. However it will let me add those same effects *after* applying Hollywood Looks.
This is because of how the Hollywood Looks are designed to be used. Since these are effect presets (multiple effects in combination) that result in a specific "look"; they are best applied in isolation. If any previous effect is applied and we still allow a Hollywood effect to be applied, we will not be able to see what the effect does clearly. For e.g. if you already have a Gaussian Blur effect applied to your clip, and then we allow you to apply the "Red Noir" Hollywood effect, the fact that the "Reds" in the scenes will be highlighted and the others converted to B/W will not be clearly seen since the content is already blurred out. So any previously applied effects was designed to be removed. This holds good even if you apply a Hollywood look "on top of" another one. The previous one will be replaced. Having said that, you can customize the look further by either tweaking an already applied filter or by adding a newer effect on top. That is the reason you can apply an effect on top of the Hollywood Effects and not vice versa.

We have made a note of this behavior and agree that this is not ideal.
