Premiere elements 11 dvd production

Premiere Elements 11 When I burn a video to  a dvd, the picture comes out small. I have used Premiere elements 4 and  never had this problem.

squaredance
I did some homework on your camera and its video. If you are working with video and not stills from that camera, you are dealing with video 640 x 480 with ?probably MPEG-4 ASP video compression/container?
As a first pass on this I would
1. Open a new project and set the project preset for
NTSC
FLIP
Flip Mino and Ultra 30p
To do that, open a new project. Go to File Menu/New/Project and set the project preset as mentioned.
Before exiting the final dialog there, make sure to have a check mark next to "Force Seletect Project Setting on This Project".
Then, when you are back in the Premiere Elements 11 Expert workspace, import your video with Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the video into the Timeline Video 1 Track.
2. Does your video fill the monitor in the Edit area? Do you have no colored line over the content on the Timeline?
3. When you go to burn to disc
Publish+Share
Disc
DVD
disc with preset = NTSC_Dolby DVD
4. What does that look like when played back on the DVD player attached to your TV?
If you have used Premiere Elements 4 before, two areas of confusion might be
a. selecting the correct project preset
b. setting the correct project preset
Please review and then let us know if that worked for you.
SG had already asked the important questions to get at this type of suggestion. But your reply needed to be supplemented to get at the details that would help us to help you.
The above should work for you. SG might have yet another solution for you.

  • Premiere Elements 9 DVD's won't play in Sony players

This problem spans "Pre 3, Pre7, and Pre9" where the DVD's made on any of these versions will NOT play in any of the three Sony DVD players we have. I upgraded from ver 3 to ver 9 (trying 7 on the way) to solve this problem but NO luck. Adobe tech. sent me to this forum to find the answer but no luck, here's what I've got.
The video I'm trying to burn was captured by "Pre 3" from my digital 8 camera of my grandson (home movie)
Tried the DVD's in our Sony's with no luck but the DVD will play in our Panasonic and on all of our computers.
Updated the firmware in one of the two DVD burners in my computer to see if that made a difference . . .NO. . . (burned a DVD with 3,7,9 ver. on two different burners, no luck
Loaded the same video into Roxio 8 and did a "SIMPLE" burn to a DVD and it will Play in anything i put it in.
I've got 13 grandchildren and a lot of digital 8 movies of them I want to share through DVD's but Premiere Elements is putting the stops to that. The only way I see to solve the problem is to do all my burning with Roxio and not use the DVD burning portion of Premiere
    Can anyone HELP?

In your workflow, the variable seems to be the physical Burn. PrE creates 100% DVD-compliant files in the VIDEO_TS folder, and that is shown by using Nero (or Roxio, or ImgBurn). Same files - good discs.
For me, one of the biggest weakness in the total DVD (or BD) authoring process with PrE is its choice of burn speed, and no ability to alter that down. The thinking, at least as I interpret it, is that getting the process done as quickly, as is possible, is a boon to the user. I feel that it is not. For the few moments that are saved in the Burning process, if one has to re-do just one disc, that is lost. The biggest time consumer is the Transcoding step, and not the physical Burning.
I happen to use another Adobe program, Encore, which does allow me to adjust the Burn speed. If I did not, I would always use ImgBurn, as it allows that speed change, plus it writes pure files. From some descriptions, Nero and Roxio both alter things slightly. Usually, that will make no difference, but many have had issues. One area, where these issues can arise, is when one tries to Import the resultant VOB's into a program, like PrE, or PrPro, is that they do not Import perfectly all of the time. That is because they are no longer 100% DVD-compliant, though the files fed to it, probably are. I cannot give specifics of where the changes are made, as I do not know either program, let alone their inner workings. Maybe others can provide useful details here.
Good luck, and I hope that the use of another Burning utility will get you 100% playable discs, but just remember that no DVD player is certified to play ANY burned disc - only commercially replicated disc, which are produced by pressing with glass masters - totally different, than Burning.

  • ?Difficulty with GET MEDIA in Premiere Elements 4; DVD import

In Premiere Elements 4, I attempted to import video footage off a DVD. I insert the DVD, click on GET MEDIA, then select DVD from the options list.
I get the message ADOBE PHOTO DOWNLOADER HAS STOPPED WORKING; a problem caused programme to stop working.
I have reinstalled Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and used the repair option with my Premiere Elemets 4 disc with no improvement.I would value help!
    Many thanks!

I would address the OS problems first. When things start going wonky in the OS, there can be a ripple effect, where portions of programs stop functioning, at least as they should. Before you go after those "ripples," try to solve what might be causing them.
Now for your DVD (after the OS issues are addressed), PE can Import, i.e. rip from many DVD's. However, there CAN be problems with some. PE is working with the VOB's and these can contain more than just the MPEG-2 Video and Audio. They can also contain alternate Audio, Menus and Sub-Menus, Subtitles, etc. These can give even the most sophisticaed ripping software fits. PE's ripping capabilities are limited, though when they work, they work pretty well. Here is a LINK to an article by Jeff Bellune, in the Encore forum. While it's goal is to get DVD material into Encore for authoring another DVD, most applies to getting the material into an NLE, like PE. Here is a LINK to the PrPro-wiki with FAQ's on DVD.
Get the OS issues straightened out first, then take a look at the provided links, in case PE still has problems with the DVD.
    Good luck,

  • Premiere Elements 11: DVD Burn horrible quality.

    Hello!
I am having issues with getting a decent playback on a video I cut together for a friend.
It involves video shot with some high resolution images inserted in the bottom corners.
When I save as a .mpg file the quality is great, but when I choose burn to DVD with high quality both the video and images are extremely blurry and look to have been made low resolution.
There is only about two minutes of video so available space is not a concern. I've also unchecked "Fit Contents to available space". Is there a fix or work-around for getting a better quality DVD burn?
Edit: After more research I seem to have come across a common problem in that Premiere Elements cannot burn a decent quality DVD without using certain settings that unfortunately can only be played on Blu-ray players. I'm still hopeful that someone, somewhere, has found a way to get it to work with better results than sub-par.

Problems with the same symptoms can (often do) have different causes. The answers are in the details.
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements running on?
A just in case note at the onset....DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc has a frame size of 720 x 480 (NTSC) or 720 x 576 (PAL) whether
    DVD-VIDEO standard 4:3 or standard widescreen 16:9. "HD video" can have frame size of 1280 x 720, 1920 x 1080, or 1440 x 1080 HD anamorphic 16:9 which is stretched to 1920 x 1080 for display after encoding.
What are the properties of the source media on that Timeline - video and audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced
or progressive, file extension, pixel aspect ratio?
What is the project's project preset that you or the project is setting? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General Editing Mode, Timebase,
Frame Size. The program does not always give the "right" setting and defaults to 1080i which may not be a good match for your source.
Then you set the project preset yourself and then import the source.
If interlaced video source, field order may enter into the equation since DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc is characterized by interlaced video, lower field first.
You talk about what sounds like picture in picture. What are the pixel dimensions of these photos that you are using for the picture in picture. How many of them are there in this Timeline?
You are not doing yourself any favors leaving "Fit Content to Available Space" unchecked. More on that later and advise put a check mark for that option. Important...when you are in the burn dialog for your typical project, what does the Quality Area there show for Space Required and Bitrate (with and without a check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space"?)
What are selecting for your preset standard 4:3 or standard widescreen 16:9 type, and is your program install for NTSC or PAL.
Let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • Asking for Premiere Elements as qualifying product...

Ok so I am trying to install Premiere Pro CS5 but after I enter the serial number it is asking me for the serial number of Premiere Elements 4, 7 or 8. I have PE 9 which is really annoying because I wasn't told about this. Is there any way to get around the problem?

  • Premiere Elements 11 dvd freezes

My video freezes in playback in the dvd player.  When I first installed the program, no issues.  Now, 6 months later, it's happening.  What should I do?  Increased my ram to 12gb, turned off the antivirus and screen saver, but it still happens 90% of the time.

    yeldar76
I read your latest post and saw your comment that you now suspect the burner to be at the core of your issue. If so, have you tried the routine of burn to Folder (4.7 GB) instead of the burn to disc? That should take the burner out of the equation and help to pin point the issue. You would then take only the VIDEO_TS from the burn to folder and use a free program such as ImgBurn to take the VIDEO_TS to a DVD-R disc in the correct disc file system.
If you do not already have ImgBurn on your computer, you need to consider the source of the download. The latest version at the parent site appears to be prone to bloatware and unwanted downloads accompanying the download of the free ImgBurn. If you do pursue this for troubleshooting, you might check out the following web site for the download
    http://imgburn.en.softonic.com/
It claims to be pre-tested for viruses.
As for what you have done, the first case 7.73 Mbps bitrate and 4.38 GB space, tells me that the program as had to lower the bitrate (decrease the file size) in order to make the fit on the disc. Remember, the disc spec'd for 4.7 GB capacity is in reality 4.38 GB. Even though the bitrate is lower than maximum in this case, its impact on end product quality might not be significant. Needs looking at. The burn to process works off a variable bitrate principle so that the bitrate, even if set at max. 8.00 Mbps, will not be 8.00 Mbps over the end product.
Please let us know if the burn to folder has or will help us define the core of the issue.
We can also revisit any considerations for closer inspection of the Timeline content for fragments, leftovers, etc.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 12, Project settings to burn a DVD

    Hi,
I'm a little confused about the project settings. I try to burn a DVD of 3 mpg-files. Here is a screenshot of the file info's, also one of the project settings:
According to the file information, I think the settings are correct, though the timeline shows an orange bar.
All files have the same informations.
When I go to finish the project to burn it on a DVD (output setting is PAL_Dolby DVD) it takes at least 14 hours, I don't think this is normal.
My system is a Macbook Pro, OS 10.9.1, 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM.
Any ideas what is wrong here?
    Thank you in advance.
    Jessie

    Jessie
Great news with your troubleshooting. Great job.
Let us now look at what you wrote
The only thing that's left now is why I'm not able to save a project when I added one of my self created menue template
from the point of view of
    a. how you created the menu template
    and
    b. where you placed it
    Creation of the menus...
    a. What did you put in the theme folder...just the main menu .psd file and scene menu.psd file or more? What were the exact names that you gave the main menu .psd file and scene menu .psd file? What program did you use to create your menus? We will get to the Layer Set structure in the Layers Palette of the .psd file(s) next if necessary.
    b. I do not have a Mac computer so I cannot talk in terms of .psd file location in Mac. I will now talk in terms of Windows and hope that you can translate the following into the right Mac location for the theme files (assumed also .psd type).
    Local Disk C
    Program Files
    Adobe
    Adobe Premiere Elements 12
    DVD Templates
    Common
and, in the Common Folder, create a new folder named My Specials. In the My Specials Folder create a new folder named My XXX Theme. Inside the XXX Theme Folder goes the XXX .psd files and other theme assets.
In Windows, the menu theme (Slideshow/Pan and Zoom) that comes with the program is found in the above location. The menus that require Content download are in the Windows Program Data path that leads to the Online Folder. I do not want you to use that latter path counterpart in your Mac.
But let me ask this basic questions...
    a. After you have placed the menu that you created in the computer, when you open Premiere Elements 12, do you see that menu in Movie Menu Display of menu choices
    b. If so, can you click on its choice, hit Continue, and have the theme appear in the Movie Menu customization area of the opened project
    c. If so, can you Preview the customized or uncustomized menu there and does it look good.
    d. When all is done, how many main menu pages and how many scene selection pages do you have?
Let us start here, review the above, and then decide what next.
    Thank you.
    ATR
Add On...Additional focus may be computer resources, placement of Timeline markers, and spacing between Timeline markers, as well as fine details of Layer Sets in the Layers Palette of the .psd file, whatever else you may be placing in the Theme Folder of the menu that you made yourself.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 & Premiere Elements 12 serial number.

    Hi,
The combined Photoshop Elements 12 & Premiere Elements 12 DVD package that I have bought does not have a serial number that will work to install the software. The serial number on the box does not have enough digits (it has 18), there is no insert card, and the envelopes containing the DVD's have no numbers at all.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thank you
    Tom

It was an Amazon purchase - I checked the receipt but Amazon haven't supplied any kind of code for it. I was hoping it would be on a sticker on the DVD sleeves like the copy of Lightroom I bought, but these are just blank sleeves. Maybe a batch has got out without the numbers in there.
I have talked to Amazon and they are sending me another box tomorrow, so I will see if that one has a serial number or code. If it does not I will have to return it and try a download instead.
Thank you both for your responses, I will let you know how it goes ...

  • Issue burning DVD in premiere elements 13

    To shortly summerize my problem:
When I try to burn a DVD premere elements is not really working like it should imho:
At 98% it first gave an error that there were no plugin DLL's. Disk was ejected but useless.
Second and third go it gave an error at 98% indicating that the writespeed was incorrect. Error message was wider then the container showing the message.
Tried burning an DVD ISO to harddisk instead: no errors but also no file. Doublechecked file location, reburned, same issue
Tried to encode to MP4 to harddisk: no issues
Tried reinstalling premiere elements: same issues
Does anyone have a good idea on what to try next?
    My computerspecs are as follows:
    win8.1 x64
    4790Ti
    8gb ram
No dedicated video card: intel hd graphics 4600
simple 8 speed usb DVD burner (keep in mind it also won't burn ISO files to harddrive...)
Computer fully patched and up to date, including latest quicktime
Obviously premiere elements 13, but the Dutch version.

    Petter01
Juergen may have hit on a critical matter as it relates to the success or failure of Premiere Elements 13 and its Burn To: Blu-ray ISO Image (25 GB).
Other ISO Image opportunities (for DVD and AVCHD) in Premiere Elements 13 have not yet been brought into the matter.
For many posts, Juergen has been reporting that he can generate a  Premiere Elements 13.iso image for Blu-ray, but when the .iso is taken to disc, the player does not recognize
the disc content. Only recently has he mentioned that the issue seems to be related to the file size of the .iso image produced. He said that if the Premiere Elements 13 iso file exceeded about 1.1 GB, the Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc produced in ImgBurn could not be read by the players.
Last night, I checked into that to see if I could confirm Juergen's observation. I have. This is a serious setback for Premiere Elements 13 which finally offers an Blu-ray ISO Image as an alternative to the Burn To: Disc product.
    So, for you to confirm.....
    1. Are you doing Publish+Share/Disc/DVD with Burn To: = ISO Image?
    2. If so, are you actually seeing an .iso image generated and saved to your computer hard drive?
If so, what is the file size of the .iso file produced?
    3. What is the file size for the DVD .iso file that you take into ImgBurn for burn to DVD disc to the correct disc files system,
is the disc content recognized by your player? If so, what player.
    Thanks.

  • Can I use Premiere Elements 11 to make a on/off DVD subtitle?

I want to burn a DVD with an on/off sub-title option using Adobe Elements 11 (Windows 64 bit), is this possible?

    Sminty
If you mean subtitles that the viewer can turn on or off at playback of the Premiere Elements disc product, the answer is No.
You can keyframe the Opacity of titles in a video project so that they appear and reappear in the video at playback. But, that is something built into the video and not
something that a viewer of the DVD can control.
Any questions or need clarification, please ask.
    Thank you.

  • All but 1 theme per group disappeared after Premiere Elements 4.0 crashed on start of burn to DVD

I have a project that is approximately 1 hour in length.  This is the first project I am attempting to burn.  I assigned a theme to the project and then proceeded to burn a DVD.  Before the burn could actually start, PE crashed with a "blue screen" dump.  I rebooted in Windows safe mode, then rebooted back into normal Windows mode.  When I started PE and opened the project, nearly all of the themes were missing!  It appears that only one theme per group remained.
What would have removed or hid the themes?  I would have also expected all or none of the themes, rather than leaving just one per group.  I was using a template in the "General" group, but the one that remained after the crash is not the one I had assigned to my project.
Does a reinstall restore the templates?   If so, can I reinstall PE 4.0 from my CD without erasing, distroying, or losing the current projects I have created?
Thanks in advance for your comments!

    Hunt,
Before diving into the details of the items in the article, I did a few of the basic things:
    stopped my anti-virus product (doh!)
stopped the temperature monitor software (doh!)
    did a quick disk cleanup
turned off all trivial stuff in msconfig
I rebooted the system and started Premiere Elements.  I had not attempted to reload the templates at that point, so I proceeded to "Burn to DVD".  I selected the minimal quality and started the burn.  That worked!   Next I exited PE and restarted it and then was able to successfully "Burn to DVD"  using the max setting for quality. As expected, it took a while to finish, but it also completed successfully!  The resulting DVD looks and sounds great, so the rendering and burn phases seem to be working fine on my hardware.
I noticed on the CD that there is an option to load the themes, so I am going to try loading that today.  I'll post more comments after I get the themes reloaded in case there are other steps involved in restoring those within the program.

  • Premiere Elements 3 doesn't see my DVD drives?

    Hi
I have been using PE3 for a long time.
I just got a new computer running Windows 7 64 bit.
I thought that PE3 was working great until I got ready to write my production to DVD.
When I get to that point I get the "No DVD drive detected" message.
I have two DVD writers in my computer both are working normally.
I put a blank DVD in each of them but no matter what I do PE3 doesn't see them.
When I click on the drop down it is blank.
Anyone have any ideas how I can get Elements to see my drives?
If this fails, can I write the project to a folder (that seems to work OK) and then just copy the project to a DVD from there?
    Any help welcome
    Mike

Many considerations in your present situation, but for now I will leave you with a link to the free 30 day Premiere Elements 8.0 tryout from Adobe.
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_elements&loc=en_us
Top of the list for getting started on the right foot with version 8.0
    a. Download and install the Premiere Elements 8.0.1 Update (Patch)
    b. Turn of the Background Rendering (that should be done automatically by the installation of the 8.0.1 Update) but check anyway...Premiere Elements workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/General.
    c. Turn of the AutoAnalyzer Feature (See Elements Organizer workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalyzer Options)
There are users out there successfully using Premiere Elements 8.0.1.
I do not work for Adobe nor have any affliation with them. I will take another look at your Premiere Elements 3.0.2 issue and see if I can come up with any worthwhile suggestions.

Add On....If you can burn to folder successfully, take just the VIDEO_TS Folder from the saved folder and burn that to a DVD disc using a program such as Nero (Burn Video Files category, not Make Data Disc) or the free program IMGBurn (strange program but effective for the purpose) using the Write files/folders to disc category. In either case, the VIDEO_TS will be burn to the DVD disc with the right file system for DVD-VIDEO on a DVD disc.

  • Creating DVD Templates buttons for use in Premiere Elements

I have tried to create buttons for use in the "DVD create template" function.
Everything goes fine apart from the fact that, when I add the button (within the wizard) it becomes part of the background.
Does anybody out there know if it is possible to create new buttons in PE4.0 and, if yes, how to do it?
    Thanks

Even though this function is in PS Elements 4, I suggest that you look in the Premiere Elements forum where you might find an existing thread on this topic. If not, ask your question there because the primary audience for this function is people who have both products.
