Premiere Elements 11 - online-content-download not working

Download of online-Content (movie-menues etc.) is not working. Are the Servers down?

Are you doing one at a time and getting failure or are you hitting the All choice for the Content with the blue ban at its upper right corner?
Have you checked the following areas to determine if the problem is targeted at one type of Content?
Graphics Tab for Clip Arts
Tools Menu or Tools Tab for DVD Templates
Instant Movies Tab for Movie Themes
Title & Text Tab for Title Templates
Just trying to determine the specificity of the problem - All versus selected areas.
I have found that, at best, the Content download from within the project is a labored and slow process, depending on your Internet connection and Internet speed. Unfortunately there is no alternative since there is no more Content disc when you purchase the box product. But you can save the Online Folder (after download - completed version) to a USB Flash Drive (8 GB capacity) after the first program install so that you can use that for Content for the second install of  Premiere Elements 11 on another computer or in the case where you need to uninstall reinstall Premiere Elements and its Content on one computer. The file size of the completed Online Folder is expected to be about 6 GB.

    HI,
    When we try to download any online content from within Adobe Premiere elements (e.g. scores, titles etc) , it sits at '0B or 0B' and does not download.
    This has happened since installing the latest update.
    I am wondering if there is any way to get this to work again?  Is there a way to download all of the content from a webapage and import into Premiere Elements?
    We are using a Win 8 Laptop, with IE and Chrome installed, but IE set as default.  Security settings are at their default.  We are a school, so are behind a firewall and filter, but this didn't stop things before,and we have added extensions  for adobe.com etc to this (but can't seem to find any IP addresses/addresses of the download server so we can whitelist these just in case).
    Any ideas what we can do?

    Thanks for the reply.
    If the core of the issue goes to your school's network security and you can take the computer outside the school network into your home network with security you can disable and with administrator privileges, that has high prospects of being the solution.
    You would need to go to each of the categories with the thumbnails with the blue bands. Then right click one of them, select Download All instead of Download Now and wait for automatic completion for the content under that particular category. You would do the same for the other categories needing the content download reflected by the blue banded thumbnails.
    It can be time consuming but it might be a solution in your situation.
    One way or the other we gain ....if this works, then the school security is pointed to; if this does not work, then other factors need to be identified.
    But, please clarify
    It does seem strange that this has been blocked/happened after the update to elements a few weeks ago- it was downloading ok before then.
    Are you there referring to the school based content download within the program (assumed 12 or 13). If so, consider a uninstall reinstall to get you back to 12 or 13 non updated - do the content down - then decide whether or not to update the version.

  • Premiere Elements 10 content will not download?

    Every time I launch the program it says I don't have the content installed. It says to insert the CD or download, I purchased a download version so I try to download and it asks me to select a folder and opens a browse window but no matter what folder I tell it to download it say to select a different folder and try again, even if I create a folder on the desktop it does the same - yes, I am using admin - any suggestions?

    I am just starting my day. As soon as possible I will try to download that Premiere Elements 10 Content to my Windows 7 or 8 64 bit computer and see what problems I run into.
    What is your download choice - All Content or one of the groups at a time?
    I just did the download of just "Content 3....." without problem. The process initially required that I download the Akamai NetSession Interface which I did. Then I got the Browse for Folder message. At that time, I selected Desktop, New Folder which I named PE10 Group 3. The download proceeded to completion successfully.
    Next I will try for the All Content download and see if I can get beyond the Browse for Folder message.
    Keep in mind that my Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit has far less resources than your computer and that I did not stop to turn off firewalls or anti-virus for this test run.
    I will report back very soon with further results. I am located on the east coast of the USA and, at this moment, that link to the Premiere Elements 10 Content seems to be OK. Internet connection is DSL (not highest speed).

    Add On...the results for going the All download representing 2.95 GB, instead of just one group at a time, route was the same, that is, no problems with the request for designate a folder and the creation of that folder to accept the download.

  • Premiere Elements12 "Online Content Download" problem ?

    Using Win7 64bit and have Adobe Creative Suite 4 Premium including Premiere Pro CS4 operating on same PC without any problems. Recently purchased from Adobe and downloaded PE12 as an upgrade from PE8.  Previously Premiere Elements 8 and CS4 operated same computer without problems
    On each occasion after I open PE12 and attempt to drag a audio or graphic file into the timeline, the programs stops to download an 18meg "online content download" before the audio or graphic file becomes active (after download) but only so long as  the program remains open. Have tried reinstalling PE12, same problem repeats.

    You can get All the Content of a particular category using the Download All option after you right click one of the thumbnails. Then it is a matter of whether or not you want to wait for the processes to complete with the project or opened or download in background with project opened.
    I have not found one button for a Download All and then wait for that to happen in the background or otherwise for All the categories including Instant Movie, Titles & Text, Audio, and Graphics. It has been one category at a time, re-starting the process to be described.

    b. Status of Adobe Server
    What particular movie menu are you trying to download? All those questions being asked, please review the following being presented just to establish a baseline and try to address your question
    How do I tell PE12 to go get all of the content in one go or does it just do that in the background?
    In Premiere Elements 12, under Titles & Text Tab there are the choices for that category. You select the one you want and right click the blue ban at the top right of the selected thumbnail. From the pop up, you select Download Now or Download All.
    If I select Download All, I have found that All is referring just to the Content choices under Titles & Text and not all the categories that require this type of download, like Instant Movie, Titles & Text, Audio, and Graphics.
    When I select Download All, I get the following....

    And, I select Download in background if I wish to do something else while the process completes. Can take hours depending on Internet connection and Adobe server and Content to be downloaded.
    (I selected Titles & Text for this demo since I had already done the download for Tools/Movie Menu.)

    Have you looked at closing your large project (with Tools/Movie Menu left at no menu - Reset if you have applied the one menu that comes with the program without download required)
    Opening a new project and doing nothing but going to Tools/Movie Menu and doing the Content download using Download Now for the immediate need or Download All? Close out of that program...does not need to be saved. Open your large project and apply your movie menu.

  • Premiere Elements 10 Video Preview Not Working

    I have all my project setting correct but when I import a clip and try to preview it all I see is a white screen.  The audio plays but the video does not.
    System Specs:
    Quicktime 7.7
    Windows 8.1 64-bit
    EVGA GeForce 780 Ti
    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition
    I've updated all my drivers but I can't seem to figure out what wrong in any of the other threads.
    Can I please get some help with a solution?

    The odds are that you will need to roll back your NVIDIA GeForce 780 Ti driver version as far back as necessary to get your Premiere Elements 10 Windows working again. All the details are in the Announcement at the top of this forum. But, if you have questions or need clarification on any of this, please do not hesitate to let me know.
    Again, the answer to this issue targeted at the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA user is not to update the driver to the latest version, but instead to roll it back.

    Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.

  • Premiere Elements 12 Effects-Panel not working

    Hi there!
    I've recently updated to Elements 12 (from 10) and I am more or less happy, but since today, I can't use the effects-panel anymore. When I click any effect, the options won't pop up (see attached screenshot).
    Does anyone know what to do?
    I'm running the latest version of OS X and Premiere Elements.

    It seems that you have made some progress. Please compare the first screenshot, apparently before uninstall/restall. Note that all you get for Color is Hue. Whereas, in the second screenshot, apparently after uninstall/reinstall, you now have Color with Hue, Lightness, Saturation, and Vibrance.
    And, your screenshot of fx Effects/Generate/Lens Flare shows just one effect which what is to be expected. There is only one choice there. Are you saying that you cannot apply that effect to your clip?
    Baseline questions.
    Premiere Elements 12. Have you switched from 12 to the 12.1 Update via the program's Help Menu/Updates? If not, please do so.
    Are you working in the Expert workspace or Quick workspace of the program? The answer to that might cut down on the expectations.

    It is well known the Premiere Elements Mac does not have all the effects of Premiere Elements Windows, but I do not think this is a Mac Windows matter. But, SG is a Mac user and can confirm that possible aspect of the matter.
    This is what I am suggesting
    After updating from 12 to 12.1
    1. Delete the Premiere Elements 12 Mac Settings File.

    By the way, do you have QuickTime installed on your computer; running program Run As Adminstrator and from User Account with Administrative Privileges? Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
    How long did you work with Premiere Elements 12 before you saw this problem...the very start, never worked or it worked for a while but then did not work?

  • Premiere Elements 9 plug-in not working

    Premiere Elements 9 (MAC) is finding my plug-in "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS5/MediaCore" and I can see it on the spash screen when loading.
    But I can't find my plugin anywhere in Premiere Elements.
    I tried putting the EffectPreview file in with the plug-in, but that didn't work.
    Where do the EffectPreview .png files go?
    Are they named the same as with Premiere Elements 8 on Windows?

    I've got my plug-in working with Premiere Elements 9 on Windows, but not yet on MAC.
    I've set Architectures to "32-bit universal", but I get compile errors.

    I don't know why those links are still there, since they haven't worked for years.
    That download might not work with your serial anyway.
    Your best bet is to find some way to copy the install files from your install dvd to your new computer.
    A friend. local computer store or even the library might let you transfer the files to a usb or flash drive.

    Downloaded trial version but it will not function.Have tried chat pod help with no success.From opening screen the organiser works and functions ok. The video editor does not function either for existing projects or new projects. The moving bar scrolls for about 120 secs then stops and nothing happens.Thinking of purchasing this program but want to trial it first. Any help please.

    At the time that PrE ceases to function, do you have any warning, or error messages in your Windows Event Viewer?
    If you do, and any have links in them, please follow those links, as they might yield useful clues. Unfortunately, many such warning, and error messages will just be meaningless code, but the ones with links can lead to a cause, such as a low-level driver interfering with the OS.
    Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?), most users do not have similar problems, so can only offer some broad suggestions, based on problems, about which we have read. I know that it looks like we're throwing out a lot of "stuff," and I guess that we are, but so far, nothing in your system, or setup is really jumping off the screen. We have eliminated, via your tests, many common issues.
    Wish that we had something concrete to offer, and maybe an Adobe Staff member will jump in, and spot something that the rest of us are missing. What you describe, when most potential causes have been eliminated, sounds like a conflict with a real-time scanning anti-virus, anti-malware, or anti-something program. With the real-time scanning anti programs, they have a tendency to "lock" files, that are necessary to run PrE, on both reads and writes, but you have turned OFF all such programs, so I am now at a loss. Sorry.
    Good luck, and I agree with you, that if the trial does not run on the system, buying the full-paid version is likely to encounter the same issue(s), and render the program unusable.

    I have seen the other thread(s) about this - but I was wondering if anybody knows why the downloads fail. It says MainStage was unable to complete the download, or the download appears to be complete but nothing happens- I assume it should be a package or an installer?

  • Help with Premiere Elements 3.0,  won't work with Win7 Home Prem 64bit

    Does anybody knows if there's a patch or update for Premiere Elements 3.0 for Win7 Home Premium 64bit?  This software is a little bit old, but works great with my WinXP pro.  When I upgraded to Win7 Home, 64bit, Premiere Elements 3.0 would not work at all.  At first, I thought it was my hardware, but the software just crashed even without any video capture devices connected to my computer.  Any help is appreciated.

    Well, there's no guarantee version 3 will work on Windows 7 at all -- let alone the 64-bit version.
    Have you installed the 3.02 patch for the software? That makes it Vista compatible -- and if anything will make it work, that will.
    Otherwise -- and assuming you've got the latest firmware for your video card and the latest version of Quicktime -- if it doesn't work for you, it simply may not. Sorry.

    It is not clear what you mean.  Normally one does not generate a serial number, it is provided with the purchase.

  • Online content download failure

    I have Elements Premiere 12 on a Windows 7 Pro system.
    I am trying to add a DVD Movie Menu and after selecting a menu a popup appears
         "Online Content Download"   "Downloaded  0B of 0B"
    then another popup appears:
         "The Download failed.  Either the server is currently unavailable, or your computer
          is disconnected from the internet.  Check your connection and try again."
    I have been trying this over the past day without success.
    What can the problem be?

    Yes I found Options dialog/Advanced/Network and did Clear Now with no affect:
    I found the Download Now / Download All option by RIght-click on a Theme, still getting errors:

    The one theme that works is Slideshows > Pan and Zoom which I found inC:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 12\DVD Templates\Common\Slideshows\Pan and Zoom

    In Firefox I tried to browse to http://ns.adobe.com/PREContent/11.0/  but but an error Sorry, this page is not available.
    I tried moving a theme directory (e.g. Movie Genre\Musical) from c:\ProgramData\Adobe to the c:\Program Files\Adobe directory.  Premiere did not try to download, but no Menu appeared.
    All the directories that I checked in c:\ProgramData\Adobe have a metadata.xml file with the same content as above.

    I would like to offers some suggestions for when there is a gap in the troubleshooting plan that you and SG are engaged in.
    At that time, please consider:
    1. Are you working from the 8.0.1 Update of Premiere Elements 8 Windows? If not, please do so.

    2. Work with the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalyzer Off. Check to make sure that they are Off. For Automatic Background
    Rendering option, see Edit Menu/Preferences/General. For the AutoAnalzyer options, go to the Elements Organizer accessed from the Premiere Elements workflow, and there select Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalzyer Options and shut them all Off if they are not Off already. If you cannot get into the Elements Organizer that way, put that action on hold for now.
    3. Close the program. Go to

    and in the Organizer folder change the name of the psa.prf file to psa.prfOLD and close out of there and try to open the program and the Elements Organizer.
    Make sure that your computer is set for Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drive active so that you can see the path described.
    4. Assuming that you can open Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 to the Welcome Screen even if you cannot open the Elements Organizer, go to the Welcome Screen
    a. hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift (altogether) as you click on hold (about 15 seconds) that click on the Organizer tab in the Welcome Screen. After those 15 seconds, release the click on the Organizer tab, but not the Ctrl+Alt+Shift, and look for the Catalog Manager dialog which should have popped up. It has a nasty habit of hidding behind the Welcome Screen, so, if necessary, move the Welcome Screen to one side to see if it is behind it.
    b. Create a new catalog using the Catalog Manager dialog.
    Please review the above when you have finished other troubleshooting that you are currently pursuing.
