Premiere Elements 11 won't launch
G'day,
I downloaded the trial version of PRE11 a few weeks ago, but I couldn't get it to run. Upon launch I get the welcome screen with two choices, to launch the Organizer or the Video Editor, but neither of these actually start. It seems as it is trying though, as I see a scrolling line below my choice after clicking it. No error code or anything like it, it simply won't start (and I don't see any process starting either).
Nevertheless, a few days ago I bought PRE11 (Win/Mac DVD, English) and installed it. Exactly the same behaviour as with the trial, apart from one thing. When I try to lanuch the Video Editor I get the licence agreement. After agreeing, it's the same thing though, nothing happens.
I've read this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4773135) and tried to see if I had any of the symptoms described, or if any of the suggested solutions worked. So far, no luck. I tried Large_Donkey's solution (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4893868#4893868) with the msvcr80.dll and msvcr100.dll files, but it didn't make any difference. Same thing with VDOsurfer's reply (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4903592#4903592) I also tried primarykeytech's suggestion (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4905283#4905283) and downloaded Dependency Walker and ran both Premiere Elements 11.exe and Premiere Elements.exe. At first, it reported that IEShims.dll and gpscv.dll was missing/couldn't be loaded, so I added these to the Premiere Elements folder. Then I got a message (still while running Premiere Elements.exe in Dependency Walker) saying that sysntfy.dll was missing, so I added this one as well to the Premiere Elements folder. After this, I still get three messages in Dependency Walker, but no further description on which files it can't find:
"Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module."
And none of these changes made any difference, I tried to launch the Video Editor and/or Organizer, but it's the same thing; won't launch, no error message. I've now resetted everything back to the way it was on installation, and tried to continue finding any solution.
Some specs, even if maybe not all of these are relevant. If any other specs are needed, just inform me.
Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe V2
CPU: Intel i7 950 3,06GHz
PSU: Corsair HX 650W

Thanks in advance for any help.
Well, I tried the blacklist approach by adding a "blacklist.txt" file to the VST plugins folders I have, but to no avail. I also read the last post you made in the "Failure of Premiere to Launch - One Possibility VST's" thread, with the answers from Adobe Engineering. As that post was made almost 2 years ago, I somehow think this wouldn't be an issue in PrE 11 anymore?
Anyway, while trying to launch Premiere Elements.exe ~200 times the last 24h, I've not noticed anything strange in Event Viewer, no errors or warnings connected to the launch of PrE (or, for that matter, no errors or warnings at all during the time I try to launch the program). One thing I did notice, though, is that the process Premiere Elements 11.exe actually starts (I chose not to display the welcome screen every time, but to launch the Video Editor right away) but then quickly terminates. Utually it manage to get between 15-20MB of memory before it crashes and terminate the process, only takes 1 or 2 seconds from launch to termination.
Slowly losing my hope to actually discover the cause, as I'm shooting in the dark evey time (not getting any error messages or hints on what actually fails). Really needed to use PrE this week, maybe have to find some free alternative on the interwebs.
Regards Henrik
Edit: Searching deeper on the Adobe forums regarding VST scanning issues with PrPro/E, and it baffles me how long this error seems to have been going on, even if it's not 100% certain that is the error in my case.
Edit2: Once again a shot in the dark, but I'm thinking my troubles may be due to multiple hard drives? As things are scattered over 3 discs (OS on one, programs on the second one and personal data on the third one) this might cause some path/reference issues? I was thinking this since Depencency Walker gives me the following error messages:
"Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module."
And it also states that it can't find IESHIMS.DLL and GPSVC.DLL (a road I already have been down earlier). This got me thinking PrE can't find the correct files from where it is installed (E:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere Elements 11). On the other hand, I'm getting the exact same error messages on Photoshop CS5 (which runs fine), and the same two dll files seems to be missing. Even tried running a few other programs that work, such as games, though Depencency Walker, and even they seems to miss these dll files.

Premiere Elements Won't launch. Asking for Application Manager
I tried to install Elements 13 and it did with no problems. but when i tried to open it, a window popped up saying that adobe application manager (required to run your product) is missing or damaged please go to this website and install it. so i go to the website and install AAM but when i am installing it, it says "installer failed to initialize". this leaves me clueless. i know there are other people with this problem because i have read about it in other forums. i am stuck, any help would be appreciated.

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running?
What link are you using for the Adobe Application Manager? Is it the following
Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager

I cannot get premiere elements 10 to launch. Restarted, uninstalled, reinstalled. Won't launch
My recommendation would be to contact Adobe, since they have the ability to walk you through some troubleshooting steps. But it looks like they've already thrown it to us!
1) Have you manually gone to Windows Update and ensured you have even the non-critical updates (which can include important drivers)?
2) Have you manually gone to the ATI or nVidia sites and ensured you have the latest drivers for your graphics card?
3) Have you cleaned your temp files and defragmented your drive(s)?
4) Have you ensured that the program's licensing has not corrupted? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/542377
Finally, you say the program won't launch. At what point does it fail? Do you get a Welcome Screen? Does it only fail when you try to open yesterday's project or does it also fail if you try to start a new project?
Another other details you can provide could also be helpful including: How fast your processor is, how much RAM you have, how much free, clean defragmented space is on your hard drive(s) and if you are editing on your C drive or if you have your media and project files on another drive. -
Premiere Elements 11 wont launch on my MacBookPro
I installed Premiere Elements 11 today and it wont launch.

Would appreciate any tips on what I am doing wrong.Good on you Steve,
and thank you.
In addition to following your two tips, I came across some additional information related to fonts. I validate the font library and reloaded it. I was then able to open Premiere Elements 11; SonicFire plug-in still didn't work.
I found some information in the forum on a related SonicFire patch - installed the patch and everything is working fine. Turned on Retina display and life is good.
You're worth your weight in gold - thanks again.

Adobe Premiere Elements 12 will launch and then vanish
Okay so just bought Adobe Premiere Elements 12. Loaded it up and went to run it. First time I ran it I get the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Launch pad, you know where you select the Organizer or the video editor. I select video editor, it gives me a sub menu asking if I'm opening an existing Project or a new project. I select new project. the Video editor opens and I get a pop up windows stating "Please Log-in with an Admin account to access Adobe premiere Elements." I hit 'ok' and the video editor promptly vanishes leaving me at the launch pad which I close. I go to the short cut, right click on it and select "run as administrator." and I re-launch the program. Back to launch pad, select video editor, select new project. The video editor loads and appears to be working for about 3 seconds and then it vanishes. No error window, no crash report nothing. Just 'pop' it's gone.
Any idea what I can do about this? I'd really like to use the software I just bought.
Compute specs:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
-updated system drives yesterday
Prossessor: AMD Phenom 2 X6
8Gb ram
NVidia GeForce GTX 460 4GB card
-Drivers updated yesterday
Primary drive is a solid state 128gb
2 secondary SATA drives at 1TB each
Premiere Elements is loaded on the 1st of the 2 secondary drives. Please confirm...
a. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges as well as the Run As Administrator from the right click of the program's desktop icon?
- I am running it from an admin level account.
b. Did you install the program to the default drive C location...you mention "Premiere Elements is loaded on the 1st of the 2 secondary drives", but is it the drive designated C?
- No. all I have on my primary drive (C:\) is windows, drivers and scratch disk. All my programs outside of windows are loaded on the drive designated J:\
c. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
- I did not before, but I just updated it before responding here. No effect.
d. Does your computer use just that NVIDIA video card/graphics care? Is there a second card displayed in Device Manager/Display Adapters?
- the NVIDA GeForce GTX 460 is my only video adapter.
e. Does the problem exist with and without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
- Yes. I shut off Kaspersky and tried running the program via the launch pad. no change.
You say that the crashes occur when you select Video and new project. What happens if you select Organizer instead? Still crash?
- If I go into Organizer the system seems to run fine. I loaded Organizer about 20 minutes ago and it's still up and running just fine. But in that same time span I've tried to launch premier elements several times. It still crashes after a few seconds.
New data though. Can't tell if it's from Premier, or something else. a couple minutes after the latest attempt to run Premiere Elements I found a new window with the header "CAHeadless Debug Event". The Window reads:
CAHeadless has encounter an error.
[..\..\Src\Sequence\Sequence.cpp-2233]
and then I have a button that reads "Continue". -
Adobe Premiere Elements fails to launch...
I've been unable to launch Premiere Elements because of a conflict with Quicktime 7.2. Premiere tries to launch and stops at ImporterAIFF.prm each time. I uninstalled Quicktime and now Premiere Elements launches as it should, but without Quicktime installed my iTunes and some Premiere Elements export options will not work.
The error message I recieved when launching Premiere Elements (before uninstalling Quicktime) was the following: Adobe Premiere Elements.exe- Application Error (The instruction at "0x09fc10e3" reference memory at "0x00000018". the memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.
I would like to know if Apple is aware of this problem and is there a fix coming (or a workaround for me).
Thanks...I am having the exactl same problem. Please post the solution should figure it out.

Premiere Elements 11 not launching on MacBook Pro
Is there any tips or trick to get PE 11 to launch on my Macbook Pro? It shuts down or I get the spinning beach ball everytime I open it. I have tried uninstall/reinstall. This doesn't work either.

Are you working with Premiere Elements 11 Mac (purchased from Adobe), Adobe Premiere Elements 11 Editor (Mac Only) from the Mac App Store, or Premiere Elements 11 Quick Editor (Mac) from the Mac App Store?
Is this a "worked before but not now" or "it never worked before" issue?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 11? Have you checked your permissions?

Adobe Premiere Elements Won't Start A New Project?
When I open up Premiere Elements and try to start a new project, all it shows is a black and purple line, then it just stops. I have already tried updating QuickTime, Windows 7, Nvidia Drivers, and Uninstalling and then Reinstalling Premiere elements. I am running it on a PC that has an AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six Core Proccessor, 8 GB of RAM, a Nvidia G-Force GTX 650, and i installed the program on a secondary hard drive with 761 GB of free space.
xXFIRE
What is this "secondary hard drive" on which you originally installed Premiere Elements 12? Internal or external and how formatted NTSC or FAT32?
I do not see where anyone has asked about "Scratch Disks" as they relate to your issues?
Please refer to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks...
a. Where are the scratch disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at that location?
b. Do you have all the scratch disks categories directed to the same place? If not, do so and make sure there is lots of free hard drive space where you are pointing them to.
Please look for pile ups of preview files in the Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files Folder and pile ups of conformed audio in the Media Cache Folder. Both these folders by default are in Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0.
Please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and hit the Clean button in the Media Cache Database in that area.
As for the matter of where Premiere Elements program should be installed. Interesting question and some interesting answers. Back in a 2010 thread here on this type of subject, Akshat B (Adobe Staff) wrote
Yes you can install Premiere Elements on any other drive. For that you need to follow these steps:
1. Uninstall current copy of Premiere Elements.
2. Start the installer of Premiere ELements.
3. Choose a location on d:\ drive after choosing the default TV format.
Please keep in mind, even if you select d: drive as the install location some amount of data will get copied to C: drive.

Hey all:
I have Premiere Elements 3.0, which is true, I don't use it too often. But today I wanted to use it, and after the splash screen, I get the following error message:
MS Virtual C++ Runtime Library
R6025
-Pure Virtual Function Call
I suppose the answer is to re-install, but was hoping there was a better answer!
TIA,
DentonThis is most likely a problem with the MS Windows RunTime.dll. There have been several updates to that, and they are version specific, so make sure to only download and install the one for your version of Windows. IIRC, these are available on the MS site. I'll also look for some links to other RunTime problems with Adobe software, but as the fora have been redone, might not be able to find those.
Good luck,
Hunt
[Edit] Here's one, but not the one with links to MS articles, that I am looking for.
Here's another. -
I have been using it successfully for a year.
I have 86gig free and 16gig RAM.

By any chance are you working from a dual monitor setup?
Are you on a network? Are you using non default locations for program installation and/or program associated folders and files.
Have you looked at deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file? In Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 64 bit, the path is:
Local Disc C
Users
Owner
AppData
Roaming
Adobe
Premiere Elements
11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. Check Folder Option mentioned below so that you can see whole path.
If you do have the latest version of the video card driver installed, consider deleting the BadDrivers.txt file. I am assuming that you have Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 64 bit Windows and not XP. So, the path to the BadDrivers.txt file should be
Local Disc C
Program Data
Adobe
Premiere Elements
11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file that you delete. Be sure to be working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path.
Looking forward to your results.
Thanks.

Premiere Elements won't recognize files
Hello, I am using Premiere Elements 8 and I am so frustrated with it. All of a sudden when I go to add media, it does not recognize files. I tried to open 2 mp4 files and it said it was the wrong file type or I didn't have the necessary codec. Last week it had no problem adding MP4 files. So, I converted the MP4 files into AVI files and guess what? It didn't recognize them either. I could scream. So I tried to add an mp3 file, no luck. Converted it to a WAV file, same thing. So, anybody have an idea of what is going on?
Would someone like to convince me that this software isn't a piece of trash?
Two weeks ago I was adding titles to a movie I was putting together and it crashed every time I added a title. But at least the title was added before it crashed. I had 12 titles and it crashed 11 times, so I had eleven titles added. I finally gave up adding the last title when it crashed before I could add the title. I tried to add the title about 10 times before I gave up.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.>Last week it had no problem adding MP4 files...converted the MP4 files into AVI files
If you are not able to open files that did open before, something has changed... or maybe become corrupted
Reset Corrupted Preferences = Press/HOLD Ctrl+Alt+Shift while starting program
If that does not work, you need to find out exactly what is inside your files
Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
What is a CODEC... a Primer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/546811
What CODEC is INSIDE that file? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... a screen

PS8 Elements won't launch editor
On start up of the program where it gives you the option to organize or edit, edit usually launches the editor and I can work in it. It brings up the load bar but then just goes away and I'm still at the same start up. Nothing has changed on my computer that I know of, I'm the only user. Not sure what happened, just woke up one day wanting to use it and it did this. Any help would be appreciated cause I really don't have the money to go buy another program.
Hi,
Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 8\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

Photoshop + Premiere Elements 11 not launching/registering/opening?
Dear Community,
I have researched the above topic in many forums but could not find any solution?
Bought the elements PSE & PRE on CD, have the serial numbers. I am running Windows 8 (64bit) and have installed both PSE and PRE on Program Files (x86).
Followed the instructions, entered the serial numbers for both and did a system restart.
When launching both programs from desktop nothing happens after "Adobe Software License Agreement Screen".
Have tried to run with administrator and progressed beyond "Adobe Software License Agreement Screen", but was promted to enter serial numbers again and after that nothing happened still.
I have tried other solutuions, uninstall/re-install, disable anti-virus, registering products on Adobe site etc.
Please help because I might have to return the software.
I have been using Photoshop in different versions over a number of years.
Tiaan ViljoenProblem found!
After receiving support from Adobe I was instructed to delete the "cache" file in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache
That worked.
Thank you,
