Premiere Elements 12 don't start

Hi,
we have the following problem:
After we have installed the Premier Elements 12 Software on an Win 8.1 OS. We tried to start the software (run as administrator) and only get the start GUI (Organizer | Video Editor).
the login window appear and we verify our software. After that we can click on "create a new video" but nothing happens.
the only thing that happens is that the login window comes back. This scenario go into a loop.
so we can't start the software with admin permissions.
If we try to run the software as a normal user, the Start GUI does not even open.
Only the login window appears, this also goes into a loop.
We have installed the software on an other Windows 8.1 PC and everything works fine.
so may can you help us?
If you need further information don't hesitate to asked
thank you ;-)

How long ago did you purchase Premiere Elements 12? If it is within the last 30 days, you might be eligible for a free move to version 13. You need to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat to discuss that as soon as possible if that is something of interest to you. There may be some debate about the way to make contact, but, if you purchased from Adobe direct as an online download, I would contact Adobe Chat by clicking on the following and following through with Chat Panel.
http://helpx.adobe.com/sea/contact.html?step=PRE_membership-account-payment_payments-invoi ces-orders_stillNeedHelp

If the link does not open as set, then you will need to navigate to Chat Panel using the above titles as guides.
If you stay with 12, then there are several areas to pursue
1. Can you open the program by going to the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file, right clicking it and selecting Run As Administrator, and then double clicking the .exe in an attempt to open the program direct to the editor?
See
Local Disk C
Program Files
Adobe
Adobe Premiere Elements 12
and in the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Folder are the Adobe Premiere Elements 12.exe and Adobe Premiere Elements.exe. You want the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file.
2. If you create a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and install and run Premiere Elements 12 from there, does the program open?
3. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements could not start.  Please uninstall and reinstall.

Worked with support quite a bit over the past few months.  I am getting the subject named error after selecting the Country after my silent install.
I was provided application.overide XMLS and using the setup.exe to install the application.  It installs successfully, but does not launch.
This is on Windows XP.  Not sure what else to do.  We have been attempting to get this to install silently since September.
Setup.exe /S /v/qn. - is what i am running.  If you reply please don't tell me to use OEM.exe, we have confirmed with Adobe Support that this does not work in my situation.

The answers are in the details and they are lacking in the information needed to solve this issue.
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
Are you running the program as Run As Administrator or from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
And, as John T. Smith has asked, is your video card driver up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the video card?
    All basic Q&A background essentials.
Uninstall, reinstall is often suggested as part of the no start issue. You could have a bad install. Factors need to be ruled in and out. No guarantees. I would suggest the following scheme for this uninstall, reinstall...I am assuming that you have never gotten into the Premiere Elements workspace with the current (first?) install.
    1. Control Panel, usual uninstall
    2. Run the ccleaner (regular and registry)
    3. Reinstall (with antivirus and firewalls disabled in Action Center).
What do your computer resources look like? I saw no description of them?
Let us start with the above and then plan the troubleshooting strategy based on your answers.
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 10 not starting up.

When ever I start up Premiere it opens up with a message that says:
Premiere Elements 10.0 has encountered an error
    [..\..\Src\EMS\WSEMUtil.cpp-715]

    xpcm
Thanks for the reply. We may have our answer in your Premiere Elements 10 running on a computer that uses a NVIDIA GeForce card. There is a known issue relating
to Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce with the solution being roll back of the driver version to about May 2013. But, I have not seen it reported before in association
    with the particular error message
    [..\..\Src\EMS\WSEMUtil.cpp-715]
But because of the history on this matter in
the Announcement at the top of this forum
    and
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE10: NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
we do need to rule this factor in or out.
Go to the following site for older version NVIDIA GeForce and plug in your information to download and install the May 2013 driver version
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
It is the Driver GeForce 320.18 Driver........320.18.......May 23, 2013 that you want.
Are you working with SD or HD projects?
Please review and consider and then let us know the outcome. The references cited with give you a
comprehensive view of the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA situation.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements Won't Start A New Project?

When I open up Premiere Elements and try to start a new project, all it shows is a black and purple line, then it just stops. I have already tried updating QuickTime, Windows 7, Nvidia Drivers, and Uninstalling and then Reinstalling Premiere elements. I am running it on a PC that has an AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six Core Proccessor, 8 GB of RAM, a Nvidia G-Force GTX 650, and i installed the program on a secondary hard drive with 761 GB of free space.

    xXFIRE
What is this "secondary hard drive" on which you originally installed Premiere Elements 12? Internal or external and how formatted NTSC or FAT32?
I do not see where anyone has asked about "Scratch Disks" as they relate to your issues?
Please refer to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks...
    a. Where are the scratch disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at that location?
    b. Do you have all the scratch disks categories directed to the same place? If not, do so and make sure there is lots of free hard drive space where you are pointing them to.
Please look for pile ups of preview files in the Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files Folder and pile ups of conformed audio in the Media Cache Folder. Both these folders by default are in Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0.
Please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and hit the Clean button in the Media Cache Database in that area.
As for the matter of where Premiere Elements program should be installed. Interesting question and some interesting answers. Back in a 2010 thread here on this type of subject, Akshat B (Adobe Staff) wrote
Yes you can install Premiere Elements on any other drive. For that you need to follow these steps:
    1. Uninstall current copy of Premiere Elements.
    2. Start the installer of Premiere ELements.
    3. Choose a location on d:\ drive after choosing the default TV format.
Please keep in mind, even if you select d: drive as the install location some amount of data will get copied to C: drive.

Is your Local Disc C, a SSD drive? Why is there so little free space on your Local Disc C?

    Dear all,

i have updated all my drivers, windows XP is update to date.
I don't see what to do more, the crash is systematicall and doesn't let any trace at system level for debugging.
    All help welcomed.
    Thx by advance

  • Why does Premiere Elements 8 not start correctly?

I have a problem with Premiere Elements 8, using PC, Windows 8.1. Starting the program I can start a new project and save it. After this the menue appears but the working area is grey. There is no option to use any point of the menue beside starting a new project but this doesn´t help. New start of the pc did not chance anything. I uninstalled the program and installed it again. The problem is still there. In the past I used the program without any problem. Mc Afee is new installed, this is the only chance beside updates of Windows, they are automatically installed. Can anybody help me?

    maria
If you have not already, please consider...just in case message, you need not reply
Before you make any decisions on the fate of Premiere Elements 8, please evaluate it as the 8.0.1 Update which can be obtained from Adobe using the following link
Adobe - Premiere Elements : For Windows : Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0.1 update
For reasons unknown to users, Adobe does not place a "8.0.1" in the description of the program once the 8.0.1 update is installed.
I guess we get our OK immediately after installation with a update installed successfully message. And that is that.
    Two possible signs
    1. If the automatic Background Rendering in preferences was enabled before 8.0.1, it is disabled after 8.0.1.
    2. There is one file in the program files on the hard drive that, as I recall, may be new or renamed.
For me, that update (plus shutting off the AutoAnalzyer feature in Elements Organizer) made the difference between usable versus
    unusable version 8 program.
    Best wishes

  • Premiere Elements won't start

    Hey all:
I have Premiere Elements 3.0, which is true, I don't use it too often. But today I wanted to use it, and after the splash screen, I get the following error message:
    MS Virtual C++ Runtime Library
    R6025
    -Pure Virtual Function Call
I suppose the answer is to re-install, but was hoping there was a better answer!
    TIA,
    Denton

This is most likely a problem with the MS Windows RunTime.dll. There have been several updates to that, and they are version specific, so make sure to only download and install the one for your version of Windows. IIRC, these are available on the MS site. I'll also look for some links to other RunTime problems with Adobe software, but as the fora have been redone, might not be able to find those.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] Here's one, but not the one with links to MS articles, that I am looking for.
    Here's another.

One common cause of PrE hanging on launch is the video driver. While not the only possible cause, I would check this out first.
What OS and version are you running?
What video card do you have, both make and model?
What is the date and version of your installed video driver?
If you go to the mfgr's. Web site, say nVidia, or AMD/ATI, is that the latest version of the driver?
If not, download and install the latest, reboot and test.
    Good luck,

  • Premiere Elements crashing upon start up

I have transferred my application of Premiere Elements 11 to my new iMac OS 10.9.2 but it will not open up.  It starts the process but then it crashes every time.  What can I try?

    islantweet
Lots of just in case questions...
    a. When your older iMac fried, did it trap your Premiere Elements 11 in it so that you could not deactivate it and uninstall it? Adobe allows for the same purchased serial number to be on no more of two of your computers. If this is the case, Adobe should be able to help you clear your account so that you do not have an activated program trapped on an unusable computer. If this applies to you, contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat on the topic of "Serial Numbers Issues or Activating My Product". Click on the following link and, when it opens, click on "Still Need Help? Contact Us." to bring up the Adobe Chat to work on the topic.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=serial-number-issues-o r-activating-my-product
    b. Why are do describing these transfer paths for the Premiere Elements 11 Mac installation on the new computer? Did you purchase Premiere Elements 11 in boxed packaging so that you have a Mac installation disc or did you purchase Mac installation files from a download from Amazon? If you have a purchased serial number for Premiere Elements 11 Mac, you can install from tryout files from the following web site and then insert your purchased serial number in them.
The key to success for this route is to read very carefully the "Note: Very Important Instructions" on that web page so that you do not receive an Access Denied message.

  • Display driver problem - Premiere Elements will not start

Premiere Elements 10 will not run on my computer unless I downgrade to an old display driver. I would do this but it causes other problems.
I am using the most recent driver from NVidia (but a pretty old display card).  I get this message: "We have detected an incompatible display driver... driver details: NVidia Geforce GTS 250/pCIe/SSE2 3.0.0"
    On Windows 7
    Can anybody help with this?

Have you manually gone to the nVidia web site and downloaded the latest driver?
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
This fixes about 95% of these types of issues.
Also, you definitely do have a BadDriver.txt file on your computer. And you may need to delete it to clear this error.

  • Premiere Elements Won't Start for a Particular User

If I try to start a new project or use an existing project then I get the message "Sorry, a serious error has occurred etc" and Elements closes.
This happens only with my main working user account (Windows XP) but not any other user accounts.
I have tried all the usual tips such as deleting the temp folder and deleting the preferences file in Docs and Settings.
I have checked the preferences folder security settings and they are the same for all users.

Have you uninstalled defragged, and reinstalled ? If not certainly worth doing. Install it from your problem users account. I suggest right-clicking the setup file and selecting 'Run as Administrator' - that's the Vista / W7 option - if I recall in XP you select 'Run as ...' and then select administrator.

  • Photoshop and premiere elements will not start

If there has been an answer, I apologize for asking, I'm haven't gotten any answers from adobe chat and have reached frustration!
I have photoshop and premier elements 9 on windows 7. They worked fine for about a year then both recently stopped working, they didn't open. So I uninstalled and reinstalled from the disk and they worked.
A few days later, the same story. They stopped opening. I've only installed the programs on this one computer.
I could reinstall again and see if that works, but I think there is a 2 computer license which I might have reached since I couldn't deactivate before reinstalling because I couldn't access the program. It also seems silly to reinstall every time I need to use it.
    All ideas appreciated!

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor, and restarting your computer.
    The Editor's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
    The Organizer's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.
