Premiere Elements 12 -Only buring HD but really want standard DVD

My video project is made up of HD video footage; however, I need to burn to Standard DVD for distribution to a number of volunteers who are featured.
I have chosen DVD - Disc (both wide and standard) -- each time the video comes out in HD and will not play on standard DVD players or in the non-Blu Ray burner on my computers. I see no options in Premiere Elements 12 to override burning in HD.
I've never had the problem with previous videos using same software and computer. Although those were a different selection of blank DVDs.
Is there a solution or is it possible that I purchased blank Blu Ray DVDs instead of standard. There is no labeling left on my DVD stack of 100  (also nothing on individual discs) although the center ring is surrounded by a blue ring.
Is there any other way to tell if they are Blu Ray and not standard DVDs?
Thanks,
Bill

There appears to be a basic misunderstanding here of the burn to options in Premiere Elements 12 in particular.
Please allow me to explain, and please excuse anything that I will write that you already know....
The regular DVD player will playback DVD-VIDEO Standard (4:3) or (16:9). Assuming a NTSC setup, that is characterized by
720 x 480 4:3 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second and 720 x 480 16:9 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second. When these are
the choices that you want, you use
Publish+Share
Disc
DVD
disc with Presets = NTSC_Dolby Digital (for the 4:3) and NTSC_Widescreen_Dolby DVD (16:9)
You do not use
Publish+Share
Disc
AVCHD disc (which is a HD AVCHD format on a DVD disc....this will not playback on the regular DVD player....here you can expect
resolution of 1920 x 1080)
The only possibility for you obtaining what you say relate to you selecting AVCHD instead of DVD. Is that a possibility?
There is no Blu-ray DVD disc or ACVHD DVD disc; there is Blu-ray disc format on a Blu-ray disc, AvCHD format on a DVD disc, each differing from DVD-VIDEO format on a DVD disc.
As for DVD discs, 4.7 GB/120 minutes; 8.5 GB/240 minutes.
As for Blu-ray discs, 25 GB or 50 GB.
If you have a HD 16:9 project and you want to take it to a DVD disc that will playback on the regular DVD player, then you use
Publish+Share
Disc
DVD
disc with a preset specifically for NTSC_Widescreen_Dolby DVD which is 16:9.
Please review and consider.
Thank you.

You have not given us enough information to help you.
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
For Premiere Elements to take full advantage of your computer resources it needs to be a version that runs as a 64 bit application in a 64 bit system. If you have Premiere Elements 10, 11, or 12 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit that will be the case. If you have Premiere Elements 11 or 12 on Mac 64 bit, that will be the case.
All others, Premiere Elements will be a 32 bit application running as 32 bit in a 32 bit computer operating system OR a 32 bit application running in the 32 bit compatibility mode of a 64 bit system. Key thought here is that, 32 bit system has maximum supported installed RAM = 4 GB and 3 GB or less of that are available.
Please fill in the necessary details so that we can go from generalizations to what you actually have.
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

There is a known No Disc error using Premiere Elements 13.
The fix is to delete the OldFilm.AEX file which is found in Window 8.1 64 bit
    Local Disk C
    Program Files
    Adobe
    Adobe Premiere Elements 13
    Plug-ins
    Common
    NewBlue
and in the NewBlue Folder is the OldFilm.AEX file that you delete.
Adobe first posted this information in one of the threads here, and it has worked for essentially all who have
gotten the No Disc error in Premiere Elements 13.
Please let us know if this works for you also.
    Thank you.

  • I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 & Premiere Elements 12 for windows.  I want to transfer the programs to my new HP 15 Touch Screen computer.   Then I wan to remove the program from my old HP computer.  How can I do this?

I transferred the files to my new computer but not sure how I get the Photoshop & Premier Elements to work.  What do I do once I have all the files transferred?

Just install them on the new computer. You can sign  out of Premiere Elements/Photo Elements on your old computer -- but signing in on your new computer activates the programs.
You can be activated on two computers on a single license for these programs.

I had the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 8 program on the old computer. My upgrade to 13 will now be on my Mac, will this be an issue when I begin my download?

    Hi stickpin56,
If you have purchased a Mac version for Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements then it would certainly work for your new mac machine.

  • Premiere Elements Pro 5.5  How to Burn a DVD

I am a newby in this world.
Since a 2 months I bought  Pro 5.5 and made my first vacation movie. Total length 1.04.30.
Now I want to burn the movie on a DVD to show family and friends.
But were is the "Burn Button"??
How and what to do after the completion.
Can anyone explain to me in simple terms.
    Thanks, Hans

    Hans,
There are basically two ways to get from your PrPro CS5.5 Project to Encore, with some variations.
One way is to Export the Sequence(s) from PrPro, and then Import them into an Encore Project. For an SD (Standard Definition) Project, going to DVD, one choice would be to Export (via Adobe Media Encoder, AME) to a DV-AVI file with 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio. Then, create an Encore Project, and Import that DV-AVI file as a Timeline. Add your Menus, and link all Buttons, and then Preview, Check Project and Burn to Disc. Just leave Encore's Transcode setting on Automatic.
I won't go into using ADL (Adobe Dynamic Link) to go between PrPro and Encore, nor will I go into details on doing the MPEG-2 Transcoding, outside of Encore. Those processes, especially the latter, are a bit more involved, and are best addressed in the Encore forum, as they do not apply in any way to PrElements. The method that I gave is the easiest, most straightforward, and is almost bullet-proof.
Good luck, and for more details, optiions, etc., the Encore Forum would be far better, as there are major differences in how PrE does authoring, and how Encore does it.

I would be glad for the opportunity to customize a Premiere Elements 12 answer to your Premiere Elements 12 issue.
But, I want to make sure that we are together on the details. This is my understanding of what you have written. Please review and let me
know if I am misinterpreting anything that you have written.
You have a video created in Windows Movie Maker.
How did you output the video from Windows Movie Maker...wmv or mp4, what was the frame size and frame rate of that export?
Next you import that video into Premiere Elements 12 (can we assume that this is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?)
From what you wrote, you have applied a pan and zoom effect to your video in Premiere Elements.
Now you go to export the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content with your video with the pan and zoom applied.
But, the pan and zoom effect is not seen in playback of the export.
Is all of the above correct so far?
If so....we are going to need some more details from you...
    a. What is the project preset that you or the project are setting to match the properties of the video coming from Movie maker? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
    b. Are you applying the pan and zoom effect with the Pan and Zoom Tool, fx Effects Presets, or keyframing the Scale (for Zoom) and
Position (for Pan) in the Motion Panel expanded?
    c. What are you selecting as your export in Publish+Share/. Please give details...are you using default settings or customizing the export
setting under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
I am suspecting some sort of mismatch of your project settings or some problems with working with the Pan and Zoom tool. I need
your answers to help me help you. If I have written anything that you do not understand, please let me know. I will re-write if necessary
so that we are in sync to resolve the issue.
    Thanks.

  • Does Premiere Elements support DVCPRO-HD? How do I ingest and work with HD-footage from HVX-200?

    Hi there,
I work with Premiere Elements 11 on a windows PC, and I try to ingest HD-footage from Panasonic HVX-200 Camcorder. Premiere Elements only recognizes thumbnails, but not the footage itself? What do I have to do? Or does Elements only support SD-footage? Do I have to install DVCPRO-HD Codec? Where do I get it then?
Thanks for your help!, yours Mike

    Welcome to the forum.
PrE does support HD material, just not all of it.
With DVCPRO HD on P2 media, I am not sure that you will be able to work directly with the media files from your Panasonic in PrE. This is the list of supported formats: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WSeffff8bffc802084-1665492e133c9c19956- 8000.html#WS300DE01D-F057-4639-96D1-F99EEE163C24
PrPro can Import and edit DVCPRO HD on P2 media. The Panasonic P2, along with its metadata is supported: http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.html
    Good luck,

  • "No Disk" Error (premiere elements 11)

I have successfully installed Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my PC:
         Dell XPS 8300
Intel Core i7-2600 Quad Core (3.4 GHz, 8MB Cache)
         • 1GB Radeon HD 6450 Graphics
         • 16GB DDR3 1333 RAM
         • 1TB 7,200RPM Hard Drive (2 x 500GB RAID 0)
         • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
When I open the application and click "New Project" I get the following error message:
    AdobePremiereElements.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive.  Please insert a disk into drive
         \Devices\harddisk2\DR3
I can "cancel", "try again", or "continue".  The only thing that works is to hit "cancel"  (several times).  Premiere Elements will then open, but the error message will keep recurring.   Adobe Support (Chat) has not been much help.
Anyone else come across this?  This seems to be a common error in earlier versions (version 9), but I can't seem to find any good solution to it.   HELP!!!!
UPDATE:   Just as an FYI..while it's possible (but doubtful) there is preloaded software interfering, there is no other software (or viruses) installed on this computer.

  • DVD burning error in Premiere Elements 11

I recently filmed a friend's memorial service for their family.  I have footage from two different cameras that I have edited in Premiere Elements 11, for the purpose of making a DVD of the service.
I run into a problem when I try to burn the project to a DVD.  The burn goes a short distance (at most 5%) then pops an error that reads:
    internal software error:.\win\Primo\primo_command.cpp, line 124
I have tried making sure that all other programs are shut down (to the best of my ability - antivirus won't completely shut down, but can be put into a mode where it won't do any background activity).  I've rendered the project into AVI and loaded the AVI file into the timeline.  No matter what, I keep getting shut down at that same point.  When it occurs, my DVD drive disappears from the machine and I have to restart the machine to get the drive back.
I've checked and I have the most current firmware for the drive.  I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on a Dell laptop.
Does anyone have any ideas what this error message means and how to correct this?  The service was about a month ago and I'd really like to get this finished up and handed off to the family.

    Yoofdursh
Thank you for your helpful information.
If you have the burn to folder feature working then you can get this immediate project done and then work out the burn to disc problem.
This is the solution to get your DVD-VIDEO Standard on DVD disc with what you have working at the present time...
    Publish+Share
    Disc
    DVD
and in the burn to: select Folder (4.7 GB) and designate a save location for it.
Download and install the free ImgBurn software and use that to take the VIDEO_TS Folder in the burn to folder to a DVD disc in DVD-VIDEO format (with required disc File System). The following is a popular online how to.
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_imgburn.cfm
The link for the download should be included in this above link.
    Basically
    1. Open ImgBurn and click on "Write files/folder to disc".
    2. In the dialog that opens, select File Menu/Browse for a source folder. Navigate to the VIDEO_TS Folder (only it), select it, then hit Select Folder to enter it into the program.
    3. Then hit the Build button at the bottom of the dialog.
There are settings that you can look through. But, the program takes over and does the essentials for you, offering messages at times as it directs you through its program.
This will work great for you to get you through your project which you want to get out sooner rather than later.
Please let me know if you see any problems with this plan.
While you are doing that I will see what I can find about this Primo Software program which you say you do not have.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 11 + Windows 8 pro = slow timeline scrolling!

    Hi!
I experience slow redraw of the timeline clips when I scroll,
which makes it very difficult, slow and unpleasant to edit!
This in nothing new to you all, as I have read in many posts about this problem!
And everyone is asking (below these posts) questions like:
"do you have the latest QuickTime codecs?" or "do you have the latest graphics drivers?"
or that our pc are slow or that we work with strange video formats or to change to no thumbnail in the clips or that its
    the antivirus fault or whatever.
    It is not all these!
    As I have read:
-It can happen in many versions of Premiere Elements(maybe in all of them, I don't know)
-It can happen in both ATI/AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards
-It can happen in all hardware configurations CPU/motherboards
-It can happen in all windows versions and both 32/64 bit
So I am guessing it is not our fault.
Can Adobe finally fix this problem with an update? It's been so many versions until now!
    please... Is it so difficult?
Can't the programmers see what are we talking about? Can't they fix the programme?
Before I bought Premiere Elements 11 I had the 9 version in windows 7(64bit)
The same problem, slow/laggy timeline redraw when moving back and forth.
The solution I found was to disable the Aero feature in windows 7!
And oh my god... the timeline then was so fast and smooth, I was so happy to edit!
So I compromised with that(disabling aero).
Recently I have upgrad the same PC to windows 8 pro(64 bit) AND bought Premiere Elements 11. (hoping for speed in every possible way!)
The slow timeline scrolling still happens in both PRE9 and in PRE11.
And guess what? in windows 8 pro you can't disable the "aero feature"!!!
You can only change some visual settings, and even if I disable all of them, nothing changes!
So are we really stuck with the laggy timeline scrolling in windows 8???
Premiere Elements 11 is so much faster in all other things (exept the timeline scrolling)
In the preview window for example. It can play really smooth, in real time WITHOUT render preview
some pretty difficult compositions I make! multiple layers, with greenbox and many other filter effects!
Which in Premiere Elements 9 (in the same PC) the preview play was very laggy!
(don't forget that with aero disabled in PE9(win7), same PC, same complicated compositions, timeline scrolling superfast!)
I think they made some pretty good graphic card use in the preview play in PRE11!
I present and edit a youtube show with Premiere Elements with demanding compositing and everyone thinks I use Premiere Pro CS
version or After Effects CS. But I don't, I want to be legal and I can't aford the prices of these applications
so I buy and use the Elements series which are very powerful as well, if you know what to do and HOW to do it!
See for youselves my show I posted today(in Greek, I am from Greece), which I edited in PRE11.(pefrect greenbox, perfect!)
http://youtu.be/HdKAKI6P8tU?hd=1&t=1m28s (open in a new window)
or move time to 1:28 from the below youtube video window.
But unfortunattely the timeline scrolling made my editing unpleasant and slow!
My question is: Will I, (now that I have upgraded to windows 8 pro 64bit) have to edit ALL my next shows/videos
with the slow/laggy timeline scrolling??? please tell me something to hope for...

I have an ATI/AMD FirePro  v4800 1GB GDDR5 with the latest drivers for this card (8.982.8.3)
Is my video card not compatible?
this slow redraw of the timeline happened way before
and everytime a new driver version came up I had installed it but that didn't change anything.
Only with aero disabled I would enjoy a fast timeline scrolling in windows 7. (now, not possible in windows 8 pro)
Bill how can you explain this? Same video card and everytime with the SAME NEW drivers, aero on=slow timeline, aero off=fast timeline!
Is there some kind of a fix that we can always wait from our graphics card companies to include to new drivers??? (for how long???)
or maybe is it all up to Adobe and its own programme?
Are we all supposed to have old video display drivers?
Can someone make some kind of a poll for people who have this problem to vote to see where this problem apears, in which configurations, in which graphics cards? (assuming they have latest drivers)
so we all finally know what/where is the problem.
I love the premiere elements series and thats why I want this to be solved.

  • How to install 32bit Premiere Element 10 on 64bit Windows7?

Premiere Elements 10 comes with 32bit and 64bit programs.  The 2 versions each use different codecs.  My camera manufacturer only supplies 32bit codecs, so the 64bit Premiere Elements 10 program cannot work with my camera's video files.  The 32bit program works with the 32bit codecs that came with my camera, but the 32bit Adobe Premiere Elements 10 installer will not permit installation on a 64bit Windows7 (the error message directs the 64bit Premiere Elements 10 program be installed instead).
Have repeatedly contacted Adobe.  They alternately tell me to install the 32 bit program, but haven't offered any instructions as to how to get the installer to run on a 64bit Windows7 OS.  64bit Windows7 should run any 32bit or 64bit app, so I'm hoping someone can provide insight (or hopefully instructions) on how to perform 32bit install.
Note, already have tried Windows compatibility mode for forcing installation.  This gets past the installer restriction for 64bit OS, but installer still fails.

    Bill,
Appreciate your comments.  32bit codecs from manufacturer install on 64bit Windows7 and support any 32bit app.  That includes 32bit windows media player and camera's manufacturer specific video edit program.  But I differ that 64bit apps can use 32bit codecs.  32bit Adobe Premiere Elements 10 works with manufacturer's 32bit codecs when installed to a 32bit Windows (which unfortunately is not my current workstation which is 64bit Windows7).
One of my camera's is Creative Vado HD, and it is my impression that Creative does not feel compelled to supply 64bit codecs since they supply their own video editor 32bit app.  Of course, I cannot combine clips from multiple cameras on a manufacturer specific one-camera edit app.
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 explicitly names the Creative Vado HD as a supported camera on Adobe's website ... but apparently not the 64bit version of Premiere Elements 10.  Have tried 3rd party 64bit codecs for H.264/MS-ADPCM which are at best partially functional with the 64bit Adobe Premiere Elements 10 app (they are generic and not camera specific).
The other camera is a Canon Vixia HG20 and is fully functional with either 32bit or 64bit Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
2 yrs ago I actually tested to insure Adobe Premiere Elements supported both cameras, but that was when I ran a 32bit workstation and Adobe Premiere Elements was only supplied as a 32bit app (ver9 trial I think).  I should have re-verified with Premiere Elements 10 before making the purchase commitment.  I hadn't anticipated that PE10 had gone 64bit and wouldn't support legacy 32bit install.
    John,
Yes, I've verified Adobe Premiere Elements 10 32bit version works with both cameras.  I installed to my old workstation (32bit OS).  Installing under virtual XP is an option on my current 64bit windows7 workstation, and that is something I do for really old apps (like 16bit apps).  Shouldn't be necessary to run a 32bit app in a virtual environment on a 64bit windows7 that runs both 64bit and 32bit apps (half of the windows7 bundled apps are still 32bit).  Still looking for the 32bit installation solution before resorting to that.
