Premiere elements 12 organiser

Can you change pixel size of frames in prem el 12 ?

mantiboa892
You can change the pixel dimensions of a still image in the Elements Organizer 12. You are not going to change the resolution of a video.
Select the photos of interest in the Elements Organizer 12.
Go to File Menu/Export As New File(s)
The Export New Files will look like this
1. Select JPEG
2. Where it says Size and Quality, click Custom to get the Custom Size dialog. Insert the pixel dimensions that you want, for example 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 ----
3. Browse to and set for a new folder, like the one that we are discussing in another thread where we are using the approach of getting your Time Lapse photos from the hard drive save location into one folder with just them, in contrast to trying to gather them in from the Elements Organizer.
Is this what you are seeking in this thread?

  • Installed Photoshop CS5 - Premiere Elements and Organiser now Crashes

    Hi
I've just installed Photoshop CS5 on my computer which alreadys had Premeire Elements 9 on.
Initially when I tried to launch Photoshop I got a crash to do with the scriptingsupport.8li which was resolved by disabling the plugin, however now when I try to launch Premiere Elements or the Elements Organiser, I get a windows error box.
Premiere Elements 9 is crashing due to a problem with WS.dll. I've tried restoring the dll from the original cab folder and checking for updates and installing the latest ones but still the problem persists.
Any ideas on how I can solve it?
    Thanks

I'm definitely going to look into it. Thanks. Have a great holiday.

Dell Precisions are great machines, you could look into their Studio or Studio XPS too. Not quite workstation qualtiy but I'm beating the snot outta one @home and it's holding up well for a 600 buck eBay chassis...

  • Premiere Elements 10 - Organiser 100% CPU

Hi there folks, I hope someone can help me!
I've recently bought the combined Photoshop & Premier Elements 10 package and installed it on my system, however I am having a massive problem with the Organiser.
When I load either of the programs my CPU usage shoots up to 100% and my system runs very slowly.. if I quit it also keeps the process running in the background at 100% cpu..
If I end the process my system returns to normal.
Also the organiser does not show thumbnails for all of my video clips - only some.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've tried removing and reinstalling it with no luck!
    Thanks in advance!
    System spec:
Intel i5 2500 running at stock speed, 8gb DDR3-1600 Vengence, Asus H67 board, Intel 80gb SSD, Samsung Spinpoint 1Tb HDD, Windows 7 HP 64bit, Norton IS 2012, Klite mega codec pack, VLC media player

No sorry I still have the issue. Have tried all of the fixes here to no avail (thanks all for the help though!)
Only thing I have noticed is if you don't actually load the organiser at all and just load premier directly; you can use the inbuilt organiser (top right of screen) and premier works fine.
I've given up on the organiser ever working correctly now. I've tried a complete system re-install and still no luck..

  • Premiere Elements file type for Elements Organiser

I use PSE13 organiser ( for pictures and movies) and editor. I recently purchased Premiere Elements 13 and have just edited my first movie.
I would like to only access Premiere Elements via the Photoshop Elements organiser, but I am unsure what file type to save my Premiere edited files, so that they can be imported and tagged in the Elements organiser, and also played via the elements organiser.
I only want to run one organiser. Is this possible and what should I be saving my final Premiere files as after editing. ( in the same way that I save a PSD file to a JPG once editing is complete in elements editor.
    Thanks

Your choice of export to conform to the support of the Elements Organizer seems limiting to me. But....
If I have a 1080p30 Timeline in Premiere Elements 13 Editor project and export it
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 H.264 1920 x 1080p30
That file saved to the computer hard drive can be taken into the Elements Organizer 13
    a. displaying a thumbnail with an image from the video
    and
    b. can be played back in the Elements Organizer 13 player.
I have not gone through all the export choices to sort out which formats will do likewise. But, this particular AVCHD.mp4 (1920 x 1080p30) result is
    as described.
What is your export choice now and is the end product importing into the Elements Organizer 13, displaying there, and playing back from there?

  • Organiser in Premiere Elements is driving me utterly mad

I have both Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9 on my system. With Photoshop I 'organise ' a large selection of foto's, around 13.000. Those are located on a windows home server in my gigabit network.
When I start Premiere, it opens that catalogue and the system slows down to a crawl. It takes minutes to start a new project. When I add video to my project, it adds it to the photo catalogue so the video shows up when I use Photoshop to manage my photos. I do not want that. I want Premiere not to open any catalogue. Ever. Iwant to start a video project, import video, work on it, export, delete the video source files. I want to use Premiere Elements standalone. I do not want to sue a catalogue, or library, or whatever. I want to see the files I add to the project, nothing else.
    Is this possible?

Those photos are not in your Premiere Elements project, if they appear on the Organize or Media panel. The only media files in your project are those in the Project panel.
The Organize or Media panel is merely a preview window to your Organizer's catalogs.
There is no reason the program should struggle or slow to a crawl because of photos are any files that appear in your Organizer catalog. At least not after the first time you open the program. There must be something else going on that's slowing down your machine.

  • Premiere Elements 12 wont open project

Hi, have been using PRE 12 for a year or so with no problems, about a month a go whilst using the programme I received a virus which was cleaned but since then I only get the sign on screen and when I choose new project I get the purple and black line for ages then it just sits there, my PC spec is good, Nvidea GTS 450, 6 Gig ram plenty of HHD as I said have had no previous problems I have googled every Q & A and tried everything as follows:-
Scanned with AV from AVG, Avast, Win Defender, Windows essentials all clean no problems, then uninstalled them as not wanting a conflict, tried running with no AV no joy
loaded PRE 12, 5 times now, un installed using windows control panel and Tune up utilities cleaning the registry every time before re installing with fire wall and AV off, found and deleted baddrivers.txt (just the once) disabled the GTS 450 still no joy, rolled it back and tried a previous version, tried loading with diagnostic start up ie nothing else loaded no joy, scandisk, chkdsk, scannow, every type of Windows check I can throw at it, had PRE10 loaded and had the same problem so un installed that, still no joy, ran a Win 7 repair disc (the one you can burn from your own PC) my PC was built professionally (DinoPC) but didn't come with a win 7 disc.
All other programmes run fine, internet fine, it will open the organiser where I down loaded the latest PRE 12 update I am just so frustrated can any one shed some light? Regards Clive.

    Thanks for the follow up.
With regard to the hosts file, are you just looking at everything below the line of the hosts file's default text # ::1   localhost, not above that line to # 127.0.0.1  localhost? As I mentioned in the blog post
The Windows 7 64 bit default hosts file is shown in Figure 1. Look for any entries below the line
    #  ::1    localhost
If any found, such as, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com, delete them only after a backup of the hosts file is made and saved to the computer desktop for safe keeping.
If you have not already, you may want to consider
    a. uninstall the program
    b. update the Adobe Application Manager
    c. reinstall Premiere Elements 12 with antivirus and firewalls disabled.
What you might want to consider also is getting Adobe involved via its Adobe Chat. To do that you could click on the following link. When it opens, click on the statement "Still Need Help? Contact Us." to bring up the Adobe Chat on the topic of Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up.
    Contact Customer Care
I suggest this since it might have some undocumented troubleshooting that might pin point the issue in your situation.
Please review the above and then let us know how you are progressing.
    Do not give up.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 8 won't do anything after opening - and after loading contents disk

Similar to an earlier thread, ie: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3058854#3058854 I couldn't get Premiere Elements to work - but this was back in July and I hadn't found the forums at that point, getting baffling lost trying to find anything at all useful on the Adobe website.
Premiere Elements 8 did originally display an error message if you tried to open a project, ie I managed to open an existing project or create a new one, but the program only ever showed a blank screen and no menu options could be selected so these projects were empty. This error message appeared if I tried to open a project I'd just created with premiere elements 8. It didn't even seem to like its own files.
It's a brand new pc, so it's never had any other versions of premiere on it. It came from Dell preloaded with premiere/photoshop elements but only the latter works.
Initially I spent hours trying to get this to work, searching for clues on the Adobe website, but then other pressing things have intervened and I gave up on it until today.
About the last thing I did was to download a trial version and install that and I entered my full version registration number when doing this. Still nada and I gave up.
Well today I had another go. If I opened my empty project from the organiser I got a blank screen, then I tried again from within Premiere. I also tried opening it as a new project giving it the same name as the original. Surprise, surprise, it worked and the monitor and timeline, etc, appeared. However it was temperamental and if I closed the program down I seemed to have to open it a few times in Premiere (not the organiser that never seemed to work) before the workspace appeared.
I should have thought myself lucky and left things like this. When the program started it reminded me that the stuff on the contents disk wasn't loaded. I decided to load it up too but in the process I got an error message. I think it said something about Framework 4 being loaded? by user system and that this needed to be changed. I let it go ahead and do this and left all the contents loading up. Takes a long time doesn't it? Needless to say this isn't the first time I've done this.
Well it was after this that I arrived back at the blank screen, nothing opening up at all just as it was when I started - a little loading project window appears, the blue progress line gets to 100%, but the application screen remains grey and none of the menu options can be selected. I tried loading the 8.01 patch but this made no difference.
Has anyone got any clues on this?
    It's a Dell Studio 15, i5, 4Gb RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate, 400 Gb free space.

There may be some clue in that while I was briefly able to use the application I added a few picture files and put them on the timeline.
Tidying up the pictures on the pc into one folder meant that one of these was no longer where Premiere Elements 8 expected it to be and on one of my trys at getting it to run again (with the same multiple attempts at opening a project as before) it did actually display a dialog asking for the missing file and then wonder of wonders the monitor window, timeline, etc, appeared as before.
This meant that the menus are accessible at present and so I've been able to check the background rendering preference and it is set to off.
Once I close the application down again I'm sure it's going to behave as before, ie blank screen again. True enough just tried this and it's back to blank screen mode. I didn't save the project so the files are still 'missing'.
BTW I've already turned off Autoanalyse in the Organiser.

  • How do I sharpen video from DSLR in Premiere Elements 11?

I've been using PE11 for some time now. Mostly for home videos and a youtube channel. Up until this point I have used a Canon Vixia HF M-50 which was great. I had to do very little adjusting the picture in post for what I needed. But I just recieved a Canon 7D with a couple good lenses and I will be selling the Vixia. I know the 7D has the capability to take much better video and I am getting better at the manual settings. Most tutorials out there say to have your settings with the sharpness and contrast turned all the way down and adjust in post. The sharpen "effect" doesn't really do much and my footage from the vixia looks much sharper. Any help out there for a newb? Or am I going to have to upgrade my computer and software to keep up with the new equipment?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi Steve,
    Thanks for getting back
I used a Samsung SMX-F40BP/XEU "Handycam" recording from the the image projected on to a screen. This produced mp4 video files on an SD Card, H.264/AVC Format with AAC Audio
I then dragged and dropped the raw video files on to the PC hard drive, and added the folder to the Adobe Organizer.
    When creating the projects I
    1)     Create a a New Project PAL Standard DV 48KHz to match the 4:3 aspect ratio of the original film
    2)     Drag the video/clip I intend to work with from the organizer window in to the work are of Adobe Premiere Elements 11.
When I was originally doing this yesterday for the first 15 clips, when added to the timeline, the video clips appeared as 1 contiguous clip as in the first image i posted.
When i went to work today I noticed that when i dragged a clip from the organiser to the work area, the video took longer to appear on the timeline, I could see the progress as it was added, with lines appearing where scenes/splits are being automatically added as in the second image I posted.
I noticed first thing that the clips were appearing in the organiser window with different icons, and in some cases I could expand the clips to see all scenes that had apparently been generated automatically. All clips in the orgnaiser now appear with the same icon, and are all expandable.
If i now create a new project and use one of the original clips that originally appeared as 1 contiguous clip on the timeline, it is now split automatically, as with the later clips.

  • How do I correct random audio pops in Premiere Elements 13?

Please help me with this audio issue! I hear occasional pops (skipped words, not smooth narration) in my edit. I shot the footage with a Rode video mic, but have not had this problem with this microphone before, and furthermore the pops appear not on the same marks every time, so it is not embedded in the original footage and therefore I conclude that the original audio quality is fine. At first I thought it was a yet-to-render issue, but after rendering it (while editing), and ALSO after publishing it to my computer to watch a version there, I still here random pops. Once I published it to my computer, the pops were stuck to specific points in the edit, but this is not so when I watch my edit in Elements, the pops are always in different places, and often will not be there when I roll back to try to immediately listen again for a just-heard pop.
Can anyone help with this? How can I smooth out my audio?

Before we go off the deep edge here, perhaps some clarification.
What is the brand/model/settings for the Canon camera that you are using?
I think that Hunt may be being jumping ahead here. Let me explain....
For example, the Canon SX1 lS generates files with the file name starting with MVI_XXXX.mov. These are AVCHD.mov files 1920 x 1080p30 and have no problems in Premiere Elements 12.
So, I would ask "In your case, is your MVI the file extension or the beginning of the file name?"
    Thanks.

  • Error Message in Premiere Elements 7

I have used Premiere Elements 7 successfully for some time. I recently got a new Windows 7 laptop and loaded PREL 7 onto it. When I start a new project, in the ORGANISE section, when I go to add media, I select as I did before an .mp4 file but after a short while I get an error message saying "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".  I have got the latest version of Quicktime installed, but I am now lost for how to get over this. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

    Bill,
    You are a top man!
I reloaded QT as you suggested and it worked. I would never have thought of that.
    Many thanks indeed.

  • How do I prevent automatic scene creation in Premiere Elements 11

I'm real noob with Premiere Elements, so hope I have the correct terminology. I am in the process of converting a collection of old Super 8 cine film to DV. I have the complete reels as a collection of MP4s on my computer hard drive, and am using Organiser as the source when adding videos to a project. While working I have been able to add a video, then quickly apply rotation, resizing (to fit the full 4:3 frame) and then edit the video into clips or scenes to form chapters on a DVD. However, when working yesterday I noticed that when I drag a video in to the project workspace, it is being automatically divided in to multiple scenes. I notcied also that in the Organiser the videos can be expanded to show the scenes. This has made what was a fairly straight forward task more complicated as I am having to examine and work with multiple clips instead of just the one.
I'm not aware that I made any changes to settings, but is there something I can change to stop this behaviour? it does seem that it is a background process performed by Organiser, as the video files I was working with originally that were not automatically split into scenes now appear to be. In the projects I orginally created the video still appears on the timeline as one contiguous clip.
Video added to timeline appears as 1 contiguous clip
Video added to timeline is automatically split in to multiple clips or scenes
I've had a look through preferences of Organiser and the project, but can't see anything obvious.
I understand that I can apply edits to 1 clip and paste the attributes across all, but it is the process of editing in to the scenes/chapters that I want that is now considerably more complicated and laborious than it was previously.
    Thanks
    Matt

  • Can't install photoshop elements 12 or premiere elements 12

just downloaded the above. when installing photoshop elements (64 bit) it gets as far as trying to install the organiser BUT then get error 1401 see below.
when trying to install premiere elements 12 (64 bit) get so far then error 1406 - see below.
have followed all adobe support webpage suggestions (clean boot, new user, deleted temp files.
    I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate.
    Thanks

I think "error 1406" is an issue on Windows, when the software can't add something into the registry.
Are you the admin or do you have the rights to read and write?
Do you have a software like "WebRoot Spysweeper" or something like that on your pc? They often reject these kind of orders

  • Premiere Elements 12 is here!

Version 12 of Premiere Elements has just been released.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere-elements.html?promoid=DJDWY
You can find a list of its new features and a link to some screen caps, demo tutorials and my reviews in our FAQs.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1302843?tstart=0
And, if you're interested, on Monday, September 30, I'll be drawing a name for a free copy of your choice of Muvipix Guides for version 12. To be eligible, just tag onto this thread at Premiere Elements support site Muvipix.com.
    http://muvipix.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12341

I've managed to partially solve my own problem so will outline it for anyone who has a similar issue.
Firstly the locations in the thread I linked to appear to me to just the preferences files rather than the actual catalogues. I think my catalogues are in the default location which is "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs".
It was the catalogue itself which was corrupted and specifically the file thumb.5.cache in the root directory of the catalogue.I deleted this file and hey presto Elements Organizer will now load. Everything except the thumb nails seems to be fine so after a few hours rebuilding the thumbs I am back to where I was before the corruption.
My hypothesis for the cause of the crash was windows performing a restart after installing updates overnight while I had the organiser open.

  • Basic questions about Premiere Elements 8

I'm new to this forum and although I use Photoshop Elements extensively, I am just trialling Premiere Elements 8. I have a number of questions from my (very limited) testing so far:
    1. Most of the videos that I download from my Sony DCR-DVD110 DVDs behave fine, but one of them only has half an audio track. The full audio was there on the DVD, but in the project it appears that the second half of the audio has been moved to overlay the first half, instead of following on. The video format is VOB. Has anyone else had this problem, or could suggest how it can be remedied?
    2. I understand from the help that I can split incoming video from a DV camcorder using the timecode on the tape. However, I do not seem to get the same option when downloading from DVD as above. The scene-splitter in the project list only allows content detection (which is unreliable), or regular divisions. Does anyone know if there a timecode on the VOB files, and is there a way of using this to split video into clips that is more reliable than scene detection?
    3. I do not understand the red/green line that appears under the Timeline ruler, just above the video. In one project, I have cleared clips out of the timeline and copied new ones in. The green or red line no longer changes at clip boundaries. Where it is green, the clip audio plays back, but not the video. Where it is red, both play. I do not seem to be able to find out what this means, let alone how to change it, and do not know how I set it in the first place. Does anyone know what this coloured line means, and how to change it so that all of the clips play both audio and video?
    4. When I start the program from the Welcome Screen, it gives me the option of opening an old project. Even though I select the project that I wish to open, this does not happen. Premiere Elements 8 starts, but the project does not load. Is this just a limitation of the trial version, or a common problem? Can I skip the Welcome screen and go straight into Premiere Elements 8?
I'm looking to buy Premiere Elements 8 along with an upgrade to Photoshop Elements 8, for the compatibility and common file organiser, but so far the above problems are putting me off a purchase. The programme also does not seem to be as intuitive as Studio 7, which was the last video editing software that I used (some years ago, taking data from a DV camcorder).
Your help and any recommendations that you may be able to add would be most welcome.

Virtually all of your problems are related to your trying to edit video from a DVD camcorder. Although the program is supposed to be able to work with these video files, they can be very problematic if your computer's operating system is not fully updated, you lack the current version of Quicktime and you do not have the proper codecs installed.
The red lines you're seeing above your video on the timeline are indications of this. These are indications that your video needs to be rendered by the program in order for the program to work with it.
If you'd like to try to work with DVD cam video despite these liabilities, there are things you can do to improve performance somewhat. The FAQs to the right of this forum explain how and why.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
But I recommend you convert your VOB files to DV-AVIs before you bring them into Premiere Elements. This will likely remedy nearly all of your problems (assuming your computer's hardware and software are up to the necessary specs and are fully updated).
