Premiere Elements 12 starts then automatically exit

I have just bought Adobe Premiere Elements 12 (full version) with the given serial number. I installed to a legal, activated Windows 7 Professional English 64bit. I also installed QuickTime 7 (latest version). I signed in with my adobe account. I run the programme as administrator, I have the welcome screen I click on new video/new project and then it starts loading and after 30-40 seconds it just simply quits without any error message. I also tried to uninstall and install again without antivirus programme the problem is the same. I have avast free antivirus, I have no extra firewall. I have Ati Radeoen HD4500 video card with the most recent driver.
Please let me know how to fix this problem because it is HIGHLY IMPORTANT to start using it today. We start our programme today and we expected to use this programme already now!!!!!!
Thank you in advance,
Tamas

Hi fdnyfish,
Thanks for posting Adobe forums.
Please provide following information :
What is the Graphics Card installed on the system ?
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
How much Ram do you have ?
Do you use any external Hard Drive ?
Are you using security software e.g. Norton, etc

For Premiere Elements 11 and 12, you cannot change its default project preset from NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 or its PAL counterpart PAL AVCHD Full HD1080i25 to something else.
For each project, you can set the project preset manually if you do not want the program to take over setting the project preset based
on the properties of the first drag to the Timeline.
To set the project preset manually, open the project to the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
In the Change Settings area, change the project preset. Before you exit that area, be sure to have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project" in the new project dialog.
Then you import your source media, using the appropriate Add Media choice.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
If you want a version of Premiere Elements that uses the default project preset of NTSC DV Standard or its PAL counterpart PAL DV Standard, then you need to look to a version of Premiere Elements earlier than 11.
Please let me know if you have any further questions on this or need clarification.
    Thank you.

  • Can't get Premiere Elements started

I've downloaded Premiere Elements. When I open the program and try to start a new project I get the 'accept conditions' diolog box. I check accept and the same box just keeps reappearing. Help?

    Hi Jeff,
I'm using Windows 7 and it's Premiere Elements 11. It is licenced for two copies. I've installed the first on a laptop and it works fine. ON the second laptop is where I'm having difficulties. I do know this laptop (HP G64 I think) seems to have an integrated graphics processor rather than a dedicated video card and I wonder if this might be part of the problem? Although It seems that I should be able to father into the program before I get an a warning saying the hardware is not correct.

  • Premiere Elements keeps closing automatically each time I re open it.

My new Premiere Elements program has been working great since purchased about 1 week ago. Suddenly, the progrom will not run.
It opens for about 1 minute or less and suddenly shuts down for no apparent reasaon.
The same sequence repeats each time I reopen the program.

First work through the following - PrE Hanging, or Crashing - Some Tips . If that doesn't help post back here using Got a Problem? How to Get Started as a guide to the details needed.

  • I have had an iPod Touch 3rd Gen for two years and the apps have worked fine in the past. Suddenly the apps will not launch, they appear to start then just exit. Is there a reason why it is doing this?

I have had an iPod Touch 3rd Gen for two years pretty much and the apps have worked fine. Suddenly when I go on an app it appears to launch then just exits. I tried turning the iPod off and on again, but that made all my apps behave like that. Settings and those things work fine still. Should this suddenly happen? I dont want to lose all 204 apps.

    - First try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try downloading/installing a new app
    - Restore from backup
    - Last, resore to factory defaults/new iPod.  this is last result since you will lose app data.

  • Premiere elements 11 hangs on exit (OSX)

I have a brand new install of photoshop elements and premier elements (and organizer).  Photoshop and organizer are working flawlessly.  Premiere hangs on close almost every time.  If I edit video then close and say "no" to save changes it hangs for sure.  I can do a complete reinstall then it will open and possible close once or twice.  Once it exhibits the hang behavior it seems that install is toast.  The OS itself is a month install of fully updated mountain lion.  Other apps I have on this computer are failrly straightforward but who knows.  I'm hoping someone has seen something similiar.  I really dont want to have to do a complete rebuild just because premiere wont work.
    Thanks,
    David

Thanks AT for the response.  I am very new to PrE so bear with me.  I figured it out and didnt find the exact culprit but maybe this will help someone.  I knew something was wrong with something in the realm of Adobe so I removed everything I could....elements photoshop and premiere, reader, and flash.  Also I did what I call a thorough removal...on a mac uninstalls are a bit more work I essentially did this:
    (as root)
    find / -xdev -iname "*<program name>*"
This finds anything on the local filesystem and ignores case for say premiere or organizer.  After de-Adobe-ing my system completely I reinstalled reader, flash, photoshop elements, premeire elements and now all is well.  It is important to note that the automated adobe uninstaller leaves a ton of stuff behind.  I have a suspicion the fix was in the manual removal somewhere.

  • Premiere Elements 10 freezes when exiting clip edit

I'm running PRE 10 on a Dell 1725 with Windows 7 premium, 4 Gb of RAM, 2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor. After I've edited a clip ie set the in amd out points, exiting the clip PRE 10 freezes and closes. Even without setting the in and out points this occurs. What's up? Appreciate any advice.

My apologies I thought I had answered all of the questions. I see the format issue was unanswered. The format is HDDV which I assume is MP4. The start up tests were done using a Pentax W90 camera. I simply chose to let the software determine the format and correct it but I did choose the right one in the options.
My comment about "not ready for shrink wrap" might be a little unfair but the software seems volitile and not very robust or forgiving. There is no message to inform you of a wrong format or any problems. It simply shuts down after transfering the last clip. It doesn't even seem to matter how many you put on the timeline.
In other words it sound like the same problem. Unfortunatly I'm working with an onboard Intel chip set which I believe is the same the Dell in the original post. I would gladly buy a new computer if the chip set is the problem.

  • Premiere Elements 8 hang on exit - fixed

    All,
As I posted earlier here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2435573#2435573 The "hang-on-exit" bug is now fixed in our latest beta drivers version 195.81. You can find those drivers here:
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
As a bonus, these drivers also fix a few issues with GPU accelerated Flash rendering, and fully support the Flash 10.1 beta 2 release, in case you are interested.

    Barthold,
Thank you for posting and nVidia for the work on these issues.

  • Premiere Elements 8 Will Not Start

    Hello,
Premiere Elements 8 on a Windows 7 PC.  Opening splash screen comes up, bar at the bottom of the splash screen says "gathering user information" and the black/purple bar moves along.... and that's as far as it gets.
Well, OK Organizer starts.  If you hit the big buttons to start a new project or open an existing project it looks like it might work - the black and purple bar moves (while the above is still going on) for a few seconds, then just stops without launching anything.
Tried removing and re-installing the program which did not help.  Installed the update which did not help.
Useles piece of software right now.  Any ideas as to whether it can be fixed?
    Regards
    TLH

    Hello Bill,
I am sorry to report the news is not good.  I left that opening screen run overnight and in the morning nothing had changed.
I then went to that article.
    Windows is up to date.
QuickTime was not installed on the computer.  I was hoping this was the answer.  I installed QuickTime, rebooted and although the opening screen continued its perpetual gathering user info, Premiere Elements started.  Once.  After that, same story.  If I re-boot the computer, then Elements will run.
Graphics and sound drivers are up to date.
Article seems to be written for Premiere Elements 9.  I have 8 so the line about the 9.0.1 upgrade probably does not apply to me.  In Elements, the "about" screen says version 8.0.  When I hit the update button, it says Elements is up to date.
There is no BadDrivers.txt file on the computer - most likely because I have version 8, not 9.
Ran disk cleanup, defraged the hard drive - no joy.
Rebooting works (to start Elements - no change with the opening screen which continues to gather user info), but I don't want to have to reboot every time I want to use Elements.
Temporarily disabling anti-virus realtime scanning (Norton) makes no difference - don't like to do that.
Removed and re-installed but no joy.
Thank you for trying to help, but I think I am going to put this one in the bad buying decision category, get rid of it and try another product.

  • Premiere Elements 12 Automatically Separates My Video Into Clips

Everytime I add media to Premiere Elements 12, it automatically gets separated into clips. I am working with video of people singing and these "automatic clips" cause a HUGE problem. They will be in the middle of a song and a word or two will get cut out. As you can imagine, this is extremely frustrating!
I've gone ahead and started editing the video anyway. However, when I save the project and reopen it later, there are even more "automatic clips". I have spent hours working on this video, and now it is nearly unusable because almost every song has a few words missing. How can I remove these unwanted gaps and make my video one long, fluid, and uninterrupted clip?
    I would appreciate help.
    Thank you!

    AngHoot
What computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 12 on? Assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit for now....
In the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace, click on the Organizer Tab at the bottom to open the Elements Organizer 12.
When in the Elements Organizer 12, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media Analysis and turn off all the options you see under that category, especially AutoAnalyzer options.
When AutoAnalyzer options are left on, the feature will split your video clips and "stack them". When and if you want to use the AutoAnalzyer feature, use it on an on demand basis only. Right click the media in Project Assets and select Run AutoAnalzyer.
The originals on the computer hard drive are unaffected by this unwanted happening. But, you cannot reverse what the AutoAnalzyer has done in the project and Elements Organizer. Instances of these "split stacked" media will need to be deleted and re-imported in Project Assets and Elements Organizer or just left as it.
This can happen in Premiere Elements (any version).
Please let us know if you are OK with the above and if it worked for you.
    Thank you.

  • "No Disk" Error (premiere elements 11)

I have successfully installed Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my PC:
         Dell XPS 8300
Intel Core i7-2600 Quad Core (3.4 GHz, 8MB Cache)
         • 1GB Radeon HD 6450 Graphics
         • 16GB DDR3 1333 RAM
         • 1TB 7,200RPM Hard Drive (2 x 500GB RAID 0)
         • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
When I open the application and click "New Project" I get the following error message:
    AdobePremiereElements.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive.  Please insert a disk into drive
         \Devices\harddisk2\DR3
I can "cancel", "try again", or "continue".  The only thing that works is to hit "cancel"  (several times).  Premiere Elements will then open, but the error message will keep recurring.   Adobe Support (Chat) has not been much help.
Anyone else come across this?  This seems to be a common error in earlier versions (version 9), but I can't seem to find any good solution to it.   HELP!!!!
UPDATE:   Just as an FYI..while it's possible (but doubtful) there is preloaded software interfering, there is no other software (or viruses) installed on this computer.

  • Error generating movie Adobe Premiere Elements 11

    Hello,
I recently upgraded from Adobe Premiere Elements 8 to 11 (11.0).
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, running on Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.5 GHz, 4GB Ram, with 75GB free diskspace.
My input movies are AVCHD 1440x1080 25i video's (MTS files).
Everything is running fine. Editing goes smoothly (even smoother than when I was still using PE8). So in that sense I'm very satisfied and I think my system can handle it well. It doesn't seem to run out of memory, etc.
However, now I want to generate the output movie. The movie is about 10 minutes long and has some music and transitions under it. Previewing the movie goes fine.
I've tried uploading it to Youtube (HD 1440x1080 file). The progress monitor stays at 0% for 5 minutes and then suddenly goes 2 100% in a few seconds and afterwards starts to upload the movie. However, the movie that's actually uploaded contained only the first 4 seconds of the video. When I tried again, it was about 14 sec.
So, then I tried generating movies locally on the PC. I tried:
    Adobe Flash HD 720p.
    MPEG2 HDTV 1080i 25
    MPEG2 PAL DVD Widescreen
and some other formats (can't exactly remember which).
All of them ended with errors: "Error compiling movie", with cause unknown.
So, I haven't been able to generate any movie and I can't find out why it fails.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks,
    Michiel

These are not specifically for PreElements, but since other Adobe products have the same "core" in many instances, worth reading
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
Use Taiyo Yuden single layer or Verbatim Two layer Or Falcon Pro for inkjet printable Two layer

  • Premiere Elements 9.0 will not open

In August 2011 I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 9.0 with a new Dell PC using Windows 7 64-bit. Since then I have used Premiere Elements many times for video editing without problems. The last time I used it was about 3 months ago. This week I tried to use Premiere Elements, but was unable to load it. The software would start to load up to the point of displaying the full screen with task bar, but without showing the individual “panes”, at which point it appeared to freeze. If I then tried to use the drop down menus (File/New/Project or Files/Open Project) an error message would pop up saying “Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.” after which the program would shut down. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling Premiere Elements, but it has not solved the problem. Any ideas how to fix it?

    DavidBrum
If the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 problem set in after the installs of any one of the programs installed, then you should rule that factor in or out for each systematically. Each would be a prime candidate for troubleshooting exploration.
But, before you do that, let us try deleting the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 settings file. In Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, it can be found in the path
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements Folder
    9.0 Folder
and in the 9.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not correct the problem, then deleted the whole 9.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
    IMPORTANT
    a. Make sure you are working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so you can see the complete path.
    b. Do not detour or get lured into a Premiere Elements 9.0 Folder instead of the Premiere Elements Folder/then 9.0 Folder.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • How do I remove the Adobe Premiere Elements Trail Version Sign from my video?

I'm making a video using the Adobe Premiere Elements, but  they have a trail version logo across the screen so I cannot fully make a video without that showing. Is there any possible way that I can remove it? Thanks!

    uggrrl
You cannot remove the Adobe watermark from an export of the Premiere Elements tryout, be it an export to file saved to the computer hard drive or a burn to disc.
But, you can remove the Adobe watermark from the Premiere Elements project file (known as the project.prel) after you purchase the program.
All you do is open the project file from the tryout in the purchase Premiere Elements and then....
    a. In the opened project, go to Timeline Menu/and click on Delete Rendered Files
    or
    b. do nothing (some of us have found that the Adobe watermark automatically disappears from the tryout project file when that tryout project file in opened in the purchased Premiere Elements.
See which one works for you. The classical version of the how to is "a" above.
    Looking forward to your results.
    Thanks.
