If everything is still unsettled at this point, let us try this.
Go to the following web site and follow its "Important: Very Important Instructions" word for word to download the tryout of Premiere Elements 12.
http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
You will see the specific file before you click on it. BUT DO NOT click on the file until you have followed the "Important" Very Important Instructions" there. Otherwise you will get hit with an Access Denied message.
Once you have downloaded the program, install it and insert your purchased serial number in it.
If any problems with the above, then it is time for Adobe (only one that can help you at that point) to sort out the details of your purchase and what is going on with your order. If you do this, click on the following link to open it. When the link opens, click on the statement "I still need help" to bring up the Adobe Chat. The topic should be Orders, Refunds, and Exchanges.

Please let us know the outcome.
Thanks.

  • Help with Adobe Premiere Elements window appearing!

I've owned Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 for about 5 or 6 years now. I still have the original disc and serial number. I installed it on my laptop (Sony Vaio bought in 2009. Runs on Vista), and when I open the program up and click on "files and folders" and double click on a video, I keep getting a pop-up saying "Adobe Premiere Elements is not working." And then the program closes. It frustrates me. I can't afford a new update. Anyway this can be fixed? It never did this to me on my old laptop which I do not have anymore. Thank you for your time.

Before you focus on the Premiere Elements 4 itself, let us look at the computer environment and the properties of the video that you are importing into the project.
    1. Given you have Premiere Elements 4. Is it installed on Windows Vista 32 or 64 bit?
    2. What are the properties of this video that you are importing into the new project and what have you set as the project preset to match the properties of that source media?...I am looking for video and audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, file extension, pixel aspect ratio, duration. If you were to import a few jpg photos into a new project would that shut down the project/program as well?
    3. Do you have the latest verision of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 4? Do you have the program set for Run As Administrator and set to run from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
    4. Is your video card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the video card?
    5. Is your computer optimized with a program such as ccleaner (regular cleaner and registry cleaner)?

    6. Please describe your computer resources?

  • How to set up user account in Windows 7/Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1?

At the present time I have only the Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit operating system which works from a User Account with Adminstrative Privileges when it comes to using Premiere Elements.
I have read that in Windows 7, the default user account is one with standard rights. My first question is, when using Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 in general in a Windows 7 32 or 64 bit environment, do you have to elevate the user account to one with adminstrative rights and, if so, how?
My second question is, is there anything in the Windows 7 user account setup that would specifically target the Premiere Elements Project Archiver/Archiver "Trimmed" as well as Copy options to abort with the message "no user privileges to perform this operation"? The rest of the program performs OK. Supposedly inadequate hard drive space is not a factor.
Thanks for any insights into these two questions.

Just an update to the question that I presented when I started this thread.
You really never did say what type of a User Account you are using in your Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 on Windows 7? But based on the information provided by several users, User Account with Administrative Rights seems to be the way to go since all of them were using it and had systems that were running well. I would have expected that based on the Premiere Elements Windows XP requirements. I have yet to have someone come forward to say that they are using Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 on Windows 7 with a User Account with Standard Rights and the program is running well. Will you be that one?
Besides me switching from Windows XP to Windows 7 in the near future, what motivated this line of questioning was the report that I had seen of a user with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1on Windows 7 who was reporting "permission" error messages when trying to archive a project with the Project Archiver (Archiver "Trimmed" and Copy options). Further questioning brought out that the problem extended to the AutoSave feature as well. The user claimed to be saving to an external hard drive (formatted NTFS) with about 800 MB free space. And still further questioning brought out that the error message included a free space and/or permissions error. Yes, there were extremely large file sizes involved here (way over 4 GB)
The story had a happy ending where the remedies were:
    1. User Account with Administrative Rights
    and the major
    2. Formatting the thought to be NTFS external hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS.

  • How do I set the thumbnail image of my videos that export to my computer?  I'm using Premiere Elements 11 on a windows 8.1 PC 64bit.

How do I set the thumbnail image of my videos that export to my computer?  I'm using Premiere Elements 11 on a windows 8.1 PC 64bit.
Or how does Premiere 11 determine where to set the image for the video it is exporting?
I already know how to use Freeze frame and save the image to my computer by Publish+Share/Computer/ Immage.

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. We are all visitors here.
Just a bit of history....back in the days of Premiere Elements 4, you could set a "poster frame" in what was called the Project area. You did this by right clicking a blank area there and, from the drop down menu that appeared, selecting View/Preview Area, and using the poster frame feature there.
As I said, when a video imports into Premiere Elements, the thumbnail of the import has been presenting as the first frame of the video. With this Preview area "poster frame" option, you could set the video's thumbnail in the Project area so that the first frame was another frame in the video. But, this "perk" was restricted to thumbnails of the video in Project area.
If you exported to file with the first frame modified video, the export's thumbnail in Windows Explorer would present with other than the real first frame or the poster frame as the first frame.
Also, in more recent versions, I have observed that the export to file does not display the real first frame of the video in Windows Explorer. Seems random, but I have not kept track.
And, remember, at the onset I wrote
As far as I have ever seen, Premiere Elements Windows uses the first frame of the video for its thumbnail in the program.
I know of no way within Premiere Elements to control what the program opts to do in this matter. In some compatibility
issues, it opts to give no image but a generic one.
I did not say that you can expect to have the Premiere Elements' export file's thumbnail in Windows displaying with its real first frame. And, the more you get into this, depending on the versions, more details need to be added to my comment about "...first frame of video for its thumbnail in the program..."
I would have to look into all this further to get perspective on the contributing factors.
    ATR
Add On...The Poster Frame feature appeared in versions 4, 7, 8, and 9 by my count.

  • Downloading Photoshop/Premiere Elements for Windows

I am trying to download Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10 for Windows on my PC. There are many different things that are there to download. Do I download them all? If not, which ones do I do? My computer is a 64-bit.
    These are my options:
    Adobe Photoshop Elements10 Windows installer
Adobe Photoshop Elements10 Windows installer package
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 windows 32 bit installer
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows 32 bit installer package
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows 64 bit installer
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 WIndows 64 bit installer package
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows all content installer
All Themed HD and SD content- includes bday party, roadtrip, etc.
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows HD1 content installer
HD1 content installer - includes broadway, kids channel, etc
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows HD3 content installer
HD3 content installer - includes extreme sports, news reel, etc
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows SD1 content installer
SD1 content installer- includes bday party, road trip, etc
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows SD2 content installer
SD2 content installer - includes broadway, kids channel, etc
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Windows SD3 content installer
SD3 content installer - includes extreme sports, news reel, etc.
Anyways.....a lot of that seems repetitive and I just am not sure if I am supposed to download it all or only certain ones. If someone could help me out, great! Thanks.

The Adobe Download Manager will deal with everything automatically. You can download both programs simultaneously if you have a fast connection, other wise I would recommend installing Photoshop Elements first. Then download Premiere Elements 64 bit. Finally update the content fpor |premier Elements and you are good to go.

Photoshop Elements 10 is only available as 32 bit. There is no 64 bit version. However the 32 bit version will install and run OK on a 64 bit operating system.
If you're running 64 bit Windows then Premiere Elements 64 bit will install automatically. 32 bit Premiere Elements 10 will not install on 64 bit Windows 7 or 8.

  • Transferring Premiere Elements 12 files from Mac to Windows

I am adminstrating an oral history project.  We have several people who will be editing using Premiere Elements 12.
The computers will be Macs and Windows.
We need to be able to transfer project files and completed movies between both types of computers.
Fats32  is limited because files can only be 4G and the raw files are about an hour and the finished file will be able 13-15GB
NTFS can only be read by MACs and written by Windows
HFS+ only written and read by MACs
Any suggestions for what media can be used to transfer and this is another big questions will a ac file be readable by windows and visa-versa
    Thank you for your suggestions

I am strictly an Elements Windows person but, taking that out of the equation, I would go Windows.
Premiere Elements Windows and Mac are essentially the same in video editing principles, but there are differences between the two. And, these differences often end up with Premiere Elements Mac on the short side...many Windows Only features.
A while back I wrote a blog post on Mac Information Round Up to try to focus in on the Premiere Elements Mac situation. That blog post link is
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/08/pe11-mac-information-round-up.html
Included in the blog post is a long list of WIndows Only Effects. The most annoying Windows Only for the Mac people appears to be related to the Green Screening Key, Blue Screen Key, Chroma Key. I propose the use of the Difference Matte for Premiere Elements Mac users as mentioned in the blog post.
And, the Elements Organizer in Premiere Elements Windows does come with a slideshow feature.
If you are going to go Windows, best have Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer so that it is a 64 bit application which can take advantage of the 64 bit resources. Check me on this, but I am almost certain that Premiere Elements Mac needs to be on 64 bit, but also with 64 bit processor in order for it to be a 64 bit application.
If there are to be "flaws" in the program, they are more likely to be troubleshooted to resolution in Premiere Elements Windows than Premiere Elements Mac. Versions of Premiere Elements Mac purchased from the Mac App Store have been highly problematic, and the cause(s) often left unresolved.
That is my take on the matter.

  • Premiere Elements 12 Windows project to Mac

I started my project on Windows 7 with Premiere Elements 12. Now I want to work with the project on Mac with Premiere Elements 12 (the same version). Unfortunately I got the error "The project is not compatible with current version of Premiere Elements". I used Project Archiver which created a new folder with all files on an external disc. Mac opened it and Premiere started to load it but then threw the error.
Would it be possible to open a project done on Windows with Mac? I really need this because I've done quite a lot work with the project but my Windows license is over and converted to Mac.

    TitusK
The project file (project.prel) created in Premiere Elements Windows cannot be opened in Premiere Elements Mac. The reverse is also true.
One possibility might be to export your Premiere Elements Windows Timeline to the appropriate .mov or .mp4 and then import that file
into Premiere Elements Mac new project. But, from what you wrote about your present circumstances, this does not seem to be possible.
This is the situation with Premiere Elements (any version).
Be aware that there are several Windows Only features in Premiere Elements.
Please do not hesitate to ask if any questions or need further clarification on anything written here.
    Thank you.

  • Opening Premiere Elements (9) projects make under Windows on Mac

    Hi,
I've switched from PC to Mac. I copy my projects of Premiere Elements (9) on my new Mac. After re-installing Adobe Premiere Elements 9, I can't open my projects. I recieve this message "The projetct is not compatible with the current version of Premier Elements" (in french "Le projet n'est pas compatible avec la version actuelle de Premiere Elements"). Why? There is a way to open my projects made in my old PC to my new Mac?
    Thank's

    BalooRuf
Classically you cannot open a project (project.prel file) created in Premiere Elements Windows in Premiere Elements installed on a Mac computer. And, the reverse is also true.
You can export your Premiere Elements Windows Timeline content to a .mov and .mp4 file, and then be expected to transfer that file to Premiere Elements Mac. Does that work for you? I have never heard of anyone finding an alternative.

  • I upgraded my computer to 64bit.  How can I transfer my Premiere Elements 8.0 (32bit) to new computer?

In October 2014, I purchased Adobe Premier Elements 8.0 (and the APE Templates 8.0) for my work computer (32bit Windows 7).  Now they gave me a new computer which is 64bit (Windows 7).  How can I get my Premier Elements program back on my new computer without having to purchase it all over again?  I only had the program for a couple of months before they upgraded my computer  to a 64bit  I submitted my question through "Adobe Chat" and they said they couldn't help and I would need to check the forums.  Thanks to anyone who can help!   Jay

What did you have for installation...
    a. installation files from a purchased download from Adobe
    or
    b. installation disc from boxed packaging of the product?
If you have an installation disc, then insert the disc into the burner tray and follow the instructions for the installation
that present sequentially. Remember that Premiere Elements 8 on Windows 7 64 bit is still going to be a 32 bit application.
It will be running in the 32 bit compatibility mode of the 64 bit computer and the 32 bit limitations would apply. But Premiere Elements
8 will install on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit but not as a 64 bit application.
Now if you purchased an download, those downloads are typically specific to the operating system to which it was downloaded.
Whether or not installation files downloaded to a 32 bit computer will work on 64 bit computer is questionable. Best advice is to
try it. You will get an immediate message from the computer and program if it is a no go.
Please review and let us know the outcome.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

Add On...Premiere Elements Windows is a 64 bit application only when it is version 10, 11, 12, or 13 run specifically on

  • What's new in Premiere Elements 11?

Adobe has given the entire Elements suite a major overhaul in version 11. Premiere Elements, Photoshop Elements and the Elements Organizer all have completely redesigned interfaces – bright, uncluttered workspaces with easy-to-read text and tools tucked away until you need them.
But, in addition, Adobe has added some very nice new features:
    In Premiere Elements:
64-bit support for Windows 7 and 8 as well as for Mac OSX.
Automatic project set-up, based on the first clip you add to your timeline.
Expanded support for video from portable devices, like iPads and smartphones, as well as new support for AVCHD 1080p.
The old Sceneline has been replaced by Quick view, a full-featured timeline for quickly pulling together video projects.
The Time Remapping effect, which allows you to suddenly shift your video into fast or slow-motion and then back again!
A new Adjustments panel offers access to a number of tools for improving your video’s color and sweetening your audio.
The old Properties panel has been replaced by a new, easier to use, easier to access Applied Effects panel.
A library of FilmLooks that instantly make your videos look like a haunting horror film, a stylish film noir or a sunbleached summer memory.
There’s no longer the need for a second installation to add additional content. The program now downloads additional content, including Movie Menu and InstantMovie templates, automatically as needed.
    The Organizer
A redesigned interface that helps you sort your media files by date, place, event and even the people in them.
A more powerful interface for locating your files and filtering your searches.
An improved Media Analyzer that gathers more information more efficiently, and less intrusively, than ever.
Tools for uploading your photos and videos directly to YouTube, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, Photoshop Showcase and Adobe Revel.
For more information on these new features, see Adobe's official product page.

  • Premiere Elements Debug Event MonitorMixer.cpp-201

    Hello.
Today while editing a vacation video I encountered this message window:
I'm using Premiere Elements 7 in WinXP 32 bit service pack 3.
Audio card is a Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1 with latest drivers installed.
The video source of the project is a *.VOB taken from a DVD, JPG pictures, MP3 audio (no errors in Getting Media)
Actually I'm halfway of the editing and yesterday was going great as usual, same files, same sources.
I did not install anything new, just shut-off the computer and restarted.
Audio Hardware settings > Default Device: Premiere Elements Windows Sounds (the only one available) // ASIO settings: SB Live Wave Device + AnvsoftSound_Device
    Here are the ASIO Settings:
Here I can change all the settings and click OK, but when I check the settings are back again like in the above picture.
    My Project settings:
Section of the Timeline that has been working correctly until today:
    Suggestions are very welcome.

    This is wierd.
Always while testing I slided the timeline bar where the time/numbers are (the one half dark/half grey) and now everything works fine.
But... what's that bar standing for? How does it work and what does it do?

  • Can you change Premiere Elements 13 timeline to act like Premiere Pro CS4?

    Hi there,
I recently started using Premiere Elements 13 after previously having used Premiere Pro CS4 (both mac versions if that makes a difference). All is great but I have encountered one major difference which makes Elements 13 a bit of a pain and was wondering if it was changeable. Basically, when you alter the length of a clip that's touching up against another one they remain stuck together and everything else in the timeline shifts up accordingly. In Premiere Pro CS4 if you changed the length of a clip joined to another (where the two join) it would simply create a gap. Frankly, I find the latter a much better way of working. What I tend to use Premiere for on the whole is adding still images to a voice track rather than working with video clips with linked audio. I know this isn't exactly what Premiere is designed for but it worked so much better in CS4 and wondered if you could tweak Premiere Elements 13 to behave a bit more like CS4.
    Any help much appreciated!
    Iain

Hold down the Ctrl key as you shorten the duration of a clip using the mouse cursor. That should give you the gap that you seek. That works for Premiere Elements Windows. (I am strictly an Elements Windows user.)
With your Premiere Elements Mac computer, try holding down the Command key as you shorten the duration of a clip using the mouse cursor.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
    Thank you.

  • On how many computer can I install Premiere Elements (one licens)

On how many computer can I install Premiere Elements (one licens)

    number
What are the computer operating systems involved? Are you installing from installation files (from online download purchase) or from installation disc
(from purchase in boxed packaging)? Answers to those questions would probably get you the best possible answer to your question.
    If installation files.....
You are not going to be able to install a Premiere Elements Windows purchased serial number on a Mac computer or a Premiere Elements Mac
purchased serial number on a Windows computer.
    If installation discs...
Box packaging typically comes with two installation discs....one for Windows and one for Mac. In this type of situation, typically you use one
serial number for them both. If that is the case, then the following applies...
Adobe allows you to use the same purchased activated serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. And, you do not use them at the same time.
If you are dealing with two computers with the same operating system, then you should be able to use that same purchased serial number for that operating system on no more than 2 of your computers. Again, you do not use them at the same time.
Please let us know if any questions or need clarification.

Can you do Green Screen/Blue Screen/Chroma Key on Adobe Premiere Elements 12 for mac?  If not, what are the alternatives?

ChromaKey, GreenScreen Key, and BlueScreen Key are not included in Premiere Elements Mac.
Some suggest Videomerge as the alternative. I do not. But Videomerge is not THE alternative.
Instead, I prefer the Difference Matte as a substitute for the 3 absent keying effects. Please check out my blog post on that which includes
