Is it possible to purchase Adobe Premiere Elements 13 user guide.

    learnerinneed
Thanks for the follow up. With the cost of ink and paper these days, the Help PDF shines as a PDF file saved to the computer hard drive for reference. In the later versions, the PDF has hundred plus pages.
I did purchase Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 in the box packaging when they were released. I still have them installed on my computer even when I went on to later versions and other computer operating systems. I have not looked at what was in the box since the purchase. I looked tonight in the box to refresh my memory as to what User Manual might have been included.
What I found for Premiere Elements 4 in the way of a User Manual as a 23 page booklet titled
    Adobe
    Premiere
    Elements 4
    Getting Started Guide
    Windows XP
    Windows Vista
Is this the Premiere Elements Users Manual for PE4 to which you referred?
We would be glad for the opportunity to be of assistance in threads if you have questions about the program and need clarification on anything written here or elsewhere on the program's features and workflows. If you are used to working with Premiere Elements 4, then period of adjustment will set in...major change in features and workspaces with versions later than 10. Principles tend to remain the same, but it is very frustrating to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature.
We are not Adobe here...rather user to user. And, this user wants you to succeed. Exploration and experimentation are major tools for success.
    Best wishes

  • Premiere Elements 7 Crashing on Share DVD every time on Vista 32

I am running Premiere Elements 7 on Vista Home Premium 32 bit. The machinse is up to specs, quad core, 3GB RAM, Ge Force 9500GT etc. I'm in the US using NTSC. Drive C; has 127GB free and E:, also internal, has 73GB free. Both get defragged and they get cleaned with CCleaner etc.
I had not used PE7 in a while and I shot video of a birthday party at a go kart track on Canon HV-20. I imported the video, edited it, added quicktracks music and exported the result as DVD going to folder 4.7GB as per Appendix of Muvipix Guide. [note no crash when I did this] I then burned that TS_Video folder to a DVD but it didn't play on DVD player. So I came back to PE7 to try writing an actual DVD directly.
Whenever I click Share > DVD now I get an immediate crash of the program. Windows provides this info in that error box:

I had to go Task Managaer > Processes and end the APE7 process before I could launch the program again....but the I tried another project entirely, an older one that was shot on a Sony DV Cam and it caused the same crash.
I cleaned the temp files and registry, restarted....same thing. So I went to this document:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404998.html#Before
...and started working through troubleshooting steps. I did this so far:
    1. Make sure that the system meets the minimum requirements for Adobe Premiere Elements 7
    check
    2. Install the latest version of Premiere Elements.
    checked, no updates available
    3. Install current Windows service packs and other updates.
check, every single one is installed on this system. I run CS4 with PSCS4 Extended and Lightroom 2.5 all the time here.
    4. Re-create the Premiere Elements PluginCache.
This I could not do. Holding Shift on starting APE7 had no effect. It just brings me to the Phosotshop Online signing screen on the elft with Open or Instant Movie on right etc.
    5. Re-create the Premiere Elements preferences folders.
Could not find them at that location. Will come back to that as I have done complete reinstall of APE7 and deleted evrything I could find at that time.
    6. Disconnect IEEE 1394 devices.
check, not a startup problem anyway
    7. Troubleshoot third-party plug-ins.
    Have not installed any
    8. Run Premiere Elements in a new user account.
    check, crashes same way
    9. Run Premiere Elements while no other applications run in the background.
check, very limited set of apps running
    10. Update the video card driver.
check, latest Nvidia GeFroce9500GT driver installed, also tried previous version, no effect
    11. Verify that other device drivers are compatible with Windows.
check, devices were made for an work fine in Vista32
    12. Troubleshoot QuickTime.
check (**PARTLY!**)...I have the latest QT Pro 7.6.4 and latest iTunes installed and working fine.
HOWEVER,  I do have an issue in PSCS4 where I am not able to open QT Movies in Photoshop. The only response from Adobe's support ticket has been I should upgarde to QuickTime 7.1 or later...Duh, I have 7.6.4 and had said that in ticket. May be this is related?? May be it's a CODEC issue? I do have alot of CODECs on the machine that were set up by Zoomplayer's install center ioncluding latest DiVX etc.....but that should be OK I would think???
    13. Check for codec problems.
See #12 above...do I disable every CODEC?? Not sure where to with that....?????
I did read this..."..If you are not certain which codecs should remain on your system, contact Adobe Technical Support for additional help.
To temporarily disable a video or audio codec, see "Temporarily disable a codec (Windows Vista)" (TechNote kb404892) for details....."
    14. Identify the file that causes the problem.
Check, any do. Have a number of Elements projects, each of them causes the problem. Even creating a new project with two scenes in timeline and choosing Share > DVD will crash it now.
    15. Remove and Reinstall Premiere Elements.
Check- ran uninstall, dleted all APE7 and APE4 folders I could find and ran CCleaner on temp files and regsitry.
RE-downloaded APE7 from Adobe Store and after a reboot installed it. Rebooted. Boom same crash.
    16. Check for font problems.
Uh, I have only added three fonts to what's in the system...any others were installed by Adobe CS4 Design Premium...didn't spend any time on this.
    17. Set the virtual memory paging file to the default size.
    Have not tried this.
    18. Optimize handling of temporary files by Windows
    check
    19. Repair and defragment hard disks.
check, do that regularly. Most of my content lives on a 4TB Drobo anyway, but all the APE7 edits have been with fast internal drive that is not fragmented and has lots of room. All scratch disks are set to E: internal SATA 7200 drive...Vista is on C:
    20. Scan the system for viruses.
Absolutely clean. Running Norton360 and have run exhaustive checks and scans with help from the Tweaks guys including ESET online scanner- Absolutely clean of malware, spyware, trojans, viruses, rootkits or even tracking cookies!
    21. Visit the Adobe User to User Forums.
    Tada! Here I am.
    22. Reinstall your capture card software.
No cpature problems....it's built in FW13945 on my HP Media Center m8120N and has always worked fine.
    23. Contact Adobe Technical Support.
    Awww man.....really?
Other stuff I have done and summary:
    ## I've read Steve say these kinds of problems are often Audio Driver problems. I have now installed latest Audio drivers from Realtek HD and Haupagge...latest are there and they work fine. Still crash.
    ## I've flashed both of my DVD writers drives, which are SATA, to latest Firmware and verified them.
Final note, I CAN share a file and choose to upload it to YouTube which is what I did with the Birthday video.
I have tried rendering the whole timeline before clicki9ng on Share > DVD still  immediate crash. I *WAS* able to go there when I first edited this rememebr and I saved the DVD to a 4.7GB folder.
    Thanks for any help!

After installing recent nvidia drivers you should then uninstall the nvidia stereoscopic 3D driver from Control Panel> Uninstall a Program. This has a known conflict with APE.

  • Premiere Elements 13 won't launch in Windows 8.1 (Click the icon and nothing happens)

I'm running the trial version of Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8.1 64-bit. It's a brand new PC built for video editing. Everything worked perfectly for about a week and all of a sudden I'm unable to start the program. I click the icon and nothing happens. No splash screen, no error code, no spinning circle cursor.
I have the latest video card drivers for my graphics card.
I've tried uninstalling the program, removed every last Adobe file from my PC, uninstalled all instances of Microsoft Visual C++ and reinstalled Adobe Premiere Elements 13. I tried the same with a fresh download of the program. Neither worked.
I've tried installing a couple .dll files based on a similar thread (where a program called iLivid was the issue). I don't have iLivid on this PC and adding the new drivers didn't work.
For the few days that the software was working I loved it and was ready to purchase. Unfortunately I won't be able to buy it until I can get it to launch on my PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

My major problem was with the reliability of the uninstall reinstall of Premiere Elements 12 Windows. I did not encounter any issues in this regard with 11. And, I have only looked at the 30 day tryout of 13 from Adobe. My computers are Windows XP 32 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8 and later 8.1 64 bit. The following describes what got me through the worse of these hassels.

I am not sure if the above will work for you with 13. But, it would be worthwhile to check them out.
Since you are dealing with current version 13, it might be a good idea to get Adobe via its Adobe Chat involved, with the hope of some remote control of your computer troubleshooting to try to get to the core of the issue. Chat Panels have been hard to come by for some of these issues, but let us try this route.

    Adobe ID and signing in
Adobe ID, sign in, and account help

If the link does not hold its set, then you will need to navigate to the Chat Panel using the above titles as guides.
Depending on the outcome....if you purchased Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe direct within the last 30 days, you can request your
money back from Adobe. If you purchased elsewhere, then you are left to deal with the return policy of the seller.
We will be watching for further developments.

  • DVD burning error in Premiere Elements 11

I recently filmed a friend's memorial service for their family.  I have footage from two different cameras that I have edited in Premiere Elements 11, for the purpose of making a DVD of the service.
I run into a problem when I try to burn the project to a DVD.  The burn goes a short distance (at most 5%) then pops an error that reads:
    internal software error:.\win\Primo\primo_command.cpp, line 124
I have tried making sure that all other programs are shut down (to the best of my ability - antivirus won't completely shut down, but can be put into a mode where it won't do any background activity).  I've rendered the project into AVI and loaded the AVI file into the timeline.  No matter what, I keep getting shut down at that same point.  When it occurs, my DVD drive disappears from the machine and I have to restart the machine to get the drive back.
I've checked and I have the most current firmware for the drive.  I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on a Dell laptop.
Does anyone have any ideas what this error message means and how to correct this?  The service was about a month ago and I'd really like to get this finished up and handed off to the family.

Thank you for your helpful information.
If you have the burn to folder feature working then you can get this immediate project done and then work out the burn to disc problem.
This is the solution to get your DVD-VIDEO Standard on DVD disc with what you have working at the present time...
    Publish+Share
    Disc
    DVD
and in the burn to: select Folder (4.7 GB) and designate a save location for it.
Download and install the free ImgBurn software and use that to take the VIDEO_TS Folder in the burn to folder to a DVD disc in DVD-VIDEO format (with required disc File System). The following is a popular online how to.
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_imgburn.cfm
The link for the download should be included in this above link.
    Basically
    1. Open ImgBurn and click on "Write files/folder to disc".
    2. In the dialog that opens, select File Menu/Browse for a source folder. Navigate to the VIDEO_TS Folder (only it), select it, then hit Select Folder to enter it into the program.
    3. Then hit the Build button at the bottom of the dialog.
There are settings that you can look through. But, the program takes over and does the essentials for you, offering messages at times as it directs you through its program.
This will work great for you to get you through your project which you want to get out sooner rather than later.
Please let me know if you see any problems with this plan.
While you are doing that I will see what I can find about this Primo Software program which you say you do not have.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
I've bought recently Premiere Elements 12 and I'm really surprised, all the menus and descriptions are in Polish, but when I try to put a Text with Polish character it doesn't work. Even though I use 'typical' fonts like Arial...

And, Adobe Press offers the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Classroom in Book. There may be others, but I do not go the purchased book route.

  • Capturing from Sony DCR in Premiere Elements 13 not possible?

Premiere Elements does not find the device (SONY DCR-TRV120E PAL), although it is recognized in "Devices and Printers" as "AV/C Subunit / Sony DV Camcorder" (WIN 7) and the device is also recognized and capturing correctly under MS Movie Maker.

    Thanks for the reply.
Hope you can use the workarounds suggested in the Adobe document.
Are you within 30 days of purchase from Adobe direct on this one? If so, you can seek a refund/money back from Adobe.
If you purchased from an authorized reseller, then you have to deal with the seller according to the sellers return/refund policy.
If an Adobe online purchase, then Adobe Chat Orders should be able to take care of the refund details.

  • What's new in Premiere Elements 13?

Premiere Elements 13 is more of a refinement than  a major overhaul of Adobe's consumer video editing program. Though there are a couple of cool new features worth noting:
    • New Guided Edits. Version 13 adds more tasks to its library of Guided Edits – step-by-step walkthroughs of its tools and effects.
    • The Shake Stabilizer. The Shake Stabilizer is a very nice update of the old Video Stabilizer effect.
    • Favorite Moments. A brand-new feature in version 13 is Favorite Moments, a tool for selecting the best moments from a video clip and compiling them into a smooth, new video sequence.
    • Video Story. Certainly the most exciting new feature in Premiere Elements 13, though, is Video Story, an advanced tool for assembling clips and building stories using templates and semi-automatic tools.
    • Burn your disc to ISOs and Folders. In version 13, your DVDs and BluRays can be burned directly to a disc or they can be archived as ISO image files for later burning to disc.
    • Organizer enhancements. The Elements Organizer has also been given a tune-up. The interface has been nicely decluttered, and there’s even tighter integration with Adobe’s Revel “cloud”.
But the most interesting addition is the new theme-based Slide Show Creator, a tool that, for the first time, is available on both the PC and Mac versions of the program.
    • Elements Live (eLive). Elements Live is a link directly from the programs to an exclusive web site full of exciting ideas, tutorials and other content especially for Elements users.
For screen shots and more details on these new features, as well as tutorials demonstrating how these new features work, see the links on the left side of this page.

    Over_Nyquest,
    Thanks for noticing!
Here are some of my personal favorites for some of the "what's new" in v13 - the entire new feature list and specific use cases on how to use these features will be rolled out over the next several weeks...
    1. Circuit Parameters - For modeling, you can set 'global' style variables and have component and model values be expressions that are dependent on these values.  There is a circuit parameters dialog for adjusting the values and they can be used in the SPICE analyses (such as parameter sweep).
    2. More components - Maxim has been added as a supported manufacturer (+1300 parts) and many updates to our other supported manufacturers (+1500 new parts/updates from various mfrs).   We've added several new power models for thermal analysis (also included are some new eGAN FETs from EPC - these are new, small, highly efficient FETs).
    3. Updated the Component Wizard - makes it easier to do the symbol pin mapping for models.
    4. The LabVIEW API is now part of the installer (so if you have LabVIEW, it will automatically install for use in automating your simulations).
    5. PCB templates for reusing designs.   Also new/better dialog for multisection parts in heirarchical designs (which helps to better ensure synchronized hierarchical schematics/layouts).
...various others...  you can open the Examples folder for some good examples some of the newest features...and you can look at the documentation for some additional details (All Programs -> National Instruments -> Circuit Design Suite 13.0 -> Documentation -> Circuit Design Suite 13.0 Readme).

So what should I do so I can use the program that I actually bought serval weeks ago?
But still cant use.... Anyone that know of this problem?

How long ago did you purchase Premiere Elements 12? If it is within the last 30 days, you might be eligible for a free move to version 13. You need to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat to discuss that as soon as possible if that is something of interest to you. There may be some debate about the way to make contact, but, if you purchased from Adobe direct as an online download, I would contact Adobe Chat by clicking on the following and following through with Chat Panel.

If you stay with 12, then there are several areas to pursue
    1. Can you open the program by going to the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file, right clicking it and selecting Run As Administrator, and then double clicking the .exe in an attempt to open the program direct to the editor?
    See

    Adobe Premiere Elements 12
and in the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Folder are the Adobe Premiere Elements 12.exe and Adobe Premiere Elements.exe. You want the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file.
    2. If you create a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and install and run Premiere Elements 12 from there, does the program open?
    3. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • Is there any "simple" documentation on the steps to download and install Photoshop and Premiere Elements V13?  The downloads seems to work but there's nothing clear on what do you do next.

I've been messing with computers since 1958 and I've never seen such a mess as trying to download and install the recently purchased copies of Photoshop and Premiere Elements Version 13.  Slow downloads?  Sure, but I can live with that.  But once downloaded, what next?  Look for a xxx.exe file somewhere in the pile?  Read the "ReadMe" file?  All I seem to get is unzipping some files with nothing leading me into the proper steps.  I can't even seem to get off the ground.  Everything I touch unzips and just lies there.  I hate to think I've gone dumb after all of these years, but "user friendly" this is not.  My "Your order confirmation" sheet gives me "Follow the instructions below to start using it today" and the first three steps work as you'd expect.  Step 4 states "After you have completed the download process, your serial number will be displayed in the download center."  Step 5 is "You can log back into 'Adobe Account Management' in the future to re-download your product or retrieve your serial number. ...."  I have no problem with my serial number but there seems to be a lot missing between Steps 4 and 5.  It would be nice to have this information as pretty standard "stuff.  Computers are supposed to do super stuff without a lot of time-consuming problems with a simple process like installing the software.  I'm feeling a bit hostile about this but it is a time-consuming, frustrating process.

Justin created a guide to using Favorites. It will help you a lot with what you seek. He has a link to it in this thread.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Can't finish installing Air Runtime Process, and Can't open New Project!

    Hey guys,
I'm having some major issues installing PE8.  I can open the installer screen fine, and it installs fine until it gets to installing the Air Runtime Process.  I have left it downloading that one process for about 5 hours, and i'm not exaggerating.  Finnally, I get too mad waiting for it to finish that I exit out of the installation process.  Even though the installation was never fully finished, for some reason I do have a Desktop icon for PE8.  I click on that and it opens the splash screen with the buttons "New project", "Open Project", and "Organize".  When I try to open "New Project" it begins loading the files that it needs to to open it.  When it gets to loading the Windows Media file, it freezes and then crashes.
I have uninstalled the PE8 and reinstalled it about 5 times now.  I have also used the Windows Cleanup program to clean these corrupted files out of my system before reinstalling.  I have called in twice now to the technical support and they haven't helped me one ounce.  Any answers would be appreciated!  Thanks
    Thanks Again,
    Spencer

  • In Premiere Elements 11 how do I delete projects & associated files & folders?

How do I delete projects & associated files & folders once I've finished with the project in Premiere Elements 11. There is information available for Premiere Elements 7 but not for 11

For PrE 7 (I think that it is still in print), Amazon has Steve's Muvipix Guide to Premiere Elements: http://astore.amazon.com/chuckengelsco-20/detail/0615248993/104-3709942-5611121
If you are planning on moving to PrE 11, he has written the definitive guide to that version: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1479311200/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_til?tag=chuckengelsco-20&camp=145 73&creative=327641&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=1479311200&adid=0N87W21KS3SSK1YA3MZW&&ref-ref URL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.muvipix.com%2FFORMgallery1.php
For one Project folder scheme, see this article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3998053#3998053 Note: this is how I set up my Projects, but can be used as a guide.
    Good luck,
