Premiere elements 2.0 how to convert mpeg to avi PLEASE HELP

Here is my problem, I am putting together a hi light video for my sons football seasons. Most of the seasons I have videotaped myself. When I capture the video in Elements it creates several avi files that I can pick and choose from, each file is created from when I pause during recording. I have one seasons worth of videos where I was not the one taping. I have dvd discs that the guy taping gave me. I can put the dvd file into elements and even put it in the time line but it shows up as one long clip....not segmented. It is also an mpeg file. I can use the razor tool to segment it in spots but have no way to convert the file within elements. When I save the project it still stays as one continuous mpeg file in my adobe folder regardless of whether or not I segment it with the razor tool. Oh, and if I haven't made it clear yet I am an Elements idiot. How can I get the files off the dvd to use in the manner in which I need to use them????? Do I have to use a seperate program to make them avi files?????

If you want to subdivide a file on the timeline in APE 2: (1) Move the Work Area markers on the timeline to include just the portion you wish to export as a separate file. (2) Go to File, Export, Movie (3) In the Settings Window of the Movie Export dialog select: Range, "Work Area Bar" (4) Save the file with the desired name. Repeat as desired to create separate segment video files for each segment you wish to work with separately. When you are all done creating the segment video files, start a new project and assemble the files as desired.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 running on? Can we assume that this audio plays back OK
on the same computer when you are using a computer player independent of Premiere Elements?
What are the properties of these clips that worked before but do not know with regard to sound
For now, I will assume that you are working on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Have you checked the Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO settings? Do you have any 3rd party audio devices incorporated in your computer environment?
Please delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if that does not work, then the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. The Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit path is

and, in the 12.0 Folder, is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure that you are working with Folder Option "Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives" active so that you can see the complete path cited.
Do you have installation files or installation disc with the purchased serial number in case we need to resort to uninstall/reinstall?

The Duration of Stills is set with Edit>Preferences to the number of Frames required, where ~ 30 Frames = 01 sec. of Duration.
Unfortunately, the Duration cannot be reset (Edit>Preferences) for material that has already been Imported. The procedure is to Delete those Imported Stills, and make the change, then re-Import them, and you will get the Duration that you have reset.
The only other option at this point is to manually Click-drag on the Head, or Tail of each Still in the Timeline, to adjust the Duration. I do this with the Info Panel open and visible to make it easier. Personally, unless I am well into the editing process, the Delete, change and re-Import option is my choice.

PS - the ability to alter the Duration en masse for Imported Stills in the Project Panel has just been added in PrPro CS5. I do not know if it has been added in PrE 9 though.

Sure.
You just need to program a Processor to turn off any video tracks, transcode to a WAV-acceptable audio encoding, and then use a DataSink to store the output of the processor as a WAV file.

Your photos remain in place, the catalog you have been using will remain. After you install Lightroom from the CC, all you have to do is open your existing catalog and continue right where you left off.

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the monitor. In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the monitor and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen. You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the monitor your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.

Accidental damage is not covered under Apple warranty. And it seems there is much accidental damage. Only a Genius Bar tech looking at it can tell how much it will cost to repair.
Cost to repair will be high, I suspect (though Genius Bar will confirm/deny.
There is no gentle way to say this sir/ma'am ... someone will need to pay for your friend's MBA repairs.

Open a new Finder window, Finder > File > New Finder Window, and it should appear on the left under Devices.
If you don't see it there, or to get it to show up on the Desktop: Finder > Preferences... General tab, check External disks to have it show on the Desktop, Or Sidebar tab, check External disks under DEVICES.

- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If necessary, you can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
