Premiere Elements 4.0 re-installation impossible after XP crash

After XP crash (windows directory only), re-installation of Windows XP I lost all registery and "Documents and Settings" info. I have to re-install evry program I have (had).
The most bizzare is reinstallation "Premire Elements 4.0" - all I am getting is a very funny message:
"The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 could be completely installed.
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."
No hint why I cannot install the program! I tried a few times - and I got the same message.
Please - could you suggest something more resonable? I cannot un-install - because there is no info to do it. Even if I removed the directory with the program, I could not re-install it.

Yea Windows can be tricky when it comes to reinstalls.  It gives you the option to install over itself but that is usually more of a stop gap measure.  I usually make sure I have a backup of my User folder and then format and reinstall.  It does take awhile to track down all the install files again but it will usually resolve whatever issue is causing me to take the drastic action of reinstalling Windows.
Sorry the Microsoft Fixit utility did not work for you.  We have a utility which helps with removal for later versions of this software but it would have no affect on Premiere Elements 4.0.

  • Premiere elements 13 restart during installation

I've been trying to install the Premiere Elements 13 trial.  I've tried 5 or 6 times, and each time the installer forces a restart while trying to install Microsoft Visual C++  2012 redistributable package.  After the restart the installation does not complete, there is no icon, and if I try to re-run the installer I get a "Installer Failed to Initialize" error message.
Premier Elements 13 does appear in the "Uninstall a Program" listing of the control panel.  But it requires that I install Application Manager to tell me it can not uninstall the program.  If I run Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner it does see Premier Elements 13, and I can clean Elements 13 successfullly, but all that enables me to do is re run the installer, which still restarts at the same point.
I've even tried running system restore to reset the system to before I tried to install the first time.  I'm spinning in circles here, and any help is appreciated.  As a long time Lightroom user I was hoping to try Elements 13 to see if I want to purchase.
Also note I'm running on a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (core i7) running Windows 8.1.  Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 8 won't do anything after opening - and after loading contents disk

Similar to an earlier thread, ie: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3058854#3058854 I couldn't get Premiere Elements to work - but this was back in July and I hadn't found the forums at that point, getting baffling lost trying to find anything at all useful on the Adobe website.
Premiere Elements 8 did originally display an error message if you tried to open a project, ie I managed to open an existing project or create a new one, but the program only ever showed a blank screen and no menu options could be selected so these projects were empty. This error message appeared if I tried to open a project I'd just created with premiere elements 8. It didn't even seem to like its own files.
It's a brand new pc, so it's never had any other versions of premiere on it. It came from Dell preloaded with premiere/photoshop elements but only the latter works.
Initially I spent hours trying to get this to work, searching for clues on the Adobe website, but then other pressing things have intervened and I gave up on it until today.
About the last thing I did was to download a trial version and install that and I entered my full version registration number when doing this. Still nada and I gave up.
Well today I had another go. If I opened my empty project from the organiser I got a blank screen, then I tried again from within Premiere. I also tried opening it as a new project giving it the same name as the original. Surprise, surprise, it worked and the monitor and timeline, etc, appeared. However it was temperamental and if I closed the program down I seemed to have to open it a few times in Premiere (not the organiser that never seemed to work) before the workspace appeared.
I should have thought myself lucky and left things like this. When the program started it reminded me that the stuff on the contents disk wasn't loaded. I decided to load it up too but in the process I got an error message. I think it said something about Framework 4 being loaded? by user system and that this needed to be changed. I let it go ahead and do this and left all the contents loading up. Takes a long time doesn't it? Needless to say this isn't the first time I've done this.
Well it was after this that I arrived back at the blank screen, nothing opening up at all just as it was when I started - a little loading project window appears, the blue progress line gets to 100%, but the application screen remains grey and none of the menu options can be selected. I tried loading the 8.01 patch but this made no difference.
Has anyone got any clues on this?
    It's a Dell Studio 15, i5, 4Gb RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate, 400 Gb free space.

There may be some clue in that while I was briefly able to use the application I added a few picture files and put them on the timeline.
Tidying up the pictures on the pc into one folder meant that one of these was no longer where Premiere Elements 8 expected it to be and on one of my trys at getting it to run again (with the same multiple attempts at opening a project as before) it did actually display a dialog asking for the missing file and then wonder of wonders the monitor window, timeline, etc, appeared as before.
This meant that the menus are accessible at present and so I've been able to check the background rendering preference and it is set to off.
Once I close the application down again I'm sure it's going to behave as before, ie blank screen again. True enough just tried this and it's back to blank screen mode. I didn't save the project so the files are still 'missing'.
BTW I've already turned off Autoanalyse in the Organiser.

  • Premiere elements 12 is cutting off images after finalizing project

I have recently finished a music video project and after finalizing the project and saving it down as a wmv. file, I have played back the video and parts have been cut off. I use a lot of green screen keying in my videos and at times the tops of peoples head will be cut off and images aren't aligned the way I had them within the editing program. This is only happening after I save & share the project, but yet everything looks fine in the editing window. No one's heads or limbs are cut off and the back ground images for the green screen effect look fine in the editing window, yet once the project is saved down the background images aren't stretched across the screen like they appeared in the editing program. I don't understand why this is happening and I'm seeking help before I resort to modifying any of my work again.
Case & point, why is what I see in the editing window different from what I see after the project is finalized? PLEASE HELP!!

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? For now I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit in case I need to mention specifics.
What you describe is probably a mismatch of project settings importing and exports. So let us start with details.
What have you or the project set automatically for the project preset? (See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if they appear to be grayed out.)
What are the properties of what you are putting on the project's Timeline? Do the properties of the source media match the details of the project preset that you are using.
Then the most likely cause of the problem...your export settings.
From what you wrote, you are probably using
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    Windows Media
Now the important part, what are you selecting for "Presets" and what are your settings under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
The answers will be in your details.
If you have questions about what is written or need clarification on it, please do not hesitate to ask. But, the answers are need for all of the above.
    Thank you.

  • Help with Adobe Premiere Elements 11 Editor - Won't work after Maverick upgrade

I bought Adobe Elements 11 in March of 2013.  It was working fine until upgrading to Maverick.  It will not open now.  Adobe will not help without a serial number.  Apple does not provide serial numbers when you buy directly from the App Store.  After 3 hours of trying to unintall and reinstall, no luck.  Apple said to call Adobe back, Adobe says to call Apple.  Finally just asked Apple to refund me the $85.00.  They said said they ‘can’t’ since I’ve ‘had it for so long’ (7 months ?? ).  They said the problem was my fault because I didn’t check and make sure Adobe Elements was compatible with Maverick before installing Maverick.  I should mention that it states (on the App Store page) that Adobe Elements 11 is "compatible with OS X 10.7.5 or later”.   Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if any kind of resolution was achieved?   Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Tony

  • Adobe Premiere Elements sn removed cannot be installed after System rebooted

Installation of Premiere Elements with legal serial number is denied. What can I do?@

PLEASE don't do that. When you posted your serial number here, you just gave it away to anyone on the internet who might want it. This is a user to user forum and you should not EVER post a serial number here. Everything you post here is visible to the entire internet.
Now, are you asking about Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements? You say Premiere Elements, but the serial number you posted was for Photoshop Elements. Which program are we talking about here?

  • Premiere Elements 13 on OS X Yosemite 10.10 Crashes After Launch

    Hello,
I'm running Premiere Elements 13, with all updates applied, on OS X 10.10 and each time it crashes within two to five minutes after launch. There does not appear to be a particular action that triggers the crash and does not happen at the same time. I have sent the crash reports in, assuming Adobe reads those.
I have verified my Mac meets the OS X system requirements and have also closed down every running program to free up as much system resources as possible. I am also using a trackpad. I have seen some forum discussions suggesting previous versions of PE crashed due to a trackpad being used. Is this still the case with PE 13?
Is there anything else I can try to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Matt

The recommended forum post didn't work out. What appears to have worked, at least to this point, is the following:
Boot into OS X Recovery (restart your Mac and hold down the Command and R keys at startup).
Open Disk Utility and select your primary volume.
Click Verify Disk and if prompted, click Repair Disk.
Click Verify Disk Permissions and if prompted, click Repair Disk Permissions.
    Exit and restart.
Premiere Elements 13 should function normally.
In my case I ran both Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions. It's been about 3-4 days after applying this and PE 13 no longer randomly crashes.

  • I am updating from photoshop elements/premiere elements 8 to 13 but my old computer crashed which was a windows base and I now have a mac. Will my new download of 13 support this change?

Previously I had a windows based laptop which crashed on me and I lost everything. I since have replaced it with a Macbook Pro. I had the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 8 program on the old computer. My upgrade to 13 will now be on my Mac, will this be an issue when I begin my download?

    Hi stickpin56,
If you have purchased a Mac version for Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements then it would certainly work for your new mac machine.

  • Installation issues after HDD crash

    Hi all!
I´ve posted a few problems the last few days now. last sunday my HDD crashed. after some mucking about I´ve finally got a new drive, and I´ve managed to install OS X again (from the v10.5.7 DVD that came with the MBP) and my leopard is running fine and I WAS very happy again.
    Then to my problem:
A couple of weeks ago (a.e. before the crash) I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion. And now, ofcourse, I want to reinstall it. But when I inserted the Snow Leopard upgrade DVD and started the install, the installer crashed telling me it couldent read. I ejected the DVD and found some scratches on the print-side (the "read-side" is fine) This means I cant get the Mac App Store, and with it the Lion upgrade..
    My question:
Is there any clever way I havent tought about to get the Snow Leopard upgrade, or maybe just go straight for the Lion?
also a question beside this problem:
can anyone recomend a data recovery app? pref. a free one..
    thanks up front!
    TMT
(PS. if any of you live in Oslo and want to borrow me an upgrade DVD I will be a man)

There is no real free data recovery application.  Though there are free data backup programs*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
As for upgrading directly to Lion, you can buy the USB Flash Drive version of Lion.  Unfortunately this does require erasing your hard drive yet again, and recovering the data from your backup if you make a clone backup.  See other pitfalls about upgrading to Lion before you venture down that road*:

  • How can I get past dialog box that wants my country/region?  Premiere Elements 13 will not open!!!

Cannot get past the country/region dialog box because the list will not allow me to select the United States as the place where I live.  The list is too long and no way to get to the bottom to select the United States!!!  I can't get into Premiere Element 13.

    TNDOGGER888
    Thank you for the reply.
    Let us start with
    1. Is the computer operating system Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit? If it is and you are installing Premiere Elements 13, then the program files will go by default to Local Disk C/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Elements 13 as the default location. If you have a computer that is using other than Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, then it will not. Another question is, when your drives were set up, was the SSD drive designated the C drive?
    2. From what you wrote, I understood that you were using your installation files or installation disc to install the program, but were getting stopped very early in the installation process because you could not set the country/language. Typically that setting is done while you are starting the installation. One of the early dialog boxes that you get in that process is named Choose Setup Language (or something like that). That is where I believed you could not set the country/language. Is that the place to which you were referring or some place else?
    3. You do not need to uninstall Premiere Elements 10 to install and run Premiere Elements 13. Just use one program at a time.
Typically 32 bit applications in a 64 bit computer operating system run in the 32 bit compatibility mode of the 64 bit system. And, these 32 bit applications program files will be in Program Files (x86) Folder. The 64 bit applications program files would be in Program Files. With regard to Premiere Elements 10, some of its files may be found in Program Files and Program Files (x86).
But, the main focus now is getting Premiere Elements 13 installed to the default location on the Local Disk C/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Elements 13 during the installation process after you designate the country/language and are given a country dependent NTSC or PAL system with which to work.
From a quick look at 13 installation on Windows 7 64 bit, the first installation dialog that mentions language with country implications is
This is for Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 or 8.1 64 bit. Since you say that the United States is further down the list in your case, I suspect this is not the place where you are having problems. Note the default location in this Options dialog. Did you leave that as is or change it to something else?
Are you having these issues when you get to the Sign In dialog or some place else?
Please consider and then let us decide what next.
Many thanks for the follow up. Appreciated.

  • Lost transitions after reinstalling Premiere Elements 12

I purchased Premiere Elements 12 back in December 2013 after trialling the software first. One thing I was particularly happy with was the number of transitions available which included a number of NewBlueFX transitions.
Just recently, due to issues with my PC I ended up having to reinstall Premiere Elements 12. No problem I thought, I still have the serial number, so off to the Adobe web site I went, downloaded the installation package, installed PE12 on my PC, entered my serial number and I'm back up and running. Awesome! So now that I've come to use my newly reinstalled PE12 I have discovered that the software is not quite the same, must be slightly updated version of PE12. To my horror one of the changes I've discovered is a greatly shrunk list of available transitions! And of course the NewBlueFX transitions which were the best of the lot are gone!
Now, this is not the software I trialled and subsequently bought, had I trialled this version I would have NEVER bought it. Problem is I cannot find any way to contact Adobe directly to raise this issue and have it rectified.
Does anyone on this forum know how I can go about getting this resolved?
    Thanks in advance.

    radar580
For now I will assume that you are running Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 64 bit computer. Have you updated 12 to the 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so.
Now for your immediate issue which I think should be resolved quickly.
You are apparently in the Quick workspace of the program, under the Transitions Tab. You need to be working in the Expert workspace. When you do you will find all your video and audio transitions.
For several types of items, the Quick workspace does not have all the items available that are found in the Expert workspace.
Please check it out and then let us know the results.
    Thanks.

  • Can I use adobe after effects with my project from premiere elements

Wondering if I can use adobe after effects with my premiere elements project

    drunner
What version of Adobe After Effects do you have?
Whatever the case, I have not found any Adobe After Effects documentation that include a Premiere Elements project.prel file as a supported import choice.
I suspect that you are going to have to export your Premiere Elements Timeline as a .mp4 file with a After Effects supported compression into After Effects.
But, I would ask in the Adobe After Effects Forum just to double check.
