Premiere Elements 4 auto analyze off

Help.  I tried to install Premiere Elements 9 on my old Vista machine and got the dreaded error 1935 CE3230AC-E72E-3EDF-8A57-87FCE1CF2629 HRESULT: 0x80071A30.  Searching for help, I came to the conclusion that it is a registry cash screwed up and reinstalling Vista is really the only way.  So I went back, reinstalled Premiere Elements 4 and came here for help with:  Auto Analyze, scene detect seems to be on and I can't turn it off??? Capturing video from DV leaves me with 100 files instead of the 1 I want.  Impossible to find help/support for PE4.  Anyone know now to turn this make many files on capture off????

Hello Steve
I have attached a couple screen shots.  Let me know if you have any trouble seeing, I can always post them to another location.
You say
You can launch the Elements Organizer from the Premiere Elements Welcome screen when you first start the program.
I have attached the welcome screen where I see no way to launch Ele organizer.  What am I missing?  The top menu items are all unaccessable.
You say
The option to break scenes by content is on the the Capture screen, which opens when you select the DV Capture option under the Get Media button under the Premiere Elements Edit tab.
I can find no such option except one grayed out under clip back at the project screen.  Again I have attached a couple screen shots to show you what I see.
There must be something obvious that I am missing or that is different about my APE4 instance.
Happy Sunday

In order to turn off the background Auto Analyzer, you need to be in the Elements Organizer program. Not Premiere Elements. You can launch the Elements Organizer from the Premiere Elements Welcome screen when you first start the program.
The option to break scenes by content is on the the Capture screen, which opens when you select the DV Capture option under the Get Media button under the Premiere Elements Edit tab. This will only affect how the program performs with freshly captured DV video, of course.

  • FYI when installing Premiere Elements - auto analyzer

Please ignore if this is old news...
Just noticed something.  I am running PSE8 and turned off the auto analyzer due to it slowing my system to a halt.  I recently installed Premiere Elements 8 and noticed my system ran extremely slow after that.  I opened up my task manager and found the analyzer running.  Looks like Premiere restarted the analyzer.

Interesting, and dangerous.  I recommend that everyone keep the Auto-Analyzer turned off.  Not only can the Auto-Analyzer hog your computer, it will corrupt your map locations, split your video clips into "scene groups" that are hard to get rid of, modify the date/time of every file, crash frequently, and litter your folders with temporary files:

  • Elements auto analyzer has malfunctioned and needs to close

Every day I get messages saying Elements auto analyzer has malfunctioned and needs to close. APE9 is not even open. Howw can I stop this?

When you go to the Organizer's Edit/Preferences/Auto Analyzer, is it set to run automatically? If so, does this problem persist if you turn it off?

  • Close elements auto analyzer

How do I close elements auto analyzer?  I am trying to download a new camera raw version - elements 11 - and it has 2 seconds left but will go no further as the elements auto analyzer will not close. I went to organizer - edit - preferences - media analyzer - un checked run at start up but nothing has changed. Help! I have been strugggling with importing raw files from my Panasoic FZ200 for weeks and was 2 seconds to fixing it!

Thank you! It wasn't as easy as how you presented it but with the help of a friend as well we started with what you suggested and eventually got there. It works! Now my Lightroom 4 won't import the raw from my  Lumix either but I don't think I can handle that today.

  • Elements auto analyzer - what the hell???

    Hi,
After i installed Premiere Elements (together with elements organizer) the CPU load is at 50-100% and my System disk is spammed with 30GB of data - and still not finished!!!
in the Task Manager i found a process called "Auto elements analyzer". What the hell is this there going on??? Adobe programms a process that
    - runs in the Background and is NOT stopped, when the Programs are closed!
    - produces tons of data
    - produces immense CPU load
    - has no Explanation for what it could or shoud do
i am really 1mm from deinstalling this crap!!!

You don't state your version of Elements, and that is important, since most of the tasks of the autoanalyzer have been removed from version 13.
The autoanalyzer was mainly used by Premiere Elements users, so I would also ask in the dedicated forum:

  • PSE 8 Organizer and Elements Auto Analyzer Super CPU Hog

    Hi,
I've been test driving Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 8 for a couple of weeks now and have run into a really annoying behavior from the Organizer components.
My main system...a Sony VAIO VGN SX670NC (Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 256GB smokin' fast Patriot Torqx Solid State Disk Drive) running 32 bit Windows 7 Ulitmate.
I have all the current hardware and operating system updates.  PSE8 and PEE8 are updated as well.
    I only have about 28,000 JPGs...47GB approximately...on this machine.
THE PROBLEM:  The organizer upon launch just sucks up every available CPU cycle...between the PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe and ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe processes.  Even if exited cleanly the last time Organizer was run, this happens.  I use the Windows 7 Resouce Monitor and notice that these processes seem to scan every JPG in the catalog every launch.
AS IF THIS ISN't ENOUGH...even with a clean exit of Organizer, the ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe process keeps on running and consuming most availible CPU cycles of both processor cores.  To get my machine back I have to remember to use Task Manager to kill the ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe process after I exit Organizer.
OH, AND REGARDING BATTERY IMPACT...needless to say this product behavior is a real battery killer...it keeps all CPU cores spinning so much it never gets to do proper power management and cuts battery life down by 2/3.
Why does this thing have to rescan every photo every time it runs and why does it fail to stop the Analyzer?
It makes me wonder if this product got tested before it shipped...it's such an obvious problem.
How do I tame this thing down to make it usable>
    Thanks,
    Dwight

    Hi 99jon,
    Thanks for the suggestion.
    QUESTIONS:
What functionality if any do I lose in Organizer if I do this?
Does this mean if I do this I simply need to make part of my photo import process the manual running of Analyzer against selected photos?
Does this impact sync with Photoshop.com?
    Thanks,
    Dwight

  • Premiere Elements auto removing black frames?

I edited a file in Premiere Elements, inserting 15 frames of black at stratgegic points, and exported as Quicktime. I then ran the resulting file through a professional transcoder to convert to an MPEG-2 transport stream. When played back on an MPEG player (i.e., VLC) the .5 sec of black is where it's supposed to be, but if I reimport it back into Premiere Elements the black frames are mostly removed (2 out of 15 remain at each point). Why does it do this and how to prevent it? (I imported the MPEG back into Premiere to verify that there was no drift in the timeline caused by the export and transcoding process, since the black frames need to be synchronized with an ad inserter, but Premiere is removing the black frames.)

Did you Import the MPEG-2 Video? If so, it's most likely a GOP thing, when PrE internally converts to I-frame for editing. For a bit more background on GOP, see this ARTICLE.
I hope that is all that is happening and good luck,

  • How do I turn off Elements Auto Analyzer in Elements 12?

This is really maddening!  I cannot update, nor can I delete a file because this program is holding everything hostage!
I read other information about finding it in the task manager........It is not there!
I do not find it anywhere.  Why should I have to reboot every time I finish a project just to close it?
I am really disappointed in Adobe for this.  Now I am sorry I bought this product.
    Anyone know the secret?

But at your request, you turn off the AutoAnalzyer in the Elements Organizer 12 by going to its Edit Menu/Preferences/MediaAnalysis and disabling all the AutoAnalzyer options under that category. Typically, I delete everything there.
After the disabling, close the program. Then reopen and...
Double check the Task Manager/Processes after you disable the AutoAnalzyer options to assure that this feature is not opening as a process in Task Manager/Processes/named ElementsAutoAnalzyer.exe.
Please let us know the outcome.

  • Video playback in premiere elements 13 is off - audio and video don't line up.

When I import video clips from other sources, such as my webcam, a downloaded youtube video, or video imported from my phone, the video lags behind the audio. More and more as the video plays on. My computer meets all the system requirements and I tried rendering the video. When I export the video to other formats, it still has a lag. Can anyone help me? I am currently using the trial version and I don't want to purchase the program unless this issue is resolved.

  • Auto Analyzer in Premier Elements 11

I've never before owned or used any video software.   I just purchased and installed Premier Elements 11.
I searched for "Updates", which the program found.  After starting to download, I received an error dialog to the effect of: -- cannot proceed; must first uninstall "Elements Auto Analyzer".
What the heck was that, I thought.  I had no idea, but I am familiar with the Windows boot procedure, so I went to "msconfig>Startup", and sure enough, I found "Elements Auto Analyzer".  I unchecked it, closed msconfig, and rebooted the computer.  Now that "Elements Auto Analyzer" was not running, the update to Premier Elements 11 downloaded and installed without a problem.
Ok, I am familiar with Windows’ "msconfig"; but what about others?  How do most people update Premier Elements 11?  So I rooted around as I was exploring this brand-new-to-me program.  I stumbled upon "Organizer>Media Analysis>Run Analyzer on System Startup", and its associated checkbox.
So I ask, what is this Media Analysis tool?  Should I leave the box checked, knowing that it then loads this Auto Analyzer tool upon every system startup?  Or should I uncheck the box so that the Auto Analyzer does not automatically load.
If helpful, know that I purchased Premier Elements 11 for the purpose of capturing, editing and burning DVDs from video on my old VHS tapes.
    Thank you for your assistance,
    Howard

As I use a similar program, Adobe Bridge (with Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), I am only speculating a bit here.
I would run Auto Analyzer one time (might take a bit, depending on the number of Images and Videos on one's system and the speed of the computer), to establish the Albums (or whatever they are called in Organizer), and then turn it OFF, so it does not fire up, whenever an Image, or Video is added to the system, then run it once more, manually, before using Organizer with PrE. I do not like having a lot of programs running in the background, especially if the are likely to pop up and begin cataloging, whenever I make a simple change, like Coping over some Video files from a flash card. I want complete control.
Now, Steve, who is the guru, on all things PrE, might have different advice, so go with his, over mine, any day.
    Happy editing,
    Hunt
