Premiere Elements 7: WMSDKACodec.vca and Crash

Premiere Elements 7
I've just finished to edit a 25 mins video and want to make a DVD (Standard Definition PAL Widescreen).
The program crashes immediately when (in the SHARE section) I click on the DVD/BlueRay button.
The crash refers to the program exe file and the WMSDKACodec.vca.
The same crash occurs when trying to make a MPEG file for computer use same settings: Standard Definition PAL Widescreen
Does anyone encountered the same problem?

OK. I solved the problem:
I just removed the WMSDKACodec.vca file from the Premiere Elements 7/MediaIO/Codecs folder (compressed in a zip file) and the crashes disappeared.
Now it works fine.
I made a test DVD and one MPG file from my project. They both look good and the sound is clear.

  • Premiere Elements 12.1 Update and Known Expert View Styles Issue

The other day Adobe released the Premiere Elements 12.1 Update and encourgaged its use by all. However, little was cited for what the 12.1 Update was supposed to be fixing in Premiere Elements 12, other than "stability and performance" matters.
This morning I was working with Styles in the Expert workspace of Premiere Elements 12.1 and did not run into any problem creating the titles with text and Styles.
Before the 12.1 Update, editing Styles ran into problems in the Expert workspace that forced the user to toggle between Expert and Quick to get the text Style re-editing done.
Please check this out and let us know if you found the same.
If possible, in this thread perhaps each might contribute positive differences, if any, found in updating Premiere Elements 12 to 12.1.
So far, looking good for text with Styles, opening and closing the Tilter in the Expert workspace as well as saving closing reopening the project to the Expert workspace and editing the text Styles.

    Not so.
You apparently have not opened the link to read it. If you had, you would have seen mention of Premiere Elements 12.1 as well.
So, just in case the Adobe link was not opening for you to read it in part or entirely, here is a copy/paste of the relevant information
    Photoshop Elements 12.1 update
The 12.1 update for Adobe Photoshop Elements includes the following enhancements and fixes:
    Revel workflow improvements:
Improved Raw/PSD file upload experience. In version 12.0, Elements creates a JPEG proxy image in the user's catalog for any Raw/PSD files uploaded to Revel. In 12.1, this JPEG proxy file is hidden from the user. Elements creates this proxy file silently on the disk and deletes the file once it is uploaded to Revel. As earlier, the uploaded proxy file is mapped with the Raw/PSD file in Elements. This enhancement ensures that you don't come across duplicate media in the Elements catalog.
Ability to hide a library in your Elements catalog. This functionality comes handy when you want to selectively hide/show media from a friend’s library or one of your own libraries.
In earlier versions of Elements, any file deleted from Revel was automatically deleted from the Elements catalog. You now have additional options to manage such deleted files. You can now opt to delete the media from Revel, but keep it intact in the Elements catalog. You can also choose to delete the media from the Elements catalog as well as the hard disk.
Fixes for some Revel integration issues in version 12.0. Improved performance and integration stability.
    Optimized Revel integration first-launch experience.
Addressed the delay observed in version 12.0 while downloading files to the Elements catalog.
Addressed an issue related to the pressure sensitivity sensor in N-Trig pens included with Sony laptop computers.
Addressed an issue that caused slideshow previews to appear blank in Photoshop Elements 11 and 12.
    Numerous performance and stability improvements.
    Adobe Premiere Elements
The 12.1 update for Adobe Premiere Elements includes the following enhancements and fixes:
Revel workflow improvements mentioned in the Photoshop Elements section above
Addressed an issue related to iPhone 5s slow-motion video upload to Revel
Addressed an issue that caused some music score to end abruptly

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12 will launch and then vanish

Okay so just bought Adobe Premiere Elements 12. Loaded it up and went to run it. First time I ran it I get the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Launch pad, you know where you select the Organizer or the video editor. I select video editor, it gives me a sub menu asking if I'm opening an existing Project or a new project. I select new project. the Video editor opens and I get a pop up windows stating "Please Log-in with an Admin account to access Adobe premiere Elements." I hit 'ok' and the video editor promptly vanishes leaving me at the launch pad which I close. I go to the short cut, right click on it and select "run as administrator." and I re-launch the program. Back to launch pad, select video editor, select new project. The video editor loads and appears to be working for about 3 seconds and then it vanishes. No error window, no crash report nothing. Just 'pop' it's gone.
Any idea what I can do about this? I'd really like to use the software I just bought.
    Compute specs:
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
    -updated system drives yesterday
    Prossessor: AMD Phenom 2 X6
    8Gb ram
NVidia GeForce GTX 460 4GB card
    -Drivers updated yesterday
Primary drive is a solid state 128gb
2 secondary SATA drives at 1TB each
Premiere Elements is loaded on the 1st of the 2 secondary drives.

    Please confirm...
    a. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges as well as the Run As Administrator from the right click of the program's desktop icon?
    - I am running it from an admin level account.
    b. Did you install the program to the default drive C location...you mention "Premiere Elements is loaded on the 1st of the 2 secondary drives", but is it the drive designated C?
    - No. all I have on my primary drive (C:\) is windows, drivers and scratch disk. All my programs outside of windows are loaded on the drive designated J:\
    c. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
    - I did not before, but I just updated it before responding here. No effect.
    d. Does your computer use just that NVIDIA video card/graphics care? Is there a second card displayed in Device Manager/Display Adapters?
    - the NVIDA GeForce GTX 460 is my only video adapter.
    e. Does the problem exist with and without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    - Yes. I shut off Kaspersky and tried running the program via the launch pad. no change.
You say that the crashes occur when you select Video and new project. What happens if you select Organizer instead? Still crash?
    - If I go into Organizer the system seems to run fine. I loaded Organizer about 20 minutes ago and it's still up and running just fine. But in that same time span I've tried to launch premier elements several times. It still crashes after a few seconds.
New data though. Can't tell if it's from Premier, or something else. a couple minutes after the latest attempt to run Premiere Elements I found a new window with the header "CAHeadless Debug Event". The Window reads:
    CAHeadless has encounter an error.
    [..\..\Src\Sequence\Sequence.cpp-2233]
and then I have a button that reads "Continue".

  • Problems exporting HD video from Premiere Elements 9 for Vimeo (program crashes or video is blurry)

I have a 10 minute wedding video I am trying to export from Adobe Premiere Elements 9 to upload to vimeo. I followed the directions from this video: Exporting for upload to Vimeo with Adobe Premiere Elements on Vimeo to figure how to accomplish this. The first time I followed the directions, the resulting video file was fuzzy and blurry, not at all like the HD video I could view in the program before export. Since then, I've tried exporting it multiple times with different settings, and each time the program crashes when the video is around 95% complete. How can I rectify this situation? This is a wedding video I made for a paying customer who would like their video on vimeo as soon as possible.

What are the properties of what you are putting on the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 Timeline? Are you working with a SD or HD file?
What have you set as the project preset when you started the projec?
    1. So, video compression, audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, file extension, pixel aspect ratio...as
much information as you can supply....sometimes the brand, model, settings of the camera recording the video will give us all the

  • Premiere Elements 8 keeps closing or crashing

    Hello,
I was really looking forward to the new Premiere Elements 8, downloaded the trial and....it keeps closing with no error when I am editing very simple videos.  The other thing it does is it will crash sometimes and come up with the Adobe Send Error dialog box.  I have checked other posts and looked at some things like making sure I have the latest Quicktime and I did download the latest Nvidia driver as well.  Thought that it fixed it but nope, had another unexplained crash/closing last night.  I am running Windows 7 RC but dont know if that is the problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Oh, and my system is a quadcore and 8 gb of ram, so it should have enough power.
    Doug

These are their forums and should have moderators monitoring these threads. They are the ones that should bring it up to their development team or someone that can look into it, or get someone from Adobe to come read this thread and give their input on it.
Here we agree, though not on the exact details. The MOD's on these fora are volunteers. They are mostly power users, who have businesses and lives far beyond the Adobe fora. They give freely of their time, both answering questions and helping to keep the fora running perfectly. None is an employee and none gets any compensation, other than added responsibility and a Moderator's Console to correct things on the fora.
Other than that point, we are in sync. Especially with a new release of PrE, I feel that there should be an Adobe presence here. Someone from development should be assigned to furnish info on working with the new program, sort out problems and offer suggestions on how to run it to the max. The PrPro forum is very fortunate in that an Adobe employee has showed up and is now a major contributor. I do not know if the forum is part of his "assignment," or if he has just decided to spend time on the forum, contributing. To date, he has furnished tons of great info on upcoming updates and even on CS5, which is still under development. I hope he gets some extra compensation for his efforts and also full support from Adobe.
The Photoshop has Chris Cox, one of the original developers of the program. I do not know if Chris is there out of love for the program, or as part of his work at Adobe. It's really moot, as his contributions are wonderful, whether he does it out of altruism, or because it's part of his job - the result is the same - a benefit for all forum subscribers.
One of the big pluses to having someone from the development team would be that we do not spend countless hours of trying to troubleshoot problems, when some simple tweak, fix or change would take care of it. As we are but lowly users, we have to rely on what we have experienced, read, or encountered elsewhere. None of us really knows what is "under the hood." Even Steve G., our MOD, is on the development team. Now, he probably does get his hands on the beta of every version, as soon as possible, but other than maybe some tips from Adobe, he doesn't have access to the code. His knowledge is built on his experience and a sharp mind to figure out how the thing works. Same for AT Romero. While he gets his copies, as do the rest, he has torn into PrE 8 with a critical and analytical eye and published his observations, built on years of experience with PrE and with NLE work in general. Both are invaluable assets, but with a simple Adobe presence, both could be greatly aided. Going back up to Chris Cox and the PS forum: I've been a power-user of PS from the instant that it hit the PC about 20 years ago. I've done most of what PS can do at one time or another. Still, there are times that I speculate on something in that program, only to have Chris come forward and correct me, explaining exactly what the code does and how it does it. I never fail to learn something new about a program that I have used extensively for about two decades - a little Adobe inside info goes a very long way.
I would also strongly urge Adobe to assign a rep. to this forum, especially now. I would hope that this person is on the development team and not from marketing or elsewhere. I would also hope that this person has actually used the new version in real-world situations, as there are often major differences between the lab and the Projects that people actually produce.
I realize that there is a major price-point difference between PrE and PS, PrPro, AfterEffects, etc., but the install-base, or potential install-base is much greater for PrE. For Adobe, the unit profit is potentially smaller, but the volume is much, much greater.
I support your contention that Adobe needs to be here. If they show up, I would strongly urge the forum to be respectful of their time, as they are probably doing this out of the goodness of their heart - though Adobe COULD add a little something to their paycheck. If someone does show up, I'd hope that the subscribers would ask only technical questions and keep any personal feelings about Adobe products to themselves. There should also be respect for the material that this representative could not share for various reasons.
Going back some years, we were blessed by the presence of an Adobe employee, Wil Renczes, in the PrPro forum. Some people spent a great deal of time yelling at Wil for things that Adobe had done, or not done. Hours of typing went into telling him how much better Avid, or FCP were, compared to Adobe. They demanded to know what the next version would hold. One day, Wil didn't come around anymore. The forum had lost a most valuable asset. My guess was that it just ceased to be fun for Wil anymore and he chucked the whole idea. I hope that the same does not happen with our Adobe representative, Dennis, this time around.
    Just some observations,
    Hunt

  • Premiere elements 12 organizer keep on crashing

Why does the elements 12 organizer keep on crashing during the import of mts files? Does anybody have the same problem?
Adobe does not really seem to be interested in helping, since they outsource everything to forums!!

From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
    And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Have you viewed the tutorial links at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 page?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?
What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
    ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
    nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

  • Premiere Elements 11 window resize causes crash

    Win 7/64 on i5 with 16GB

Either way Premiere Elements 11 crashes or messes up the screen when I resize the window.
Adobe is of course of no help; sending me to the forum to find an answer.
Anyone have same issue or found a fix ?
    Cheers,

Thanks for the reply and the information that your Intel Graphics was automatically completely disabled by installation of the AMD/ATI video card. With AMD/ATI out of the equation, rather than disable, have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Intel driver?
I am not sure how much ground you covered in your google searches, so please excuse if I hit some where you have been there and done that.
    1. Have you been to deleting the BadDrivers.txt file, a classic for display issues, used when updating the video card/graphics card driver does not seem to be the answer. On Windows 7 64 bit, the path is
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file that you delete. A new BadDrivers.txt file will be generated when the new project is opened, and hopefully the problem will be gone. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the path cited.
But, I have never seen such a "mess" since the case of a user with very distorted display which turned out to be caused by Windows 7 High Contrast Theme.
    2. Have you gone the route of the program Deactivation from with a project (Help Menu/Deactivate), uninstall via Control Panel, cclean run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts), and reinstall with anti-virus and firewalls disabled?
If you think that the answer may reside in the specific installation files that you have, you can download tryout files for 11 from the following site and then install your purchased serial number in it.
Photoshop Elements 11 Direct Download Links: Free Trials, Premiere | ProDesignTools
How did you install Premiere Elements 11 - from installation disc or from installation files from online download or was the program a pre-install?
    Please consider.
    Thanks.

  • How do I use Premiere Elements 9 to synch and mix 2 video feeds?

I am trying to put together a wrestling television show using Premiere Elements 9. We use 2 different cameras, a stationary hard camera and a moving ring camera. In the past I have used an Avio system where I manually synched the 2 feeds and then I was able to drag and drop the ring camera feed on to the stationary hard camera.  How do I do this function using this software? Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE does not have direct multi-cam functionality. PrPro does, allowing one to sync up to 4 cameras, and if you Nest Multi-camera Sequences, you can do more, though not quite so easily as with four.
With PrE, it's probably easiest to place your main camera Clip(s) on Video Track 1, and edit that as needed. Then, bring in the second camera's Clip(s) onto Video Track 2, and reduce the Fixed Effect>Opacity to ~ 40 - 50%, so that you can "see through" them. Then, adjust those, Trimming, as desired, leaving gaps between them. When done, change the Effect>Opacity back to 100%. Transitions can then be applied, if desired, to the Head & Tail of each of those Video Track 2 Clips.
So long as the footage from the two cameras is the same Frame Size, and also matches the Project's Preset Frame Size, nothing more needs to be done, as the footage on Video Track 2 will just visually replace any Frames on Video Track 1.
If you do much multi-cam work, PrPro might be a great investment, as it's Multi-Camera feature will make life so very, very easy.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - it seems that a few months ago, there was another multi-cam question here, and that Steve Grisetti had a slightly different workflow, than the one that I described. I will post a link to that thread, if I can find it.

  • Premiere Elements 8.0 project and clip previews blank!

I've recently purchased a copy of Premiere Elements 8.0, as I have a big film project that needed to be edited and can't afford Premiere!
Anyways, I started editing last night and unfortunately we had a power cut and my computer switched off. Before this I could preview clips (mpegs) to see which parts I'd like to add to my timeline and could preview the project (audio AND visual). But now when I've reopened the project the preview is blank (black) and plays audio, or sometimes it plays with a turquoise flashing background - again audio can be heard but I cannot view the video. Same with clips. Plays audio but I cannot see the video.
Any tips to fix this? It worked fine before, but now no preview!
    CHeers!

Uninstall PRE8 and then reinstall it.
You say 'recently purchased'  - it would be well worth your while to see if you are eligible for a 'complimentary upgrade' to PRE9 as the newer version is reputed to be far more stable than PRE8. If not eligible but you purchased within the last thirty days I suggest you go for the 30-day money back guarantee and get PRE9.

  • Latest Premiere Pro CC 2014 Freezing and crashing. Why?

While editing a project everything runs smooth for a while, but then PPCC will freeze, become sluggish and or will crash from time to time. I have a new MacPro (Late 2013) 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 64 GB ram, with duel AMD FirePro D700 graphics cards. I purchased my machine a few months ago. in Addition I'm editing off of a Thunderbolt 2 raid SSD drive. SO I don't know why my projects are freezing and crashing. This happens weather I'm editing DSLR 1080 footage Or RED 6K Footage. My system has more than enough power to handle my project, but premiere works for awhile then doesn't play nice. Why? PPCC 2014 by far has the best tools for editors in my opinion but if its not as stable a FCPX then why should we continue to use it. in addition, yes I have done a complete clean install so there should not be any conflicts.Running OS X 10.10.1

My Premiere Pro CC 2014 also freezes when I try to export. I do not get any error messages, it just freezes and I have to restart my computer. The only way I can render is to Queue to Media Encoder CC 2014.
I have tried posting my problem many times but this Community Forums will not accept my post and keeps telling me to 'try again later .m4'.

  • I have tried to download premiere elements 12 twice now and all i get is the "read me" part. I bought the package with  elements 12.

I bought premiere 12 in a package with elements 12 and can only download the "read me" and not the premiere programme itself...What is the problem...It said the download was successful but it bwas not. Elements 12 is OK and works fine but not Premiere 12.

Try downloading the offline installer(s) from http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
Make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page.

  • Premiere Elements 13 GPU support and 64-bit performace?

    Hi,
I use PRE PRE 11 that doesn't suport GPU hardware acceleration ( CUDA or OPEN GL) Is GPU-assisted rendering enable in new Premiere Element 13 or still not?
Additionally... I can't see a diference in operating, better performace or faster rendering proces on my machine with Windows 8/64  between PRE v.11 and v.13 although the second one is 64-bit native aplication. Why is that?

GPU-assisted rendering is not a feature of Premiere Elements 13.
Premiere Elements is a pretty efficient program that tends not to grab a lot of RAM, where you'd see your biggest performance boost in 64-bit. But the 64-bit architecture does give it room to grow.
Meantime, remember that performance is a combination of several factors, including, most importantly:
    * The speed of your processor
    * The format, resolution and codec of your source video
    * The length of your project and/or the individual clips that make up that project
    * Ho much RAM you have, particularly between 4 and 8 gigs
    * Your Premiere Elements project settings and how closely they match your source video
    * How many effects, titles and other non-rendered items you add to your movie

  • Premiere Pro CC error message and crash

    Hi All,
I am in the middle of a project and on a tight deadline. I have Premiere Pro CC and have tried the phone line for help. However, after 90 minutes on hold, I gave up and thought I'd try here.
    So I have a project that was loading fine yesterday. I shut PP down last night and all was good. Today I tried to open the project and it gave me an error message that read;
    [/morereel64/releases/2013.09/shared/adobe/MediaCore/MediaLayer/ImporterHost/Make/Mac/../. ./Src/Audio/AudioWaveform.cpp-173]
After that, I click "Continue" and it then tells me "Sorry, a serious error has occured..."
I have tried uninstalling All Adobe Apps, using Cloud Cleaner, deleting my preferences, creating a new project and importing the old one in, exporting an XML to reimport... Nothing is working. And now I'm panicking!
    Please can someone help? Please?
I'm kinda going out of my mind...
    Thanks

New projects don't seem to have this problem with 7.2, but I have a critically important older project that I can't seem to make work even after deleting Media files and letting them rebuild.  I also tried importing the old project into a new one. I sent it to speedgrade then saved it as the premiere project...  and as soon as I open the premiere project... there it is again.  It freezes... needs to be closed, and then the project is corrupted and unuseable.  I spent a few hours with an Adobe Tech controlling my computer... until we ended up with the Blue Screen of Death.  I really need some answers on this.. at LEAST how to salvage a good timeline from this project and make it work with SpeedGrade.  This is a feature length documentary that is very large.  The project is shot in 4K, but I'm editing with HD proxy footage for all except a couple of shots that I'm using the 4k Footage.  MOST of the footage on the timeline is MPEG2 from a Sony F55.  Some is from a Canon 1D.... and as I said.. a couple of shots are Sony XAVC 4K.  HELP!

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 4-lost transitions and titles

I have been editing a Adobe Pre 4-projects and saved it a couple of times during the last 14 days. Yesterday I moved the whole project file to another disk (external), unfortunately I did not copy and save; I moved it.
Now when I open the project from the external disk, all the transitions and titles are gone. Where have all the transitions and titles gone?

    Hi thanks for the response,
So I had adobe PrE 4.0 and downloaded the free trial version of adobe PrE 10 from the adobe site. I opened my PrE 4.0 project file in the trial version to see how it would look and it looked fine but for some reason PrE 10 is extremley slow on my computer and I have an ok computer, and I am not talking about the playback video was choppy, which it was, the editing process on the timeline was so slow and choppy that it was hard to edit properly. The did not move any files and PrE 10 didn't ask me any questions, I just go on it and opened the project file up from the PrE 4.0 file location. So I got rid of the trial version and went back to PrE 4.0 to get back to work on the same project and when I got there the transitions and titles would not work for that project file, however if I started a new file it would work fine (but I do not wish to start all over), when the video got to the titles in the playback video a red screen with the words media offline in several languages would come up and than go away once the title was supposed to be gone. I have the bad/messed up project file on my flashdrive now too. If we can't get this to fix on 4.0 than maybe you could tell me how to fix the PrE 10 because I got that too just in case, maybe you could tell me how to speed it up because it is unbelievably slow, and I have windows 7 64 bit operating system.
