Premiere Elements 9 - file too large
When loading high quality pics (5 meg and up) into Elements 9 I get an error message that the file(s) are too big. Only way around it so far that I have found is to resize my pics before incorporating into Elements 9.
Any other suggestions on how I can get around this. Any comments are welcomed.
Cheers !!!
I agree with Steve.
In PrE, the Scaling algorithms in PS, or PSE, are better, and yield higher quality. This ARTICLE goes into more detail. Note: when originally written, the vast majority of video was SD, at 720 x 480 (NTSC), or 720 x 576 (PAL), but further down the article, mention is made of HD Projects, which run up to 1920 x 1080. That article also goes into detail on doing the Scaling in PS/PSE with automation.
Also, processing overly-large still images is very, very resource intensive, and it only takes a few very large images, before the computer and PrE will choke. This is even true with PrPro CS 5 and 5.5, which now have better Scaling algorithms, but can still suffer with many very large images. It takes a serious NLE workstation, that is perfectly tuned to handle them. If one really needs all those extra pixels, then I strongly recommend that they use After Effects, instead of PrPro, or PrE.
Good luck,
Hunt

Premiere Elements: Video file too large
i have adobe premiere element 9. i have try 2 down load picture to my timeline but it keep saying "the file video dimension (width/height) to large. can anyone help me. ps. it will accept old picture but not one that i take with my new camera. Jpeg image size says (5184x3888)
Edited by: Kevin Monahan
Reason: More descriptive title needednikoatu
Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 restricts that user from importing a still image with greater than 1677216 total pixels.
I have explained the situation in full detail (post 6) in an older thread which dealt with the same issue in Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/624979
In latest versions of Premiere Elements, that block is removed. But, that does not mean because you can exceed 1677216 total pixels that you should. The classical not to exceed pixel dimensions recommendations that you see online include
for SD project, 1000 x 750 pixels
for HD project, 2200 x 1238 pixels
In later version of Premiere Elements and greater computer resources, these classical recommendations can be stretched to a certain degree.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks.

Premiere Elements 11 file sizes
Premiere Elements 11 file sizes?
I recorded small 170MB and larger 570MB videos with audio using HyperCam 3.
Both load and play back in Windows Media Player (ver 12.0.7601.18150) without a problem.
I can load and play back the small files in Premiere Elements 11 without a problem.
But, when I load the larger file into Premiere Elements 11, only the sound track loads and plays.
No video track and the preview screen is a solid black box on my monitor.
Is there a file size restriction in using Premiere Elements 11?Martyson 2010
By the time I downloaded and looked at your sample video, I see that you and nealeh have worked out a workaround, that is, converting your Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM).avi (1920 x 1080 @ 10 frames per second) to H.264.mp4 (1920 x 1080 @ 30 frames per second.
I was able to convert your sample video into H.264.mp4 (1920 x 1080 @ 30 frames per second using the free HandBrake program). All 11 minutes 52 seconds of the H.264.mp4 imported into Premiere Elements 11 without issue.
In the case of these converters, we are dealing with changes in at least video compression, file extension, and frame rate.
However
The tests brought up some interesting questions
1. When I ran your file through the gspot utility, the video codec was shown as Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM), but it listed Codec NOT installed.
2. In spite of the Codec NOT installed, I was able to play back your video in Windows Media Player and VLC Player.
3. Your Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM).avi imported with the complete duration of the file, but only audio, no video.
Further
4. When I ran my own Premiere Elements 11 created Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM).avi (30 frames per second, 11 min duration) through gspot, the video codec was shown as Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM), but it listed Codec NOT installed - same as yours.
5. Yet, my file imported into Premiere Elements 11 completely (video and audio).
6. I need to run a Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM).avi 10 frames per second, 11 min duration) to see if I get the same results as in 5.
When you record your video, do you have the option of changing the frame rate from 10 to 30 frames per second?
So, some of the questions that the remain for me
a. Why is my Premiere Elements 11 created Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM) appearing to be different from the Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM) that you use in your file?
b. Why is gspot telling me that the Microsoft Video 1 (CRAM) codec is not installed when I can use it in Premiere Elements 11 for the import and export of my own file?

Premiere Elements Project file wount open in Premiere Pro CS6
My friend Just bought Premiere elements 13 and created a Project. I cant open the Project in Premiere Pro CS6. Getting this error message:
"The Project appears to be damaged, it cannot be opened."
The Project workes fine in Premiere Elements 13
What can I do? What is wrong? If you have done this:
Import a Premiere Elements project (Windows only)
Select File > Open Project.
Browse to an Adobe Premiere Elements project file, with file extension PREL.
Click Open.
Premiere Pro converts the Premiere Elements project file to a Premiere Pro project file.
and it wont work Elements 13 is probably too new for CS6. -
Why is the image in my capture window of Premiere Pro 2 is too large.
The image in my capture window of Premiere Pro 2 is too large, however the capture is correct on the time line for editing.
Why is it too large? and how do I correct it?
Thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail and for answering my question.

Disk Utility: Creating a new blank image receiving "file too large" error.
Hello All!
I'm trying to create a 10GB non-encrypted, non-compressed RW blank image via the disk utility. The DU runs for a few minutes then barfs out "file too large" error. I have over 30GB free on my HDD. I tried with a smaller size of 6GB to no avail. Also tried unsuccessfully to create from a file (about 4 GB). My ultimate goal is to create a case-insensitive image to run an extremely important program needed for high priority work productivity (i.e. WoW). Thanks in advance for any advice! You will be my new best friend if you help me resolve this. =D

File too large error unpacking War during app deploy - RHEL &WLS 10.3.5
I'm stumped and I'm hoping someone can help out here. Does anyone have any insights into the cause of my problem below, or tips on how to diagnose the cause?
scenario
We ran into an open files limit issue on our RH Linux servers, and had the SA boost the our open files limit fro 1024 to 3096. This seems to have solved the open files limit issue, once we restarted the node managers and the managed servers (our WLS startup script sets the soft limit to the hard limit).
But now we've got a new issue, right after this change. The admin server is now no longer able to deploy and war/ear, as when I click on "Activate" after the install I get
Message icon - Error An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
Message icon - Error Failed to load webapp: 'TemplateManagerAdmin-1.0-SNAPSHOT.war'
Message icon - Error File too large
on the console, and see the stack trace below in the Admin server log (nothing in the managed server logs) - indicating it's getting the error in exploding the war.
I've tried both default deployment mode, and the mode "will make the deployment available in the following location" where the war is manually copied to the same location on each box, available to each server - all with the same result. I've also tried restarting the admin server, but no luck.
The files are not overly large (<=34 MByte) and we had no trouble with them before today. I'm able to log in as the WebLogic user and copye files, etc. with no problem.
There is no disk space issue - plenty of space left on all of our filesystems. There is, as far as I can tell, no OS or user file size limit issue:

at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppModule.prepare(WebAppModule.java:382)In the end, the problem was not in the Admin server where the log entry is, but in one of the managed servers where there was no such log entry.
Somehow, and we have no idea how, the NodeManager process had the soft limit for max file size set to 2k blocks. Thus, the managed server inherited that. We restarted the Node Manager, then the managed server, and the problem went away.
The diagnostic that turned the trick:
cat /proc/<pid>/limits
for the managed server showed the bad limit setting, then diagnosis proceeded from there. The admin server, of course, had "unlimited" since it was not the source of the problem. -

File too large - attachment settings not working
Hi there
We are having problems with attaching files in IMS 5.2 & wondered if anybody can help.
Our outgoing mail message max size is set to 50MB (I know about the extra 33% space required for encoding) and yet we still cannot attach files to emails that are greater than 5MB.
Does anyone have any idea why this is not working?
Anytime we try to send a 7 or 8 MB file an error "File too large "comes up right away
The settings in the messaging server console is set to 50MB. This is under the HTTP service
There was a previous post but the solution did not solve my problem.
Can anyone help?
ThanksThere are separate settings for webmail attaqchments. Please check documentation at:
http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6020-10/cfgutil.htm
and look at:
service.http.maxmessagesize
and
service.http.maxpostsize
these both default to 5 megs.
You have to restart the webmail daemon to make a change take effect. -
TFTP file too large for upload
I'm trying to upgrade my router via TFTP. I keep getting this File too large for TFTP error. I'm using the recommended TFTP server from Solarwinds.
There does not seem to be any setting in the server to let large file pass, It's the first time I see that, but this is the biggest IOS I had to upload. I had no problem sending the last IOS witch is only about 3MB smaller.correct. copy ftp://userid:password@servername/directory/filename flash:

Any pointers on resolving the issue?
Regards,
Sunny
Edited by: ajmerasunny on Nov 9, 2012 10:23 AMHi Sunny,
The issue is because in your OS AIX,You dont have the support for largefile .
How do you enable largefile support in AIX?
On file /etc/security/limits , change the value of "fsize" to -1 . "-1" denotes unlimited. Log-off and login , stop & start applications to make largefiles work.

The error appears to be stating the physical file is too big to be deployed
I'm running the managed servers with a heap size of 3GB and the managed server is running with 2GB - I know these are large but they where being used for debugging
I can't find any documentation on the file size too large error, or how to resolve it
DeploymentService:290065 says to look in the log (details are above) and DeploymentService:290066 says the error will be explained in it's description, which it is, "file size too big", it doesn't say where to see/set the max file size, there is plenty of disk space so I can only assume it's setting for the deployment service that needs to be increase, but I cannot find info on this.I don't think this would help, but would using the nostage option for deployment change this behaviour.
I don't think it would as this is for disk based problems rather than transfer size issues. -

what am I missing.
Users quota is unlimited.

It says file too large. There are two limits that control the size of emails composed in the various webmail interfaces (Messenger Express/UWC/Convergence):
bash-3.00# ./configutil -H -o service.http.maxpostsize
Configuration option: service.http.maxpostsize
Description: Maximum HTTP post content length. If not specified, uses max(5*1024*1024, service.http.maxmessagesize).
Syntax: uint
service.http.maxpostsize is currently unset
bash-3.00# ./configutil -H -o service.http.maxmessagesize
Configuration option: service.http.maxmessagesize
Description: Maximum message size client is allowed to send.
Syntax: uint
Default: 5242880
service.http.maxmessagesize is currently unset
So the service.http.maxpostsize is the maximum size of any given attachment upload the service.http.maxmessagesize is the maximum overall size of the email => both are set to 5MB by default.
After changing the configutil settings you need to restart the mshttpd process for the change to take effect (./stop-msg http;./start-msg http).

Hi,
I have a 6280 model and I try to send an e-mail message with an attachement larger then 100k. I receive a "file too large" message. I'm using an POP3 mail account. Memory status show 2,1 Mb free on the phone memory. When I try with an attachement smaller then 100 k it works. Nokia service in my cowntry tell me this is a phone manufacturer limit (100k) but i think this is stupid. Can I do something ?i know that thing, that's just the bad bits about the phone it cant send larger than 100k, i dont think you could do anything about it.
