Premiere Elements 9 loses activation

I have a lab that is running Adobe Premiere Elements 9 with DeepFreeze (always restores to last saved state on reboot). I've been getting told that every so often someone will open a video project and the program will ask for the serial number or to continue trial, but as soon as I restart the computer it is back to being properly activated.
The kids using the software are basic users, so they can't be deactivating the product in the Help menu as it's greyed out.
Has anyone had an issue with Premiere Elements reasking for a serial number after product activation?

With licensing on a network, you will be best served contacting Adobe Customer Support, as they should be able to help you.
My guess is that DeepFreeze is playing some role in this, but as I do not know the program, that's just speculation on my part.

    We need to install this software to multiple computer labs in a school.
    Problem: When one tries to export (share) his project and save it with MPEG-format (PC:MPEG),
    The software gives a popup about visiting the Adobe site and activating the component. This cannot
    be done without administrative rights (UAC pop up on a Windows 7 x64 system). The people using
    the computer lab will not have administrative rights.
    How can we activate the MPEG component beforehand on all the labs computers without user interaction?
    Do we need to insert registry values? Does the process download something from the internet? Install?

    robert: it is a UAC prompt from Windows (7, 64).

    robert: standard user can not activate it.  It must be done with Admin account.  Since I will use these computers in a lab environment, I do not want to give them admin accounts.
    Siddharth: Robert, I am sorry to inform you that the UAC error is related to the system security.
    robert: yes, of course.
    robert: which is prompted by activating the MPEG component from your software.
    robert: is it not possible to run this software as a standard user?  Must the users have an admin account?
    robert: to activate the MPEG component?
    Siddharth: You can use the software but you will not be able to use certain functions in the software.
    Siddharth: it is advisable to use the software in the Admin accounts.
    robert: Is there a way for me to install this software such that this comonent is activated and does not prompt the user? 
    Siddharth: I am sorry, but that is not possible.
    robert: I'm sure this software is often used in a lab that would not grant the users an admin account.
    robert: is it correct that the MPEG activation happens everytime.  Shouldn't it be a one-time operation?
    Siddharth: Robert, there are known permissions with the standard user accounts.
    robert: what does that mean?
    Siddharth: This is not just related to Premiere Elements.
    robert: so how do standard users use this program?  Are you saying it is impossible for standard users to export as MPEG?  I can't believe this is true.
    Siddharth: Adobe does not recommend standard user accounts.
    robert: There must be a way to activate the MPEG component for the standard users accounts so they are not prompted again and again for this.  It doesn't make any sense. 
    Siddharth: I would suggest you use the software in Admin account.
    robert: this is very dissapointing.  and I know there must be a way to accomplish this.

  • Unable to install premiere element with student activation code?

    I bought my student premiere element and photoshop combo pkg in October 2014. When I got home I could not install the program permanently without waiting for Adobe to accept my student ID and provide a serial number to install both. I received it but did not use my paid copy right away. Instead I used the schools. Now I am trying to install it (again, first one I deleted today) but no matter what I do it will  not accept my 16 digit serial number. I have been working on this since 8 pm last night. Adobe would not answer on line. Today I went back to Best Buy they couldn't help me, but tried their best. The Geek Squad guy said I should contact Adobe. I have been waiting on hold for 30 minutes. I NEED TO GET THIS DOWNLOADED FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT. Any advice?

    If you have not redeemed your redemption code then please see Redemption Code Help for information on how to redeem the redemption code.  The serial number will be registered to your account as part of the redemption process.

  • Premiere Elements 9 Lose Motion Effects after Share

    Hi all,
    I seem to be having a serious issue after sharing/exporting my video:
    I have recently finished a 20-minute informational video for work that involves lots of screen capture of my desktop. The screen capture was done with VLC media player. Once I imported the screen capture (.mp4) videos in adobe premiere, I used the motion effect to only display the part of the screen that I want to by changing the scale and position fields for the entire duration of these screen capture videos. Watching the video in premiere after rendering shows everything is fine. But once I export the video, all these motion effects are clearly not present: the screen capture parts of my video are not scaled at all and instead show the entire desktop.
    What is the issue here?
    Have I misunderstood what the motion effect is meant to be used for? I am really looking for something to trim/zoom into parts of a video and it sounded like the motion effect was the solution, but I am not entirely sure.

    Please excuse the question, but am asking just in case.
    When you say that you are using Motion Effects (Scale and Position) for your .mp4 video on the Timeline, does that mean that you are keyframing the Scale and Position properties in the Properties Palette/Motion Panel/Scale and Position properties (using the Toggle Animation button there to initiate the keyframing)?

  • Is it possible to uninstall Adobe Premiere Elements 13 from one computer and put it on another PC, using the same serial number?

    I had installed Adobe Premiere Elements 13 on my laptop, which is slow. Is it possible to completely remove the program from my laptop, and reinstall it on another PC, using the SAME installation disc?

    If all you have is the Premiere Elements 13 purchased activated serial number on one Windows computer, you can go ahead and do nothing else but install the program from the disc on the second Windows computer with the same purchased serial number.
    That will leave you with the purchased activated serial number on two of your computers.
    Adobe allows you the same purchased activated serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. So, nothing to do but to use one at a time.
    Lots of scenarios beyond.
    1. Deactivate Premiere Elements 13 from computer 1. Do not bother to uninstall. Deactivation is not the same as uninstall.
    To deactivate, in an opened Premiere Elements 13 project, go to Help Menu/Sign Out. Close out of there.
    Then do nothing, leave the program in the deactivated/installed state.
    2. Deactivate and Uninstall Premiere Elements 13 from computer 1.

    Been working on PE11 for a while, just got a new laptop.
    Wondering if I need to uninstall and/or desactivate the programme on my old laptop before installing on the new one.
    I also already have it running on my desktop.

    Just wanted to elaborate on the distinction between "Deactivate" and "Uninstall" in your situation.
    You have 2 computers with Premiere Elements 11 now activated installed, a desktop and older laptop.
    In order for you to install and activate this same Premiere Elements 11 purchased serial number on a third
    computer (new laptop) you need to:
    a. Go to your desktop OR older laptop computer and the Premiere Elements 11 program Help Menu/Deactivate
    to select and deactivate the program. You do not have to uninstall the program unless you want to. Deactivate
    and uninstall are not the same thing.
    b. Then install and activate this same Premiere Elements 11 purchased serial number on the new laptop.
    c. If you ever need to open a deactivated Premiere Elements 11, then open it and apply the purchased serial number which
    will take if you have the serial number activated on no more than 2 of your computers.
    From what I understand of the Adobe Licensing agreement, in your case, you are not allowed to use Premiere Elements 11 on the desktop and
    new computer (your two activated installs) at the same time.

    It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12- Activating on two computers?

    Hello, I have a personal laptop not used for work that runs windows 7. At work, I work on a Windows 8 tower. I am trying to figure out if there is going to be any issues if I purchase Adobe Premiere Elements 12 and install it on both machines. Somewhere it said that you can't run them at the same time?     If you own, or are the primary user of, a single-user or volume license Adobe product that is installed on a computer at work, you can also install and use the software on one secondary computer of the same platform at home or on a portable computer. However, you may not run the software simultaneously on both the primary and secondary computers.
    No more than one user can use a single-user license Adobe product.
    Note: AVL customers have to buy two different licenses to use both operating systems, even if they have two different computers. They can only use the same license on another computer (not simultaneously) with the same platform at home.

  • CS6 and Premiere Elements keeps asking for activation

    Hi
    I am a system engineer in a school. We have a K12 Site license for CS6 and we purchased about 30 single license versions of Premier Elements through certified resellers. I deployed CS6 a few years ago on our old PC's by installing the software on one computer and then cloning the pc 30 times with CloneZilla. That worked fine.
    A year later i repeated the procedure on 25 other computers. No problem there.
    Last summer i did the same to replace the 30 pc's i had cloned the first time. Since then i have to activate CS6 over and over again indicating a trial version. Also the other classroom with 25 pc' began to ask for activation after 2 years with no worries.
    In oktober i Installed Premiere Elements on each individual computer one by one. And that went well for a few months but then all of a sudden PE began to prompt for activation. My collegues drive me crazy with their remarks and worries.
    So far i tried to activate CS6 by creating a serialization file with the adobe application manager. When i run the file and retry the program i am no longer prompted for an activation... for a while.
    There is no way to tell which device will prompt of when. It is random. Sometimes it is just one device, then all of a sudden it are 3-4.

    Adobe Premiere elements 12 (individual license) requires sign in /activation if you have installed individually however you can suppress the sign window using Adobe provisioning toolkit

    Were you given instructions from the seller with regard to getting a serial number when you start with a redemption code?

    J'ai tout essayé !!!
    J'ai acheté la version boite de Premiere Element 12 pour Windows (v7) : impossible de l'activer !
    J'ai installé la dernière version de Adobe application manager : rien à faire.
    J'ai désinstallé réinstallé le logiciel : rien à faire
    J'ai coupé le pare feu et l'antivirus : rien à faire
    dans 4 jours, mon produit qui ne se lance plus expirera !
    C'est une honte ! la 1ère fois que ça m'arrive avec un logiciel.
    Je n'achèterai plus jamais de produits Adobe !
    En attendant, donnez moi une solution à ce qui ressemble à une véritable escroquerie !
    Adobe n'a pas le droit de m'empêcher d'utiliser un logiciel que j'ai acquis en bonne et due forme. Normalement, ça s'appelle du vol.

  • Invalid activation code for Premiere Elements 12

    I have an unused version of Premiere Elements 12, downloaded the installer and entered activation code. Adobe says the code is invalid. I have double checked the code and it matches the code on the packaging. Any ideas? I was able to download LR5 using the same method without any issues(They came in the same case).

    I think I've managed to activate my Premiere elements 13, reinstalling it after modifying hosts files.
    I don't try to use my project files from earliier version, it seems impossible (missing media).
    But I can work, and it's fine.

    Thank you for the follow up with the good news of your progress with Premiere Elements 13/13.1.
    The File Menu/Export/Movie disappeared from Premiere Elements choice of export after Premiere Elements 7.
    But even version 4 had Share/ export opportunities besides the File Menu/Export Movie. As you have found out, the Publish+Share section in Premiere Elements 13/13.1 is the counterpart of Premiere Elements 4's Share.
    There is no guarantee that a project file created in an earlier version can be opened in a later one. But, it can be possible. But, if you try, please work with a copy of the earlier project when you try to do this. And, it is critical that you have the source media for the earlier project in a place the project can trace back to. Missing media can impact whether or not a project will open in the version where it was created or other.

  • I have to enter the serial number every month to keep Premiere Elements activated.

    I purchased Photoshop and Premiere Elements for a friend and installed on there computer. Every month it asks me to activate which I do by entering the serial numbers.

    What versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are involved and on what computer operating system?
    Do you use both program daily or frequently and is it only Premiere Elements that is requesting the monthly reactivation, never Photoshop Elements? Have you ever run into problems doing this re-activation when it is requested?
    What antivirus program do you have and how often it is updated? What on your computer has automatic updating? How old is your computer hard drive and your computer in general?
    Let us start here. Some of these issues defy the why especially when they do work on demand.
