Anyone know what the updates were to Premiere Elements 9 in the upgrade sent down through AIR today?

    I purchased PE9 a month ago.
    The computer I use for PE0 is not connected to the internet. I use an old computer for the internet as a protection against viruses and I dont like the way virus checkers slow down computers.
    So how can I check for and download any updates of service packs as they become available from Adobe?
    I would want to download them as files on my internet computer and transfer them with a memory stick.
    I was a bit annoyed when PE9 insisted I connect to the internet to download and register a plug in for one of the effects to work.

    He can't check for updates from PE... he must download manually and copy over, I presume via USB drive

  • Help for Newbie -- Premiere Elements 10

    I'm completely new to video editing.  I know this is supposed to be the easiest software, but I'm getting nowhere.  Part of the problem is that the software doesn't seem to come with a manual -- in paper or pdf.  The help button ships me out to various tutorials, etc., but they're all for version 11.  I tried following the basic tutorial for organizing videos, and the buttons they wanted me to click just didn't exist. (such as for creating an "album."     Maybe it's because of the different version or maybe it's because I'm supposed to already know how to set up the software so that I see the same things they're showing me in the tutorials. 
    Is there any book that truly takes you through everything from othe very beginning?   Better yet, is there any service that would actually let me talk things out with an expert and perhaps let me log onto my computer so he can see what's on my screen and explain why it doesn't look like what's in the tutorial?

  • Premiere Elements 8 update 8.0.1 won't install

    I can't get Premiere Elements 8 update 8.0.1 to install.  It claims I need to close "elements 8.exe.". first, but as far as I can see, it isn't open.
    ALSO I can't get the Adobe techs to answer the phones even though I must have let it ring 50 times on two occassions this afternoon.

    I had just gotten the Premiere Elements 8 last week from the Adobe website and had been able to download it and install it successfully....then, when I saw that a critical update was available, I downloaded it, too, but it wouldn't install, and you know the rest.
    It's possible that after the initial download of the program, I hadn't properly cleared everything. But, we'll see now how the program works for me.

    Sometimes the Adobe servers used for the updates can get busy and it’s necessary to try a couple of times. Also make sure you don’t have a firewall which may be blocking the connection. It sometimes helps to temporarily disable internet security/anti-virus software. Because the Organizer is shared by both programs it often helps to do the PSE update first, followed by the PRE update in that order.
    Select the 12.1 update for PSE from the updater dialog and ensure everything else is unchecked.  Quit PSE and PRE if you have it running and then start the update.
    If PSE updates properly to 12.1 repeat the process for PRE.

    on the same computer when you are using a computer player independent of Premiere Elements?
    What are the properties of these clips that worked before but do not know with regard to sound
    For now, I will assume that you are working on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
    Have you checked the Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO settings? Do you have any 3rd party audio devices incorporated in your computer environment?
    Please delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if that does not work, then the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. The Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit path is

    and, in the 12.0 Folder, is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure that you are working with Folder Option "Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives" active so that you can see the complete path cited.
    Do you have installation files or installation disc with the purchased serial number in case we need to resort to uninstall/reinstall?

  • How do I update Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Adobe Premiere Elements 9 on a new computer?

    I have previously used both Adobe Photoshop elements 9 and Adobe Premiere elements 9 on my old computer with Windows XP operating system without problems. Now I have a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit operating system.  I have installed both programs but when I try to update them I get a message saying "The update server is not responding.  The server might be offline temporarily or the internet or firewall setting may be incorrect.  Please try again later." I have tried numerous times with the same result.  I have tried uninstalling both programs and re-installing but still get the same message.  What do I have to do to be able to update these programs so I can get on and use them? The information with the programs says they both work on both Windows XP and 7.

  • Problems with Premiere Elements 8 after updating to Nvidia driver 195.81 or later?

    Hello PRE8 users,
    If you have an Nvidia-based graphics chipset, and you've updated to Nvidia driver version 195.81 or later and you're still experiencing frequent crashes and freezes in Premiere Elements 8, then we'd like to hear from you in this thread. As mentioned in the announcement at the top of this forum, we believe most of these issues are caused by a problem with an Nvidia driver that was released after PRE8 was developed, and that the issues should be resolved by updating to Nvidia driver version 195.81 or later. Notes from the announcement I mentioned above are copied below for your reference.

    For Nvidia users, there is a driver update that will fix both of the following issues:
    Premiere Elements 8 does not restart after closing on Windows
    Frequent and inexplicable crashes with Premiere Elements 8
    To resolve these issues, you should update your GPU (graphics card) driver to version 195.81 or higher, by following the steps below.
    1.      Identify which GPU driver you have by right clicking on the Desktop > Properties > Settings and in the Display field it will be displayed.
    2.      Go to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and download driver for your GPU card. Its size varies from 80 to 120MB depending upon the GPU card model.
    3.      After the download is complete, run the driver install Installation. This should take less than 2 minutes.
    There are no known issues that the latest driver update will cause.

    Up here I copied and posted my PC's spec's.  Since upgrading to the new driver, my problems increased.  I seem to experience more crashes than before.  Happens randomly and I can not see a pattern.   (I have noticed dragging clips from one area to another on the time line is no-no)

  • After re-installation of my Premiere Elements 9.0 i have problems with the updates

    I re-installed Elements 9.0 on Windows 8.1 64Bit desktop.
    It all went fine.
    After a while the updater service indicates i have to install following updates :
    Photoshop Camera Raw 6.5 Update
    Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Update
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update
    The updater starts downloading the updates, and when he wants to install them I get for all 3 the following message :
    "Er is een fout opgetreden tijdens het downloaden van deze update. Sluit de download af en probeer het later opnieuw."
    or translated
    "An error occured while downloading the update.   Close the download and try later agian".
    Can somebody give me some advice ?

    There is no need to give up your Premiere Elements 9 because of the downloading situation which you have described. That is, unless you need video editing features that are not offered in your version. Let me give you the how to details....
    1. With Premiere Elements 9 closed, download and install the 9.0.1 Update from the following link

    2. With Photoshop Elements 9 closed, download and install the 9.0.3 Update from the following link

    On this one, I would suggest that you DO NOT download and install. Since its release, Barbara Brundage (expert) has
    recommended no using this update.

  • Cannot Install the Raw 7.3 update for Premiere Elements 11 and photoshop Elements

    I get an error message when I try to update the  Raw 7.3 update for Premiere Elements 11 and photoshop Elements. It says to run support adviser which I did, but it says that it could not detect any problems.
