Premiere Elements Install Issue

From the Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9 package have successfully installed photoshop but Premiere is proving difficult.
It skips the 'serial number' step and goes straight to 'options' and then cancels the install. When I click 'help' it diverts me to a help page about installing a serial number (which I have) but doesn't allow me to enter it.
Tips please!
Thanks

Install in trial mode, then use Help --> Activate.

Premiere Elements 13 issue with the mouse on MAC OSX Yosemite 10.10.1
When I select a clip of video and move to a different place in my time line, Premiere Elements 13, will not release the clip from the mouse.
The clip follows my mouse movements and goes to other places in my time line.
I try to delete these extra insertions, but the mouse will not release the clip.
Action I’ve taken: I’ve re-installed Premiere Elements 13. Problem remains.
This issue has consumed too much of my time and does not go away.  It ruins my video.
    Help please.
    Thanks

I tried using the Guest Account on my Mac. In the Guest Account, Illustrator works perfect!
Then I started wondering what processes (tools/tweaks) I run by default on my account. Turned out the problem was called by a little background tool called RightZoom. RightZoom let's the green 'zoom' button always maximize your current window.
    So thanks! Problem solved!

  • LEAD Codec for MotionJPEG-Premiere Elements Playback Issues

There are several reports online (here and elsewhere) recommending installing LEAD Codec for MotionJPEG-Premiere Elements Playback Issues. Most, if not all, of the feedback is that it works and is only $10 USA dollars.
Today I went in search of that codec at LEAD Technologies and could not find a $10 LEAD Codec.
    http://www.leadtools.com/SDK/Multimedia/Multimedia-MCMP-MJPEG-codec.htm
Instead, I found a bunch of kits priced at way over $100.00.
From the chat service at that web site, I discovered that the LEAD codec is no longer sold separately. In order to get that codec, you would have to buy the Multimedia SDF Kit (priced $595.00).
    Any workaround suggestions
    OR
pay the $595.00 to get the LEAD Codec
    OR
go the file conversion route for the MotionJPEG?

    ATR,
    Great news!
On the PrPro forum, it's been 100% for MainConcept, and 99% for Morgan. One user could not get the Morgan to work on his/her system, but that could well have been OE on that poster's part. Still, those are not bad odds, and the 'cost" of the Morgan is better...
Just glad that it worked for you.
    Good luck,

  • Premiere elements 9 issue with m4v

i have a sony cybershot h55 and it shoots in m4v.
everytime i put my videos into premiere elements it gets spots where it goes black or white and pixely & it ruins the frame for a few seconds on and off
this isnt a trial version; i got the program straight from adobe. ive updated everything but it hasnt fixed my issue.
i have a windows vista sp2, if it helps.
anyone know why this is happening or how i can stop this? its soooo frustrating!

Premiere Elements will likely not be able to edit that video.
But you can increase the odds that it will be able to by:
    1) Ensuring you have the latest version of Quicktime installed, per the program requirements.
    2) Installing the software that came with the camera. (It may install some necessary codecs.)
    3) Ensuring that your Premiere Elements project is properly set up. Your setup could activate necessary components for you to be able to work with this video format.
It's hard to say which settings to select for your camera, since the camera shoots in both 1280x720 and 640x480 format. But most likely the settings you will need are listed as one of the DSLR options. Did you choose one of these when you started your project?
Did you use Premiere Elements' Get Media/Video Importer to get the video from your camcorder into yoru computer?
The biggest challenge is that, unlike DSLRs, the video from these consumer-style still cameras often uses the MJPEG codec, which can be challenging for videos to work with. I don't know if that camera shoots in MOV or AVI format, but knowing that could help us figure out how to convert the video to an editable format if the existing project settings dont' seem to work.
BTW, are you sure your camera produces m4v files? That's generally a file format that's only used for iTunes video.

  • Premiere Elements 7 issue with track 1

I just recently switched to premier elements 7.  When I first switched it was fine, but now when I bring video into the timeline it always creates new Tracks and will not allow me to put it into Track 1.  No idea why this is happening and it's not the end of the world, except when things are put in automatically they are put onto Track 1, and I can't even move my video from Track 2 to Track 1.  My computer is Vista home premium.  Any help would be appreciated!

Hmm. I see that this is a dual-format cam that will also record in MPEG2.
How are you getting this MPEG into your computer? Are you using Premiere Elements' Media Downloader to pull it off your hard drive?
Also, for this video you should be using the project preset for hard drive or DVD camcorders.
I'm not an expert on these dual-format camcorders, so there could be an issue with it using 5.1 audio, if it is for those MPEG. That could lead to the problems you're describing.

I installed Photoshop OK, but when I try to install Premiere, I get the Language screen, click OK, and it says preparing to install, and then I get a Windows Installer Window, with text and an OK button. After clicking OK, nothing happens. Please help.

You may get a result by uninstalling all existing .NET components via Control Panel>Uninstall a program.
Then download the redistributable components from Microsoft here (or the links below) and install in ascending order:
    .NET Framework 1.1
    .NET Framework 2.0
    .NET Framework 3.0
    .NET Framework 3.5

  • Adobe premiere elements 11 issues

i keep getting an error message whenever i try to drag and drop music from my itunes library, ill either get the "codec is not supported" or ill get the "importer reported a generic error" any advice on this?????

    Jejengelz
The conversion should be successful. The history on iTunes and Premiere Elements points to that.
    Steps included should be:
    a. Setting the iTunes preference for WAV Version as given in the how to link.
    b. In Music/Songs, selecting the song imported into the iTunes Library and applying the Create WAV Version to it.
Please see the end of a recent thread here for some screenshots that I prepared on that phase.
Re: What reasons would my movie render but then freeze up during the burn to disc?
The iTunes how to should be straight forward. But, we will be watching for further developments.

  • Premiere Elements 10 Issue

Can someone help me figure out why the software would shut down after the welcome screen new project button is pushed? Obviously there is no one available in support to answer this. The chat option also does not seem to be available.

Hi, Bill. Premiere Elements has its own forum, which is here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere_elements
and you'll usually get better answers to PRE questions if you post there. Good luck!

  • Premiere Elements 7 issues with slow playback, also after exporting

    Everyone,
I recently bought Premiere Elements 7 and I am running it on a sufficient computer (Dual core 2.4Ghz, 4 gigs of ram, 8800GTX gfx card).
This all runs on Windows XP, but when I put the video files in Elements. Premiere just plays back slowly.
Everything seems to move in slow motion.
Also after exporting, the video is in slow motion.
The audio on the other hand works fine.
The video files are .MP4 coming from a Sanyo Xacti HD1000 camcorder.

Thanks for your reply Grisetti, the funny thing is actually I also tried to work with the files on an Octo core which also didn't work.
Nevertheless, because that after exporting, so basically rendering, it is also out of sync and playing in slow motion. This is weird because no matter how fast or slow the computer, after rendering it shouldn't matter in the result.
The files are not AVCHD, they are already stored as MP4 files directly on the memorycard of the camera, and can just be copied and pasted onto the computer using a card reader.

  • Premiere Trial Install Issue

I've downloaded and supposedly installed Adobe Premiere CS6 trial. However, I can't find it on my computer, only some of it's components. I'm running Windows 7 32bit. The install did say that 64bit was required, but it ran anyway and said it was installed.
    1. Is this really installed? Not in my program folder.
    2. Is 64bit required for a full install?
    Thanks!

If it is Premiere Pro CS6 then it is not installed.  It will not function in a 32-bit environment.  You can find more details regarding the requirements at http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/tech-specs.html.

Please refer to your other thread on Adobe contact information for my comments on that.
It might be a good idea to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat to discuss "Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up". This does not prohibit you from continuing your Premiere Elements 12 issues here. The positive part about the Adobe contact is that, with the latest version, it may offer the opportunity for remote troubleshooting of your computer and the issue; whereas that is not possible in this user to user forum.
Lots of avenues to pursue...the usual drill...
    a. Problem antivirus and firewalls disabled?
    b. Running program from User Account with Administrative Privileges as well as Run As Administrator (from right click of desktop icon and Run As Administrator selection)?
    c. Latest version of QuickTime installed on computer with Premiere Elements 12?
    d. Have you ever gotten the program opened long enough to update it from 12 to 12.1?
    e. Video card/graphics card driver up to date according to web site of manufacturer of the card?
Please update us on your progress when you get the chance.
    Thank you.

  • Issue burning DVD in premiere elements 13

    To shortly summerize my problem:
When I try to burn a DVD premere elements is not really working like it should imho:
At 98% it first gave an error that there were no plugin DLL's. Disk was ejected but useless.
Second and third go it gave an error at 98% indicating that the writespeed was incorrect. Error message was wider then the container showing the message.
Tried burning an DVD ISO to harddisk instead: no errors but also no file. Doublechecked file location, reburned, same issue
Tried to encode to MP4 to harddisk: no issues
Tried reinstalling premiere elements: same issues
Does anyone have a good idea on what to try next?
    My computerspecs are as follows:
    win8.1 x64
    4790Ti
    8gb ram
No dedicated video card: intel hd graphics 4600
simple 8 speed usb DVD burner (keep in mind it also won't burn ISO files to harddrive...)
Computer fully patched and up to date, including latest quicktime
Obviously premiere elements 13, but the Dutch version.

Juergen may have hit on a critical matter as it relates to the success or failure of Premiere Elements 13 and its Burn To: Blu-ray ISO Image (25 GB).
Other ISO Image opportunities (for DVD and AVCHD) in Premiere Elements 13 have not yet been brought into the matter.
For many posts, Juergen has been reporting that he can generate a  Premiere Elements 13.iso image for Blu-ray, but when the .iso is taken to disc, the player does not recognize
the disc content. Only recently has he mentioned that the issue seems to be related to the file size of the .iso image produced. He said that if the Premiere Elements 13 iso file exceeded about 1.1 GB, the Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc produced in ImgBurn could not be read by the players.
Last night, I checked into that to see if I could confirm Juergen's observation. I have. This is a serious setback for Premiere Elements 13 which finally offers an Blu-ray ISO Image as an alternative to the Burn To: Disc product.
    So, for you to confirm.....
    1. Are you doing Publish+Share/Disc/DVD with Burn To: = ISO Image?
    2. If so, are you actually seeing an .iso image generated and saved to your computer hard drive?
If so, what is the file size of the .iso file produced?
    3. What is the file size for the DVD .iso file that you take into ImgBurn for burn to DVD disc to the correct disc files system,
is the disc content recognized by your player? If so, what player.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 4.0 burn issue

Premiere Elements 4.0 with Windows XP (both pre-loaded on a Dell computer purchased new in 2007).  I am able to create *.prel files with no problem and I had been able to burn projects up to 5-hr length to DVD with no problem until recently.   Starting October 2013 I have frequently had difficulty burning to DVD; although I have successfully burned projects ranging from 45 minutes to 4.5 hours.  Current projects are about 3 hours.  I'd rather create two 4.5-hour projects rather than three 3-hr projects, but have not been able to get a successful burn of more than three hours lately.  No 3D effects or still shots, just video clips from the same camera, so all those clips are the same format.  There are one or two video files from a camera phone, but this file format had not prevented a successful burn in other projects.  There are titles, and transitions between some clips.  I get "media transcoding " error or "Elements has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" error.  I have tried to save to folder, and export to avi or to mp3 file.  These work arounds have never been successful for me.  Is there some known, fairly recent (i.e. circa October 2013), Windows issue that interferes with Premiere Elements?  It has been very difficult to debug these issues, since I always have to wait to kick off a new burn overnight, and only find out in the morning if it was successful.

    mmcguire
    Lots of questions....
    1. Your mention of burn to folder failures seems to take the focus off your burner or disc at the core of your issue and focus it on the Timeline content and other Premiere Elements workflow related factors.
Premiere Elements 4 on any computer is a 32 bit application with all the resource limitations of 32 bit. So, I wonder about these large projects as well as burn to in that situation. Are you doing SD or HD projects? What are the properties of the video that you have on these Timelines?
Have you looked for pile ups of preview files, conformed audio, and conformed video?
What is the menu marker situation? Are Timeline menu markers in these projects? If so, have you checked the spacing between them? Are you using stop markers? If so, do you have one placed at the end of the last item on the Timeline?
Have you expanded the Timeline with the -+ slider to inspect the tracks for leftovers presenting as very thin vertical black lines scattered about? And, also looked for other irregularities, such as graps in audio or other, transitions placement, etc.?
If it were not for your burn to folder results, I would suggest looking at additionally
another batch of disc - what brand/type being used
burn to folder - taking the VIDEO_TS from the saved folder to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc with ImgBurn
getting a new burner - maybe on the old, looking for firmware and/or driver updates
But none of them seems indicated by the problem description that you offer. And, any involvement of a NVIDIA video card in this equation does not seem indicated since the recent NVIDIA video card Premiere Elements display issue referred to has been specific since the start to Premiere Elements 10 users with NVIDIA video cards. There the fix for these users has been rolling back the video card driver version rather than assuring that they had the latest version of the video card driver.

Please review. We will be watching for further developments.
    Thank you.

  • If Premiere Elements 8 does not properly exit or does not restart, try this

Pending a fix or advice from Adobe, I've written a tiny program to help with problems of Premiere Elements 8 not shutting down properly.
"PE8 Runner" is a small utility which...
    - Asks you whether you want to run Premiere Elements 8.0 with or without the welcome screen
    - Checks after you close the program whether it really has closed, or whether its process is still running
    - Asks you whether you want to terminate the unclosed process (so you don't have to use Windows Task Manager to do it).
    INSTALLATION
None.  You can run PE8 Runner.exe from anywhere on your PC.  But it assumes you have Premiere Elements installed
in the default location (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0)
    USE
    Run PE8 Runner.
Answer yes or no to the question about using the welcome screen.
(If you choose not to use the welcome screen you will go straight to the program
and then you must open or create a project using the normal menu).
Use Premiere Elements 8 as normal.
After you close Premiere Elements 8, about 10 or 20 seconds afterwards
you may see a window pop up telling you that the Premiere Elements process
is still running (and using your PC's resources), and asking you if you want
    to terminate the process.
Unless you are in fact still using the program, answer "yes".
    LIABILITY
The author (me) has developed and tested the program on a virus-protected system
using Windows XP SP3.  Every precaution has been taken to ensure that
it is reliable, but it's up to you to choose whether to use it or not, and the author
accepts no responsibility for the outcome.
Please test it on an unimportant project before using it on something real.
I have not been able to test it on other versions of Windows and would be interested in any reports.
Download link http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/9/22/1451533/PE8%20Runner.zip - it's a small download.  Source code is included.

I really can not understand their logic.  It is showing in Task Manager because the process (Adobe's exe) is still running and using the CPU.  I know this because it causes a slowdown on my system as well.  They are either assuming that Task Manager is reporting a ghost so it is an OS system, or they are claiming that they are making a call to a Microsoft function in a redistributable .dll or a function in a compile time library written by Microsoft, and that function is not operating as specified by Microsoft.
I know that it isn't a ghost report; the process is running.  If it is a failure in a .dll or library, Adobe will still have to issue an update to us after reporting it to Microsoft and MS putting out a developer's update. We can not report it to Microsoft because we do not know what functions they are calling.
It really sounds like their application is not distributing the exit call to all of its processes.  Without a design map and the code, it is all conjecture and I really shouldn't be guessing at what I really don't know.
Based on how many folks all see this, I can't imagine how this slipped through testing.  Oh well, it did and most organizations have one slip through every now and then.  The real important thing is how Adobe responds to the discovery.  I personally would be happier with a "We have been notified of this issue and our developers are working to recreate it and then correct any problems we identify."  It sounds like tech support has been outsourced and is too far removed from the situation to really respond with anything more than deflection. I have run into this with Digital River and their overseas call center.  They could answer by the script, but they really could not get to the folks who could provide answers or solutions. This kind of support is what turned me away from a large scale installation of Adobe consumer applications.  I have found better stability and support with the professional line of products.
I am looking forward to fix for this and any other issues.  PE is fun to play with.
