Premiere elements movie

I made a movie,(video), with still pix and video with Premiere Elements 10, it is too big to write to a DVD, how can I make it usable to play on a TV?

Premiere elements movie
Hi John,
I checked the "Properties" and it says it is over 9GB, and I assume that the 4.7 GB DVD won't hold it; or am I not looking at it in the right way.  I'm not any kind of an expert so maybe I'm not doing this right.   My video is just under an hour in length. Thanks for your help.   Norbert

The Tutorial Links Page http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 has several links on Sharing to various kinds of files
But... what have you done that you know your movie won't write to a DVD?
A one hour video will easily fit on a DVD, and two hours on a dual layer DVD

  • Premiere element move from 32 to 64 bit

    Hello All-
I am going directly from PE9 to PE13. PE9 was only available in 32 bit, and of course I want to install the 64 bit version of PE13 on my Windows 7 machine.
Q: Is the 64 bit version a totally separate installation from the 32 bit, or do I need to uninstall the 32 bit or do some other work before the 64 bit install?
    Thanks-

  • How can I move a picture in Premiere Elements 12 without having it leave a gap?

I have 133 pictures in a project with audio tracks playing while the pictures are being displayed.  I want to move some of the pictures around.  In Pinnacle Studio, a product I am familiar with, which unfortunately is not available on an iMac,  I simply select a picture, drag it to where I want it, and presto - all done, no gaps, and the audio track (which I have locked) is not impacted.  In Premiere Elements 12, when I move a picture, it leaves a gap of a black display where the picture was instead of shifting everything over like I assume most people would want it to do.
To make matters worse, Premiere then inserts a gap in the audio track at the location where I moved my picture.  Apparently the software thinks I don't want the music to play over my picture at its new location.  Then, when I try to select the blank area where my picture used to be and do "delete and close gap" it doesn't get rid of the entire gap.
I solved part of the problem by deleting the audio file, which I don't think I should have to do, but that's a function lacking in Premiere, not allowing me to lock the audio track.  So now the "delete and close gap" will work with the audio gone, but is there a way to simply move a picture from one location to another and just adjust all the other pictures so as not to leave a gap?
Am I the only one who thinks that not leaving a gap should be the default?  Why leave a gap just moving a picture from one location to another?  If the intent was to add another picture later, you just slip it in place.  I don't get it.
Thanks for any help anyone has.

Have you looked at Delete and Close Gap as well as Delete for what you describe?
Nonetheless, adding or moving clips to an existing Timeline content without disturbing the existing Timeline content can be challenging and complex under certain scenarios.
Typical solutions include making these moves with a keyboard modified held down (Windows Alt or Ctr). I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so we will need to find the Mac counterparts for the Windows keyboard modifier techniques.
Also, if one move triggers a multi-chain disaster, then you should consider grouping block of clips so that they do not move while you are busy with your Timeline maneuvers. Check out the Clip Menu options for Group and Ungroup.
Some times in the "Mac condition", you need to use fn in addition to the command to achieve some of these Windows counterparts.
The following video tutorial on arranging clips and keyboard modifiers is being posted for informational non promotional reasons.
Premiere Elements: Arranging clips on the Timeline using modifier keys | lynda.com - YouTube
It is demo'd with Premiere Elements 8, but the principles are the same for later versions of the program.
Here is one variation of the issue on Windows.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE: Delete and Close Gap Failures
You should not have to delete audio to prevent it from being split by an addition to an existing Timeline. The keyboard modifiers should help you resolve this type of issue.
    Please review and consider.
    Thanks.

  • Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere elements to shut down. We wil attempt to save your current project. This error occures when Im adding a .mov movie.

    Hello everybody
I have a new laptop and when I want to add a .mov movie to Adobe premiere elements, this error occures. Im trying to solve this problem now for days but I dont know how to continue. Im working with Windows XP, Version 2002, T2250, 0.99 RAM and an old Premiere elements 2004 version.
On my old computer I was able to add this same .mov movies, but not on the new one.
I also tried to convert this .mov movies, but the quality was to bad...
Does anybody know this problem? Im appreciating every little advice and help.
    Thanks a lot
    Sabine

Sorry for all the delays getting your thread moving forward. I suspect that it got lost in the daily thread traffic and Adobe's major updating of the forums.
Do your issues still exist. If they are the same as when you posted on May 8th, then
    1. When you used HandBrake for the converslion of your .mov file, did you leave the Container = Mp4. And under Video Tab, did you set the Videc Codec = H.264 (x264)? All you needed to do at that point was dot the Constant for the frame rate and designate a frame rate and select the Start button and wait for the Queue Finished message in the progress bar at the bottom left of the HandBrake workspace.
    2. What model iPhone is the video coming from? Your iPhone is probably giving you HD video (probably 1080p). So increasing the computer's installed RAM from 2.00 to 4 GB would be expected to help the overall workflow. Only if you have a 64 bit computer operating system, 8 GB installed would be even better. The 4 GB installed RAM is the maximum supported by a 32 bit computer operating system.
    3. Specially for
The movie is stopping and jumping.
When you are playing back the Timeline content, are you looking at the "rendered Timeline"? Is there an red line over the content during that playback? If so, press the Enter key and wait for the render process to complete. This rendering process gives you the best possible preview of what you are seeing. The red  line could be due to your editing the content, or it could be due to an incorrect selection of project settings. If you supply information about your video properties, we can suggest the best possible project settings. I do not recall seeing that you mentioned what version of Premiere Elements that you are using 1, 2, 3, 4 or other?
Please review the above and then let me know what supplemental information and/or clarification would help.
    Thank you.

  • Error generating movie Adobe Premiere Elements 11

    Hello,
I recently upgraded from Adobe Premiere Elements 8 to 11 (11.0).
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, running on Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.5 GHz, 4GB Ram, with 75GB free diskspace.
My input movies are AVCHD 1440x1080 25i video's (MTS files).
Everything is running fine. Editing goes smoothly (even smoother than when I was still using PE8). So in that sense I'm very satisfied and I think my system can handle it well. It doesn't seem to run out of memory, etc.
However, now I want to generate the output movie. The movie is about 10 minutes long and has some music and transitions under it. Previewing the movie goes fine.
I've tried uploading it to Youtube (HD 1440x1080 file). The progress monitor stays at 0% for 5 minutes and then suddenly goes 2 100% in a few seconds and afterwards starts to upload the movie. However, the movie that's actually uploaded contained only the first 4 seconds of the video. When I tried again, it was about 14 sec.
So, then I tried generating movies locally on the PC. I tried:
    Adobe Flash HD 720p.
    MPEG2 HDTV 1080i 25
    MPEG2 PAL DVD Widescreen
and some other formats (can't exactly remember which).
All of them ended with errors: "Error compiling movie", with cause unknown.
So, I haven't been able to generate any movie and I can't find out why it fails.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks,
    Michiel

These are not specifically for PreElements, but since other Adobe products have the same "core" in many instances, worth reading
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

  • Error exporting long movie in Premiere Elements 4

I just finished editing a movie in Premiere Elements 4.  Every time I try to export the movie, it begins rendering, gets as far as about 15%, and then says "Export Error: Error compiling movie.  Unknown error."  This happens no matter what format I choose.
I've read that this problem can be caused by titles and transitions, of which this movie has both.  But I think the problem is entirely due to the movie's length, which is six minutes and fifty-five seconds.  I say this because if I split the movie into 25-to-50-second chunks, leaving all titles and transitions intact, all the chunks export with no problems whatsoever.
I'm not running any other programs while the movie exports, but that doesn't help.
The source files are MOV (and one PNG), and the resolution is 1920x1080.  I want to export it at the same resolution, otherwise what was the point of shooting in that resolution?  I'm running Windows Vista on a Samsung R522 laptop, if it helps.
For what it's worth, I did manage to successfully export the audio portion of the movie as a WAV file.
What can I do?  My movie is due to premiere at a local arts festival in a few weeks, so I need to sort this out.  I read somewhere that the ideal setup is to have three drives -- one for the source videos, one for running the program, and one to export the file onto.  Will that help?
Many thanks for any suggestions you may have.
    -Grant

Thanks Bill -- and thank you mods for moving the thread.  I couldn't find an Elements forum so I assumed there wasn't one.
Actually, the progress bar in my version does tell you what frame it's on.  When I tried to export it just now, it gave up around frame 2328 of 12447.  Frame 2328 would be 01:17:18... which is the middle of a clip, with no titles, no effects, and no transitions, just ordinary video and sound.  30%, the number you suggested, gives frame 3738, which is 02:04:18, which is a different clip but the same deal.
The exact number varies from attempt to attempt anyway, which is why I think it's a "system memory" problem rather than a problem with a certain moment in the film.  As I said, each part of the film exported fine on its own.
The videos are all MOV format, 1920x1080, ranging in size from 40 MB to 666 MB (maybe the devil is trying to stop me from exporting).  There are 41 of them, giving a total of 11.9 GB.  The single PNG is also 1920x1080 and 6.02 KB.  The movie's audio is actually muted -- the audio that I successfully exported before was just the original audio from the raw clips.
I've got 55.3 GB of free space on my C drive and 580 GB of free space on my external drive; Premiere won't successfully export onto either of them.
Thanks for the link to the KB article, but I'd read it before and it didn't really help.  As it says, "unknown error" really does mean just that.  And it's clear that none of my clips or effects are problematic since they all exported fine when split into chunks.
I really do appreciate your help!  I don't know too much about computers so if I didn't give you the information you were looking for please let me know.
    Thanks so much,

  • Premiere Elements 11 -- Visual C++ Runtime Error when trying to add Movie Menus

Premiere Elements seems to be working fine in all reapects, except when I try to add Movie Menus, nothing shows up in the Movie Menu area, and eventually I get a Visual C++ Run time error as shown in the attached image.  When I click OK, the program crashes.  This is repeatable.
I am running Windows 7 with latest Service Pack.  I am running dual GeForce cards, with the latest drivers.  No other software is giving me any issues.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Steve,
    Thanks for the reply.
I have my two graphics cards SLI sttings properly configured, and they have been working correctly for every other Premiere unctionality, as well as all of the rest of CS6 applications (and Lightroom).  I have double-checked that I do have the latest drivers from nVidia's site.
I do have the latest QuickTime software.
I have gone in and updated all of the optional Windows updates.
I keep getting the same error, but I think I can describe it better.
When I go into the Movie Menu panel, the "Add a theme" link in the panel does not respond.  When I click the Menu Theme button in the upper right corner of the Movie Menu panel, I do get the library of themes to select from, but when I select one, it does not load in to the panel.  (It does download the content from online, though it doesn't show on the screen. I just see the "Add a theme" link in the middle of the page.)  The Adjustments panel on the right is completely blank.
I can click the "Done" button to close the Movie Menu panel.  But when I try to open the Movie Menu panel a second time, it crashes immediately and I get the error message from my last post in this thread.
I have repeatedly re-booted my computer, but I get the identical behavior.  All of the other functionality of Premiere Elements still work.
If the next receommendation is to re-install the software, do I have to move my projects anywhere?  Or do I just leave them and re-install?
    Thanks,
    Nick

  • Panasonic .MOV files only play audio no video in Premiere Elements 11??? Not Working Help

Panasonic .MOV files only play audio no video in Premiere Elements 11??? Not Working Help

It all depends on the codec the file uses, Karli.
What model of camcorder is this video coming from?
Are you working on a Mac or a PC? Have you got the latest version of Quicktime, per the program requirements? When you started your project, did you select the settings for a DSLR at 720p? This is a vital step since it will activate the components your computer will need to work with many of these types of files.
    BY THE WAY, KARLI--
PLEASE do not post the same question more than once on this forum! You've already got a thread going with this same question and several responses posted. It's very confusing when you post the same question a second time and start a whole new discussion.

  • Error compiling movie 'unknown error' premiere elements 11, tried every troubleshoot, what now?

I'm trying to export a video and I keep on running into this error message, which stops the export process.  I've already visited and tried the troubleshooting suggestions on this page and this page, and this page, and none of those suggestions have worked.  Here's a list of what failed:
Export in various file formats, every single one failed
I removed each asset individually and tried to export the video after each removal (100+ assets, imagine how long that took) and I got the error after every single time
I removed the front half of the video and tried exporting, still failed.
I removed the back half of the video (because if it failed if I removed the front, the problem asset should be in the back, right? nope.) and tried exporting, it still failed.
I don't have any Auto Color, Auto Contrast, Auto Levels, or Shadow/Highlight on any of my clips, although if I did, I'd try removing them.
All of my video files are the same format, so it's not a mix of formats in my timeline which is causing the problem.
I tried disabling auto-save, but it already tried to auto-save during the first 20 times I've attempted this, so the damage might already be done.
I obviously didn't use any other programs during this process
I moved all my assets to a different location on my harddrive, then reopened the project and refound the assests one by one, each of which had no problem getting into the timeline.  I tried rendering after this, and the render bar sailed along until a certain point, where it got stuck indefinitely.  I cancelled the render, which froze the program.  I had to close it and re-open the project, and re -link every asset again.  Once again there were no problems adding the assets.  I saved the project before the next render, so I wouldn't have to do this a third time, and it was a good idea I did, because the program froze again during the subsequent render.
My computer didn't go to sleep or hibernate during the first 5-10 times I tried various methods for exporting.  It has slept in some of the 10+ times I've tried it since, because I don't have the patience to sit in front of my screen and watch it fail again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again.  CAN YOU TELL THAT I'M FRUSTRATED???
The first thing I noticed that was wonky with this project was when I first tried to render my sequence. The render window chugged along just fine until it got to a certain point (can't remember the %), at which point it got stuck indefinitely.  I had to cancel the render, and then render other parts of the sequence bit by bit, avoiding what I thought was the problem part.  I tried rendering the problem part, and it got stuck again, so I eventually just decided that that clip didn't need to be in this movie, so I deleted it from the timeline.  All should be good at this point, my whole timeline is green from being rendered.  But, when I tried to export the video, I started down this tourtuous path of failed exports and frustration, and now here I am, posting in the forum, hoping someone can help me out.
The problem asset (if that was the problem in the first place) isn't in the timeline any more, but I'm still having issues exporting the movie.  The fact that rendering still gets stuck after re-linking assets, and after getting rid of the first problem asset, makes me think that there is some bigger underlying issue, but I have no idea what that could be.  I followed these instructions and re-opened the project, tried to export, and still got that 'Unknown Error'.
Please assist before I put my fist through this company computer.

Thanks for your update. Let us go through it.
    You wrote
During one of my isolation tests, I stripped the timeline off all assets except clips from the same footage and I also removed that New Blue effect, and the project exported without issue.
Did you run a control which included "with the New Blue effect" in this isolated test which does not sound like the "Full Project" as suggested in what you wrote next?
    You wrote
Could multiple renders and project files be part of the problem?  I've created many, many different versions of this project to test and see where the problem is, which in turn means I've created many different render files for each different project.  If this could be part of the problem, should I keep the original project and delete all my test projects and associated render files therein?
Each of the projects should have its own name which will be applied to its files. And each project should have rendered files specific to it (for SD project whether video or still clip = DV .avi file; for HD project whether video or still clip = MPEG2.mpg file). Are you naming these different projects with distinctive names?
Have you expanded the Timeline with the -+ slider and closely inspected the track content for
    a. leftovers such a very thin vertical black lines scattered about

You have probably seen the following, but I will post the link just in case. I suspect you have been there and done that.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12 doesn't import MOV Files

    Hi, All!
I'm working on Windows 8.1 64 bit and use Adobe Premiere Elements 12. I've downloaded and installed on my PC latest version of Apple QuickTime 7.7.4.1680.86 from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
I've trying to use some free stuff from http://www.detonationfilms.com/Stock_Directory.html and mix it with my video. You may download example of Pre-Keyed Explosions using direct link: http://www.detfilmsshockwave.com/DVExplosion01.zip or any other stuff from this site...
...but my Adobe Premiere Elements 12 with installed the latest updates doesn't import these MOV Files with codec PNG Image
In fact, Apple does not offer ProRes components for QuickTime on Windows, but I don't know do this problem interact with my trouble?
IMHO, it's best  to look at the crash logs for QT32Server! I've found executable QT32Server on my PC in next folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\CAHeadless\32\Adobe QT32 Server.exe, but can't found any import logs on my Windows 8.1 including hidden folders. I have trying to check the windows events log for errors %windir%\system32\eventvwr.msc /s but it contains no necessary items.
I have trying to re-install version 6.5.2 of Apple QuickTime, but without success. May be I must try to install any other older version, i.e. 7.5.5 ?
I think perhaps such behavior of Adobe Premiere Elements 12 is in design?
May be I'd try third party free video converter, like SUPER e.t.c. to convert MOV container to AVI?
Please help me to find a way to fix this problem.
    Sincerely yours,

What is this "codec PNG image" that is contained/wrapped by the .mov format? What are the video and audio properties of this video...frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, pixel aspect ratio, et al.
It sounds like you have Premiere Elements 12 is running on some version of Windows with QuickTime (latest version) installed on the same computer as Premiere Elements. Great. Requirement for QuickTime met.
Where is this PNG.mov coming from? And what type of .avi were you thinking to convert to?
Premiere Elements 12 Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime does offer an export with a PNG video codec with the .mov file extension. I am in the process of exporting my Timeline to that type of file and then determining if I can import that back into Premiere Elements 12 project.
When your png.mov will not install into Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8.1 64 bit, what is the specific message that you are getting from the program at that time.
More shortly after my export of the png.mov is finished. Any minute now.

Add On....The png.mov produced by Premiere Elements 12 Window 7 64 bit could be imported into a Premiere Elements 12 project. I am now going to my laptop which has Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8.1 64 bit to do the same thing and see what happens there. Back soon.

If not, you cannot. There is no Premiere Elements 8 Mac version. And, you cannot install Premiere Elements 8 Windows on

Hi, I have problem with importing MOV files from SJCAM 4000. MOV files are in supported formats for Adobe Premiere Elements 11. But if I'm importing MOV file, only audio part is imported, video part is not imported. How can I solve this problem?

    haben
From looking at the specifications of your camera (SJCam 4000), we know already what video compression your camera is using. It is H.264.
A H.264.mov file should be supported by Premiere Elements 11. On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer? And, are you running QuickTime and Premiere Elements 11 from a
User Account with administrative privileges? Please go to Premiere Elements 11 Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime to confirm that you find
presets there for the QuickTime choice there.
What are the properties of these H.264.mov files - is it 1080p30 (1920 x 1080p30)  or something else? Do you know if this camera is recording with a variable or
    a constant frame rate?
Please review and consider and then we will decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere Elements is not recognizing my file as a "movie"

I'm using Premiere Elements 9 in Windows 7.  I have several media files on my hard drive that are AVCHD Video (.m2ts).  Each are roughly the same size (about 10GB), they have video and audio, and they play fine in Windows Media Player.  When I add them to my Premiere Elements project, sometimes Elements recognizes some files as movies and others as videos (i.e. they have no sound if you play them in Premiere).  It is quite random -- the media files I'm using are very similar and were created the same way.
I also have the same issue with Movie Clip files (.mpg).  I have a bunch of these on my hard drive that were created the same way, but when I add them to my project, Premiere Elements treats some of them as movies and others as videos.
All of them should be recognized as movies.  I've banging my head at this issue, as I keep trying to add, clear, re-add media to my project in all sorts of combinations, trying to guess how Premiere is going to treat each file.  And I haven't even placed any of these on the timeline yet!!!!
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.  Adobe has been unreachable on this issue.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Are they consistent (is it always the same files that work properly and the same ones that don't)?
Do analyze them with  GSpot and post the images here. That will also answer Bill's question about audio formats.

    Neale
