Premiere Elements - QT32 server.exe - no disk
I have Premiere Elements 10 on win7 (64). Using instant movie I get an error message '5d0: adobe QT32 Server.exe - No Disk, There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:'. Drive D on my computer is one of the card reader slots. This shows up as a process in Task Manager which cannot be killed. Any thoughts welcome
I had QT version 7.6.9. Your answer prompted me to check for upgrades. Upgrading to 7.7.1 failed so I uninstalled 7.6.9 and installed 7.7.1 manually (after having to manually delete a file left behind by 7.6.9 uninstall - 'error getting file security' message ).
Instant movie now works fine.
BTW - I had recently installed the Additional Function Content &, on checking again, my 'D' drive is in fact my DVD drive. There may have been a pointer to there from my recent installation of the Additional Function Content.
Thank you for your time.

Adobe QT32 Server.exe Premiere CS6 Pro and Media Encoder
Hi,
Been having intermittent issues with this. I'll be trying to render, or even just scrubbing through a clip in the timeline and Adobe Media Core CS6 has stopped working pops up:

Doesn't always do it, but now I've found an instance where it's reliably repeatable. As I scrub through a certain part of the footage, it crashes. Or it crashes at the same point during rendering.
I've succesfully edited and rendered clips made from the same cameras, recorder (Tricaster 410) - even from the same actual media file. I've tried updating QuickTime, uninstalling, reinstalling QuickTime, doing windows updates, updating GPU drivers from Nvidia, clearing media cache DB, launching Premiere while holding shift. Nothing makes a difference.
System is an 2 CPU Intel Xeon E5-2687W 3.1 GHz, 64GB RAM running Win7 Pro 64.
Anyone have any suggestions that don't involve reinstalling CS6?...BE AWARE.....the newest versions of PPro CC 2014 contain a "fix" for your problems with the .MOV 32 bit codec. Somehow, .MOVs are NOW handled in a 64 bit environment by PPro which REMOVES the CRIPPLING use of the 32 bit Quirktime process, and ALLOWS much greater memory to be used than the old 4 GB limit.......I've seen the DRASTIC improvement myself on my Haswell laptop. I am not sure about Media Encoder, however, it would be STUPID if the same improvement was not also made with THAT program. CS6 does NOT have this improvement.....and WILL not updated to get it. If I return to PPro 5.5....the "old" crappy performance returns with Canon MOVs......even on a TWICE as powerful machine !!!!.....UGH !!!
....Better to submit to the "subscription model" and its pecadillos that try to edit with a QUIRKTIME hobbled workflow !!!! -
Adobe QT32 Server.exe has stopped working?
Everytime I exit Premiere cs5 or media encoder cs5 this error message would pop up. Currently it doesn't seem to effect the programs, it is just really annoying. Does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix it?
I get this error when I start Windows.
Since I seldom use Premiere I don't want to give access to its services to contact any servers at all.
And also, I Windows firewall should show a message when blocking a new program, according to my firewall settings, and I don't find Adobe QT32.exe in the firewall list of programs.
The only Adobe program I've got installed is Adobe Premiere Elements 13, but it seems to have installed some unwanted services...
The error as it appear in my Event viewer (labels in Swedish):

Thanks for the reply. I'm using After Effects CC 12.2.1.5
Here's the screenshot of my View Preview settings:
Also, after further troubleshooting, I can get the sequence to render IF I select resize and enter dimensions outside of the original dimensions. (I'm currently trying to render a 3840 x 2160 QHD comp but I get the same issue with 1920 x 1080 comps)

How to speed up render to h.264 in CS6? Adobe QT32 Server.exe causes long delay
(Before you say "Don't use AE to render to h.264; use AME!" – I'd love to, but AME isn't controllable from the command line / batch files the way aerender.exe is)
When I try to render a brain dead simple composition (30 seconds, black background with the word "DUMMY" centered), aerender takes nearly four minutes to complete. This is a Windows Server 2012 box with 32 CPUs (16 cores+16 HT), about ~60GB of memory and I believe it's on 10Gb ethernet. Turning multi-processing off doesn't have effect on the pause.
If I view the task in task viewer, NO CPU is being used and Adobe QT32 Server.exe is running. Analyzing the wait chain for aerender.exe says that a thread is waiting for network i/o to complete (I assume this is Adobe QT32 Server.exe, which uses TCP to talk to Quicktime). After about three minutes, the render continues (and goes blazingly quick, as expected).
WTF?
How can I get around this long, useless pause? Is there an alternative h.264 output module that doesn't use Quicktime?
Thanks in advance! The flaw is here:
This is a Windows Server 2012 box
Adobe desktop programs are generally not officially supported on server operating systems. Whatever issues you have are probably due to things like local users vs. network users, disk quota, specific group policies or plain and simple another process occupying or blocking the same port that the QT server is using. In any case, this is nothing we can figure out for you. You have to sit down and work your way through the server's administration tools, turn off stuff, change user permissions. Check the event logs for conflicting processes or use tools like Sysinternals' Process Monitor or Wireshark to track down port collisions and otehr problems.

What is "Adobe QT32 Server.exe"?
Greetings,
Please let me know if this is the wrong forum.
There is a 32-bit program running on my computer called Adobe QT32 Server.exe. How can I find out what it is, or which application installed it?
I have only installed Photoshop Elements 11.0. Flash and Reader came pre-installed.
Thanks,

No, I tried using Bing.

Any specific problem?
It's using up a big of processing power, so I was just wondering what it was.

Getting a an adobe QT32 Server.exe error?
My production premium CS6 media encoder was working fine and now every time I launch I get the Adobe QT32 Server.exe. - No Disk error That reads There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk drive\Device\Harddisk2\DR10
We can't know. You have not provided any proper system info nor details about your render settings or e.g. the settings for the Media Cache. This very much sounds like it is simply looking for a file from a previous render that no longer is there...

Quicktime output error - adobe qt32 server.exe
Hallo,
ich habe eine HP Workstation Z800 mit 2xSixcore 2,66, 24GB RAM. Betriebssystem ist Win7 64bit. Software: Adobe CS5 MasterCollection, Avid MC 5, Norton 360 Premier Edition, Quicktime 7.2.6., MS Office 2010.

Premiere Elements 10 crashing when using disk templates
Hi there
I have a really annoying problem when trying to use Premiere Elements 10 on my Mac
I can import and edit video ok but as soon as I try to build a disk using one of the pre-installed templates Premiere Elements 10 crashes with the following message 'Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project'. It doesn't seem to matter which template I choose the error always happens.
When I re-open the project all the video is missing and I have to start the project over again which is really frustrating.
Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening? I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Premiere Elements 10 but that hasn't helped.
I have included a screen shot and also info from a crash report (which includes the specs for my MacMini) below.
Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks for the follow up.
I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so my information on the pros and cons of the Mac operating systems is second hand. From what I have read, there appears to be problems with that Mac OS x 10.9 (Mavericks).
But, let us clear away the basic setup first so we do not have to worry about those factors entering into the troubleshooting mix.
Project Preset should match the properties of your source media. Export choices do not have to be the same as the project preset. And, there appears to be an issue with your choice...
a. What do you have PAL DV Widescreen? If so you have 720 x 576 with a 16:9 flag to stretch the video for display after encoding. I am assuming that your 25 frames per second frame rate is interlaced. Is that correct?
If you have 720 x 576 16:9 at 25 interlaced frames per second, your pixel aspect ratio would be expected to be 1.4587 with Field Order = Lower Field First. If all that is so, then your project preset would be expected to be
PAL
DV
Widescreen.
The project preset needs to match the properties of your source media so that it can direct the program to set up the correct space in the Edit Mode monitor for editing purposes. It also directs that project as to which set of DVD template (.psd) files to offer you when you get to the disc menu section of the program.
So let us sort through the above versus the following...
a. Are you dealing with source media with frame size 1024 x 576 pixels with pixel aspect ratio of Square Pixels (1.0).
b. Is the Field Type, (None) Progressive
When you talk about 576p, to what specific export settings are you referring?
Let us review the above and get those details worked through.
The bottom line may be that Mac operating system. But, we will let the details define out troubleshooting strategy.
Thanks.

like the title says...
cannot get service or support on phone... I paid for this software... i though adobe was a good company.... darn
Can anyone help me...
Need this to work now not in a week...Sorry you think Adobe is a bad company. Phone service for most common consumer software disappeared shortly after they invented the internet. This is a user forum where there are people that like Adobe products well enough that they freely share their experiences.
If you type "insert disk" in the "Ask it" box you will get answers that suggest there is an anomaly on some computers where you need to remove a file. Below is a cut and paste from one of those threads that was offered by Adobe Staff.
".... try removing the Old Film effect from the installed location of Premiere Elements 13 and then try to launch the app? The exact file to be removed is (assuming you have installed it in the default location)
Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 13\Plug-Ins\Common\NewBlue\OldFilm.AEX"
The other solution might be to get the update that was released only yesterday via download from Adobe. Premier Elements 13 is now 13.1.
Good luck!

Adobe premiere elements 12 install with no disk drive
Please help me install adobe premiere elements 12 on my new computer with no disk drive. I appreciate your help!
Hi Toopie66 ,
Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Please click on the below mentioned link to download Premiere Elements 12 :
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_elements&loc=us
Once its downloaded Use the serial number and convert it into Full licensed version.
Please reply for any assistance.
Thanks -
I am unable to open premiere elements 11 PDapp.exe (0xc0150002)
Also I had to reinstall Adobe aplication manager, I reintall the hole program too. and do not work
Adryah
Thanks for the follow up information.
The first thing that is of concern is the 2 GB of installed RAM. But, that should be enough to get at least Premiere Elements 7 installed.
When you started the reinstall of the program, did you do so with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? The typical scheme would be
a. uninstall (Control Panel route)
b. ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts)
c. reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
What was your source for the Adobe Application Manager? Have you confirmed that your Premiere Elements 7 is installed or not via its presence or absence in Control Panel/Programs?
Please explore
Local Disk C
Program Files (x86)
Common Files
Adobe
then in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE Folder. Rename the OOBE Folder from OOBE to OLDOOBE.
Does the issue disappear?
We could also look at deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and the whole 7.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
Local Disk C
Users
Owner
AppData
Roaming
Adobe
Premiere Elements
7.0
and in the 7.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 7.0 Folder in which it exists.
Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
Please review and consider and then we will decide what next accordingly.
Thank you.

After Effects: Windows 7: QT32 Server.exe Crashing When Rendering H264
Hi,
I am encountering After Effects on Windows 7 SP1 outputting an "Output Module Failed" when rendering any comp to the desktop as a QT H264(even a new project w/ a comp w/ just a single solid & no effects) in both After Effects 12.1/2 and Media Encoder(of a AE comp). I have already done the following:
Removed Preferences
Cleared Cache
Turned Off Firewall
Reinstalled QT 7
Restarted Machine
Other discussions/posts regarding QT32 Server and AE seem to be focused on OS X. I've checked QT's component folders to find no components. Not sure if I should be looking elsewhere. There are no third party codecs installed. I have encountered this at two different studios I do IT for. Beyond uninstalling CC and running the Cleaner, is there anything I can do?
Thanks,
AnthonyDo you have a computer with a lot of processor cores? The Apple H.264 encoder used for QuickTime has a severe bug when used on a system with 24 or more processor cores (so, a 12-core computer with hyperthreading enabled).
Why are you creating a QuickTime movie with H.264? QuickTime is generally a good container, and H.264 is a good codec, but H.264 in QuickTime is a mess. What, exactly, are you going to do with this file? How are you determining your delivery specifications? -
I just got the Premiere Elements 9 yesterday and used "Disk 1" for the installation. There is NOTHING that I found in the packaging materials to explain what "Disk 2" is used for. Is it needed for further installation? Content? I hesitate to just put it in the DVD tray without knowing what it is to be used for. I did download the full templates content last night (4 1/2 hours for nearly 5GB of a file). Thanks for any information anyone can provide me.
Bill,
Thank you for your comments! I figured that maybe, possibly someone in the
Adobe higher up level might monitor the forums, see my posting(s) and see my
point. A few years ago I had gotten the second or third generation of
Premiere and Photoshop Elements and have had them on my main computer.
Still do.
I just got a laptop and earlier this spring I got a Flip HD Slide camcorder,
but trying to convert those videos to burn on DVD has proven to be a pain.
I only found one or two software packages that could convert the MPG4
formats, and they take forever to format. So I thought that I'd get PE9
since I'd read that it had Flip video compatibility. It did a good job
yesterday doing what I wanted it to do in burning a DVD.
I'm old school on labeling the installation disks. Like you said, years ago
Adobe (and other software companies, for that matter) had pretty good
installation and reference cards for use. I just wasn't quite sure what to
do with Disk 2. I got on the Live Chat yesterday morning with a ViJay Kanna
and all he could come up with was to contact tech support. So I called that
800 number and got the message that it would be $39.95 for them to answer
questions.
I decided that I'd better find a better way, so I hung up and found the PE9
forum. Posted my question and had a response in just a matter of minutes.
I'll certainly be checking in on the forums! It is nice when other
contributors actually provide good, solid information, advice, and support
for each other!
I just got back from our town square, using my Flip camcorder to get some
shots of Santa arriving with his police escort to visit with some Fairfield
children before heading off on his rounds. I'm looking forward now to see
what I can put together on PE9!
Have a great holiday and thank you for your support and thoughts. They are
much appreciated. Maybe someone at Adobe will change their disk labels
after all! That is one of my 'wishes' for Santa!
Sincerely,
Richard K Thompson
