Steve,
I wonder if this would be a good time to consolidate the old FAQ's into one. Not sure how this new forum layout will work, regarding "stickies," but so many folk would just look at the FAQ for their version, and had to be dragged to look at the material for older versions, even though most of that info was still pertinent. Something about thinking that everything is 100% version specific, like your "PE in a Snap," or Jeff Bellune's "... Easy Guide to EncoreDVD 2."
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Adobe Premiere in Creative Cloud?

I just purchased Adobe Cretaive Cloud and downloaded the application manager. However, I don't see an option to install Adobe Premiere. Why is this?

Software which will not run on your computer will not appear as available for download in the AAM.
Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Encore are all 64 bit only meaning they will only run on 64 bit operating systems.
    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/premiere/faq.html#64bit-support
Is your operating system 32 bit? e.g. Windows 7 32 bit? If so, you will not be able to download or install Premiere Pro. You will have to upgrade to a 64 bit computer.

  • Premiere pro doesn't open

Hi I have just downloaded adobe premiere pro trial version, however when I try and open the programme I get a message that says the application was unable to start correctly. I hope you can help me out.

    32 bit or 64 bit?
Premiere Pro CS6 is 64 bit only and requires a 64 bit processor and operating system. It will not install or run on 32 bit systems.

  • Adobe Premiere wont appear in my Application Manager list for download

I have just purchased Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 for 19.90 each monthly. When i went to download Photoshop it appeared in my Adobe application Manager list and allowed me to install it with no issues. However when i went to download Adobe Premiere Pro it does not appear in my Adobe manager list and thus wont allow me to install it. Where do i install Adobe Premiere and why won't it let me install it as it doesn't appear in my adobe application manager?

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 will only install and run on 64 bit systems
    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/premiere/faq.html#64bit-support
I suspect you're running a 32 bit system in which case it will not appear in the AAM for download.

  • My adobe premier pro CS6 will not install

    Hi there
I am trying to install the adobe premier pro cs6 trial version, when I go through the set up, it say's that Adobe Encore CS6 and Adobe Premier pro CS6 do not meet os requirments, 64 bit os recommended.
I really don't have much idea what that means or if there is a way around it etc. is there another version of the trial that doesn't require 64 bit? My computer is operating a 32 bit system.
    thanks
    Bex

    Unfortunately not.
Premiere Pro CS6 and Encore CS6 are 64 bit only. They will not run on your machine.

You could have a look at Premiere Elements which runs on 32 bit and 64 bit.

  • Downloading Premier Pro CS6 with CC Installed

Hi, I have 2 computers, one with a CC membership but it also has PP CS6 on it (Which I prefer to CC...so far). Is there any way to download PP CS6 to another computer as part of my subscription – I would never be using PP on both at the same time.

On Windows, the CS6 versions of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, SpeedGrade, and Encore require a 64-bit edition of Microsoft® Windows 7.
If you are using one of the following operating systems, you will not be able to install or run those applications:
32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows XP Home or Professional
32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise

  • FAQ: Why is playback stuttering when I preview within Premiere Pro?

Stuttering or jerky playback is very often caused by the inability of your computer system and/or Premiere Pro to render and play frames as quickly as necessary for realtime playback.
Causes vary, including such factors as inadequate hard disk speed, inadequate CPU speed, and other software interfering with playback.
For information about optimizing your computer and Premiere Pro for performance, as well as finding performance bottlenecks, see this page:
"optimizing for performance: Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects"
Stuttering or jerky playback can also occur when a sequence's settings aren't correct for the kind of footage playing in it. See this page for more information:

  • FAQ: Can I open my Adobe Premiere Clip project in Adobe Premiere Pro?

Yes. When you are ready to export your project to Premiere Pro, begin by tapping the share button in the upper right corner of your screen. Next, simply tap the Edit in Premiere Pro button. Within a few minutes, this will send your project and media to your Creative Cloud folder. Open up Premiere Pro on your computer, and from the Welcome Screen select the option to “Convert Premiere Clip Project” under the “New” heading. Next, choose the project XML file you wish to continue editing in Premiere Pro. All of your project edits will show up in your Premiere Pro timeline, making it easy to continue working.

Since PrPro project is an XML file, you can open it up in any script editor (e.g. Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit) or even text editor, in fourth line find Version="25"

    and replace it with Version="23".
Although it works just fine most of the time, bear in mind: everything is at your own peril.

  • FAQ: How do I submit a bug report or feature request or otherwise give feedback about Premiere Pro?

The best way to submit a bug report or feature request is to use the bug-report/feature-request form.
The Premiere Pro team doesn’t  necessarily see and record every post on every forum and social network, but we do see, record, and track every entry  through the the official feature-request/bug-report form.
It also helps a lot if you opt into the Product Improvement Program.
Also, be sure to use the crash reporter.
We really do read all of the bug reports and feature  requests, and the software really does get a lot of benefit from  detailed crash reports.
Don’t forget about contacting Adobe Technical Support or Customer  Service, too. For information on how to contact Adobe Technical Support,  see this page. (Note that you must register your product before you can open a technical support case for it.)
If you have tried to get help from our support staff, but the service  was inadequate, I can help you to escalate your issue if you send me  your case number at kopriva at adobe dot com. You must provide me  a case number. I am not offering to solve your problem myself; rather, I  am willing to forward your information to someone if you have already  hit a dead end with our Technical Support or Customer Service.
If you have feedback about the content of the Premiere Pro Help document,  then please add a comment at the bottom of the relevant page. You can  add comments to add information, to add links, to make corrections, or  to ask for clarification.
If you want to keep up with the Premiere Pro team, then you can follow our blogs, Facebook page, and Twitter feed and so on.
Oh, and I can’t resist this opportunity to remind you to update to  the most recent version of the application. Don’t be surprised when the  first thing that you hear back from us is that you need to install the  latest updates. We fix a lot of things in updates, and we don’t want to go chasing bugs that we’ve already fixed. We’ll keep you posted on our blogs, Facebook page, and Twitter feed about updates as they become available.

    Hi qwerty,
Dun tink that creative customer support sucks cos I had been dealing with them in the past and I can say that their service are quite gd and fast. If you wanted a refund, I tink you need to contact the store that sells you the product. Dun tink creative will refund you though.

  • Stuttery playback Premiere Pro CS6, I know this is a FAQ but I can't find a fix.

I'm going to list as much as I can if I forget anything please don't be harsh, I will make sure to add/reply with what I missed. Please bare in mind I may add stuff that is not a cause of the issue but I'm just trying to give you as much background as possible.
Basically I have been using Premiere Pro for quite a while (around 4-6 months with no issue) I came over from Sony Vegas and have never looked back, (I use Ps, Au, Ai & Ae also so the intergration is perfect) a couple of weeks ago I started havng issues with playback I will add my specs below and you can see I have quite a beefy PC which makes me think it's maybe a hard drive issue. Everytime I open Pr I hit the 'HDV 1080p 30fps' preset drag my clip in and hit 'change sequence settings' Screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/kXG8n
Then as I mentioned about 2 weeks ago I started having stuttery playback (frames will stutter foward and after around 10 frames with jult back around 4-5 frames), I found a fix of copying & pasting my timeline into a new sequence but this fix is no longer working. One thing I have noticed is that the work area render bar used to be red and is now yellow when I add my footage, I am using the software MPE (I have an AMD GPU and as far as I'm aware I cannot do any different) I have 10gb of ram allocated to Adobe products in the 'memory' tab. I have tried 'optimizing rendering for' both performance & memory and giving it all 15gb of RAM that I can but it all makes no difference. Screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/Guanm
I have been googling it every day for the past two weeks, I even have the search 'stuttery playback in premiere pro' bookmarked and have have tried every possible thing. I have been forced to go back to Vegas for the moment and I want to be using Premiere Pro again so can anyone help?
i'm aware that it could be a hard drive issue as I only have one HDD, this has never been an issue before and I don't wanna go out and spend unnecessary money. I appciate any response, I'm not sure how these forums work with upvotiing or anything like that but if you could share this discussion with people that would be fantastic, thank you very much for your time.]
My PC specs: (I have put all that I think is relevent, if anything else is needed please let me know).
    Processor: Intel® Core™i7-2700k Quad Core (3.50GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics
    Motherboard: ASUS® P8Z77-M: MICRO-ATX, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI®CrossFireX
    Memory: 16GB SAMSUNG DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (2 X 8GB)
    Graphics Card: 2GB AMD RADEON™ HD7850 - DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable
    Memory: 1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 32MB CACHE (Please note: this drive is currently writing at 183 MB/sec)
Once again thank you for your time.

Part of the reason for such stuttery playback performance lies with the limitations of the single SATA connection (channel) itself. You see, SATA is not full duplex, but only half-duplex. That means that a block of transfers going in one direction must be completed before a block of transfers can even begin in the opposite direction. Think of the SATA channel (single connection) as a single-lane stretch of highway with traffic signals at each end. What's worse, that single disk must also deal with the Windows pagefile, the media cache, previews and various other things all going on at the same time. As a result, the effective performance of that single disk can plummet by a factor of six: That single disk, after accounting for all of the tasks it must perform at the same time as video playback, is left with only about 32 MB/s of bandwidth available for Premiere Pro.
In other words, that single disk is being severely overworked as it is.

  • FAQ: What are the limitations of the free, 30-day trial version of Premiere Pro?

The free, 30-day trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and earlier lacked many of the most useful and popular codecs,  including codecs for MPEG-2, AVCHD, and RED media. This meant that  people had a hard time evaluating the software for real-world use.
    Not any longer.
The trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, and later includes all of the  codecs that are included with the full version of Adobe Premiere Pro  CS5.5. This means that you can import and export to all of the supported  file formats using the trial version.
See this page for more details about the trial version.
For lists of formats that you can import into and export from Adobe Premiere Pro, see these pages:
formats that you can import into Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5
formats that you can export from Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 through Adobe Media Encoder
formats that you can export directly from Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5

There are no limitations for 30 days, it will work exactly as if you have a subscription. But if you don't get a subscription, after 30 days, you will no longer be able to launch the program.
