Premiere freezes after sending to encoder

So I'm running the latest version of CC. I've got a very simple and straight forward timeline. After sending "Exporting Media" via queue to Media Encoder, everything exports fine. But after returning to Premiere, it has become impossibly slow--practically frozen. No crash, no error message, just takes about 60 seconds for any clicks to register. I click save project, and the saving progress bar does not visibly progress, yet it seems to actually successfully save the project, because closing and launching premiere, the file is saved up-to-date just fine.
So for the past few days, I've been saving --> export/queue timeline --> quit premiere --> allow queue to complete --> then relaunch premiere... Of course, this is only a temporary work around.
Now, if I "Export" the media only without queueing in Encoder, it does fine and premiere remains stable and normal.
Ideas?

You have not provided any system info or other technical details like your sequence settings or footage used, so nobody can know anything. Either way, ask in the Premiere forum and provide al lthat necessary info.

  • Two things, One freezing after sending files, two ...

So yea, the first one i'm sure i'm not the first to wonder why it's doing that for and i did try some of the things that were told to be done like; Renaming skype in the %appdata% and then deleting that other skype folder in that other place but, it just re-freezes after sending anything again anyway, and secondly, for some reason the ads keeps flickering whenever i type something it's not really all that big of a deal on this one but, it's annoying anyway.
So, in short, why does it keep freezing after sending something and how do i make it stop freezing.
And on a side note, i'm very terrible with forums so, please don't be hating me if i posted this in the wrong place.

What version of Windows are you on (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 )? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?
In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.
P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

  • Premiere freezes when sending to Media Encoder Queue

    Hey guys,
This issue is on all of our computers (Mac Pros and 27" iMacs) and happens on 40% of attempted exports through Media Encoder.
    Here's our new workflow:
    - Export TImeline (Command + M)
    - Send to Media Encoder (Queue button)
    - Media Encoder Opens and Premiere gets hung on "Preparing Data for Export" dialogue
    - Force Quit Premiere and get a dialogue that "There has been a serious error and Premiere needs to close"
    - Reopen Premiere and try again – usually get a clean export (or two on a good day) before it craps out again
We've sort of gotten used to it but I'm wondering – anyone else having this issue? It's getting annoying (and embarrassing when you're in a client session).
Doesn't matter what timeline setting or what's on the timeline. Also doesn't matter what version of either program.

I am having the same problem (see Premiere now freezes on Media Encoder Queue)
I am on 2014.1 of both programs (8.1.0 on premiere, 8.1.0.122 of AME).  I know an update just came out today, but it seems to be just a RAW photo update.
Mine hangs when premiere is "Preparing Media for Export..."  It launches AME and AME boots up fine... so from where I sit, it looks like a Premiere problem as it's compiling the project file to export.
Neither "import natively / non natively" or GPU acceleration help.  However, I wouldn't expect them to, given this seems to be a premiere problem, not an AME problem.
That thread does not apply re: nView.

  • E70 Freezing after sending Texts

after I write my text, add in the contact name for the recipient, then press send, the "sending now bar" appears and seems to load fully. Then it goes back to the text message general menu and the phone freezes.
This happens every time I send a text and I have no idea why.
    Any ideas/help??

this probably is a case of a bug in ur device so what u can try are: plz make a back up
take out your sim card and put in *#7780# to restore factory settings. you should not lose any data, but all settings will go into default. try that first.
the second option is a reset *#7370# this one will erase all of your data, 'wipe the phone clean' and restore to factory settings. see if any of these options work and if you are able to use your phone as you like/need to.
the third option U can go in for a hard reset which will turn ur device as it left the factory totally new
U can also update/reinstall ur firmware and see the result...
Also use ur device without the memory card and see
in case of ur memory card there are different options available to you to get rid of the corrupt/unwanted data in your card.
    menu--tools--memory---options---format memory card......
remember everything including ur factory installed apps will be deleted......... but u can always download them later either from nokia or google them...
or insert ur card in any reader or laptop and check for virus and also the hidden folders.......

  • Premiere Freezes After Capture

After capturing footage on an HDV miniDV from my camera the screen pretty much goes white.  It's right after the "Save Captured Clip" box comes up and I name the clip.  It seems to have a problem closing the capture window and loading the new clip into the project box.
Also, after capture and after clicking OK in the "Save Captured Clip" box a window pops up telling me there was a problem with video playback.  But since I was able to hit cancel after the first time it pops up after capturing and continue on to the "Save Captured Clip" box, I figured it wasn't too big of a deal that I not be able to see the footage in the capture screen.
A completely usable clip is successfully saved to my scratch that I can edit.  But I don't want this happening every time I want to capture.
    My Workflow:
    Turn my computer on.
    Connect my camcorder through firewire.
    Turn camcorder to VCR mode.
    Open Premiere.
    Open or start a project.
    Open the capture window.
    Click the record button.
Click the stop button. (a window comes up telling me there was a problem with video playback but it keeps going anyway)
The "Save Captured Clip" box comes up and I name it and click OK (the window telling me there was a problem with video playback comes up again)
    Thanks!

    Try this for HD capture

  • Adobe Premiere freezing after most recent update

    Hey all,
I posted in here a while back because I was working with MTS files and seemed to be having an issue out of the blue with my projects freezing, where the video would play, but the cursor and anything I would click or move would not respond.
I ended up transcoding to Prores and finished the edit.
BUT!!!  Even in the prores version this happened again, and I finally tied it to the universal counting leader.  Now I've used this thing many times before with no problems.  But since the most recent update (I'm now running CC v8.1.0) this keeps happening!  If I have the leader in the projects window and the timeline (or just the projects window) it's starts to freeze and behave like this.
I'm not sure if it's only isolated to the universal counting leader, but if I delete it from my project, save and reopen, everything runs smoothly!
Anybody have this issue or know why this is happening since the update?
    Thanks.

  • Media encoder freezes after 4.2 update installation

    Hey guys,
I´m in a middle of a huge project and I updated premiere and media encoder to a new 4.2 version. After that I can´t get anything out of premiere cause every time I try to export media encoder totally freezes after couple of seconds after I´ve pushed start queue. I can´t do nothing but to force to quit. It happens while it is still loading the project and haven´t started to encode yet. What´s the problem here?
I´m on mac pro 8-core and cs4 master collection

How long did you wait before force quitting?  If it was only a minute or two, try longer.
If that doesn't work, then remove all of the old queue items from the AME.
Then save your Pr project, and clean the media cache database from Edit | Preferences.
    Reboot and try again.
If all of that fails, then trash your Pr and AME preferences and try again.

  • H.264 multi-pass re-encoded video freezes after 10 sec (consistently)

When I take an already encoded H.264/AAC movie and re-encode (to enable the fast-internet streaming option) with the same settings with the "Best Quality (multi-pass)" option enabled, the resulting video freezes after 10 seconds, though the sound continues through the rest of the movie. I have tried this on 3 different movies with the same results. When I change the encoding to "Faster encode (single-pass)", the resulting movie's video frame does NOT freeze at 10 seconds and plays normally. I can reproduce this on any already encoded H.264 movie I wish with the same results.
I have Mac OS X 10.4.8 (PowerPC), 1GB RAM, QT 7.1.3 PRO. I also happen to have DivX 6.2.5 Pro and Flip4Mac 2.1.0.33 Player Pro (though I was not converting anything using those codecs).
Any suggestions? SEEMS to be a QT bug to me... Any one else experiencing this

No need to jump through all of the re-encoding hoops to enable "fast start".
Open the file (whatever format) and use "Save As".
This will place your file into a .mov "container" but the fast start properties will be restored.

  • Kopete: strange encoding problem after sending cyrillic letters

I'm currently having a strange problem with kopete. If the message sent contains german umlauts like "äöü" the receiver only sees cyrillic letters "дць".
The problem occurred after sending a text from a website containing a russian sentence.
If I send german umlauts and cyrillic letters in the same message all letters are displayed correctly on the receivers side. For example "дць äöü".
The global encoding for the corresponding icq identity is set to "windows-1252". I already tried other encodings like "utf8" but that didn't work (same result).
Additionally I tried to set the encoding for the specific user which by default is set to "predefined". Again the same result.
Finally I deleted kopeterc and kopete.notifyrc (from .kde4/share/config/) and history etc from .kde4/share/apps/kopete and reconfigured kopete with the icq account but again with the same effect.
Does anybody know where kopete or kde is saving the wrong encoding settings or is there anything else I can try?

The problem is gone. Kopete suddenly was working again after copying and pasting a text from a website and sending it to one of my contacts.

  • Premiere CC exports crash, media encoder CC crashes, after effects cs6 to cc modify composition

    Hi,
we are working in a project formed by many episodes of 1 hour each episode.
We have also many clips that come to premiere from after effects throught dynamic link (masks that hide unwanted elements, this kind of things).
The point is that we decided to update to cc from cs6, and the hell's been unleashed...
We have converted premiere projects cs6 to CC, as well as each premiere project file, and in many clips that came from after effects the work has been alterated, we see fly's that we got hide, some other clips the image is totally distorted by something that before was a mask...many of the work is ruined...and it's not easy to detect because sometimes are little parts of image. It's like somebody's been playing with our compositions...if we reopen the cs6 version just before converting to cc everything's fine, after it's chaos... the problem is that we return to cs6 we will lose a month and could be critical...
When whe export in differents formats, (720p, 1080i, .mov, mpeg2, mpeg4, blu ray...) we have success 1 time each 10 (normally it get's stuck in a image or it pops up an error message of premiere), and if it succeed exporting, the export has strange artifacts like green or purple parts of the image that we cannot see in the timeline, and that disappear if we export only the affected part of the timeline...
None of this things happened before with cs6, somebody has the same problem? is there a solution? We are really disappointed with CC, it's very unpleasant to start to see flyes ant stuff that we had hided, especially because the changes are not evident and hard to detect.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 and Media Encoder CS6 Color shift on export

    Hello,
I am working on an early 2008 Mac Pro with 2 X 3.2 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon Processors 32 GB of RAM a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB Graphics Card and I am running OS X 10.8.2.
I have the updated Version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and Media Encoder CS6 through the awesome Subscription program that Adobe has started.
My footage is shot with the Canon 1D Mark IV shot 1920X1080 at 24 FPS
I am importing the camera files and then exporting them after I cut them up in to Quicktime Pro Res 422 HQ files
With the technical explination out of the way here is my problem. I have color right from the camera files that I like. and with out doing any thing to change the color I export the footage and get a dramatic color shift. The exported file looks desaturated and slightly green.
I have tried using Media Encoder CS6 to export my footage and that has the same result.
I started my career as a photographic retoucher and use photoshop and light room constantly so I am pretty confident that i know color. I also calibrate my Lacie 526 and Lacie 324i montiors monthly as well as have a sensor that will slightly shift the profile depending on the time of day.
I have attached three screen shots that show the color shift exactly. Now what I need is a solution. What I am not seeing is color settings for Premiere. I am totally open to any suggestions on what I might be doing incorrectly.

I've been doing this for a few years now, and have come to some conclusions. Basically, the difference between still photography and video is like the difference between playing the trumpet and the sax. What you bring to the sax from playing trumpet is your ability to read music, what you know about composition, blending while playint with others, ect. But playing trumpet tells you nothing about how to physically play a sax. So it is with still photography and video.
For starters, your carefully calibrated computer monitor is just that, a computer monitor. It doesn't display the correct working space for video. What you need for WYSIWYG in video is a monitor that can show you the Rec.709 working space. Rec.709 has a different gamut, a different gamma, probably a different white point (D65), different phosphor colors, etc., etc., etc. Enought differences that it's difficult to make a computer monitor that can successfully display Rec.709. Yet there are a couple of computer monitors that can do this (a few Eizos, one HP). The vast majority of people doing serious color correction work in video use a production monitor for just this reason.
But a production monitor isn't enough. You also have to make sure that the signals you're sending the production monitor are correct. There's a sub-industry making signal converters for signals from NLE video cards (usually RGB based) -> signals for production monitors (usually YUV based).
That said, it is certainly possible to get a very good match between your NLE suite and a DVD / BD as displayed on an HDTV. But it's not as simple or easy as a calibrtated computer monitor for still photography use.
This is probably part of your problem. But Quicktime is probably the root of it. Quicktime is, well, I guess the polite way of saying it is that Quicktime is problematic. It gives all kinds of problems. Most people have abandoned it. You should too.

  • Premiere freezes when opening Help PDF file

When I click help in the help menu, the PDF opens right away, but then Premiere freezes for about 40 seconds. I suspect it is trying to download some Internet content, but this behavior needs to be fixed. My Mac Pro is connected to an AirPort Extreme via wifi, but this network is not connected to the Internet, it's just for internal file transfers. If I turn off the computer's wifi, this problem does not happen. I get the same symptoms with Premiere, After Effects, an Media Encoder. All of the help PDFs are downloaded already and show current in Adobe Help.

    Hi, spookybathtub,
Just confirming that you're running Premiere Pro CS6?
    Thanks,
