Premiere & Media Encoder show Quicktime presents but fail on encode

My Premiere & Media Encoder CS6 both show Quicktime presents but fail each time I try to encode directly to Quicktime with .mp4 codec.
Quicktime is installed on my machine, which runs Windows. I'm using Adobe Creative Cloud CS6.
Goal: to use the Quicktime format and sucessfully encode video sequences as .mp4 files at various settings.

BUMP! To this thread as I am still having an issue encoding QuickTime files.  Below is a quick recap with some new information.
All testing is done on a system running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 with Adobe Media Encoder CS6, CC, and CC 2014 (same results across all versions).
The failure occurs after a few seconds of attempted rendering, with only the following message from AME:
"Encoding Failed
Export Error
Error compiling movie. Unknown error."
Important note:  This problem DOES NOT exist on a similar system running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.  So it would appear the problem may be OS specific to Windows 7 Professional (although there are a few forum threads with people experiencing the problem on Macs as well).
That said, here's what happens on the Win7 Pro system:
QuickTime movie encoding fails at 1920x1080 both from a dynamically linked Premiere timeline and from a rendered file.
TESTS:
1) H264 video with AAC audio FAILED
2) H264 video with uncompressed audio FAILED
3) Uncompressed video with AAC audio FAILED
4) Sorenson video with uncompressed audio FAILED
5) Uncompressed 10bit YUV .mov with uncompressed audio WORKED!!!!!
Of course, a :30 second television commercial rendered this way is near 5GB and is not the way most broadcast stations want a file delivered.
To sum up:  all of the HD presets and custom settings for QuckTime with any sort of compression, fail to render on systems running Windows 7 Professional.
Here is a link to a similar issue, but the solution listed did not work in my case.
Quicktime encoding using x264 encoder failing in AME 6.0.2.81 and Mac OS 10.8.2

Any insight is welcome.

I'm working on a large project (60minutes long).  I'm ready to export.  The project takes about half hour to load into AME but it doesnt go any further.  It says Encoding on the status but the que time is yet to start.  An hour later stil no change.
I tryed multiple formats and resolutions no change.
Why is this and how do i resolve the issue?

    Many many thanks.

Update.  I left AME to encode overnight and it actually started to encode.  It got to 1:51seconds of encoding and then went no further.  Any help with this people, the deadline is Friday and im lost for ideas

  • I have a new ipad. It is connected to wifi (virgin media) and shows 3 bars but server won't respond

I have a new ipad which worked well with wifi until we moved house. We now have virgin media and although the wifi shows 3 bars on my ipad I can't connect to the internet or access the app store. Any suggestion?

Despite the three bars you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Video plays fine on QuickTime 7 but fails on QuickTime X

I have a mov file and it plays fine on my old mbp's QuickTime 7. However, on my new mbp's QuickTime X, I get jumbled video playback. Like a bunch of mixed up pixels. Sound is fine, however.
Why would there be a difference? Shouldn't QuickTime X be better than QuickTime 7?

Harddrive. This is the file I have -

I uploaded it to YouTube and it works fine there too.

  • Media Online in Premiere but Offline in Encoder - CS4

I am currently working on a project in Premiere Pro CS4. The project is one mpeg-4 file split up into multiple parts. I can view the video perfectly fine in Premiere, but when I encode the video in Adobe Media Encoder, the "Media Offline" placeholder is displayed over the video. I have never had this issue before, and all of my other videos are encoding fine when tested. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I have tried various methods to get this to work, and nothing is working yet.

    Hi -
This would occur if you rendered the timeline prior to taking the actual media off-line. You are likely seeing the rendered clips playback from your render scratch disk. You can't export a quicktime of the timeline because it will try to find the original media files to create that exported media.
What you can do, however, is play the timeline out to an appropriate recording device (like a DV camera if the original footage was DV) and record the output. Then, capture that recording. You'll now have the timeline media as a clip, that you can re-edit.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adobe Media Encoder refuses to encode for Quicktime

    Dear all,
I have huge headaches with Premiere and I hope you can help me out! I have done a couple of fairly basic Premiere project (less than 5 minutes, all with jpegs, not real videos - it's for a slideshow to be projected using a video projector). Using Premiere CS4 is relatively easy but I have the following issue:
Everytime I try to enconde a project to Quicktime using AME (version 4.1.0), AME launchs itself, the project appears, ME launchs the encoding which inevitably ends up in just 2 seconds! On AME side, it appears there is no error (status bar is green) but of course, nothing was encode and no movie file (.mov) ever appears.
The thing I noticed is that if I encode to Quicktime using one of the a DV Pro preset, AME encodes without any problem but if I want to use a specific size or one of the codec not covered by DV Pro (such as .H264 or MPEG4), then the same problem inevitably arrives.
    For info, I m using
    - Windows Vista 64bits (Home Premium SP1) on a Intel Core i7 CPU (2.93 Mhz) with 12GB of RAM and plenty of Hard Disk space
    - AME version 4.1.0 and Premiere Pro CS4 (also 4.1.0)
I would really appreciate your help
    Best
    Eric

Unfortunately or maybe otherwise...it's not entirely a PC world as Jim sees it because Jims world revolves around his  comfortable  "known world" of DV and I-frame media. I would suggest his clients are not as demanding as my own who have moved forward from SD and DV even if they were ever there in the first place.
I integrate my suites with professional post productions houses and they all use Macs in the processes that I require... so it becomes part of my workflow by neccessity. (FWIW : broadcast television brand commercials  shot HD on 35mm film or HD file-based media workflows)
For the record.  I am not a fan of MACs myself but what ever..I need to get the job done so I get on a do it...
I  also integrate with professional creative artists on MACs and PCs. There are no issues in this regard that can not be easily managed.
I have no problems exporting HD Qt (.mov) from my PC in AME.
There are no issues of quality or process (apart from the know "gamma thing" and I can accomodate that in my own export process).
I have no idea why you can not export to QT but if you need to... you need to ..so you need to do a few experiments to get to the base of the issue.
Could be hardware, software or operator error...

  • Premiere/Media Encoder can't render/export after 10.9.3 update.  Any Answers?

My computer ran the OSX 10.9.3 update a couple nights ago, and suddenly Premiere/Media Encoder can not export.  It just freezes up the computer until I cold crash it.  Same if I try to render a timeline in Premiere.  This issue just started yesterday.  It still persists after wiping my hard drive and doing a clean install of everything, which of course just put 10.9.3 back on there.  This issue does not exist on my laptop that has not been updated yet.  However, I have enough work and not enough time to be trying to edit everything on my laptop while this get worked out.  Has anyone else got this issue in the past day or two?

    Hey Todd,
I had two active projects that suddenly could not render/export.  One is quite massive and has RG Colorista quite a bit throughout it, however I could not export a timeline without any plugins on it.  The other project is also clean of plugins.  Then I started a new project and it went out just fine until I put the RG plugin on it.  But here is my newest glitch.  I just made a change to an old show and all of my titles done in Title Tool were resized and positioned.  Blown up and shifted to the right.  If I take the same file and put it on my laptop which still has not got 10.9.3, they are just fine.  Scaled properly and centered between title safe.  But now on 10.9.3 they are blown up and going off the screen.

  • Premiere, Media Encoder and Flash Cue Points - bug?

I've been encoding a number of FLV On2 VP6 videos recently and using the new Media Encoder. For this project we need flash cue points (nav and event). I've discovered some weird things in Media Encoder - it's been duplicating cue points (or maybe the export from Premiere is buggy with cue points?).
I've seen the first couple of cue points getting duplicated with the first letter of the name capitalised and moved a frame on in time - very weird.
    Anyone else seen this behaviour?
    Paul.

OK, I think I've found out why - not a bug - user misunderstanding!!!  (although tricky to find!)
Some of my source footage was created in After Effects. It turns out that there were a couple of cue points in the AE comp that had similar names to the cue points in Premiere - the AE comp was saved out to an AVI (with metadata enabled I think).
Premiere wasn't seeing this metadata and the cue points, but Media Encoder was (and it couldn't be deleted in ME - just kept coming back).
So - moral of the story - be careful with metadata!!!
I guess that Premiere should really show this embedded data though?
    Paul.

  • Premiere media encoder

I want to encode my film in a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 5.1 audio to a mp4-file. I tried to use an AVC codec (H264). There you can export the audio in 5.1 (aac! no ac3) This definitely works for shorter films, but my film is 80min long and after a 12h encoding premiere CS3 crashed two times while multiplexing. I still have the encoded audio (aac) and video file (m4v) on my computer, but I did not find a program capable to multiplex these two separate streams to just one mp4- file! Any suggestions?

  • For some reason, I can't compile a video or image sequence anymore with Premiere, Media Encoder, or After Effects... All CC

I have been working on a video for awhile now and I've recently noticed that my .flv export format has been removed from my choice of encoders. I export from Poser Pro Game Dev to Png Image Sequence. I organise a cam angle in After Effects...I re render out to a png image sequence.. continuing to hold quality. Then when a scene is done; I use Premiere to export a 1080 by 720 wmv format 29.97. But now I can't encode from Premere, Media Encoder, or Affter Effects. Please ...Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Files show as present in iTunes and on iPod, but are not actually found on iPod

I use OverDrive Media to download audiobooks to my Ipod Touch (gen5?).  I put books that are downloaded as an mp3 into a playlist and there hasn't been a problem.  Since last week, any audiobooks I download are showing as present in iTunes and according to iTunes they are also on my iPod, but when I go to play them on my iPod, there is just an empty playlist.  I updated to the latest iTunes version yesterday hoping that might fix it, but it has not.
I had some issued downloading an album from the iTunes Store last week and now this has become a problem.  Related?  How do I fix this?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • 24p to 29.97i in Premiere, Media Encoder or After Effects?

Sorry to bring up a much discussed topic, but as I looked on the web and in the Adobe forums I got sort of lost in the tangle of discussion about how to best take a 24p sequence in Premiere and convert it to 29.97i for broadcast. I feel like this is something that Premiere might be able to do? Or maybe Adobe Media Encoder? I generally see from other forums and posts that this is done in After Effects, an app I have never even opened. So if the answer is that I need to use AE, then I'm hoping for some detailed guidance or perhaps a tutorial video? Though as I say that I know that certainly sounds rather demanding
Any comments or assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks much,
    Bradley

    Hey brightness,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you can't install or uninstall QuickTime. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
