Premiere Pro 2.0 Installation Disk Won't Read

I had to re-format my hard drive and when re-installing Premiere Pro 2.0 I found that my installation disk will not read in my DVD drive!  Nothing is wrong with my drive.  It reads all other DVDs just fine.  I get nothing in the directory like the disk isn't there.  It's not a disk problem because they have been stored in excellent condition, and not only will the installation disk not run or open, but neither will the accompanying Total Training Video Workshop disks.  I am completely dumbfounded.  When I purchased this program about 6 years ago off Ebay I had the old 1.5 version on my computer, and had to enter the old registration key along with the new one for 2.0.  Is it possible I have an UPGRADE-ONLY copy here instead of the actual full program?  It's in the shiny new box and all and doesn't say anything on it about it being an upgrade, so it seems legit.  And if it was, in fact, just an upgrade-only program, would that cause the disks not to be read at all in the drive??  I need help on this one because I make my living off editing, and I'm sitting on 3 projects for clients that I cannot deliver on time to get paid, nor have I been able to afford to buy a new CS version.

I have about 8 different burners on my systems, and some will read DVD's better than others will. On my workstation, I have one LG and one Plextor. The LG does the best, and when it fails, the Plextor usually can read. When this happens, I just do a Copy from the drive that can read the disc, to the other drive, using Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden blank media. If neither can read, I have six others to try. Sometimes, it's just the burner.
One little hint would be to make sure that your burner's firmware is updated to the very latest. That can improve the burner's ability to read from a slightly damaged disc.
Otherwise, contact Adobe. For many programs, they sell replacement media. Do not know if there are version limitations, but one call should give you what is available.
Good luck,

  • Bootcamp - Windows installation disk won't read

I have a late-2011, 13 inch MacBook Pro and I am running OS X 10.9.3 with all the latest updates. I am trying to use Bootcamp to runs windows but the windows disk isn't be read by my laptop. I run Bootcamp, it downloads the latest support software but when I put the windows installation disk in; it starts to spin up, makes some noises like it is being read, then it ejects the disk. Anybody have this problem, or now a way around it?

  • Dreamweaver CS6:  Installation disk won't allow a change in the location of the installation folder

First, I hope the moderators will cut me some slack for making a duplicate posting.  The comments below were posted in the "Creative Suites" community.  I just noticed that there is a "Dreamweaver" community.  I feel the issues I've raised below are more relevant to the latter.
I recently purchased a Dreamweaver CS6 installation disk and have a valid registration code.  The Adobe website has recognized this code as valid.
I started-out  by having the installation disk install into a folder on a high capacity (0.5 tb) external drive.  This was done while my Gateway PC was still working properly.  I did a duplicate installation onto this hard drive (into a separate folder) to accommodate any work I wanted to do on a Dell laptop I also own.  For a few days things seemed to work ok on both computers.  Then the cursor on my Gateway stopped moving.  Several changes of mice failed to resolve the problem.  I've written-off my Gateway as "dead."  However the Dreamweaver CS6 installation MAY (I can't remember) be on a "local" folder on my Gateway and I am concerned I will have trouble installing Dreamweaver on the replacement I've purchased.  I understand one is limited to 2 installations.  If needed, can I purchase a license for a third installation?  And what might that cost?
After turning-off my Gateway I then went to my Dell laptop to try to work with Dreamweaver there.  I felt it was best to install on a "local" folder so I deleted all the Dreamweaver software from the folders on my external drive.  Unfortunately the installation disk is still "pointed" to the folders on my external drive.  To make matters worse I am now getting an error message which indicates I need to install into a folder on the "local" drive of my Dell laptop.  But the installation disk won't allow me to change the path.  On the installation disk the "path" to my external drive is faded-out and it will not allow me to delete and type-in a new path.
I've spent what, to me, are big bucks on this Dreamweaver disk.  It's the only website building software that seemed to get consistently good reviews. However, for me, Dreamweaver is becoming a nightmare!  I'm very much of a novice at website building.  I don't know how, in the world, I will be able to a)  Create something, and then  b)  Get Dreamweaver to put it onto what is now a blank webpage.  I recently got "Dreamweaver CS6 The Missing Manual" and "Dreamweaver CS6 For Dummies."  So far I haven't been able to find anything, in either of these two books, which addresses the issues I've raised here.
    Somebody--please help!!
Don't know if my screen name will show up.  So my name is JACK, near Old Faithfull.

Have you tried calling Adobe Customer service? They can deactivate one of your installations so that you can install and run on a new system. And perhaps they can help with your other problem, or send you to a tech support rep who can.
With regard to your use of DW, I'd strongly suggest that you take advantage of this downtime by learning as much HTML and CSS as you can absorb. Multiple sittings would be helpful. The more you know about those two, the easier DW will be for you when you eventually get it going.

  • Error installing Premiere Pro CS4 - "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please contact Adobe Customer Service"

I had to replace my hard drive and so I had to re-install Premiere Pro CS4. I tried to do that with the files I had downloaded before, but the install failed and gave me the error message "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please contact Adobe Customer Service".
I assumed that the files I downloaded had become corrupt, so I logged on and re-downloaded the ADBEPPROCS4_LS7.7z and ADBEPPROCS4_LS7.exe files. I ran ADBEPPROCS4_LS7.exe and it also failed and gave me the same error message. I tried another download from a different page and got the same error again.
Can anyone suggest what I can do to get my program installed?

  • Premiere Pro 6.5 Installation Problems

So I'm having a problem with my CS5 and CS6.5 Premiere Pro. All of it installs correctly so it says, but every time I try to open 6.5 it starts and then quits. I installed it on a wiped clean computer. I work at a non-profit and we have older computer but it's running on a 2009 iMac:
Processor: 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo
    Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I know very little about the internal workings of a computer, but there's celtx on this computer and that's about it. There isn't much else on the hard drive. I tried CS6, and found out that it isn't compatible with my iMac, so I got the 6.5 and the CS5, and I've tried it on two different computers, both with the same processor and memory as well 2009 iMac.
Any help would be great, I haven't found anything that was helpful, just to wipe my computer clean, which it already was when I received it.
Please help! I've been working on this problem for awhile now and there aren't any answers.

Where did you buy the CS5 version?  Like I said, there is no such thing as Premiere Pro CS6.5.  The only "6.5" that ever existed was the old Premiere version (before there was "Premiere Pro").  If your purchased product contains a Premiere Pro version 6.5, then you have been sold a counterfeit copy of Premiere Pro and you should get your money back ASAP.
If you have Premiere (not Pro) version 6.5 (not CS6.5), then you can try to activate CS5.  However, I don't hold out much hope because even if Adobe allowed an old Premiere-6.5-to-Premiere-Pro-CS5 upgrade at one point, it was likely a limited-time offer and the current activation servers may not allow it.  If you were sold your copy of CS5 with only Premiere 6.5 as the source of validation, you should still try to get your money back, because at this point in time it's likely not a legitimate source of CS5 activation.

  • OS X installation disk won't work

my brother recently gave me his old 2010 MacBook pro 13 inch. I went into disk utility and erased the disk so it would be factory reset. The problem now is that when I go to reinstall OS X Mavericks it's not available. I do have an installation disk which I had from my own MacBook which was stolen years ago but when I try to use it nothing happens. I've gone into the start up disk and the only available option is the installation disk. When I choose that it restarts and then comes to a screen that tells me to restart and that keeps happening. Is there any way to install an operation system? I feel like I've tried everything at this point for something that I feel should be so simple. Your answers are greatly appreciated.

So that disk is gray? Does it say 10.6.3 or maybe 10.6.4?
""Mac OS X cannot start up from this disk."
Open up Disk Utility and select partition.
Here's a good guide to walk you through the procedure:
    https://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/index.cfm?page=HDDppcintelformat/HDDppcin telformat.html
Sounds like the GUID partition scheme is messed up.

  • MacBook Pro without an installation disk.

So, the new mountain lion MacBook Pro did not come with an installation disk, if you need to make a complete backup
and reinstall every application, etc from scratch, what do you do?

Welcome to the brave new world. A parting "gift" from Steve, who loathed optical media in the last part of his life.
There are two choices. The official one is to concoct a bootable recovery partition on a USB stick. Essentially, you transfer what the drive already has for recovery purposes onto separate media in case the hard drive bites the dust completely:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4848
But we devious Mac hackers went one better. Why settle for a piddly recovery disk that does not have a full system installer when you can have it all? So we go thru the motions of "installing" ML afresh, for which you wheedle the full installer from Apple. But then we use that to create a USB stick that has the whole cat in it and does not need to go thru the painfully slow download again. Details here: http://www.macworld.com/article/1165337/create_a_bootable_lion_install_drive_for _newer_macs.html and to simplify the creation of the stick itself, there's LionDiskMaker (that also works with the mountain cat): http://liondiskmaker.com

  • Premiere Pro CC - start up disk shrinks to nothing and have to close program.

When working on a project on an external hard drive, why does my start up disk, my desktop storage memory, shrink to almost nothing until I close the Premiere Pro CC? It has consistently been doing this. All scratch disks are set to the external hard drive. Are there preview and render files that are temporarily being stored on my desktop that I don't know about? I start out with 30gigs and 5 hours later I'm down to 8gigs. And then…And 3….And…You get the picture.

Are you saying that you only have 30 gigabytes of space on your OS/Applications disk drive or is the about the RAM usage?
Yes, there are files written on your OS/Applications drive,   On my Windows 8 laptop this is the location
C:\Users\YOURpcNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files.  These are not temporary files though and should not disappear with a reboot, but they can be deleted to make more room.

  • Premiere Pro CC 7.2.1 won't import layers of an AI file

I know in the past Premiere Pro wouldn't import a layered AI file, but is that still the case? I can get a layered PSD file to import layers as normal. When I try to import a layered AI file, I don't get the "Import Layered File" dialog as I do with the PSD files; I get a flattened image. Is this a setting I've overlooked or is this STILL not a feature?
    Thanks for your help!

No layered import for AI files.
But when imported in Premiere and you want to change something hit Edit Original and the file will open in layers in Illustrator.

  • Updated Premiere Pro CC and now it won't launch; was working before

I decided to update my Premiere Pro CC and I haven't gotten past the splash page launch ever since.  Now, all I get is the splash page for a second and then the Windows alert that it has stopped working. There's not even an "initalizing" log running across the bottom of the graphic. Meanwhile, Audition CC will still open without a problem. As I said, Premiere Pro was working perfectly today before the update.
    Things I've tried:
    updating drivers
    Windows updates
    All compatability modes
Deleting program, downloading again and re-installing
Any suggestions?  I'm stumped!  I'm on Windows 7, by the way.

Type Crash on Launch into the forum search.  You'll get all the known fixes.

  • Installation Disk Won't mount

I am trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 from the DVD installation disk. Why is it being ejected before mounting? Other disks mount fine.

It's possible you have only a CD drive. Apple has an exchange program to swap your DVD for CDs.

  • Premiere Pro CC (7.2.2) won't close on OSX mavericks

I've already tried reinstalling it once. If I click "Premiere Pro" in the top menu then go to "Quit", nothing happens. "Close project" doesn't do anything either, but luckily saving still works fine.
I have to force quit it to make it close, and when I do this error briefly pops up:
So what are my options? Running Mavericks as title states and have already tried reinstalling it, so please don't waste time suggesting that as the solution. Thanks in advance

Fixed it by renaming the profile folder, see instructions here - Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down! Frustrated.
