Premiere Pro 2  memory problem

Hello.
I am requesting assistance in resolving what seems to be a very annoying problem.  I am in the process of trying to finalize a demo reel and I'm using some .avi clips which I rendered out myself.  The resolution for each .avi is  640x360  and there are 6 videos (no audio) in total with an average size of 160 MB.
When these videos were imported to PPro, I immediately received a warning "Prem Pro running very low on system memory".  I deleted all the current videos mentioned and imported some completed videos I made a few months ago. When I tried scrubbing back and forth with these new videos, there was no problem what so ever. I shut down PPro and launched it again. I imported some movies, short videos, images etc. and again no problem at all. Everything was running smoothly and cleanly.  Once I imported the latest videos, the error message appears immediately.
Just to provide some additional information regarding the renders.  I rendered them all out in .jpg stills and then in Flash, I created .avi files (the same way I did for all previous projects).  I cleared out all previous project files from the PPro directories and deleted all files that are no longer needed.
I'm at a complete loss as to what is causing this problem.
If anybody can please provide suggestions or even a solution, I would greatly appreciate any help you are able to provide.
Thank you.

Can't help with P2... from the P3 user guide (available as a PDF on the install disc)
All project settings apply to the whole project, and most can’t be changed after a project is created.
Presets  are groups of project settings. Adobe Premiere Pro comes with several groups of presets installed: HDV,DV-NTSC (North American standard), DV-PAL (European standard), DV-24P, and Mobile & Devices. These
contain the correct project settings for the most typical project types. When creating a new project, you can either
select from among the standard presets or customize a group of project settings and save the customized group as a
custom preset. If you want full control over almost all the project’s parameters, you must start a new project and
customize its presets.

    Welcome to the forum.
Looks like you are on an iMac. To help others help you, can you post the specs of your system?
I was about to post links to a bunch of troubleshooting articles, but they were written for PC's so I dobut that any would apply here.

  • Premiere Pro CC2014 - Graphic problem makes my machine freezes

    Hi guys,
I use Adobe Premiere Pro since the subscriptions began.
When I did the update to CC 2014, an issue starts and this freaking me out until now.
I don't have a clue for what makes it starts but in a common edit day, after editing about 1 hour... the software starts to show graphic erros (like you can see in the pictures attached). After this, about 20 minutes with the problem my machine freezes.
It only happens with Premiere Pro. I use all other softwares from Adobe without any problems.
    What do you think about?

    Hi Duca,
Sorry to hear about your issues.

We don't know much about your system. Can you fill us in? FAQ: What information should I provide when ask... | Adobe Community
Typically, this is a Mac only issue on OS X 10.9 and OS X 10.10. It can occur on any Mac containing a NVIDIA GPU, but most commonly on MacBook Pro laptops with a NVIDIA GPU installed.
Typically occurs when using Premiere Pro with other GPU intensive applications.
Other GPU intensive applications that are popular with Apple users include Google Chrome, Apple App Store, Apple iTunes, and Spotify.
Some editors use these applications concurrently with Premiere Pro. Likely, many are unaware that these applications can trigger the issue sooner or even cause your OS to crash.
Using a lot of GPU accelerated effects in Premiere Pro can also trigger this issue
If you are using only a normal amount of GPU accelerated effects and working long hours, it can trigger the issue.
If this is the computer you have, and this sounds like your issue, do the following:
    Restart the computer
    Start Premiere Pro
    Choose File > Project Settings
In the General tab under the category Video Rendering and Playback, choose Renderer > Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL). If Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) is not available, switch the Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration Software Only.
    Click OK
A dialog box will appear, which reads “Video Rendering and Playback Settings Changes.” Read the text, and then click the Delete Previews button. Note: any previously rendered previews will have to be rendered once more in the new renderer with a render command in the Sequence menu.
Premiere Pro should now operate without the screen problems.
Let us know if this works for you.
    Thanks,

  • Premiere pro CC (2014) problems with audio on .mts files

    Hi,
This is a recent problem I have been having when trying to play certain clips in Premiere Pro CC (2014), I import the entire private folder and some of the clips play as normal and others seem to have skipping audio. This causes the second half of the clip to not have any audio in it at all because it is bunched up at the beginning. I don't even know where to start with trying to fix the problem, the only thing I have done is re import the files and put them in new folders to change the destination it has been imported from.
Any advice would be extremely helpful as it is mostly stopping me from getting on with any work,
    Thanks!

    Hi amber1992,
I will suggest you to go ahead and clean the Media cache and Media cache files folders manually.
MAC OS: Click on Go menu>Go to Folders>type ~/Library and click ok. This will open User Library folder and then navigate to Application Support>Adobe>Common>Media Cache and Media Cache files. Delete all the files from these folders.
Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common or you can Click on Start button and in search type %appdata% and open Roaming folder>Adobe>Common>Media Cache and Media Cache files.
Once done launch the project again and check.
    Regards,

  • Premiere Pro CC MXF problems

    Hi there,
I'm currently working on Premiere Pro CC. We've imported all of our clips from our C300 from a hard drive that was shipped to us. The folder structure in intact and the clips have been working fine, up until now.
I opened up my project today and I noticed a few clips were offline, they won't relink but instead give me a "generic error" message. The weird part is that there can be 2 clips from the same folder/file structure and one will work and one won't. Even weirder, we back up all of our media to two different folders. The folder we keep our working media on is getting thrown offline, the folder we archive everything... imports fine.
We also noticed that, even though we imported from the Media Browser, the .mxf extension appears. This hasn't been the case in any of our other projects. It's a recent addition. Not sure if that's part of the problem but it's weirdly timed to our offline problem. It looks like we dragged our footage from the finder but we did not.
Any ideas as to what's going on? One thought we had was that we recently upgraded to premiere 2014 but due to conversion issues and generally bugs, we decided to downgrade back to CC temporarily. We've completely uninstalled the 2014 suite and trashed all preferences.

    Hi Matt,
I know that some other customers have complained about the quality of exports, as well. I have heard that 2 pass VBR might give bad quality. Can you try an encode with 1 Pass VBR instead? The quality should be just fine with 1 Pass VBR.

  • Premiere Pro CC rendering problems : can't see my medias anymore

    Hello,
I started my first project on Premiere Pro CC, but it looks like PP CC isn't working well concerning rendering, I think I'm going to use my Premiere Pro CS6 again...
Sometimes, the rendering simply stops working : I can't see my output view anymore, only the "Media Pending". Removing media cache, rendering files, no effect. Closing the project and opening it again, still the same. Sometimes I can get the files back by selecting another rendering Engine, but after a few minutes, I loose my medias again.
I've seen the other post concerning preview files lost and the "empty sequence solution', but mine is different : I can't simply get the view back.
The other problem is that when I close PP CC, and try to launch it again, If first have to manually stop the PP CC process, which seems to be crashed as it doesn't completly stop.

Ok, I just met a new problem, with the "unexpected MUTE" bug.
No need to answer my previous problem, I've decided to stop using Premiere Pro CC, which needs to be seriously fixed by Adobe teams. more than 60 euros per month for such a quality is a SHAME.
Let's switch back to PP CS6.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 permissions problem

I've purchased membership in the Abobe Creative Cloud. All the apps work except Premiere Pro. When I'm logged into my normal account and try to start the app, I get this message:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 codec problem

Hey all.  Here's the problem.  At work I use Premiere CS3 on an old Edius box that has Canopus codecs.  When I archive a final copy, I use a DVCPRO HD codec, specifically the Canopus SD50/DVHD codec, to an AVI file.
At home I have a new copy of CS5 on a new machine.  I brought home some of these AVI files from work that used the Canopus SD50/DVHD codec.  I could not open them up at home on anything.  I went and found the codec and installed it.  Now I can open the files with Media Player no problem, but I cannot import them into Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder, or After Effects.  The result is audio and not video.
Any suggestions that don't include re-exporting everything using a different codec?
    Thanks!

Any suggestions that don't include re-exporting everything using a different codec?
Unless there is a 64-bit version of the codec, you're limited to doing just that. You might be able to drop $160 on DVCPRO HD: MainConcept. No guarantees that'll even work though.
I'd just convert them to Lagarith Lossless Video Codec or Ut Video Codec Suite; they're lossless, free, and will both work in Premiere Pro CS5.

  • Premiere Pro Exported Audio Problem

I'm using Premiere Pro to edit the videos I just shot and I used the DeNoiser effect to get rid of the background hissing from my mic. The problem is when I export the movies the first few seconds of each clip have the background hiss and then it goes away. This happens sometimes.  It would be better to do your audio work in Audition.

  • Premiere pro cc cloud problems, after installing photoshop I lost all my premiere files!!!!

    Hi,
after installing photoshop, I lsot all my premiere pro data, even autosafe and stuff. I do back up but I didn;t for past 4 days and lsot hours of work. Do you have any idea what is the problem? I have single program subscription and use photoshop trial.

Yes, an Archive and Install will not erase the disk or your files. If you use the option to preserve user accounts and preferences those will be transferred into the newly created system. However, your existing system is a failed installation so if you do another Archive and Install it cannot transfer your user account because it is not in the existing system. Plus you will need sufficient free space on the hard drive for yet another system - about 6-8 GBs.
Once you backup your personal data and your Home folder, I would suggest you just erase the hard drive, reinstall OS X from scratch, then copy your Home folder backup to the newly installed system. These articles, How to get files from a previous home directory after Archive and Install and Mac OS X- How to recover a home folder (directory), explain the process. Although written for an Archive and Install scenario it is essentially the same procedure you would have to follow.
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the startup or source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
