Premiere Pro/Audition question

I am running Premiere Pro CS4 and Audition 2.0. I have some musical HD footage that I have loaded into PP. I would like to export only the audio, work on it in Audition and reimport into PP. The only audio only export option in Media is AAC (+/- Version 1 or 2) which Audition doesn't recognize.
Suggestions?

With File Associations in Windows, at least one user has bypassed Soundbooth for Audition, so that Edit in Audition works as it did back in the old PrPro 2.0 days. Not sure of what any ins-and-outs might be, and do not have CS4, but Edit in Audition works for other, even in CS4, with a little work in Control Panel.
Doing an Export to PCM/WAV, editing in Audition, doing a Save, and then an Import will work too.
Good luck,
Hunt

When I start Audition or open a video footage in Premiere Pro - I got a Runtime Error message. I have tried to re-install - but nothing helps.

    Hi Thomsen,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Please create a new account with administrator privileges on your system.
Try to launch Premiere Pro/Audition in that account.
It might be an issue with a specific user account.

  • Premiere Pro Beginner Question Re Gripper

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014, and am just learning the basics of moving panels.  One of the tutorials says to "click the gripper area in the upper left corner of the tab" and drag.  However, I don't see a gripper area on any panel's tab.  Maybe this isn't a problem since I'm able to drag the panel anyway.  Has the gripper been removed from the application?  Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.  I won't worry about it.  But the questions still remains - Did Adobe remove the gripper, or is my installation simply failing to show it?

  • Premiere Pro CS4 question on how to integrate into my website

    I have a simple question...
I used Premiere Pro CS4 to create an Avi video.
And now I need to integrate it within Dreamweaver CS4 to upload it to my website.
I never did it, so I don't have any idea on how to do it.
Could someone send me a tutorial or website with explanations.
    Thank you,

    Mathieu,
I can't answer for Premiere but if you have Encore you can use your avi file and export as flash flv file.
Encore includes menu templates for use with your flash file and varying sizes of flash export dimensions
depending upon how large you wish your final file and view to be.
Creates a folder with everything for you including index.html file and all you have to do is transfer the folder
to your website directory and hyperlink. Voila!
Sorry I can't point to any specific tutorials at the moment.

  • Premiere Pro & Audition tifferent time settings and cant edit anything correctly.

In Premiere Pro i put video, edit it in After Effects but audio in Audition.
When all is correct then i speed up video in Premiere pro but since audio speedup is shi-bad therefore i speed up in audition BUT ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET CORRECT TIME LINE IN PREMIERE TO PUT IN IN AUDIOTION.
In Audiotion Effect/Time and pitch/Strech and pitcher when i put same speed as in Premiere, Audition does the opposite.
Thats one fuc-bad bug/difference. Ok. So then ill try to hover with mouse video i just speed up lenght in Premiere. Hovering gives in, out point times and total time of clips leght. Right? Maybe.. couse if i put that lenght in Audidiotion as desired legnght, clicked save and ctrl+s alt+f4 and see in Premiere.. THEN IS SOMEHOW A LOT SHORTER THEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE.
In Idiotion i can change time settings and none helps.
In PremiProion i can change to audio time and that isnt corrent also.
Even just opening audio in Audition from Premiere without speed up they show whatever you change a different times.

Clip with Video/Audio i put in Premiere
    Divided
Video clip right click replace with After Effect composition.
and what i do in premiere doesnt matter couse lenght i ckeck in Premiere hovering over other example video (to see the lenght witch to write in desired Audition speed up couse in audition 115% speedup is speedown for any illogical reason)
So Original ivdeo/audiot i speed up to see leght hovering with mouse over
BUT in Audition it shows ( i dont care what it shows i just need to put correct value in percentage in Audition but since that also doesnt work i need to know correct leght)
SO how long video i need?
In premiere audio original leght witch is now open in audition
    OR in speedup settings
LOL WUT? Different duration bug also and doesnt change ANYTHING couse differences allways were for one clip- too long for other too short when using times from premiere.
SO 115 % eh? If we dont look then all is fine and i dont care what is in premiere in end and i dont need to read that duration is now too long. I would automatically just save export and then in hollywood only see something was wrong with this premieridiotion software but not my assumtions.
Ok since i saw that 115% in premiere now turnet too long..
I check whats wrong for some time. Then i try all again slow and i see there duration.
Ok i enter duration witch we now check in premiere (where else?, the clip is shortened in premiere)
    AND NOW ITS TOO SHORT
Heres time settings. NONE SHOW EXACT LENGHT OF AUDIO SAME AS IN PREMIERE
SO what are time FPS in Premiere? Whats the difference? Shouldnt they work at least on some standarts?
ps. also adding to bug of ****** Premiere audio speed up and solution bugs in Audition, here another bug- YOU CANT ENTER THIS CUSTOM FPS SPEED AS I SEE IN PREMIERE IT WANTS TO WORK WITH AUTOMATICALLY 24,81 fps
AND WHY WOULDNT THEY BE AUTOMATICALLY SYNCHRONIZED if audio is LINKED TO PREMIERE???

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Question

One of the requirements for Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is a 7200 rpm hard drive.  I have a notebook that I purchased less than a year ago with a 1 TB 5400 rpm hard drive.  I meet all of the other requirements listed on the Adobe site for the product except for the hard drive speed.  Will this product work with my notebook?  Thank you for your response.

It'll work.  Just not as well as it could with a better system.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 Question

    I have Premiere Pro 4.2.1.
I have figured out how to insert images made in photoshop into the video (easy enough). However, I was trying to figure out how to move it so it is in a different place on each frame. (For example, placing an object over another moving object and have it follow it through a series of frames).
I hope I explained this well enough, and I hope someone can explain how (If it is even possible with this program).
    Thanks
    Sean

    Thank you, worked great

  • Premiere Pro 2 question

    Hello.
It's been a while sinse I used Premiere Pro 2 and I'm in need of help to solve a problem.
I've created the movie I need and I'm in the process of finalizing it. I wish to create a MPEG2 film and there is one option I'm unable to find.
I'm using (or trying to use) media encoder.
File ->  export ->  adobe media encoder
When I click "export settings" and then select the format drop down, I should see (according to the manual) the following options:
    -mpeg1
    -mpeg1 vcd
    -mpeg2
    -mpeg2-dvd
    -mpeg2-svcd
With my drop down options, I only see the following:
    -macromedia flash
    -quicktime
    -realmedia
    -windowsmedia
I now don't know if I didn't select an option elsewhere or if this is the result of something else.  Can somebody please make a suggestion as to what is going on?
    Thank you.

    Derek,
I would like to post my video online and for some reason, once I've compiled it, I get a seperate video file and seperate audio file. Did I mess something up?
There are a couple of places to assign Multiplexing (muxing). The first will be on your General screen, where you will choose both Audio and Video. Then, go to the Multiplexing setting and choose DVD, and not None. That should get you one muxed file with both Audio and Video in one.
Lastly, my original video in premiere is 23 minutes long, but when finalized, it's down to 13 minutes!  Any ideas?
The only thing that comes to mind, that can alter the Duration is the WAB (Work Area Bar). One can Export just the WAB, or the full Sequence. The latter is what you want, and not the WAB. While it can cover the full Sequence, it's basic design is to allow one to Export just certain segments, set by the WAB.
    Hope that helps,
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere pro/ fcp question/ problem

I think I've gotten myself in a pickle:
I'm editing a short film for this guy and he only wants me to do the rough cut, and says this other editor will do the final cut on his computer. Problem is I am editing with Premiere Pro CS5 on Windows 7 and the guy is going to using Final Cut Pro 7. Is there any friendly way of exporting the FCP xml and the footage over to his computer?
Sorry if that sounds like a math problem but I really need help on this issue,
    Thanks forum,
    KH

Just send him your project exported as an .xml along with the media files.
If you are only doing a cut & dissolve type of rough cut, there won't be any problem.
If you add audio and video effects, they are not likely to translate.
I have done this successfully with several mac fcp editors.

  • After Effects - Premiere Pro workflow question...

    Hi,
I have a basic question about workflow between AE and PP.
I'm editing an acting reel for a client which deals with a lot of different footage and bits and pieces here and there.
We already converted all the footage to DV-AVI - tweaking, color correction and effects are done in AE.
Here's the question that I'm thinking about:
Should I work on all my footage in AE first and then import it into PP for editing OR should I edit everything the way I wanna have it and then import it into AE for the tweaking.
Advantages for both options that come to my (newbie) mind:
    AE first then PP
    1. Final editing is done in PP which gives me flexibility if I wanna change things later editing wise
    2. PP exporting options are huge - don't know if AE can compare to that
    3. could import to PP via Dynamic link which saves me the hassle of exporting each little clip from AE to a lossless format - as mentioned we have lot's of different footage and little bits and pieces here and there
    PP first the AE
    1. if u apply a lot of effects, Dynamic link is a pain to scrub through the footage in PP because it takes so much time to render through the link - with exporting a final edited version from PP and then importing into AE would make things go a little bit smoother
    2. I would have more flexiblity if I wanna change any effects in AE
    What would u suggest ?
Thanx for your help in advance !!
    Mike

    Mylenium,
    thanx again for your input.
Reading your posts - and PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong - it seems like the workflow would be:
    1. PP for rough cut, then
    2. AE for tweaking
    3. back to PP for the final cut, export etc., since AE does not have the editing tools needed (transitions etc.)
But, as I did some testing the last two hours it is almost impossible getting PP projects into AE.
I read the manual and tried the following:
    a. importing a PP project file into AE via the Import --> File dialog.
I specified only one PP sequence to be imported - it did import all of the footage of the PP project (including the footage that is not needed) and it imported 3 (not one) sequences, including the one I specified.
Besides that, the sequence is unusable - the in & out points of the footage are totally wrong - the transition I applied (dip-to-black) was unavailable.
I re-tried it without transitions but the in & out points of the footage are absolutely wrong.
The sequence deals with two different clips - both used 3 times in the sequence - and the first clip is okay in AE, but the second clip always (at all three points) starts from the start of the original footage.
    b. I tried to copy & paste footage from the PP timeline to the AE timeline - which did not work.
As described in the manual, I did save that AE project and I did select the timeline in AE. I tried it through Edit --> Paste (which was unavailable), as well as through Ctrl+V. Did not work.
It seems to me like Dynamic Link is a One-Way-Street, it does work from AE to PP but not the other way around, at least not usable.
I had a thread about this a couple of weeks ago and other users experienced the same results.
I'm thinking about doing the rough cut in AE, the limited editing tools from AE should be okay...

  • Premiere pro/audition bug? Mixdown file won't play in sequence

    Howdy.
Never had this happen before, so I thought I'd ask you academic types what's going on.
I created a sequence in PP that contained multiple audio (wav)/video files. I exported the audio to Audition, balanced the amplification, declicked, popped, etc. Created a mixdown of the files and exported (wav). I imported the mixdown to PP and placed it into the sequence (I've done this thousands of times before). Unfortunately, there were no waveforms on the file and no audio can be heard.
However, if I open the same file in the source monitor the waveforms are there and the file plays as it should. I can also open and play the wav file in media play, for example, and everything appears to be fine.
Any ideas on why it won't play in the program monitor/timeline/sequence?
    Thanks

Oh well, not a big deal. I was able to use the clip by creating a new sequence, dragging from source monitor to new sequence, then copy/paste from the new sequence to the sequence I needed.

  • Premiere Pro Export question -

i need help with the following- i want to export some Canon 5D .mov clips that i have adjusted  in regard color correction and created in and out points - i want to export to media those files and hand them off to an editor- what is the best way to do this so they retain the same characteristics as the source (5D) files- in regard to Codec/compression/file size / qulaity   -  it seems when i choose (click)  "match sequence settings"  in the export settings dialog box  the resulting exported file  does have the same codec  ( MPEG I-Frame)  as the original     but the resulting file size is is only about half the size  as the original .mov souirce file ?   so what is the best way to export these files- so an editor can use them with my edits intact - but so they are the same quality or better as the original files?-   thanks for any help

best way to do this so they retain the same characteristics as the source (5D) files- in regard to Codec/compression/file size / quality
Simply put, it's not possible.  Keeping the quality will make them larger, keeping their size will add degradation.
The better option is to give your editor the raw video files, let him edit, and them do the color corrections after.

  • Runtime Error  - Program-iles (86)Adobe\Premiere Pro 1.5\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe

I have Adobe Video Collection V2.6. (Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5).
All of the collection will load on my system except Adobe Premier Pro.
    My system is:
    Dell Precision 670 Work Station
    Intel Xeon CPU 3.2GHz
3.19 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
    MS Windows XP
    Professional x64 Edition
    Version 2003
    Service pack 2, v.4566
When I try to load Adobe Premiere Pro I am presented with the follow statement:
    Runtime Error
    Program…iles (86)Adobe\Premiere Pro 1.5\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe
Question: How do I correct the Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 Runtime Error? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Bill and Harm,
I spent 16 hours yesterday blending everything from Microsoft and Dell that
I could find relating to my problem. During all of this I lost all sound,
including playback and record on Adobe Audition 3 on another partition.  I
worked until midnight last night and came back to my computer this morning
at 2:00 AM to continue. When I turned on the computer and checked, all of
the icons for the CD & DVD units, internet phone were in place and
everything worked. Adobe Audition now records and plays back...just like old
times. I have no idea which of the changes I made corrected my problem but
the problem is solved. Just wanted you gentlemen to know.  It is reassuring
to know that there are folks “out there” a novice can count on. I will now
add the 8 GB of RAM but will not move to Windows 7 as yet. Thanks again for
    your help.

  • Exporting Sessions to Premiere Pro

    Hi There,
I'm a newbee to Adobe products. I was wondering; I had three or four clips of audio in one track of a Premiere Pro project, opened it in Audition, worked on it, then exported it back into Premiere Pro. The problem is that, when I exported it into Premiere Pro, Audition created one clip out of the three or four clips that I had. Yes they were all in the same track, but I need them separated so that I can apply different effects, volume and EQ to each later on.
    Any Ideas?

Here are some screen shots detailing what I mean.
This is Adobe Audition. As you can see, the large track is divided. It has five sections to be exact.
I click the export to Adobe Premiere Pro, but when it opens in Premiere Pro it joins the five sections on the one track and converts it into one section on the one track. Hope these help.

  • How can i save a sequence into a folder in premiere pro cc

How can i save a sequence into a folder in premiere pro cc

Your question is confusing. It could mean a few different things.
    A. If you just want to have the sequence in a particular bin in the Project panel, then drag it there.
    B. If you mean you want to save a sequence so that all of the necessary files are in one folder on your hard drive, simply create a new project and import the sequence into your new project. Then use the Project Manager to gather all of your files together.
