Premiere Pro CC 2014 - initial failed exports

Hello
Apologies if this has been raised before, I've had a quick search but cannot find the exact problem I (we) are experiencing.
Whenever I export any media from a project,  the encoding appears to happen taking a reasonable amount of time, but I am left with a 1 kb file. When I repeat the process again, the export works without a problem.
This happens irrespective of the source range I choose, the type of file, audio or no audio, video size, etc.
This happens every time I try to export media from a project for the first time. The second time, and any subsequent times afterwards the export works. I've been living with having to export each project twice for a while now but it's beginning to get annoying.
It does actually happen to another employee at my place of work as well so I am pursuing this with our IT department as to whether it could be a server/network location issue..
Any helpful answers would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Nathan

What are the sequence settings and export settings? Screenshots of the Sequence Settings and Export Settings dialogs are a great way to convey this info.
Where is the content for the sequence stored? The Premiere project file? And where are you exporting to? [internal drive? external drive? network server?]
Are you exporting 'in-process' by clicking the Export button or queued to AME? If queued to AME, please try disabling the preference "Import Sequences Natively."
Did your quick search turn up this thread: Re: I have exported a file as a custom mp4 (1gb) and the file i have been left with is 1kb, any ideas?

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 hangs on export

I opened a project that worked on the previous version and everything played fine in the 2014 update, rendering previews and smooth playback with no problems. When I go to export it hangs. The sequence is full of ProRes 4444 footage with the sequence settings and previews set to the same codec. I'm trying to export a ProRes 4444 master file.
    What I've tried :
    - Switching between CPU and GPU rendering
    - Render previews and having "match sequence settings" and "use previews" checked
    - Render directly without using previews
One thing to note is opening the same project in Premiere Pro CC ( not 2014 ) with the same settings exports without any problems. Glad I didn't uninstall.
    System Specs :

I'm now getting inconsistent behavior. Exporting in-process is very slow, with a normally 1-2 min export taking 30min - 2 hours for both GPU and Software modes.
I tried unchecking Import Sequences Natively in AME and it stalled out using OpenCL. Tried again in AME with Software Only and it worked normally. Just for fun I tried again in AME with OpenCL and it worked. To test further I enabled Import Sequences Natively again in AME and it works normally for both GPU and Software Only modes. Going back to exporting in-process still doesn't work.
The original CC ( non 2014 ) release never had this problem, and CC 2014 didn't have this problem until the latest update. While this is still pretty broken, at least I can get an export if the stars align through AME.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 crashing on export using Windows 8.1

    Hello
I am using Windows 8.1 and ever since I did the most recent update of creative cloud for my apps PR CC 2014 crashes every time I export to media encoder, I have found a little work around by opening media encoder and choosing the file I want manually, but as I type this the video is rendering so I don't know if there will be any visual or audio bugs as a result.
Is there a fix for PR CC, 2014 export issue on windows yet?
I did look through the forum a little before writing this but all the other threads regarding this issue are on MAC and I'm running Windows.
    Thanks for any help

What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

  • Exporting to Media Encoder crashes Premiere Pro CC 2014

    Greetings,
I am experiencing a problem with premiere off and on. Right now it is an on problem. When I am exporting from Premiere Pro CC (and CC 2014) it will intermittently crash Premiere. I have tried this with several different audio and video formats (AVI [Lagarith and uncompressed], WAV, H.264, MPG2, AAC, etc). At the moment, every time I go to export to queue it locks up and hangs on the "Preparing data for export..." Media Encoder Launches and then it just freezes. I get "Problem Even Name: AppHangB1" over and over. Sometimes a full restart will fix this temporarily and sometimes it goes away for a long while. I managed to get a few sequences exported and then it just kept freezing on every PP CC restart.
    Here are my system specs:
Premiere Pro CC (up to date)
Win 7 64bit (up to date)
    i7 970
    24GB Ram
NVIDIA 470GTX (driver up to date)
    3 x 1.5TB internal
    4TB internal
    3TB internal
    12TB RAID 5 via USB 3.0
    USB 2.0 and 3.0 drives
FireWire audio device (M-AUDIO FireWire1814)... although, I am not using it for playback. It is connected.
Footage is from C100 H.264 .MTS, H.264.mov from 7D, and H.264 .MOV from iPhone.
All stock video plugins with a few third party audio plugs.
This problem happens with and without third party plugs, but it happens that this project uses them.
I have chatted with Adobe help twice about the matter and nothing has come of it. Log out, log in = same. Restart = same (sometimes), create new user account = same, and so on. The only thing I haven't done is completely re-install premiere, which seems a bit overkill. One of the reps said he would get back to me in a few days after he watched the issue via screen share. Never heard back.
I get the sense that this has something to do with PProHeadless.exe not launching or not running properly. When the crash happens on a fresh restart of PP CC 2014 PProHeadless is not running. I can start PProHeadless and it will send sequence to media encoder. When I try to export another sequence from the same project it crashes and I see another instance of PProHeadless launched.
Also, once the projects are exported to Media Encoder, I can encode them to any format with no problem. The problem is getting the sequences there!
Is there anything that I am overlooking here?
    Thanks for the help!

    Hi
    Premiere pro cc 2014  8.0.1 (21) build
    Encoder CC 2014 8.0.1.48
I use CC for Teams so it updates all the time.
Again when I tried to use it today by letting premiere open it by sending an output into Queue it crashed both Encoder and Premiere.
In order to shut down Encoder and Premiere I had to go into Task Manager and "End Process Tree" on everything adobe I could find because just ending Encoder did not work it would not close. I remembered that years ago when Premiere would crash we had to end a photoshop process. I found photoshop open even though it was not "alive" on my task bar. I had used it yesterday but had closed it. I also had to close dynamiclinkmanager.exe *32 as well as one of the three Adobe CDF Helper.exe*32. They popped back on but Encode closed and then I got a message that Premiere needed to close and did when I clicked the button to let it close.
After all this I re-opened Encoder by itself and checked the Preferences finding that Import Sequences Natively option was again checked.
By the way for me, "Launch AME manually, then drag the sequence from PPro's Project panel to AME's Queue (or to a preset in the Preset Browser). That uses a different code path than the File>Export>Media workflow." won't work most of the time because I do live events of panel interviews that may run 2 or more hours. I need to break them down to chapters for the web
Also I know this isn't part of this problem but I and many others would still love dynamiclink to work to Encore because the DVD is not dead yet. The current work path is a drag.
Looks like some programers and engineers have some work to do.
    Thanks
    Dennis

  • I'm having problem with exporting video from premiere pro cc 2014

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and I'm having problem with exporting video.
When I click Export and media, the window for exporting appears and it starts exporting video.
But after a few minutes, it looks like it has completed exporting video and says there's a bug in exporting.
It literally says it has a problem with compiling, but I don't know what the real problem is.
I tried many things like restarting computer and Premire Pro but it's no use.
But it works when I use Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 for exporting video.
If anyone knows any possibilities about why this problem happens, please let me know.

I'm having a similar issue.  When I go to export my project, I add it to the render queue, set it up with the h.264 settings that I've used with countless past versions of the program, and then hit render.  Randomly, at some point in the process, the render just stops and the ETA just keeps climbing.  I actually had to save an XMF file of the CC 2014 project and bring it into the previous CC version of Premiere just to finish it.  Even a clean re-install of CC 2014 doesn't work.

  • Exporting comp from After Effects CC to Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014) gives error message: "AE can not connect to dynamic link"

I am trying to export an AE CC comp into a Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2014) video project. I can not drage it from AE to Premier Pro.  Is there a problem with the dynamic link between these two applications?

Dynamic Link only works between After Effects and Premiere Pro if the applications are of the same version---i.e., both CC 2014 versions.

  • Exporting from Premiere Pro CC 2014

    Hello there,
Every time that I am willing to export my project my Premiere Pro CC 2014 stop responding all together. I tried the short cut (Commend+M) or going through the Manu bar. the result is the same, Premiere Pro CC 2014 just freezes and does not respond to anything till I force quit it and restart it allover again. I tried exporting from Premiere Pro it self, without using Media Encoder, but the problem remains the same.
I am using the new Mac Pro. I heard Adobe Premiere Pro is experiencing  problems with the New Mac Pro. Is that true? Or is there other issue?
Thank you and looking forward to hear back,

Thank you very much and appreciate your help enormously.
Since preference files get touched by the application frequently, there is always the possibility of their corruption. When this happens, you start to see what we call "unexpected behaviors" from Premiere Pro. This problem happens infrequently, but it is a good first troubleshooting step to try on your own. This is the case with most every non-linear editing application I have used over the years (Final Cut Pro, Avid, Media 100, etc.).
    Thanks,

  • How to export H.264 in a .MOV container in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014?

    Hi!
I'm editing video on a regular basis, and the broadcasting network I'm working with is asking for an H.264 video in a .MOV file format.  I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and love it, but I cannot seem to find the option to export H.264 in a Quicktime video format.  Additionally, they want the video in interlaced format, but there is no 720i option.
    Assistance is greatly appreciated!

As the image to the right shows, I have no h.264 option.
Would HandBrake be a good way to encode in h.264 and export to .mov?  I'd really like to do it directly from Premiere, but HandBrake is as good a solution as any...

  • Can't export clips or sequences to Audition from Premiere Pro cc 2014.2

I can't get audio tracks or anything to export to audition. If I right click on them the option is grayed out and if I go to the clip menu and select "edit in adobe audition" the "clip" is grayed out and if I choose sequence it opens a dialog box that will not let me click the box "open in adobe audition".
I am watching a how to video but my program will not function as shown in video.

I uninstalled Audition and reinstalled it. I read that it should be installed after premier pro cc. That restored the grayed out links. good, but now other problem.
Now the new issue is the export to premiere from Audition is greyed out.
I will try and get this make sense...
I installed premiere cs6 two days ago to get Encore for dvd burning and menus. After the uninstall/reinstall of audition just now I ran a check on the link and got stuff from premiere cc 2014 to launch into audition, but when I checked how to send it back to premiere pro cc 2014 when I went to export to premiere (and was able to check the open in Premiere box) it launched cs6, but I want it to go to my premiere cc 2014
So I uninstalled cs6 only leaving encore, now the box to send it to premiere is unable to be checked.
I tried another fresh install of audition, but the box is still unable to be checked.
I need help - been up all night and having a rough time here.

  • Dramatically slower encode/render times from Premiere Pro CC 2014 via both AME 2014 and direct export via PP

My recent update to Adobe CC 2014 apps has been an unmitigated disaster.  Was running the 2013 version until last week and everything was just dandy.  Very good performance and excellent render/encode times even for stuff with lots of filters and fx.
Since update 1-2 min videos with no fx or filters (or even transitions) have gone from exporting in under two minutes to well over 25 minutes.  These exports are with the same presets I regularly use (Vimeo 720HD H.264).
I've been poking around the forums here for two days looking for answers and can't find anything that works.  Tried the whole "App Nap" toggle as well as a few other tips.  Didn't do squat.  Looking for any hints/answers.  Thanks.

Premiere Pro CC 2014 renders are painfully slow.
You can rename folders, but I prefer to do it this way: Premiere Pro CC freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)

    That sounds a lot better.

Same 1 minute edit took 35 minutes however when I exported from a PP timeline using MXF clips instead of QTs.  I assumed the QTs would speed up the process but in the past I've gotten great performance on big old RED raw files so still a bit of mystery why I can't approach the speeds I had prior to most recent CC update.
Maybe updating your project file has something to do with it. I'll keep my eye on this issue. Thanks for reporting.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 Crashes During Media Export

Hi, I have diligently applied several of the fixes listed here:
Re: Premiere Pro CC 2014 freezes frequently and crashes
However, Premiere Pro CC crashes at about 10% of the video export -- it gets through the audio stuff as far as i can see.

    yeah, checked out the article.
my computer is not shutting down. premiere is crashing. the media exporter is crashing.
it gets through the audio then it crashes during the video processing.
i even tried to hit pause every 2 seconds.
a test exports fine from premiere 6.0, but i am concerned that 6.0 might crash if i rebuild the whole project.
    hmm i have an idea.
obviously i would much rather the software worked.
