Premiere Pro CC (Audio)

Hello! : )
I was having some serious issues getting my audio files to work in Premiere Pro CC; but after some research I found my solution. Unfortunately, this requires me to rename all my .mts files .m2ts. I am very happy to have found this solution, but it is definitely a hassle. I have way too much footage to rename all of them!
Is there an alternative to naming them one by one? Or maybe an entirely different solution to my problem in the first place? All help is appreciated, thank you so much!

Hi PinPhoto,

  • Premiere pro: multiple audio tracks in a single take. (Workflow for audio mixing outside premiere)

Hi I am an editor from Finland.
I need to sync multiple audio tracks (like 2 stereo and 4 mono) to different takes before i start to edit. You see, after the editing I will create an OMF file for the sound editor who needs all the audio tracks to work with. I have noticed however by just nesting (puttin video and audio clips in a single sequence) the resulting sequence placed on in the main sequence is flattened into stereo (not multichannel). You see my problem here? I am surprised, because i have always taught that this is a very normal workflow and so far i haven't found a single tutorial or a guide for this problem.
Just to make sure we're on the same page: I know how to sync video and audio, just not so that the 6different audio tracks in all my 120 different takes that i edit into a single sequence will have the 6different audio tracks in the audio post production (which is done in protools, maybe...)
    Oh yeah, Premiere Pro CS5

    Hi!
This is the case when i get a master clip with all the audio tracks in it. I however got separate files, a bunch of different video files (with stereo track), for every take a boom mic audio track, and a few tracks for all the microphones on the actors. Now after i import these into premiere, how will i proceed so that after i have synced all the audioclips to all the video clips (by nesting?) I will still have all the audio clips intact in the OMF file I will create.
Last time i created omf, all the clips had turned into stereo because of nesting. Is the only way to avoid this by joining the video and audio clips into multichannel audio clips with another program before importing into premiere?
I am not very good at explaining... Problem: I get a video and 10 audio tracks. I join them by putting them into a sequence. I repeat this about a hundred times (for every take). Now i start to edit. I create the main sequence in which i clip pieces from all the hundred takes. In the main sequence the clips have only one stereo track. When the movie is finished I create an OMF for the sound guy. The sound guy asks me why are there only 2 tracks per clip? Where are all the 10 separate audio tracks?

  • After effects CC export to premiere pro CC: audio doesn't match

    Hello!
I am making an animation serie for Belgian TV. They need me to export  only my audio from premiere (I make the animations in after effects).
    They need OMF format.
When I export from after effects CC > Premiere pro project (only to export my audio to OMF from here) the audio doesn't match.
Adobe media encoder doesn' support OMF unfortunately.
Example; if I stretch the audio time in after effects, premiere doesn't.
I am really stressing out and any help would be very welcome
    Thank you!
    Ellen

    Hello Jim
    Thanks for the reply!
When I import my after effects composition into premiere, it is perfectly visible and the audio is correct.
But now it is suddenly impossible to select > export > OMF
Do you know why this is?
    Thanks!

  • Premiere Pro CC audio corruption issues

    Hello Adobe community,
I've been editing happily on Adobe for several years now, and I'm not sure if it's CC, Mavericks updating and/or getting a brand new top-of-the-line 16GB/ram MacBook Pro to edit on, but every time I close and re-open premiere pro CC, the majority of my audio simply disappears -- sometimes it does it in the middle of an edit. The clips are still there, but they no longer have waveforms and don't play back. Sometimes it's most audio clips, sometimes it's ALL audio clips. It's inexplicable. I don't have any plugins installed or effects, it seems arbitrary as to which clips drop out.
There is a temporary and EXTREMELY aggravating fix, which is to match-frame each corrupt audio and then manually re-insert every single corrupt audio clip.
However, once a project gets to a certain point (what point, I still have no idea), the audio is BEYOND saving. I can't match frame and hear anything. I also can't re-link the corrupt file to its original -- the audio will never come back. This is so frustrating I can't stand it. Entire projects have simply become corrupt and it's not even possible to open a back-up successfully (once the audio drops out on one version, it seems to exist across the board across prior versions). I never had any issues when I start and work on projects from my hefty iMac -- it seems to have something to do with being on a MacBook Pro. So when a project gets corrupted, I've even tried immediately opening a clean back up on my iMac, but the audio is STILL corrupted.
I have tried so many fixes for this I'm going insane. It seems to happen most when I'm running off of an external harddrive, though I've tested it with so many different brands, capacities and connections (thunderbolt to FW800 to USB3.0) -- it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've lowered my buffersize to the minimum, have tried mimimizing all of my tracks so no waveforms are visible, i've tried rendering everything, moving scratch disks, pre-transcoding all footage to Pro Res 422 with 48khz audio, everything. I've also filled out bug reports to adobe, which I have no idea if they're ever seen or not. I rely on Premiere for my livlihood and I'm so desperate I'm about to go back to FCP.
Does anyone have any clue what this could be or any way you might be able to help?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Matt

All my footage is ProRes 4444 shot on the Alexa.  Audio was recorded separately on a mixer, I can't tell you the model for sure but it generates poly track wav files.  The wav has 6 separate tracks - five of which are being used.  I've got another project, same footage/camera, same mixer/audio files and I haven't had any problems.  There aren't near as many edits in that project and only four of the six tracks on the wav were used.  They're still there, just no audio.
I'm using a 10 TB lacie big disk via thunderbolt in raid 0.  I've had no other issues with the device or either port.
When it fails to playback I get the following error on the events screen:
'A low-level exception occurred in; Adobe Player (Player)'
I also used pluraleyes 3 to sync the project.  When it output the xml for premiere it gave me a window that said 'this contains 5.1 audio data and pluraleyes may not handle it properly'.  I didn't, in the timeline all the audio tracks were the same, it was the master mix on 6 tracks - no iso's.  The wav files in the project widow had the proper tracks when I viewed them in the source monitor.  Because the duration of the audio tracks were the same - I cut the iso tracks into the sync sequence I got from pluraleyes and deleted the audio tracks that originally appeared in the sequence.  I mention this because as I said, I have another project that I used the same workflow for and haven't had these issues - yet.  I also didn't receive the 5.1 message when I came out of pluraleyes.
Initially when I was having playback issues (the audio waveforms vanishing has been constant), I converted the 44.1 mp3 music files to 48 wav's to match the audio from the mixer. This solved the problem temporarily but now I can't get the audio from the mixer and the music to play in the same timeline.  The only way I get playback is to take out the music, strip all the effects from the mixer audio and not have more than two tracks of audio simultaneously on the timeline.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

  • Premiere Pro CC: audio and video is out of sync after export

Hi folks! I downloaded trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Captured gameplay with bandicam in Motion Jpeg Format (as advised) 30 fps and made a 40 minutes lenght clip. But there is an issue: in my project audio is synchronized with video, but when i export - it's lost (and i think to further we watch video, the bigger is the synch gape between audio and video, in increases gradually). I tried various formats, tried to use option "delete rendered files" prior to export, tried "match source" option, tried to choose various drives for exporting - nothing helps.
Help, how to solve this problem?

Handbrake is a free-download program that takes variable-frame-rate footage and converts it to constant frame-rate. VFR to CFR, if you will.
Going back to your reply to my first post, you noted there had been some kind of "hardlimit" to 30fps that you hadn't chosen. I'm guessing that would have made this track CFR, and what you've got instead is VFR. So you might try recording another bit after selecting that setting to hardlimit the frame-rate, and see if it works better through PrPro to export.
Next ... so, you've got a 30fps probably VFR video track, and it appears a WAV file is your audio ... was that produced by the Bandicam program while it was recording your program? Or is it from another source and you pasted it into your sequence?

  • Premiere Pro Exported Audio Problem

I'm using Premiere Pro to edit the videos I just shot and I used the DeNoiser effect to get rid of the background hissing from my mic. The problem is when I export the movies the first few seconds of each clip have the background hiss and then it goes away. It isn't there when I am working on the file, only after it has been exported. Have you ever seen this or know how to fix it?

This happens sometimes.  It would be better to do your audio work in Audition.

  • Premiere Pro dropped audio after export, AME no audio

Similar problem in both premiere & AME - clips are exporting with video but no audio.
When queueing up jobs in AME, they'll finish with no Audio & now even exporting directly from the timeline in Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 (just updated 2014-12-14) our clips still have no audio.
All clips have conformed on the timeline before beginning export.
This is happening despite trying these various solutions... re-installing Premiere, starting a new project, choosing a new Scratch Disk with 3 TB of available hard drive space... also our operating system is a 2014 3.5 GHz i7 32GB RAM iMac, running Mavericks with a 256 GB Flash Hard Drive, so RAM or HD speed should not be an issue?
Any advice or a solution would be greatly appreciated.  We export dozens of jobs a day and cannot find a reason why this Adobe Premiere Pro & AME Software is not working correctly & giving us dropped audio upon export - very frustrating, thanks for the help...

I have 2 macs, screenshot with identical export setting was from 2nd mac. if you can repro now here is a 2014.2 screenshot & same export settings on the 2014.2 mac; issue occurs on both computers thanks - also this timeline, before export I had audio on all tracks.  Here is a screenshot of the timeline post export; all of the audio is gone?  It was there at time of export

  • Premiere Pro CC Audio Track Titles Missing

Since updating to Premiere Pro CC from CS6, I lost the audio titles at the top of each audio track in the timeline.    These were important for me to stay organized and for my workflow.  Is there a way to get them back?

    Hi Brandon163,
Please check on the right top corner you will notice a magnifying glass icon which is spotlight.
Click on it and type Audio midi setup which will populate in the list click on it to open.
Once you open it you will get Premiere Pro 7.0 or 8.0 whichever version you have.

  • Premiere Pro CC Audio Cuts Out

    Okay,
So I've switched to the new Premiere Pro CC and now my audio drops out during playback. Doesn't matter if it's an aiff, mp3, whatever. I never had this problem with Premiere Pro CS6. All files are saved to an XServe Network on OS 10.8.4. I'll have to remain using Premiere CS6 for the time being.
Also, just tested this out. I had a TIFF sequence playing with this audio. It did NOT like that. I can play the audio by itself just fine. So it seems to be a problem with playing the video file WITH the audio.

This happens on nearly every project I start in Premiere Pro CC.
It's really frustating and makes editing very difficult. It is almost impossible to watch the flow of an edit.
I used Premiere CS6 and this never happened. In fact I got my entire office to switch from Final Cut 7 to premiere recently because CS6 was so great and chugged through footage without the hassle transcoding.  I very much want this issue resolved.
I am typically working with multiple layers of video and 1 layer of audio - footage straight out of Canon 5D Mark III
This even happens when you quote un quote "render audio" which doesnt make sense to me.
Happens when you render the enite video video with render all effects.
I work on a decked out mac book pro at my office
and a fairly decked out mac mini at my house (though i realize it is still a mac mini)
This happens both when running on an internal drive or firewire 800
I just watched my activity monitor - it seems to happen when the free ram goes to less than 100mb -
however the ram fluxuates a lot when playing back.
I am currently working on a projcet that is 2:30 long. The only applications open are premiere, safari and the activity monitor.
I just opened premiere and flushed the preferences by holding option and shif
Watched the video once entirly with no issue (it was rendered mostly from last time I was working) my free ram started at about 3 gigs available the first time I watched. When it was done playing I had about 1 gig available
I stated playing the video again and the ram went down again to nothing and audio stopped - audio levels die (even though there is audio there) - video played okay. pressing play immediatly to start it fixes it temporarily but then it cuts out again
I went back to the begining again and this time deleted my render files. playback on both A/V were very poor.
I dont know too much about computers but it seems to be a ram issue - this being said my mac mini which i am on right now has 8 gigs and my mac pro at work has 24. Both should be sufficient ram.
Thanks for your help and look forward to Adobe's fix for this issue. I hope it is as pressing for your team as it is for all of us.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Audio Sync Help.

Hi I am having problems with trying to sync my audio in Premiere Pro CS6.  I clicked all of my audio files and hit synchronized and it does not come up with an option to sync by the audio.  I know you can do this in Premiere Pro CC but why not in CS6? For the future, thank you all for whoever responded and took the time to answer my problem!

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Audio Issues

We have been testing Premiere CS6 on our first job for the last week. However, we are running into some major audio issues:
    1. When clip is loaded into the source viewer, and you jump to through the cilp, the audio lags behind until you stop and wait a few seconds for the audio to catch up. This is a major hinderance when trying to edit quickly with clients in session. This also happens on the timeline when jumping around. These problems never occured in Avid or FCP running the same media.
    2. With no rhyme or reason, the audio (from source and timeline) sometimes just doesnt play. The meteres will be moving and the video will play, but the audio wont be coming out. Sometimes you hear a noise as if someone was playing with the audio cables. Also, sometimes the meters dont even move, to suggest there is no audio again video is playing, when infact there is.
These problems have occured accros multiple machines, with media running from both our server, and local hard drives. Our facility runs a NAS that pushes 110/MB/s over ethernet from a 16TB RAID6 (that is SAS connected to the server). One machine is running OSX 10.8, with Black Magic Intensity Pro, 20GB Ram, NVidia Quadro 4000. Another is running OSX 10.8, with AJA IO Express, 16GB Ram, NVidia 4000. and the last is running 10.6.8 with Black Magic Intesnsity Pro, 12GB ram, and NVidia GTX something or other (unsupported card).
Has anyone else gotten these issues? Like i said, i have tested the media from the server and from the local hard drives. We are pushing Apple Pro Res HQ, have also tested Pro Res LT, Pro Res 444 and Canon H.264.

For me it wasn't a RAM issue, I had more than enough to process the audio I had in my project.  This quote from a Creative Cow post worked for me.
"Try deleting your .cfa files for the media in question, and then don't mess with the project until they are done re-conforming."
    Here's the original post:
    http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/926011
I don't know how to figure out which .cfa files are associated to specific media files, so I just went to where they were cached and deleted all of them.  Open your project again and you'll see a little yellow bar in the lower left-hand corner of the Timeline window showing  that it's re-conforming your media.  Don't even think of touching the computer while it's doing this... I was so paranoid that I didn't do anything else (check e-mail, open a web browser, work on a Word doc, etc.) until Premiere was totally finished.  After that my audio played fine for the rest of the project.
One thing that's tricky and took me a while to figure out is that if you're using multiple drives, you have to be careful to make sure you're getting ALL of the .cfa files.  If you've set the project to cache your files on a external drive, and then open a  project on a different drive without having that external connected, Premiere will set the cache folder to its default location (usually on your host computer's main hard drive).  I didn't realize this, and had the audio drop-out issue, so I deleted the .cfa files but the drop-out didn't go away.  I found out that Premiere had reset my media cache folder, and had cached the corrupted .cfa files on my main hard drive.  Once I deleted them there and let the computer re-conform, the  audio played well again.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 - audio plugins not engaging until roughly 1 second into clip

This is a strange issue I've been having with Premiere CS6, running on a Mac Pro.  Anytime I add effects to audio, whether it is denoiser, highpass, eq, etc, the effect doesn't engage until roughly 1 second into the clip.
It doesn't matter if I render it or export it.  The problem still occurs.  In the past my solution has been to drag the audio out past the 1 second threshold, apply the effect, export just the audio, bring it back into premiere, re-align the new audio and export.  What a pain!
Definitely a problem I've never had with Avid or Final Cut!  Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this problem?!

It's a long-standing bug with certain audio effects.  Please do let Adobe know you want it fixed.
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
In the meantime, you should do that kind of work in Audition instead.

  • Premiere Pro CC audio pops then cuts out. HELP PLEASE.

    Driving me nuts...
Read all the forums. Tried reinstalling, deleting .cfs files, changing audio inputs, everything.
What is happening is that when I play back, the audio will "pop" (like feedback, loud, distorted, sounds like its hurting my speakers) then just not play anything. Levels monitor will be firing away, waveforms are there. Matching back to source monitor does nothing. Totally silent.
When I quit I hear another pop as the program exits.
The rest of the computer has sound functions (iTunes, internet, everything)
    Anyone?
Macbook pro 2011 - 10.8 - 16 gigs of ram - playing off secondary internal SSD drive. 4 tracks of sync sound. Thanks.
PS - just noticed a little warning triangle at the bottom right of the program that says "Audio Dropout Detected at 1:11.442 in Adobe Player" - no idea what the hell that means.
PSS - I have a feeling its because of the video. I'm editing RED (4k) - when the video is just on one track its no problem, but as soon as I put it above another clip, then it pops and cuts out.

I dropped 8K on a new mac pro, thinking, foolishly, to just throw some computing power at it...
My friends, Adobe just hates macs.
Both my D700 GPUs are kinda useless to Premiere. nVidia won and I guess Adobe could give two sh*ts about anyone on a new mac. I was hoping to go to premiere after Apple decided to drop FCP. What's amazing, as a commercial editor in NYC, EVERYONE was either on FCP or Avid (much more FCP) so there was lots of business to pick up... but the more I talk to people, and stories like this get shared, the more people are moving over to Avid, even FCPX if you can stomach it. Such a shame because AE, PS and the rest should work so nicely together... they just couldn't make it easy for non nVidia people or mac people.
I've tried contacting them (I'm even on their customer review panel) but no one seems to be able to patch this up. I've done 2 clean installs on my new mac, because I've gotten to the point that every premiere freezes, its a restart. Unreal. Been editing for 10 years and never had problems like this... even when we started putting Avid on a mac.
Failed and quite pissed. Not for nothing Adobe, if you're listening, I've got a real mind to use every piece of my social media platform to bring this to your attention - this program has wasted so much of my time (and money, jeebus) that it's almost immoral what's been going on.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 - Audio issues

    Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to apologize for my pretty weak english.
I've been using Premiere CS6 for a while and I've never encountered any major issue that couldn't be fix... until now.
I'm working on a project that has several audio tracks, I've just finished my editing and I was going to export an aaf/omf for the audio. However when I loaded  my project, everything seemed to be fine, my playback was smooth and working well, all my clips and audio tracks were present in my timeline but there wasn't any audio being played.
The audio meters don't react, I don't have any effects on my audio tracks, there isn't anything muted and when I click on the audio tracks, the audio waveform is in red and is represented as a line.. Here is a screenshot :
When I relink to the original audio tracks, It doesn't fix the issue. The only way to make it works is to re import the tracks, and to drag'n'drop them into my timeline. In some way, i'll have to redo ALL the audio work and that's pretty tiresome.. (especially for the audio that is linked to video..)
The AAF fails (It tells me that It can't export audio clips that are linked to video clips..). OMF export works, it weights 800ish mo but it's empty...
Thanks in advance to anyone that could save my time on this issue.
Have a nice day/night to everyone.
    Antoine
