Premiere Pro CC Export Resulting in Massive Compression and Artifacts/Pixelation

Exporting a small motion graphics project from Premiere CC to a H264 file.  Premiere estimates a file size of around 60 MB, ends up at about 1MB with pixelating and artifacts.
When I take the same project and export through Media Encoder, Still compresses down to about 3 MB but looks much better (no artifacts). What is the difference? I'd rather not mess around with opening Encoder.
FYI, the same project opened back in Premiere CS6 estimates about 50MB, exports to 2MB, but looks clean and has no artifacts (looks the same as Premiere CC + Encoder but much better than Premiere CC direct export).
Anyone know what's going on?

I recommend starting a new thread as I suspect that the issue you're having is different than what's covered in this thread, which dates back to 2013. The issue at the center of this threadwas fixed in 7.1. Plus, if I understand correctly, you're having problems regardless of the bitrate encoding mode.
If you start a new thread, please provide details about your system, your source content, your sequence settings & effects, your exact export settings, and anything else that seems relevant. A screenshot from the encoded output or, better yet, a sample video clip demonstrating the problem could aid greatly in identifying the problem.
BTW, if I'm correct that the problem you're having is not directly related to the substance of this thread, then it's not really fair to slam Adobe for taking forever to "sort this out." And how long Premiere has been around is completely irrelevant.

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/exporting-dvd-or-blu-ray.html

    Exactly what are you Exporting?
How are you burning your BD?
Are you doing the authoring in Adobe Encore, the authoring program, included with PrPro, since CS 3?
If you are using Adobe Encore, and having issues with the resulting BD (Blu-ray Disc), then I would post the full details of your Project, and steps taken, in the Adobe Encore Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/encore/encore_general

adobe premiere pro 6    exporting Error Message:  winFile.ccp-814]

I'm getting the same error when I try to export a video.
Below I've tried to follow the above provided list of info required for the forum.
I'm using the most current version of Premiere Pro from CC.
I installed all the updates last night before trying to export.
I'm running an updated version of Win8.
The source footage is mostly shot from my 550D/T2i(.mov), and then there are small overlays of an mp4 video I ripped from Youtube. I'm trying to export the video as MPEG2, at 1080i settings. Is this enough info?
[..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-814] that is the error message I'm getting
When the problem occurs Ijust hit"Okay", which takes me back to the export screen. I hit "export" again, and then it appears to be exporting, but the progress bar stays on 0%.no it hasn't worked before.
Other software? As in simultaneously? Just Chrome browser. Or in conjunction with Premiere Pro; then nothing. It's a standard export from PP without any plugins or standalones contributing to the export.
As stated above, no I have no third party stuff running.
    Hardware
    Processor: AMD II X6 1055T 2.8GHz
    Memory: 16GB
    GPU: ATI 5700 1GB
No, I'm not using Mercury Playback engine.
Only with final ouput. My previews are fine.
    Hope that's enough info.

  • Default Premiere Pro CS6 Export Location

I had to edit videos of mine into a documentary for an assignment at university and am now looking for the place where i exported the finished work to. I know it was saved into some strange location that I hadn't chosen because it took me a while to figure out how to choose the destination for the export. So, I'd like to know if anyone can help me find that folder, it was what I assume to be the default Adobe Premiere Pro Cs6 export destination. I need to find the finished project for another assignment...

Premiere remembers the last export location.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 exports Blackmagic 10-bit 444 codec at 8 bpc

Color depth is automatically set to 24 bits (8bpc) when using the Blackmagic 10-bit 4:4:4 codec to export a file from Premiere Pro CS6 (Win-7). Is it possible to render from Premiere Pro using a higher bit depth so that the output isn't clamped? After Effects allows higher depth, but it is not an ideal workflow to export complex Premiere projects from AE.

Thank you for responding. Yes, I exported test files from Premiere and After Effects, and compared the files to the source sequence using scopes and a difference matte. The After Effects CS6 32bpc export showed no differences to the source sequence at 0.0% matching tolerance. The Premiere Pro CS6 export was different from both the AE file and the source sequence at matching tolerances below 0.5%, but was the same as an uncompressed 8-bit AVI at 0.0% matching tolerance.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 crasing from ripple delete and copy

I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 for several months now and it's been working with next to no problems and I've been very happy with it until today.
As I've neared the end of a recent project, after doing nothing different than usual I went to use ripple delete and every time I try it I now get this error message:
    Premiere Pro Debug Event
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [..\..\Src\Sequence\Action\ClipTrackRippleAction.cpp-56]
    Then:
Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Then if I try to copy clips or move multiple clips this error message shows up:

I am, however, still able to move single clips, adjust the length of individual clips and able to watch my project.
I've tried two different computers and restarted one and nothing has changed.
Is there an explanation as to why this is happening? Is there anything I can do to get around this or make it stop?

    Lord Nelson here.
I've reverted back to 5.5.0 as I was experiencing lock-up problems with the BM Intensity Pro.
Unfortunately I haven't found a way of simply uninstalling the update and reverting back to an earlier version.  Win 7 Sytem Restore wouldn't, so I had to uninstall Premiere Pro, apply the Adobe Clean Install utility (or whatever!) and then reinstall PP CS5.5.  Trouble was that it reinstalled the whole suite, not just PP - so I lost all custom workspaces across the suite.
    Grrrrr!

Premiere Pro is just for editing video.  Photoshop or Photoshop Elements is for editing photographs.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 - Export issue.

    Hello to the Adobe Community!
Maybe someone here can help me out with some Premiere issues.
    I am using Premiere Pro CS4 4.2.1.
    I'm on Windows 7 64 (Ultimate N).
    My system is:
    Intel Core i5CPU [email protected]
    3GB RAM
I have updated all Adobe software, and my drivers.
I've had a good look over the forums and I found this article. It's very useful, and hoping it would be my saviour, I went through all the advice given.
    Still no luck!
I'm trying to export the media from Premiere to Media Encoder.
    My sequence settings are:
    1280 x 720
    Square pixel aspect ratio
    25fps
    48000HZ - Stereo
    My render settings are:
    MPEG2 - DVD
    PAL HIGH QUALITY
Everything else is left to the default setting.
When I try to encode via the Media Encoder, it gets to about 1/3rd of the way through and I get a message:
    'Encoding Failed
    Error compiling movie.
    Unknown error.
I have also tried, as per previous posts, to use the Adobe Dynamic Link, both from Premiere out to Encore, and importing in from Premiere when I'm in Encore.
Still no luck! I get an 'encode failed' message when I try to transcode it. I'm pulling out my hair with this one.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
NB: This is my first post on this forum, so apologies if I have missed anything out.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
    Em.

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions - Evan I think you might be right on the memory issue.
I tried one last thing - running Premiere in compatibility mode as an administrator.
Again, it failed after about 7 minutes. It's quite a complicated project, but it's only 14 minutes long.
The strange thing is that although it doesn't seem to render on my work pc, it renders on my home pc, which has similar specs:
    CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.8GHZ 8MB
    MEMORY: 4GB (2x2GB) PC12800 DDR3/1600mhz Dual Channel Memory
MOTHERBOARD: Asus P7P55-M Intel P55 Chipset
    NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 1GB
I forgot to say that my work pc, listed above uses an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT card.
Do you think that 1GB can really make all the difference?
Sorry if that's a stupid question, I don't have a massive amount of technical knowledge.
    Cheers!
    Em.

  • Premiere Pro CC Export Crash and Freeze

So basically, i recorded in 4k 24p on my Panasonic GH4 and some 1080 60 clips and am editing in a 4k premiere pro cc timeline. All the clips are .MOV files. Whenever i go to export my 3 1/2 minute video straight out of Premiere pro or even the Media encoder it stops at about 3%  or whenever the export starts to hit the video files and the encoding time raises higher and higher and higher until the export just freezes. I'm exporting it out as an h.264 file 4096x2160 at 24fps. Vbr pass 2 times, at a bitrate of 25mbps. Earlier this past week i exported out about 30 seconds of the video at a random point of time in the video and it exported out fine, i just wanted to see how it compressed and how the footage would look like on vimeo. Now even if i try to export really any clip in the timeline individually it just freezes up like i said. I've been doing LOTS(4 days worth) of different troubleshooting and have not found a solution and im pretty upset. My computer is fast enough for sure, i have exported out a few different 4k tests and videos fine a few weeks back. Im running windows 7 16gb of ram, 8 cores, i7 processor and my graphics card is fine. Could you help me out?

One more thing. A BIG problem like this crashes - it´s up to Adobe to work it out with Apple or who every other vendor causing the problem (if there is a third part fault).
Adobe have to solve the problems together with the third part vendor, then com back to us multi million dollars worth of users with a easy quick fix. Do it!

  • 100% CPU Usage in CS5.5 Premiere Pro during export/encoding

I am wondering why my CPU usage is so high during exporting of my videos.  My counter shoots up to 100% as soon as I start and hovers at 95% throughout the whole process.  This seems dangerous to me so I wanted to bring it up here as I haven't found anyone with this same issue on this website or google.  Here are my system specs:
    i5-2400 CPU @3.10GHz
    6 GB of Ram
    64 bit windows 7
Geforce 660 ti graphics card (2gb)
They aren't top of the line but I feel like it should be capable of encoding.  I've cleaned my fans and tried using avi and h.264 formats which both led to the same issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm new to premiere pro so I'm sure I left some useful information out above.

    "...the same results"
This means high CPU usage, right?
    Correct
Are your exported media files ok?
I've only completed one because I was freaked out but yes they are fine.
I guess the thing I'm worried about is my temps going up really high because of the 100% usage.  I thought that they were both entertwined as in high usage = high temps.  I'll look for a temperature program to run while encoding and I'll monitor how high the temps get.  You've given me hope here as I may have been making mountains out of mole hills.  If the temperatures are high would you recommend more fans in my desktop?
