Premiere Pro CC-MediaEncoder : Setting sequence composite linear color ?

Hello, hello,
Someone would tell me what is this option?
Setting sequence> composite linear color (or GPU acceleration rendering quality max neccessary)?
I wonder if the fact that my media encoder takes me 6 H encoding to make a video of 17mn which has no effect does not come from there?
Since I do not know what is this option.

Bonjour, bonjour,

You are not missing anything. This is how it works now in CC.

  • When importing MPEG files into Premiere Pro CS3 the audio sequence is missing.

We have two computers running Premiere Pro CS3.  Our computer most recently installed with PPCS3 will only import an audio sequence with the MPEG video file when I extract the file directly from the DVD.  When I take the video folder from the DVD and drag to my Desktop, importing to PP from the desktop, it will only import the video sequence; audio does not appear.  What would cause this happen and how can I fix this?  It's too time consuming to continuously use my DVD Extractor.

1st, that old program has a different forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous

  • Premiere Pro CS3 then After Effects CS3 for Color Correction?

    Hello All,
I'm at a bit of a loss here, it seems like it's a no brainer to be able to do this. I'm trying to edit my film in Premiere and then use After Effects to do color correction using Color Finesse 2. But there doesn't seem to be ANY way to keep a project so you can continue to edit in premiere while you also keep all your color correction??
You can do color correction in AE and export a premiere project but premiere won't recognize the Color Finesse Filter so you lose all you color correction!
Or I can edit the whole project in premiere and open it in after effects to do color correction, but then if there is a single edit change that needs to be done in premiere again i've once again lost my Color Correction to bring it back.
Is this really the case that I can't use these expensive packages together this way? It seems like there has to be a solution! If Adobe just made it so Premiere kept the "links" to your filters in the project, instead of killing an unrecognizable one. Then when you opened it back in after effects after your edit your Color Correction would still be there.
    Any one have any advice?
    Thanks,
    -Ethan

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, all good ideas.
Aanarav, Your idea to just get Color Finesse for premiere I suppose I could do. It's $545 which isn't exactly pocket change, but it would probably be worth it, if there is another way other than breaking the bank book for software I already own i'd like to try to get away with it.
    Steven Gotz
Dynamic link is unfortunately a feature only of the production studio package which is like $1100 upgrade from what I have...so that's kinda out of the question for me.
    Jon Sands
Great idea here. I really thought it might work since premiere seems to use what are called after effects plugin files too. But after copying and pasting for a while it doesn't look like it actually sees it as a plugin anywhere I paste it. :( If anyone knows of a way to get that to work I would be seriously grateful!
I guess it sounds like the only way out is to spend cash, sigh such is so often the case is seems.

  • Premiere Pro 5.5 Multicam Sequence Not Playing

So I'm running into an snag with a project I am working on in Premiere.  Everything was working fine last night, I just finished up color correction and audio sweetening.  However this afternoon when I opened up the project, everything appeared fine (media loaded, no weird error messages), until I tried playing the timeline (edited multicam sequence).  Nothing, then when i tried moving the playhead to a different spot in the timeline, it would take about 20sec before the new location would show in the program monitor.  I tried playing it and still nothing.  I tried opening a clip from my project bin in the referrence monitor and it won't play there either.  Nothing happens when I try scrubbing through the video.
I have tried importing only a single sequence into a new project and same issue.. but if I open up a whole different project the video clips play fine.  I have also tried creating a new project and importing individual clips that are used in my original project and they play fine there, but the moment I tried importing one of my edited sequences, everything stops playing.  The one thing I did discover is if I import one of the original sequences were I synced my my multicam clips, the video plays fine, so it seems like it has something to do with my edited multicam sequences.
Any ideas as to why the edited multicam sequences would not be playing?
    Thanks for any advice!

Was messing around with some stuff and just figured it out.
I hope all this makes sense....
    I have three sequences:
    1. clips synce together (used as my multicam sequence)
    2. edited multicam sequence (8min long)
    3. edited multicam sequence (2min long)
instead of adjust the audio for each individual clip in both sequences 2 & 3, I had simply adjusted the audio in sequence 1, which then changed the audio in both sequences 2 and 3 appropriately.  I didn't think this would have effected anything since I have used the same logic in the past to make my first round of color correction when using a single multicam sequence to edit multiple lengths of as well as the fact that after I first added the eq effect, everything was still working fine till I opened the proejct up the next day.
Apparently that is what was causing the issues, cause I just went in and removed the audio eq effect from sequence 1 and now sequences 2 and 3 play fine.
Fuzzy Barsik- I really appreciate your input and all your advice.  Thank you!

  • Premiere Pro Cropping end of sequence

When I place a clip on the time line it gets cropped on its right side, if I place another clip then the first clip is fine but the last clip gets cropped on the right.
Am I missing something here? And yes if I render it appears in the final render.

That's a feature referred to as the End of Sequence Indicator. Many people on these forums really really dislike it, so they were thrilled to learn that the impending update provides a way to disable it. For now, however, there's is no way to turn it off.
It does not, however get written to your encoded outputs. I'm guessing you think otherwise because you're bringing the clip back into Premiere to view it. Trust me, if you view the clip in another player, the EOS will not be there.

  • Premiere Pro CC - Importing MPEG sequence 720x576

    Hello,
When importing a video from an old DV camera, I have many sequences in 720x576 / 25ips ... When I open these video in CC I get a black border on the right side of the video, about 15 px wide. I am not able to understand where it comes from as long as when I read the sequence in either VLC or other players, I don't have this black border on the right side. It's old video format (.VOB) from an old camera writing on small DVD.
I wasn't having this issue with previous version (CS6). So maybe you could help me to understand what's the issue in CC ?
    Thank you.

Im not even understanding how it should work but i can make a fix.
Yes Premiere is not supporting.... supported file formats correctly. Maybe it should scan more frames or more of them together summing for correct full size and remove assumption formulas?
    [=======================================] < a scan line
    [===----------------------------------------------------===] < 720
    [=====----------------------------------------------=====] < 704
    [======-------------------------------------------======] < 702
Premiere supports, imports and shows video & shows some info about it in metadata and based on that it should show video correctly or analyze somehow how video programming works..
Importing file we see in metadata it recognizes wrong file size but correct aspect ratio. Based from that it should divide wideness with that aspect ration number and then all would be fine.. Thats all the problem.. Programmers were working on theese filetypes right before vacation..
It seems like reason for not beeing on supported format list couse correct codexes are not found for the bug that Premiere shows files wrongly.
Thats right- with file all is ok. Formats here mentioned are from videocameras and playable not only on them but on computer players. With programm Premiere is problem- it doesnt recognize theese formats correctly.
But why only here couse and as it turns out it works in Premiere Essentials..
How not beeing on supported formats meaning its not a bug?
I can open my and here OP file in Premiere so it supports it BUT badly, buggy- cutting off right side or adding black. If VLC can play it then you can ask them for codex.
And here we know its at least 2 files witch can be opened and not having codex.. or at least variant B sollution.

    ===My sandbox===
    720 x 576 in vlc correct 16:9
in premiere metadata shows info 540x576 (1,4587)
    So missing calculation is
    720/540= 1.33333333333
    or 133%
i assume programmers made some kind of rounding formula
rounded 1.3333 would be 1.33 or if rounded to 1 decimal then 1.3
    540*1.33333333333=719.999999998
    540*1.3333=719.982
    540*1.3=702 (coincedence of VOB file)
    interesting that rounding up
    540*1.4=756
maybe with looking up closest ratios like 1,4587
    finds what its now showing..

  • [Adobe premiere pro CS4] Getting started: Sequence settings & more

Hi people, I am new here and I am from holland so excuse me if I make some grammar mistakes
I have been trying to edit movies, for fun and for my mother, but everytime I bounce into an numerous of problems.
So I have listed some questions I or problems I bounced into:
Question 1: What is the purpose of the sequence settings? Is it used to match your source video or is it also for your output file?
Question 2: And what if I put multiple vidoe's in one timeline, with sequence settings do I need then? of multiple sequences?
Question 3: Whitch format do I need to use when I want to burn my modified vidoe to a dvd?
I allready tried some stuff out, but when I saved this dvd to my harddrive or burn in on a dvd it's sometimes laggy.
Question 4: Did I put the quality to high for a dvd and was the bitrate to high to read it for a dvd player? or becuase it was an HD movie?, made by a HD camera. Or did something else went wrong?
Question 5: Which output settings can I use
Question 6: Which output settings do I need to use if I want to put the video on youtube, HD-youtube?
Question 7: Which sequence settings do I need to use when I have a movie with stereo audio and my output file will be an 5.1 audio?
When I am busy with a project I found all these questions, while they are the basics which I need to know. So it would be really helpfull if you guys can answer all of my quenstions
    Thanks allready

  • Having trouble getting premiere pro trimmed clips into compositions

I'm working on a TV intro mashup in the style of the tv show happy days with another editor.  I'm a complete noob with after effects.  I've never used it before for anything.  The other editor has created template in after effects of the record player with compositions of the actor intros in the center of the record and sent me the project.  He's created a composition for each character intro and I'm trying to go in and replace the clips he used as place holders with clips i've trimmed in premiere pro.
At first I was successful by dragging and dropping the premiere pro sequence into the after effects project.  Then when I looked at the sequence composition I could see the trimmed clips and could copy paste the clips I wanted into their respective intro compositions.  I noticed the first time I imported the sequence into after effects and made changes to it in premiere pro it updated in real time.  Now all of a sudden any changes I make to the premiere pro sequence no longer update in after effects.  What's weird is they do update to the extend if I watch the sequence play in the after effects viewer I can see the changes but on the timeline where the clips are laid out the changes aren't reflected and it's showing me an earlier version of the sequence.
So my two main questions are
    1) how come the time line in after effects is no longer updating the changes I make to the sequence in premiere pro?
    2) what is the easiest way to get trimmed premiere pro clips into after effects compositions?

    Question 1:
Since you're so new to AE, it's quite possible that any of a number of things happened without you being aware of it. That and you haven't given much information for troubleshooting. I mean, we don't even know the rough versions you're using, much less minor version numbers. (For example, we don't know if you're using CC 2014, much less if you're running the 13.2 update for AE or not.) Here's some info we would need to help: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/961743
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/961743
    Question 2:
You can choose File>Import Premiere Pro Project and it'll bring the clips in. It won't update at all, but it will give you the clips you need in a way that's easier to deal with in AE.
Alternatively, you can choose to dynamically link a Premiere Project (which sounds like what you initially did). In most cases, I prefer the first way.
Since you've never used AE before, there are going to be a lot of things that frustrate you if you try to plow ahead without a knowledge of the basics. I strongly recommend going through the resources linked here: Getting started with After Effects Granted, there is an extensive set of resources there, but that's because AE is such a deep and complex program. Without a foundation in the basics, you are going to just keep on being frustrated.

  • Roughcut sequence from Prelude does not appear to be "seamlessly" editable in Premiere Pro CC

    Hi,
    Please Help.
I have been working on a film and created the entire rough cut, using both entire clips and sub clips, in Prelude CC. Once I sent the rough cut to Premiere Pro CC, I expected that I could "seamlessly" (as advertised) continue editing the same sequence of clips and sub clips in Premiere Pro. When I drag and drop the rough cut file that appears in Premiere Pro into the Premiere Pro timeline, it appears as a single block (is that what a "nested sequence" is? is there a way to un-nest a sequence?) instead of a sequence of clips and sub clips.
What is worse, the sub clips do not transfer to Premiere Pro, only the entire original clips. Even if I had to re-create the sequence of clips and sub clips in Premiere Pro, it would at least be better if I didn't have to re-do all of the sub clips. This is incredibly frustrating. I hope there is a solution (other than waiting to buy the next version of the same product).
I would give up and assume that the products just were not designed for what I was expecting them to be designed for, except that in the video tutorials, both within Adobe and elsewhere, the two programs seem to work just as I expected them to (that is probably where I got that expectation actually). When the guy in the video sends a rough cut from Prelude to Premiere Pro, It pops up in Premiere Pro as an editable sequence of clips and sub-clips.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere Pro integration, setting variables

Hi,  I have a After Effects project (CS6) and it seems to have a varable (when I click on text in preview windows the words turn to a what looks like a varable name starting in ?).  Two questions.
    1) How do I change the value of the varable in AE?
    2) If I import the project into Premiere Pro can I set varanle form PP?
Did some googeling and looked in forum and no luck.
    Regards,
    Ben

Thanks, I worked out how to do it in AE, I right clicked of Source Text and selected Edit.
Font did exist, all working now.  Shame you cant pass varables from PP to AE, that would make AE components extreamly reusable.

  • After Effects AND/OR Premiere  Pro CS5 ?

    Hi guys,
I am quite new, I have only done one videoproject and that was in Premiere Pro CS4. Now I got a new machine and have both Premiere Pro CS5 and After Effects. I have started learning AE from some videos and it is quite impressing what you can do there.  So I hope I can use AE to  improve my videos.
My question is, shall I do the project in PPCS5 and then connect to AE for making special effects on clips or shall I do the whole project in After Effects ?
If I choose AE for the project, will I miss some functions from Premiere Pro?
    Many thanks in advance !
    Sven

    Thank you guys!
You put me on track, expecially with the link!
From beginning I am just taking care of  old videos that noone look at because not edited so most of the time just crap.
I want to edit them, try to improve color and sharpness but also add some funny elements so they are more interesting to watch.
I have 30 videos from my daughter, each 1 hour and 8 of my own (really crap) and 8 VHS from a friend. That is just to start with.
Start Adobe Premiere Pro from within After Effects and capture footage for use in After Effects. (See Use Adobe Premiere Pro for capture (Production Premium and Master Collection only).)
Use Adobe Dynamic Link to work with After Effects compositions in Adobe Premiere Pro without first rendering them. A dynamically linked composition appears as a clip in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Use Adobe Dynamic Link to work with Adobe Premiere Pro sequences in After Effects without first rendering them. A dynamically linked sequence appears as a footage item in After Effects.
Start After Effects from within Premiere Pro and create a new composition with settings that match the settings of your Premiere Pro project.
Select a set of clips in Adobe Premiere Pro and convert them to a composition in After Effects. "
So with a testvideo I will start using these 5 different methods so I learn when to use which one!
And I also have 4-5 videolessons to watch.
    Thanks again!
I probably be back soon with more questions!

  • Premiere Pro 8.1 won't play sped-up clip in real-time smoothly

Just upgraded my computer to an x99 MB, Haswell E process (5820k), GTX 970, and 64 GB of RAM (only using 24 GB due to nvidia issue with 32 GB ram +).
    I have a few clips from a 5D MKII-III (h264 MOV) that I'm speeding up significantly (2500%).
Premiere doesn't, and has never liked to play sped up clips smoothly for me in real-time. I thought this latest hardware upgrade would help, but same result.
    Has anyone experienced this?
I can provide my clip offline if anyone wants to test it.
My CPU util goes up significantly during playback, but doesn't spike on the new system (only 70% ish).

    Luke,
I ran your .MOV clip in a fresh project, put it on the timeline, and set the speed to 2500%. Observations below were largely the same (most unexpected by the way!) for 3 very different systems (listed below):
Initial playback was dropping some frames, but didn't really look too bad; CPU is definitely working the hardest for this workflow
After changing two rather random things, all 3 systems could play this back with zero lost frames. Settings included: Memory: set so 8GB is available outside of Premiere Pro (default is 3GB), Sequence Setting: checked Max Render Quality box (default is off), and performed a "Render Audio" on the sequence (this takes less than one second and seems to help a bit).
Rather interestingly, this particular workflow actually seemed to work a bit better when MPE was set to software only (GPU off)
Systems tested included (all running CC 2014):
    3 year old x58 6-cor i7-970 with SSD array, 24GB RAM, GTX 480
2x Xeon e5-2687w, 128GB RAM, GTX Titan, single Samsung 830 SSD for everything (OS/Programs/media/projects/swap/cache/scratch)
1x Xeon e5-2687w v2, 64GB RAM, SSD array, GTX Titan
    Questions:
What version of Premiere Pro are you using?
How many dropped frames are you getting when you just playback this clip?
Have you ever tried doing just a small project with just this clip (at 2500%)?
    Regards,
    Jim

  • AVI in Premiere Pro 4.0.1

Can anyone explain why, when I import my avi files into an Encore 4.0.1 timeline, they playback perfectly.
However, when I import them into a Premiere Pro 4.0.1 sequence, they do not playback correctly at all (no display in monitor, audio is heard but is incorrect).
    TIA

Thanks for redoing the G-Spot screen. Don't know why attachments take forever to get out of queue.
Now, the problem with your AVI files is that they are using the Xvid CODEC. This is an open source version of DivX CODEC. Both of these are very heavily compressed CODEC's designed to create streaming media files of a small size for delivery only. They do their jobs well for this one purpose - delivery only.
However, one might be asked to edit this material. First, quality has taken a big hit. It can never be recovered. The only way to edit these is to convert the files to something that an editing application can use and work with. I happen to use DigitalMedia Converter (DMC) to do this, when I get handed almost any footage that is not DV-AVI Type II w/ 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio. Write that down, as it will be your target setting for any conversion program that you use. I like DMC, because it works with almost any format/CODEC that I throw at it (you will need to HAVE the CODEC properly installed for it to work with it - you can use G-Spot to get the official name of the necessary CODEC and then Google to find it), and has batch processing. I can load it up with files, check the settings fire it up and go get my coffee. Depending on the speed of one's machine, the Duration of the files and the CODEC that is used, in no time, you'll have those DV-AVI Type II files. Import them into PrPro and edit away. The one downside of DMC is that it is not freeware. It costs ~US$50, but I love it so much that I own a copy for each of my computers. There are freeware converters available. I do not use any, so I cannot comment on any. There are many recs. on this forum and one many more. With some freeware, you get what you pay for. Still, there are some good programs out there, but you have to try them to see. Many seem to do a good job, and then the audio is gone, or the video stutters horribly. If that happens after a few tries, move on to another freeware conversion program. Don't fight it. Just try another.
The first trick of editing is to always convert any non-standard footage to DV-AVI Type II, before you Import it. Obviously, HD material will differ and there are more choices and more concerns. Take those on a case-by-case basis. I'm only talking SD footage here.
Now, remember that I mentioned "highly compressed" earlier on. This means that the quality has been squeezed out already. You can never put it back. You just have to understand that the result will never be as good, as if you have been given the original source files. Only you can determine if the quality hit is acceptable.
Good luck, and do not hesitate to ask more questions. I hope that the quality of your Xvid material will still work for you. I find the results just bad of marginal, but that's me.
