  • Premiere Pro cc not playing in timeline

I just got started on Premiere pro CC and this is what`s not making sence to me
I have a iMac and my movies are on an USB harddrive
I import some small clip and the movie is about 3 minutes now.
    1) when the headset is pluged in - I can hear sound.. when I disconnect the headset I sometimes can both see and hear the movie. Sometimes I only can see the movie and not hear it.
    2) sometimes the movie would not start to play when I hit the spacebar on the keyboard.
Can somebody help me out here? Is it a bug. This did not happend when I used Premiere Pro cs6.

Check your audio hardware mapping. Premiere's playback will break down if it's told to target an audio device or channel that doesn't exist (e.g. because something was unplugged and a mapped headphone socket has reverted to a default input socket)

  • Premiere Pro CS6 not playing audio on imported MP4 files.

I am editing a series of MP4 clips shot with a Canon Vixia, and for some reason, Premiere Pro CS6 will not play the audio on a few of the imported files. All of the clips were videotaped with the same camera. I know that there is audio on the clips in question, because it works fine when they are opened in Windows Media Player. I have deleted and reimported the faulty files, to no avail. I noticed in the online discussions that several others have had this problem; but I haven't been ablet o find an online fix thus far. I would greatly appreciate advice on this!

I have a Canon Vixia HFS100, which saves AVCHD files to an SD card... exactly what model is your camera?

  • Premiere Pro CC not playing fair with .mov files

I have a CC account and use Premiere Pro on my PC with no issues so far except that the RAM and Graphics card suck. So I decided to run on my laptop running windows 8 rather than 7.
AE runs with no issues (so far), but when I use Premiere Pro it does not like .mov files for some reason.
I imported files from my iPad and it gives me this message:
    Error Message
"The FIle Has no Audio or Video Streams"
To work around it for now, I converted the file into mp4 and imported to edit from there. Now issue is that we need to place a lower third. I have an AE project as the .mov file imports into that no problem, but when I then export as quicktime file for the alpha channel it still will not import into Premiere Pro, same error message.
I can export as .avi but then the file screams 'MASSIVE' as it is over 1.5gb cpmpared to the 32mb as a .mov file.
Bottom line, cannot get any .mov to import into PP on my laptop even though it works fine on my PC. Also, .mov files play fine in AE??
    Please HELP
    Martin

    Hi MartinSalteruk,
    Thanks for contacting Adobe Forums,
As I understood you are only getting issues with .mov files, Please check if you Quicktime player installed on the system.

  • Premiere pro is not playing audio

I'm trying to work on Premiere Pro CS6 and having great difficulty with the Video and Audio. I admit that I have numerous film formats e.g. Canon Mark 11 and Panasonic HDC-HS300 footage as well as Audio from H4n Handy Recorder and WAV audio files. Things have been fine until playback and the video ceases for around 30 seconds and audio.
Initially there was an ERROR message which said something like ERROR: Adobe is Dropping ....  So I changed the Preferences, (no luck), deleted a lot of old files to make space (no luck) downloaded  MacPaw to do a registry clean (zilch)
Have gone back in to do some work and Adobe won't open now.
    Help!!

  • Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.

I have administrator rights to the computer. The drivers are up to date. But I am still getting the error message "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again"  when opening Premier Pro CS5.5. This appears to have happed after I upgraded to Mac OS 10.10.2.
    Anyone?
    Thanks

    Hi Stan.
I had the same problem as you did though I am using Adobe CC.  I saw nobody replied to you so perhaps my eventual success on my later version may have applications to the error on your version.
Anyhow, I did all the suggestions found here (Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup )  first and updated my NVidea card to no avail.  Eventually what did the trick was this...
After mucking about with the video card, I said "OK lets just have a go at Premiere itself." So I uninstalled Premiere CC and reinstalled it.  Now for some reason it didn't give me the latest patch but a slightly earlier version than the current one but lo and behold it was fine with the video card again.  I was able to get my friend's video imported and quickly edited but then was having some issues with exporting where it would hang up but I went into Adobe Media Encoder and exported it there without a care.  That task out of the way, I then went and made the update to the latest patch and it works perfectly fine - no video driver issues.
So short of it is this - if you've updated your drivers, perhaps what you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere.
Let me know if this works.
    Cheers and good luck

  • Premiere Pro is not reading all of the video content in my AVCHD clip. I know this because my computer plays all of the content through Preview, so the information is on the card. How do I get Premiere to read all of the content?

Premiere Pro is not reading all of the video content in my AVCHD clip. I know this because my computer plays all of the content through Preview, so the information is on the card. How do I get Premiere to read all of the content?

First, AVCHD isn't just "one" clip, it splits the video & audio into several files each per clip, typically with randomly generated names. The only way they "play" correctly is if the software doing so is able to read from the data file ...in a different folder ... the information that X clip is actually A, B, D, #@, and 456 video clips and TR, #r54, and ert$%4 audio clips. The next "clip" is ... and on and on. So both rapid access to the video files AND that database file are necessary to play the files back, or do anything else with them.
VLC is a fairly decent but simple playback tool. It's nowhere near as complicated nor demanding in its "relationship" with those clips as an NLE like PrPro, which will be trying to do more reading & writing.
Further, many of the preferences in PrPro are natively set so that it writes project, cache, preview, & database files next to the footage. So ... if it doesn't have both a fast enough connection with the data AND space for putting all of it's own stuff there, it tells you it can't work the file.
Therefore ... the need to have the complete data from the card in the exact same folder structure it was in ON the card copied to a "local" hard drive.

  • Mixing 5.1 in a Premiere Pro CS 5.5 timeline

    Hi,
I want to try and make a project that has 5.1 stereo surround sound.
I have a project on the Premiere Pro CS 5.5 timeline. All of the audio is on Track A1 one and the video is on V1. The Audio track is a Stereo track. If I have a 5.1 Surround Sound System connected to my TV and I play this video as is, will I hear the sound out of all 5 speakers and the Sub Woofer? Or, will it just come out of the Front Left and Right speakers?
To make a 5.1 Mix, can I just take that Audio, and make a new Surround Sound timeline, add the same piece of Audio to the tracks, go to the Audio mixers and assign which track I want to go to which speaker?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Premiere Pro CS 5.5
    Soundbooth VS 5
    Encore CS 5.1

With 2-channel (Stereo) source material, I agree with Jim.
Now, I often create faux 5.1, when presented with 2-channel source files, but there is a fair amount of work, to get it to sound good, and then, it will fall behind mixing 5 - 6 discrete 1-channel files, recorded correctly.
The synthetic Surround features of a newer receiver will yield better results.
Also, to output DD 5.1 SS (DD AC3 6-channel), you would need the Minnetonka Audio SurCode DD 5.1 SS Encoder plug-in, or, and depending on some other factors, their SurCode DTS Encoder (not a plug-in).
I also produce and create music, digitally, and will do many of those compositions in 5.0, or 5.1 at the beginning. That is easy to deal with in PrPro, and output with either/both the SurCode DD 5.1 SS Encoder, or SurCode DTS Encoder.
I'd let the receiver handle things.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • MacBook pro will not play a commercial video dvd?

My 17" MacBook Pro will not play a commercial movie DVD.  The computer appears to referance the disc 5 times then ejects the disc.  I have never played any video on this computer before and I have had the computer for 2 year. I can not get the settings correct or something.   If anyone has any suggestions on this problem please let me know.

Can you describe in a handful of bullet points:
what content you are exporting (slideshows, home movies)
how you did it in Aperture
how exactly you burned it (program, settings, etc..)
We need a bit more info... before you start reaching for your wallet
But I must say, I nearly agree with ClayG on the replacement. DVD superdrives are cheap these days.
Depending on how often you use it to watch or burn, I woudln't even bother having it fixed.
If you use it once a week and are not on the road when you do, just get an external bus powered one - it will likely have a dual USB cable, so you'd need two USB sockets - I got one and it worked well

  • Premiere Pro Does Not Support Audio-Only Capture For Some Formats, Such As HDV?

In the PPro CS 5.5 Help file  under, "Recording audio", it says:
"Note: To capture an audio-only file from a digital video source, choose Audio from the Capture menu in the Logging pane of the Capture panel.
"Premiere Pro does not support audio-only capture for some formats, such as HDV."
I'm shooting in HDV and if I want to capture audio only, would I just need to switch my setting to DV?
The only thing is my Canon HV20's HDV audio is MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2, 16 bit, 48 kHz.
My DV setting is PCM audio, which I think is a better quality format, right?
Would there be any noticeable difference?
    Thanks.

Capture your HDV material in the normal way and just drag audio only from the source monitor to the timeline.
