Premiere Pro CC Not Reading .mov Files from Screenium

Hey
I have a screen capture tool called screenium for my mac. I use it to recorde gameplay and ever since I installed an SSD into my mac I have not been able to read these files .mov files, Premiere only sees the video as green, the audio is intact but the footage doesnt exist as far as premiere is concerned. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere but the problem still exists.
On a nother note that is worth mentioning, sometimes this program does not compress the files as it is suposed to and I end up with 40GB files on my SSD. When I had an HDD I was able to open the files in Premiere with no problem and export them as smaller files.
Any help would be great!
Thanks

  • Premiere pro will not import .mov files

Premiere pro CS3 running on Vista 64 bit will not import .mov files. After Effects CS4 has the same problem, it says I don't have the correct version of Quick Time installed. I'm using the 64 bit version 7.6.4 for Vista. Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.
Now, what is inside that .MOV "wrapper?" This ARTICLE will give you some background on "wrappers." It is mainly written with .AVI in mind, but translates to most AV file formats, including .MOV.
Now, I use a lot of .MOV files and these are all done in the Animation CODEC. Never an issue for me.
One thing that might aid you is the US$30 upgrade/unlock key to QT Player Pro. It can Export as a bunch of useful formats/CODEC's. Depending on whether your footage is SD, or HD, you can Export most to formats that play perfectly with PrPro.
    Good luck,

  • Premiere Pro is not reading all of the video content in my AVCHD clip. I know this because my computer plays all of the content through Preview, so the information is on the card. How do I get Premiere to read all of the content?

Premiere Pro is not reading all of the video content in my AVCHD clip. I know this because my computer plays all of the content through Preview, so the information is on the card. How do I get Premiere to read all of the content?

First, AVCHD isn't just "one" clip, it splits the video & audio into several files each per clip, typically with randomly generated names. The only way they "play" correctly is if the software doing so is able to read from the data file ...in a different folder ... the information that X clip is actually A, B, D, #@, and 456 video clips and TR, #r54, and ert$%4 audio clips. The next "clip" is ... and on and on. So both rapid access to the video files AND that database file are necessary to play the files back, or do anything else with them.
VLC is a fairly decent but simple playback tool. It's nowhere near as complicated nor demanding in its "relationship" with those clips as an NLE like PrPro, which will be trying to do more reading & writing.
Further, many of the preferences in PrPro are natively set so that it writes project, cache, preview, & database files next to the footage. So ... if it doesn't have both a fast enough connection with the data AND space for putting all of it's own stuff there, it tells you it can't work the file.
Therefore ... the need to have the complete data from the card in the exact same folder structure it was in ON the card copied to a "local" hard drive.

My program does not read raw files from mark III

    emac77,
Support for Canon 5D MIII RAW files was announced in ACR 7.1 (Adobe Camera Raw 7.1).
The current stable release is ACR 7.2 while ACR 7.3 is still a Release Candidate (Beta).
Starting ACR 7.2, Adobe stopped supplying a manual download link which was available till 7.1. Adobe Application Manager (AAM) is the only way for you to update to ACR 7.2.
However, here is a direct download link that AAM connects to for the download that you can use to grab the .zip or .dmg (Mac) file. Download and install. See if you're able to open your files then.

  • QTServer 32 problem: Premiere not reading .mov files QT

I am having the cursed fate of Premiere hanging up on Exporter QuickTime Host.prm issue.  I have tried a number of things, including permissions, firewall, etc.  I moved the QTServer32 file and sure enough, the problem with start up was eliminated, BUT of course, then it could not read the .mov files.  Either way, Premiere has stopped reading .mov files.  How do I fix this?

  • Premiere Pro CS6 issues with .MOV files

I am having problems with .MOV files from my Nikon 5100.
They play very choppy.  Multicam REALLY has issues with the .MOV files as it will play ten frames and freeze.  Usually crashing Premiere altogether.
Anyone know how to optimize my system to play these .MOV files so the can be worked with?  I've updated my videocard firmware and Quicktime.

Anyone know how to optimize my system to play these .MOV files so the can be worked with?
The logical steps would probably be:
    Get a better PC
Don't use QuiRcktime but rename the .MOV file to .MPG
Tune your system. Also for Win7: Adobe Forums: Guide for installing and tuning a Vista...

  • Mac OS 10.7 and Premiere Pro CS5 not reading AVI and DV files, not rendering to Media Encoder

    Hi Folks,
I've been wrestling with these problems since I bought my Macbook Pro running Lion (currently v10.7.3). I've had video editing and DVD authoring workflows that have worked perfectly for both CS3 and CS4 with Premiere Pro and Encore. I used to be able to import DV and AVI files and render timelines to Adobe Media Encoder so I can make DVD projects in Encore but it seems there are a lot of broken bits and pieces either with 10.7 or with CS5 or both. I've tired creating new projects or re-editing CS4 Premiere Pro projects that I can still edit with CS4 on my old Macbook Pro with 10.6.8. In fact I've given up on CS5 and I've gone back to my old laptop to edit. My problems with CS5/5.5 are:
1     Can't import DV files - error message saying this is an unsupported format
2     Can't import AVI files - error message saying this is an unsupported format
3     When I export media and try to use Adobe Media Encoder (AME) the render queue doesn't respond to the files being sent from Premiere Pro (PPro). I have to render the files one at a time from within PPro. I have no idea where the queued files go but even if I have AME open it doesn't respond. In CS4 AME would open automatically and wait until I told it to render the files.
4     In Encore I've had trouble burning to DVD. I have to make an ISO file and then burn that using Toast. I'n not particularly fussed about this but while I'm unloading I may as well give you the full picture.
Basically I'm really hating this vcersion of CS5/Mac OS. Lion is like using Vista from what I can tell. On my PCs I went from XP to Windows 7 so I kinda avoided all that pain it it seems the computer gods are smiting good and proper now. I don't care whose fault it is I want Apple and Adobe to fix it or if some kind soul can share their experiences and hopefully how they fixed it I'd be eternally grateful until the next upgrade totally blindsides us all.
Thank you in anticipation --> Mal/Melboure/AU

    Sorry for your troubles.
Pr 5.5.2 is still a bit persnickety for me on 10.6.8, but overall, it's still faster than FCP7 and MC6, and overall pretty dependable.  Imports and plays AVI files just fine.
Lion still isn't ready for prime time, from what I've seen.  Like all Mac OS releases, it probably won't be until 10.7.6 or so.  And that may never happen, becuase 10.8 is purported to be just around the corner.
So, my advice is, if possible, go back to what works, 10.6.8.

  • Premiere Pro CC not sending Audio files to edit on Audition CC

Hey guys so i just Upgraded from CS6 to CC. Before i did PremiereCS6 was sending audio files to AuditionCS6 with no problems. Since yesterday that i upgraded the option is greyed out and i cant do it. Not sure if this is something happening to a lot of people or just me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well if anyone stumbles here for the same reasons i posted i finally found a fix that doesnt involve re-install from another thread. here is the answer it works like a charm.
I had this problem and fixed it pretty quick without the need to uninstall and reinstall.
Look for the default .sesx files in your Document/Adobe/Audition/6.0/Session Templates folder (on Windows 7)
There should be a list of preset .sesx files. Right-click one and set its default application as Adobe Audition by using the "open with" option.
Once I did this I double-clicked to open the .sesx files with Audition, closed it, opened Premiere Pro CC and VUAAA-LAAA the button is available and fully functional.
    Hope this helps someone!

  • AP3 does not recognise movie files from Sony HD camcorder

I tried to import footage from a new Sony HDD camcorder, Aperture uploaded the stills ok but couldn't upload the movies with an error message saying 'Unknow File Format'.
However iPhoto uploaded the movies no problem. The file format is .MPG
If anyone can offer any advice on what I need to change to upload MPG format that would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure the format is .MPG -- Sony HD camcorders are typically outputting AVCHD files, which Aperture does not read? Nevertheless, not sure if .MPG is supported either.
f you open Aperture Help and search on Video, you find the following:
File Formats You Can Import into the Library
Aperture supports most image, audio, and video file formats captured by digital cameras. An example of the file types and formats that can be imported into your Aperture library are:
    • GIF
    • JPEG
    • JPEG2000
    • PNG
    • PSD (8- and 16-bit)
    • TIFF (8- and 16-bit)
    • BMP
    • DNG
    • RAW files from a variety of supported digital cameras
    • AIF
    • WAV
    • MOV

  • Premiere Pro doesn't render .mov file properly

In Premiere Pro 1.5, I drop any .MOV on the timeline. When I play it back it shows about 1 frame for every 10. The sound is ok. When I inspect the file properties it shows 2.99 fps rather than 29.97 like it should.
Also, I get the same choppy behavior in the quicktime player. The file does play ok on 1) other windows computers (quicktime) and 2) through a freeware player called VLC on the "problem" computer.
I have reinstalled quicktime. version is 7.3.1

Premiere Pro can have issues with regard to .mp3 files.  It is best to convert them to .wav files in either Audition or the free Audacity and then bring them into Premiere Pro.

  • Photoshop CS4 will not read Raw files from Nikon D60. [was: No automatic updates for my PS CS 4  on windows (for reading .Nef files)?]

    Hi
I have been using PS CS4 for several years.
Yesterday, I went to PS CS4 help and selected "updates", but I get the message "There are not updates available at this time; Please note that some updates for the following products cannot be determined at this time: Adobe Updater".
I need the updates because I just purchased a Nikon D60 and my Photoshop does not read the .NEF files produced by the camera.
    any idea, please?
    thanks

I need the updates because I just purchased a Nikon D60 and my Photoshop does not read the .NEF files produced by the camera.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
Do you really mean the Nikon D60 which shipped in 2008? Was it purchased secondhand?
The Nikon D60 was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw 4.4.
Photoshop CS4 ships with Camera Raw 5.0 so it can read D60 NEF files out of the box. No updates required.
If you do mean the D60 then something else must be going on. e.g. are you using Nikon software to transfer files from camera to computer?

  • Elements 10 will not read RAW files from my new Lumix G5

All my RAW files taken with Lumix G1 are fine but the RAW files from my new camera (Lumix G5) won't open. What should I do?
Looking at help in E10, it says ACR is version 6.7.0.339
    Elements 10 is version 10.0 (20110831.m.17215)
    Any ideas?

You need at least ACR 7.2 for those raw files, and ACR 7 is not compatible with PSE 10. So you have three choices:
    1. Upgrade to PSE 11 (not the mac app store version, which is stuck at 7.1). If you are considering this, I would wait a month or so, since Adobe historically releases a new version every Sept/Oct.
    2. Use the panasonic software (silky pics?) to convert the raw files and send the resulting images to PSE for further processing.
    3. Download the free adobe DNG converter, which can create DNG files that are compatible with your version of ACR.

  • Premiere Pro CS5.5 importing .MOV files help!

Hi, I have been using this software for quite a while now but this problem has only just started occuring.
When I import video files from either my iPhone 4s or Ipad3 into PPro the monitor preview screen goes green, but when I insert the video file onto the timeline I can hear the audio but the video file itself is just showing green.
When I open the exact same file with WMP, VLC player, FLV player quicktime and so on it is perfect but this only happens when I import into PPro CS5.5.
I also have a handheld HD video camera which records in .MOV format and when I import those files into PPro it works just fine, so it is only the iPhone and iPad files that it does not like!
I'm assuming this is a codec issue?
Please can someone help as this is driving me insane!
    Many thanks
    Dan
P.S, this has only just started happening, I have been importing iPad and iPhone video files into PPro for ages with no problems whatsoeva, I am not aware that I have deleted anything like codecs or anything that would make this start happening. Very strange!

    >assuming this is a codec issue
Maybe... or maybe a Windows update changed "something" that has made your graphic adapter cause problems
So... ATI or nVidia, and EXACT driver version... and, for either, have you gone to the vendor site (NOT Windows Update) to see if there is a newer driver?
    nVidia Driver Updates http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
IF you have nVidia... How to determine your nVidia driver version
Right click in any open area of the Windows desktop
Select NVIDIA Control Panel from the popup window
Select SYSTEM INFORMATION at the lower left corner
Driver version should be the 1st line in Details
    I have a GTX285 using driver 296.10 and Win7

  • Premiere Pro Suddenly Stopped Recognizing .MOV Files

I have been working on a project and it includes an .mov file. Never had a problem with that particular file or any others before. Yesterday, while I was working, Premiere suddenly decided it couldn't read the file and when I put the cursor on it, I got the "Media Offline" screen in the monitor. I like Adobe CC, but this is the second problem I have had this week and tech support is never there when I need it. Well worth the 50 bucks a month. Anyway, has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a fix for it? I am using a PC
