Premiere Pro CC V7.2.1 Lose Audio in AVCHD files

Hello Abobe Users,
I'm working for several month in a video project, using premiere and after effects.
I've worked correctly until last night, but suddently today just open the project I got a message:
Basically says that the footage selected does not contain a media element used by the reference.
Of course windows application works properly with audio & video.
Actions from my side:
- I've red similar post to get some ideas to what to do.
- I've reinstalled both after effects and premiere pro, due to the fact that also after effects was affected by the same problem.
- I've done the steps showed below, and now after effects work again correctly (I can load the same .MTS file without message error)
Premiere Pro still doesn't work....
Please, have you got any suggestion to me?
Thanks in advance for any help
Paul

Hello Jim,
thank you very much for your reply.
I've tried and tried with no results.
At the end, moved by desperation, I've tried to restore win 8.1 to a previous system configuration.
PP starts to work, but don't tell me why.

  • Premiere Pro CC, Dolby Digital License missing for MTS / AVCHD audio import?

    Hi,
I'm running Premiere Pro CC on Mac 10.8.4 importing MTS files captured on a new Panasonic V720 Camcorder that records MTS / AVCHD files.
When I add the files to my project or drop them onto the timeline, the video appears fine but there's no audio and I get the warning message:
"This installation does not have a license to decode Dolby Digital audio".
I've tried switching from 5.1 to 2-channel audio on the camera in case that was the issue, no change.
The file plays fine on the mac with VLC player or MPlayer - mplayer is decoding audio with the FFmpeg AC-3 codec. I've imported MTS files created with other cameras (but presumably with different audio codecs) into Premiere fine with my current setup.
Any suggestions for getting this video and audio to work correctly?
    Thanks!

Hey guys, thanks for the responses.  I have checked my audio preference settings and don't really see anything in there that looks helpful...the following are my settings:
The LG TV is actually hooked up through a 7.1 receiver...I'm not sure why it registers the home theater unit as the tv....but 5.1 does play through my PC just fine with every other program.
I've been playng around with the various export settings and have found that I can successfully export 5.1 audio using the H.264 preset and switching the channels in the audio tab to 5.1.  You cannot, however, do the same with the H.264 Blu-ray preset as it requires the above mentioned SurCode for compression.  I'm guessing that means the non-Blu-ray preset is then uncompressed?
The projects that I'm setting up are very basic.  I'm just using a single mp3 import and snapping it to one of the rear speakers.  While editing, the sound does fade from the front channels but nothing comes out of the rear channels.
I guess I'm just having a hard time understanding why PPCC can export 5.1 but not play it back while editing....
    Thanks again for the responses

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 compatable video and audio formats

I am working on a project that uses old vintage newreel clips and such from the 50's and 60's, they are available for download in several different formats.
I have downloaded many of them but when i import them into my timeline, there is no audio for these clips. They work when i just play them out of premiere. What are the supported formats for premiere pro 2 both in video and audio?
I have made several movies but haven't come upon this issue before.

  • Premiere Pro CC won't import ANY audio file, be it an mp3 or part of an mp4 video (or other formats)

Any audio or video file I drop in to premiere will almost immediately pop up with the window
    Audio Conforming Error
    Error compiling movie.
    Unknown error.
When I check the error/event log (little red X in the bottom corner) that window says:
"11/21/14 09:47:28  A disk error occurred while attempting to access the following files:
    \\ipsse01\home$\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files\filename.mp3 44100.cfa"
(The actual file is on my desktop)
This happens with everything, even the stock audio files Windows comes with in the "Sample Music" folder, I tried those too to no avail.
I'm at a complete loss. I'm new to premiere pro but these are generic file formats so I don't think the issue is with the file. I haven't tried to reinstall because I'd have to go to our one network administrator/IT person (who also is the accountant for the company) so she can enter the admin user name/password in the pop up box, and she's often so busy. I'm trying to avoid bugging her if I don't need to (which unfortunately I tend to still have to do a lot)
    For reference I'm running Win7 Professional 64-bit, 8GB RAM, and an i7-4610M CPU @ 3.00 GHz.

Thanks for responding, but I work for a very small company and since I'm the only one who needs CC, I have the personal version installed.
Also this appears to be a blanket issue with all audio and video file formats, thus not likely a codec issue since the files I've tried so far should be covered by premiere's compatibility, the even play in windows media player with no issue.
Video itself plays fine, but any audio attached to a video, or just plain audio files will not import no matter what I try.
    Sorry my info didn't help.
    Two things to try.
Create a brand new project and test if you can import the problematic files.
If that does not work, change the name of the folder that contains your media files. Then try to import.
    Let us know what happens.

  • Premiere pro 2.0: where is the audio track?

    Hello,
I just uninstalled Premiere Pro CS4, because my processor was too bad for it, and installed the testversion of Premiere Pro 2.0.
This seemed to work fine, but when I imported a normal .avi file (it was a mpg converted to avi), I noticed that the audio track was completely missing What could I have done wrong? (This is the problem with every avi-file I import, the sound works on wmp and i should have the right codecs for it, too, I have the k-lite codec pack. The audio track is simply not visible, you wouldn't guess that there is one, if you didn't know it).
    Please help me

I agree completely with John T. That was why I specifically asked about DivX/Xvid. It is a delivery-only format for streaming Video, and is good for that purpose. It is NOT meant to be edited, and is very highly compressed. Conversion will get you what you need and let you edit, but the quality hit has taken place, and you can never recover that.
When you convert, you want DV-AVI Type II w/ 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio. Do not choose anything else for SD footage.
As for the CFA and PEK files, this is part of Importing an AV file w/ Audio into PrPro. It seldom takes very long to complete, if one is working with DV-AVI Type II files to begin with. Other formats/CODEC's, like WMV's, can take much longer. What often happens is that one Imports the Assets, and they never see the little progress bar, and start editing. Many workstations can do this OK, so long as a Conforming Asset is not used, before it's ready, but often trying to edit, while the process is ongoing, will result in a crash, or a partially Conformed Audio file. That is why I mentioned that aspect first.
Then I kept focusing on your description "AVI." For me, that means DV-AVI Type II, but I realized that it was just as likely that you had chosen another CODEC, in an AVI "wrapper."
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - if you have the original footage, I would just convert that to DV-AVI Type II, and leave the Xvid/DivX for streaming delivery ONLY. If you convert your DivX, you will loose a bit more quality, and since DivX has sucked the quality out already, you do not want to do that.

  • Premiere Pro cs6 to AME - queues up audio only

Hi guys, I'm having an issue whenever I try to queue from Preimere Pro cs6 to AME, and only when trying to queue mpeg2 for dvd, the queued sequences only appear in AME as .aac files for render. So in my presets options in Premiere I select mpeg2 for dvd (ie pal widescreen preset) and media encoder queues up the sequences and will only render the audio (.aac). When I try to change the option to mpeg2 in encoder it sends me back to premiere pro via dynamic link, premiere pro then also no longer will not give the option to render out as mpeg2, rather only the audio of that sequence. Other formats such as h264 send to AME and render without issue. I'm a creative cloud user. Any suggestions?

    See if this helps.

  • Premiere Pro & Media Encoder CS6 exports 0 or 1 kB file

    Hello
I'm start using Premiere Pro CS6 on the Company where I work.
When I export the movie to Media encoder, I get 0 or 1kB file.
    Original File: MUX: MP4
    Type: MPEG Movie
    File Size: 2,8 MB
    Image Size: 640 x 360
    Frame Rate: 25,00 fps Progressive
Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Total Duration: 00:01:07:01
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0
Tried to export (by CTRL+M) in:
    MUX: MP4
    Protocol: H264
    Image Size: 640 x 360
    Frame Rate: 25,00 fps Progressive
    TV Standard: PAL
    Profile: High
    Level: 3
    Then: Queue
    Once Media Encoder is opened:
    I tried already these settings:
"Custom" (accepting the settings passed from Premiere to Media Encoder)
"PAL DV Widescreen" that respects what I need
It renders the video (so it looks like)
Then it gives "Done" with a fully green tick.
But when I click on the file name/path to open it, I find  it at 0kB ... any suggestion please?

It's a different driver than C it's H and I have about 500 GB free. Consider that the video is really short and the source file is very small and not inHDTV at all as you can see from the data I reported in my entry post.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 (trial) interpreting XAVC S as AVCHD, is it normal?

    Hello all,
Since PP CS6 doesn't support natively XAVC S and buying a codec pack is quite a few $$$, I decided to try PremierePro CC 2014.
Now, it can import the files fine. (XAVC-s 1080-60p) but...
However if I make a new Sequence from footage it makes the sequence a AVCHD format. Is that for export purposes only?
My problem is that as I go from frame to frame I am only getting 30 doubled frames, that is frame 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and so on, are identical. Both in the Sequence Monitor window and in the source window, so Premiere is not displaying the 2nd frame... just repeating the 1st...
The same files play well in Cyberlink Power Director (auch!) that is 60 unique frames.
Is this a limitation of the trial? It is pretty useless to shoot in 60p if premiere is only going to interpret it as 30p.
Elsewhere in the forum it just says that Premiere Pro is compatible with XAVC S but no where in the program or the help you can find anything about XAVC S and there are not Sequence presets for XAVC S.
Maybe there are some settings to be changed but Premiere does interpret the footage as 60p but it doesn't show the codec used (or better said, I can't find where it sees which codec
If any of you have any answers, please help!!!
Otherwise it looks like PowerDIrector is a better investment !!

I appreciate the sidebar conversations, and it is valuable information, but I am really hoping to hear from Adobe about why this card is not listed as supported by AE.
Oooh, I can answer this one too!
As of the development and release of CC, they're not working with the ray-traced renderer at all (other than to bring it into each version for compatibility reasons), so no more cards have been (or are going to be) tested and added to the white list.
It may be a bit before someone with the official A logo comes in. This is a user-to-user forum. We are grateful that Adobe folks poke their heads in a lot (seriously, the AE forum gets a lot of love considering how tiny the AE team is), but sometimes it can take a while for them to appear. (Especially if some of them are on holiday.) That's why they have folks like us around; we may not have A's, but we do have M's, V's, and P's
Speaking of the C4D integration: When I visited the Adobe team's offices recently, I got to have a look at some of the new technology they're working on for future versions. I am very excited about the future development of AE. The lines between 3d and compositing are really starting to blur. Some of the things that we are currently missing (expressions to control animation of C4D models, for example) are going to be addressed!
Now, if you are planning to do a lot of 3d work that is mostly titles and that sort of thing, I would suggest seriously looking at Element 3d or Zaxwerks 3d Invigorator. Element's latest version renders extremely fast considering how beautiful it can look. It's mind-blowing, really. (And it uses the GPU!)

  • Premiere Pro CS6 won't recognize alpha channel in .tiff file from photoshop

    Hey Everyone,
I'm new to Premiere Pro, but I have used Final Cut Pro 6-7. Anyway, I created a 3D text design in Photoshop to use on top of another photo in a video in Premiere. In Photoshop, the alpha channel appears fine. In Premiere Pro it is not recognized. Instead, a white background appears where the alpha channel should be. When I layered the 3D text on top of a photo (in Premiere Pro), the white still appears around the 3D text design. After I imported the file, I did click on the .tiff file and clicked on modify---->interpret footage----->alpha channel (where I deselected ignore alpha channel). Premiere Pro still does not recognize the alpha channel. Should I convert the Photoshop file to another format or is there something I'm not doing? I'm spending more time trying to figure this out than I am on putting this short video/photo slide show together. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Thanks Ann!!! Seriously, you just saved me hours of aggravation. I didn't know I had to select that in Photoshop. I was under the impression that Adobe product files were seamless.

  • Premiere Pro v6.0.3 won't accept drag & dropped files from Sony's XDCAM Browser v2.1

Premiere Pro reports a "generic file import" error when I try to drag & drop my video files (.mxf) from Sony's XDCAM browser directly into Premiere Pro project window.  However, I can drag & drop the same file(s) directly from a file folder on my computer and I can also use the "file import" from Premiere Pro drop down menu to import the same files with no problems.
Also, I can successfully drag & drop video files (.m2ts) from Sony's Content Management Utility into Premiere.
But why can't I drag and drop the same files (.mxf) directly from my Sony XDCAM Browser.   It appears to me that my issue is related specifically to XDCAM Browser & the .mxf files it supports (note:  Sony's Content Management Utility does support .mxf files so I can't simply use that Utility).

I try to drag & drop my video files (.mxf) from Sony's XDCAM browser directly into Premiere Pro project window.
You need to use the Media Browser within Premiere
    to import these files.
Copy the entire contents of the media card to an internal drive first.
