Premiere Pro CC with updates or move to CC 2014?

Merry Christmas to all of you!
I'm using Premiere Pro CC and have not yet used any updates. CC has got a lot of problems: in multi-camera you always face synchronization problems, in exporting some effects like Basic 3D you loose sometimes part of a picture, it always rebuilds the sound media caches time & again (conform process) and...
So to solve this, would it be better to use the updates available for CC or to move to CC 2014? I'm not working on the net.
Thanks, Jim.

Hi Jim,
I'm really glad about your answer and now I'm sure that I had been a little bit too sensitive, no wonder in this days. Let's go back to your question. I was sure with my link from above I could give you a good decision aid. You will find there a really good discussion and an interesting controversial debate.
But as I said above, I prefer working with CC, all my 2014 products I replaced with CC if they are offered.
And now here it's time to go to bed! Gute Nacht, bis morgen vielleicht.
Hans-Günter

How can I burn a dvd now that I can't download premiere pro cs6 with Encore?

Here's what you do to get Premiere CS6 + Encore:
Just click here (it's the same link as the more information link in CC.)
    or
Go to your Creative Cloud application (on the menu bar) and go to Adobe Premiere CC and click more information
There is a dropdown menu that says "Adobe Premiere Pro CC" near the top.
Click it and the other option is "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6."  Select that.
Now on the top right corner of the page it has a download button that says "Download Adobe Premiere Pro CS6."
It is included in your CC subscription.
However, a word of warning, you cannot use Adobe Dynamic Link to link to a Premiere CC sequence directly in Encore.  A CS6 sequence still works fine, but if you have a CC project, you will need to encode your sequence into a DVD friendly format (MPEG2 file).  I'm really hoping that Adobe changes this in their upcoming release, and just adds the ability to import CC sequences into Encore, then I would be fine with them not including it in the normal CC package, or updating it.  But I haven't seen anything about it in the release notes.
A lot of people still want their DVDs and it's a lot easier to just dynamically link the sequence.

  • Premiere Pro CC will not import .mov files

Having issues with Premiere Pro CC, I cannot import .MOV files created with my Canon 6D.
If I try to import the files, I get a very generic "File format not supported" error msg.
This is a new install of Premiere CC on a new computer. I was able to import them using Premiere Pro CC on the old computer.
Quicktime will play these files fine on my new computer.
Premiere Pro CS6 will import these files on the new computer.
Premiere Pro CC would open them fine on my old computer.
I'm not even sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
    Here are my system details:
    OSX 10.9.3
    new Mac Pro
    3Ghz 8-Core Xeon E5
    64 GB RAM
Files are on external G-Tech Thunderbolt drive.

That was I was thinking at first, but if Premiere CS6 (installed on the same computer) imports and plays them, they must be on the system, no?
I really do not want to transcode. I have an existing project that uses the videos and the project on the new system will not import them or re-link to the videos. Really trying to get away from having to re-create the project and re-edit.
    Thanks!

After having upgraded to Premiere CS5 and Blackmagic 7.6.4, I am experiencing a short list of undesirable video playback results (that were not present in CS4 with Blackmagic 7.6).  The issues are likely specific to Blackmagic with Premiere, so I'll spare everyone the details for now -- If anyone out there is using a similarly equipped system, please chime in--I'd like to run some of this past you, see if you're having the same issues and troubleshoot either way.  Thanks!

Premiere Pro Timeline with 3 video channels and 4 audio channels, when clip dragged onto timeline audio channels change to 8 channels. Audio track mixer changes too. I edit undo to remove dragged clip and it reverts back to 4 channels of audio on timeline as does the audio mixer?  Any ideas as to why the audio channels and mixer changes?

you can check the clip you are dragging to the timeline, if it has 8 tracks... can check by right clicking it in the project bin, choose modify, audio channels.

  • Slow render time in Premiere Pro CS4 (with fast computer?)

Hello people on the Adobe Forums,
I hope someone can help me with this question, it's been bothering me a long long time now and this week i have to make a decision, or fix the problem and keep this configuration, or spend money for a new cpu (i5 750) and a new motherboard. But i think this computer should do better then it does. I have the following configuration:
    AMD Athlon X2 4600+
    Nvidia GeForce 7800GTX
    2× 1Gb OCZ memory (DDR, PC2400, 250mhz)
    Storage Disks:
    Seagate 320GB SATA (7200, i think)
    WD 74GB SATA (10.000RPM, OS)
    Hitachi 500GB SATA (also 7200, i think)
WD 1TB USB (SATA) (extern hdd)
    WD 250GB SATA (7200, i think)
So, i don't understand the problem, Premiere is running very slow on my computer.. The rendering of a 5min piece of just a random movie takes like 3 hours! Just right now i am rendering some things I filmed with my mobile, it does like 1 frame in 10sec!! On most pc's with this vice versa!
So the cpu is not that old, and neither is the videocard, meaby the memory is a little bit low.. Could that be the problem?
Hope you people can help me out, i searched Google and everywhere but can't find anyone with this problem..
    List of software:
    - Windows 7 Ultimate
    - Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
Drivers are, as far as i know, all up to date, i updated the Adobe programs too..
Describe source material, Codec: XDCAM-EX Movie (mp4)
But like i said, it happens too avi too, it think that was DivX..
I bought this pc second-hand, so it could be that something in the processor is already broken and i didn't notice it at all.. i searched like everywhere and also tried too reinstall the program but that doesn't work either..

Well, I'm helping other people too here on some dutch foras and i hate how people say things like "Doesn't work. Help" and just wait and wait for someone to answer. Plus i want to order my new hardware this evening (10:27pm now here), so meaby that's a 'cause' too, to make you people answer fast! (and it worked! hehe)
So, what i am thinking of right now is to upgrade the motherboard, cpu and ram.. The videocard can wait a little more:
    - Motherboard: MSI P55-GD65 (not sure of this one, good reviews&tests, Asrock P55 Extreme is an option too.. be my guest to do another recommendation) (Asus P7P55D seems like a good option)
    - CPU: Probably an I5 750 from Intel, heard good things about this one.. Although i've always used AMD..
    - RAM: I really don't know, don't see many differences between the RAM sticks.. But yeh: OCZ Gold OCZ3G2000LV4GK
Sorry for no links to product pages, you have to do a little search, i only got some dutch websites, and i know for sure that you all having you're own comparing/specs websites (which i don't know) .
Thank you very much untill now, meaby i get another reply tonight.. Ohye, plans changed, i'm not ordering tonight anymore.. I'll do that tomorrow morning (I'll do a few calls to a view webshops and see if they got in stock, if so, i'm gonna drive (or go with bus) to one of them.. I need it really really quick, need to submit a project from school August 30
    Thanks everyone!
Just took a look at the links you gave me, the Asus P7P55D is an option too!
Took a look at the links, added the "Asus P7P55D".
What i forgot to mention: I got a budget with a max of like €400,- (That's like 510usd, I don't even really have the money) so I can't buy a whole new pc..

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Hangs When Importing .mov

    Hi,
For a few days now I have been trying to import an hour long clip into Premiere Pro CS6. Usually this takes only a few seconds, but lately it has been hanging. It is stuck on a little window saying "Import Files" and the yellow progress bar doesn't appear. I don't know if this has anything to do with the recent update I installed to my Production Premium applications or if it may be my new Blackmagic drivers that messed it up. I have tried waiting out the long import by leaving it on overnight and it has still not fixed it. I even uninstalled Premiere and reinstalled it. Any help would be appreciated.
The codecs of the video are H.264, AAC
    I am also running Mac OS X 10.7.5 on a mid-2011 iMac

My machine is also hanging in the same fashion.   Very, very frustrating when you have editing work to do.  If I reboot, I seem to be able to import a few files but then the next one hangs.
I'm trying to import mov files from my Canon 5d Mark III.
I updated my video driver (that needed to be done anyway) but that didn't make any difference.

  • Completely Broken Playback/Multiple Crashes after Premiere Pro CC 14 Update

I am experiencing a critical error when using the updated version of Premiere Pro CC 14 (Build 8.1.0). When scrubbing through a basic timeline (of any project) I am having trouble even navigating my timeline without crashing my project. When I try to cue playback or render playback, I am met with crunchy audio (even when using different types of audio files, wav, flac, mp3, etc) or the audio is choppy, or it does not playback at all and has completely dropped out. This will also happen with the video from time to time.
I have found the best way to make this update of Premiere crash is to push play in my timeline and move my marker back in time repeatedly. After about 4-5 movement, it will crash. If I jump anywhere in the timeline, the playback with both the video and audio is choppy and drops out. I will try to post a video of this later if my description is not doing it justice.
I am working on a 12 core Mac Pro (2.4 GHz 6 Core Intel x 2) with 20 GB of Ram. I am editing locally. I have an ATI card. I have the most current update of my CUDA drivers. I have tried to change the playback settings, audio and audio hardware settings to the best of my knowledge to help resolve the problem but nothing seems to work. I have also toggled between the MPBE settings when creating a new project to see if this was the issue, it does not seem to be helping in any way.
This update has completely brought my work day to a halt and it is critical that I resolve this issue as soon as possible. An update should not make things worse! I was not having any issues until I updated.
I've attached some screenshots and can post the error report (it's very long so I won't put it in this initial post).
    Thanks for the help!

If you have an ATI card, then why are CUDA drivers installed? Do you use Resolve? Can you try removing them? Avoid installing NVIDIA CUDA drivers on computers with AMD GPUs Though a bug was fixed in 8.0, it may have resurfaced in 8.1. This would be worth testing.

Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 is a major release. As a user, you have to be aware of things like:
Is your GPU driver is compatible with your system? You might need to update the driver.
Are your third party plug-ins compatible with the new version of Premiere Pro? They might not be.
Are your preferences corrupt? You might try resetting preferences.
Are disk permissions current? You may need to repair disk permissions.
Another big issue is that some of the permissions folders may be set to Read Only by OS X. Can you check that out? Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
Also, give us more info on your system. I see an AJA preset in there: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
    Thanks,

  • Premiere Pro won't update to 2014.1 release

Have existing user with Premiere Pro CC 2014.0 release who is working on a project with an external supplier; they now have PP CC 2014.1 release but we can't update our version. Tried uninstal & reinstall - still get 2014.0 not 2014.1 so fresh install on different Mac with CC - still 2014.0 release (8.0.0 (169) build) only available. Quit PP, signed-out of CC, shutdown machines, restarted but still same . Any ideas?!

Thanks, Emil - tried that but Updates was greyed out which seems to be left over from previous CS installs and a security setup made by our previous IT team. Have renamed theAdobeUpdateAdminPrefs.dat to *.old and it now works by both CC desktop app & individual apps via Help > Updates but the internal security setup still requests an admin-level password to apply the updates. Will speak to Adobe again as our reseller advised this would all be handled by the CC desktop app.

  • Premiere Pro CC - Green flickering after .mov import

    Hi all,
I'm trying to import a standard .mov file from my camera (Canon Legria 200hf) from a 32gb class 4 SDHC card into Premiere Pro CC and every time I try I get random green flickering as the video plays. This stays if I export the file too.
I've imported movie files from my phone into Premiere and it's been fine, plus if I import and export the same file with iMovie, it will then work with Premiere without the green flickering.
Obviously that process takes quite a bit of time and I'd much rather be able to just import and get to editing on Premiere.
Any help with this would be hugely appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro - Crashing with OpenCL Hardware Acceleration on Export

    Hey everybody,
One of the major reasons I decided to buckle down and pay for PPCC was the OpenCL Hardware acceleration with AMD cards. I run two AMD Radeon 7870s in Crossfire right now, and I immediately noticed a huge difference in performance when editing. When it came time to export my video, though, Premiere Pro would crash after rendering around 2% of the full video. I've tried both with and without Crossfire activated but using OpenCL with Hardware acceleration crashed my export no matter what. As soon as I turned it back to regular Mercury Playback (software only), the project rendered just fine.
I currently have the lastest AMD drivers and have had no other issues with my card, and I also gave PPCC the latest update as well. Any idea why this might be happening? I wouldn't be surprised if I need to wait for a latest AMD driver in order to get things to work with the brand new CC apps, but I figured I'd farm my question out here just in case. I'm running on Windows 8 64 bit.

Yes. I have problems with my new AMD 1950 3GB. I creat 2h 20 min project on premiere cc and put on all material color correction. NO lumetri. Premiere crache on export about 1h after working.
I was editing AVCHD material and export from presets to Blu-Ray H264 and mpeg2 with the same result.

    Project: veloci raptor 250GB

When I switch to my old card - nvidia - GTX470 everything just go fine and my export is finish perfectly.
I was using beta driver from amd 13.4.
It is confusing because I bought that card especially for Premiere CC, and I was thinking to bought second one, and maybe more...
Please help what can I do with it.

  • How do I export a Premiere Pro CS4 file as a *.mov file?

    Hi,
I got Premiere Pro CS4 some time back and never got round to properly learning to use it.  I've picked it up again and have put together a small video sequence to ensure I can create something simple for a start and that it publishes fine but I've encountered a problem at the publishing stage (and I want to use it in After Effects so this is irritating me):
    * I've finished the sequence and it's on my timeline in unexported form
    * I then click File-Export-Media to go to the export settings
    * In the settings I export as a Quicktime *.mov file and both the video and audio check boxes are checked and ready to go
    * The quality is 100% and the output name has a legitimate path on my computer
    * I click 'OK' and the save window closes and a smaller window says 'Exporting data/file/whatever it should say'
    * I then search for the saved file on my PC,  first in the path the save screen said,  then using the search box in the windows button and I find it hasn't saved anything and told me it has done
Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to properly save my video on my PC as a *.mov file?  I looked on Youtube and a tutorial suggested I was doing everything right but I just can't see why this isn't saving properly.
    Advance thanks.

What version of Apple's QT Player do you have installed?
What CODEC did you choose with your MOV Export?
    Good luck,
    Hunt
