That's not what you asked. Perhaps asking a specific question will get you closer to a specific answer?
The titler does not crash for me at any stage of the Adobe updates for Premiere Pro, including 3.2.

  • FCPX keeps crashing when I try to do anything on the timeline.

FCPX keeps crashing when I try to do anything on the timeline. A render has frozen, which has made the image stick (no longer a moving image).
I've tried to copy the good section (to start a new project with) but it crashes then too. I have plenty opf processing and HD space.
Any help appreciated as I'm in the middle of an edit
    Thanks.
    Steve

Start by trashing your preferences and by trashing your project render files.

  • Everytime I drag a clip onto the timeline and it like scales up?

Okay, so ya know when you drag a clip onto the timeline and it asks you if you wanna change the sequence settings or keep them. I usually keep them but this time I checked dont ask again and now its zoomed in and I feel stupid!

W cant help much with feeling stupid...
But create a new sequence and start again is what we might advise.

    As Tom states, that's interlacing.
Interlacing was invented when the TV was born, to carry 1/5 the frame with each Hz of the electricity rating. In the US, that's why you use 30 fps (or 29.nnn) in the US and we use 25 fps in europe as the electricity is 60Hz/50Hz.
Interlaced video should ONLY (I repeat ONLY) be used for analog TV signal transports.
Each and every digital TV set today, including all the computer screens, is Progressive, updating the full frame at each screen refresh. And most TV's even refresh much quicker, newest TV's refresh a 800Hz..! (giving then problems with the newest LTE spectums..)
If your source media in interlaced, ask why! And stop shooting interlaced.. ;-)
If you have interlaced video, make sure you apply the DeInterlace setting when you import and transcode it.

  • Premiere Pro Crashes when editing HD

Okay so I'll try to be as detailed as possible with this annoying problem. I have a problem with an hd project I'm working on. I have the project loaded up with about 30 gigs of HD footage shot on a JVC GZ-HD7. The one with the notorious .tod files. I have converted them all to what I believe is mpeg2 with mpeg stream. When I open the project I can use it for a moment and then if I click on a second clip to drag it to the source window, Premiere crashes. I do not know the specs that this camera records at so I just guessed on them, here is what I'm running.
    Desktop
    29.97 fps
    1920x1080
    square pixels
    progressive scan
    30 fps drop frame timecode
    48kHz audio
I am on a PC running a 6600 quad core intel, x64 vista ultimate, 8 gigs of ram, and a 768 mb nvidia 8800 gtx.
Every time it crashes it says: Adobe Premiere has stopped working
it gives me two options, 1) check online for a solution and close the program and 2) close the program.
When I hit close program, it closes, then pops up the exact same dialog box to which I must again hit close program, though to my eyes it appears to be closed already.
So my theory is that my settings are wrong, but I don't know how to fix it. Should I change the frame rate to 23.9... for the HD stuff? My editor almost never gives me problems in premiere or after effects so I'm guessing it's user error. Help me please!

Harm, On the camera I record in FHD which as I understand it is the emerging term for 1080p. If I record in 1080p shouldn't i be recording in progressive scan? I am confused. Should it be set to something different? All I know is that it crashes premiere, very quickly. This is why I think I have the settings wrong, in premiere the footage looks right and plays fine but crashes within a few seconds to a minute, usually when I am playing a video in the source window and either hit stop or try selecting another clip.
Jim, I converted using mpegstream and a quicktime alternative v1.81. I got the workflow on the adobe forums I think Steve Mullen was the originator, but I will try out the avchd upshift. Is the avc codec different than the .tod compression my camera uses? I am assuming that it will have no problem converting from .tod. What format would you guys recommend I upshift to? AVI? Mpeg2?

  • Premiere Pro crashes when writing marker notes

I'm on the trial version of Premiere Pro and when I place a marker on a clip in the source window, then write a note for it in the marker tab of the browser window, it quits repeatedly.  What's up with this?  I thought I could use markers in this way.
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum, Sharon.
What exactly do you mean by "the marker tab of the browser window"? Are you referring to the Markers panel in Premiere Pro? What happens if you double-click the marker icon, which opensthe Marker dialog, and type there?
What kind of content? Please check whether the files are write-protected, locked, etc., and whether you have the necessary user privileges to modify the files. (This could be important because clip markers are written into the files on disk, though I've never heard of PPro crashing on account of files being locked or something in that vein.)
Do you get an error message or a crash log?
    Exactly which version of PPRO?
    What operating system?

  • Premiere Pro crashing when trying to open a project

I get this message when trying to open any of my projects:
Here are my specs for my computer:
I do not have a graphics card at this time, I am running on the onboard graphics on my motherboard which is the Gigabyte Z87X-HD3 ...
I am fully updated with latest drivers, adobe cloud, and program updates.
N.B. I did not have this problem until installing Premiere Pro CC 2014, prior versions worked absolutely fine on the same machine which is puzzling to me.

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1150 - GA-Z87X-HD3 (rev. 1.1) indicates an Intel graphics chip
Since Windows update is not always accurate, have you checked Gigabyte and/or Intel for a newer driver?

  • Premiere Pro Crashes when I open the titler

I just formatted my computer and reinstalled the CS3 suite on XP Pro with SP3.
When I open the titler and click on a font, Premiere crashes.
I think it may be the 3.2.0 update.
Is there any way to uninstall it?
Or to get it not to crash with 3.2.0?

  • Premiere pro crashes when opening project

Premiere pro project crashes when opening. I have an imac running OS 10.7.3 (8GB Ram, AMD Radeon HD 6970 2048mb) and have Premiere Pro 5.5.2. I have had 2 projects that I have worked on for hours and saved numerous times and then when I closed pp and tried to reopen the file the screen goes white and then crashes. Please help.

    Ann, THANKS for replying!
If I open a brand new project, which I could do before, and then IMPORT a previous project, it works and I can edit and export the project.  However, it did crash upon trying to save it and I still can not just open a previously created project.  When I do I get an error message that Says: "Premiere has encountered an error and needs to close down.  We will attempt to save your project."
Do you or anyone else have any ideas?

  • Premiere Pro crashes when scrolling in Icon View

    Dear Adobe Community,
My Premiere Pro CC crashes EVERY TIME when I switch to Icon View from List View, almost as soon as I start scrolling through the Icons/thumbnails.
I have all the latest updates for my Mac, Premiere Pro CC and my nVidia CUDA drivers. Also, my Renderer is set at the CUDA setting.
I would greatly appreciate someone's help. Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Dave

What is the pixel size of the photos?
Try updating or rolling back your video driver.
    Try disabling GPU acceleration.
