Premiere Pro Crashing on Startup

Hello,
I am having problems launching Premiere Pro CC 2014. I am using OSX 10.10.2. Every time I try and start the program and open a project, it starts to load and then it instantly crashes. I am not having any problems with any other CC programs. It should be noted that I am using GTX 970 Graphics Cards 2x SLI. Any suggestions to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times.

Try this..
Try holding down the ALT key while you launch Premiere. It will reset the program's preferences. I've had to do it a few times when things got weird.

  • Premiere Pro crash on startup - Sony Vaio

Hi. I have had Premiere Pro CC 2014 - Trial version working for the past 4-5 days (~19 Nov 2014), but now it crashes on loading at the splash screen stage with the following signature. [Note it takes about 30-60 seconds to get to the splash screen when loading].
I've re-installed the video drivers (as per a previous post), but the problem isn't fixed. I haven't installed anything else except MediaFire, but this didn't cause the crash previously and don't allow it to load on boot. Windows 7 is updated fully again today. Will I have to do a clean boot and then see if PP works?
    Any help appreciated.

Removing amdocl64.dll has allowed PP to load.
Like others, I'd like to know what this dll is, before deleting it completely.
I'll keep searching Google. Many of Google links head back to sites similar to this one without any info on what the DLL is for.
(I generally know what a DLL is). Perhaps it is linked to an AMD CPU (I don't have) or GPU (I doubt I have).

  • How do i fix CS4 Premiere Pro crash on startup?

Used to work fine. Havn't used the software in a year or so.
Tried reinstalling. No luck. Tried downloading all the available updates and they installed but when i restarted the program it still shows version 4.0.0!
Then after the opening version screen immediately crashes.
Tried trashing prefs. No luck either.

After de-installing use cleaner tool then re-install.

What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information

    Hi justinB,
    Welcome to the Forums.
Please go to the location of the mentioned aticfx.dll and move it to your desktop. This file might be a result of bad installation of Graphics Drivers. Please launch the Premier Pro and check if it works.

My project was saved in Premiere Pro with the cursor stuck on my new time-lapse sequence. Now, Premiere Pro crashes when I try to open the project....Please help URGENTLY?

    >It may be a corrupt font, but I have thousands installed. Is there any way to test for that?
Reply #8 was specifically to address this question.
    >I basically wanted to know if this is a 3.2.0 issue or not.
That's not what you asked. Perhaps asking a specific question will get you closer to a specific answer?
The titler does not crash for me at any stage of the Adobe updates for Premiere Pro, including 3.2.
    Cheers

Check for corrupted or poorly-constructed fonts installed on your system.  A free font manager like the ones listed here:
    Best Free Font Manager
can help with that.  I use FontFrenzy.  Start troubleshooting by using your font manager to make a backup of your current font installation, then pick half of the fonts and delete them.  Go into the Adobe apps and see if you still get the error.  If not, then you know the problem font is in the half you deleted.  Restore them and delete half again from just that group.  And so on until you find the bad font(s).
