Premiere Pro CS3 Capture Problem with Audio

Setup:
Premiere Pro 3.2.0
Video Capture Device: Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro capture card
Audio Capture Device: HT Omega Claro Plus XP
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit
I am able to capture video with Premiere with no issues.  However, the audio does not get captured even though it is set to capture both audio and video.  I am configured for ASIO capture and playback.  Strange thing is that I can load Adobe Soundbooth and it will capture the audio just fine (from the same input stream as I'm trying to do with Premiere).  What gives?  I'm almost out of options.
From what I can see, when I hit F5 and go into capture mode, Premiere seems to insist that it must capture audio from the blackmagic design audio ports, and even though I have the audio explicitly setup for the Claro in audio hardware, if I go into the capture settings, it still is set on "Blackmagic Capture" as the capture format, and when I go to settings, I can pick the audio channels to capture, however.... I don't want to capture with the blackmagic for audio.   The capture format MUST be "Blackmagic Capture" or else I can't capture the video.  It still doesn't make sense though, since I have the audio hardware set for input from the claro ASIO.  It shouldn't force Blackmagic audio.
Any ideas?  Please help

Some additional information:
Sound card is a Claro Plus XT not XP.  Used to typing XP heh
Also, the video capture works with the included blackmagic capture software, as well as freeware solutions like VirtualDub and a Japanese freeware program I use.  I'm able to capture video and audio without issue on those.  Just don't know why Premiere doesn't do it...

  • Premiere pro cc 2014 problems with audio

I have edited some sequences in premiere using sony xdcam ex clips. The clips where recorded as 1080 50i. I have edited it in the same sequence properties as premiere sugested it. All there is fine and audio is playing well. The problem strats when i change the sequence properties and select it at 1080 60i or 29p. The audio is distorted and it sounds like robotic, sometimes audio is muted on audio transitions. When i revert the properties back to 50i then all is fine.
Anyone else experience the same problems?

Sometimes i must add some clips that are recorded on canon 6d on 29.97p. and this clips look choppy and jerky on 50i sequence. But on 60i sequence both 50i and 29.97p look good. On premiere cc i cann change sequence properties without any problems with audio, only on cc 2014 that audio problem exist.

  • Premiere pro CC (2014) problems with audio on .mts files

    Hi,
This is a recent problem I have been having when trying to play certain clips in Premiere Pro CC (2014), I import the entire private folder and some of the clips play as normal and others seem to have skipping audio. This causes the second half of the clip to not have any audio in it at all because it is bunched up at the beginning. I don't even know where to start with trying to fix the problem, the only thing I have done is re import the files and put them in new folders to change the destination it has been imported from.
Any advice would be extremely helpful as it is mostly stopping me from getting on with any work,
    Thanks!

    Hi amber1992,
I will suggest you to go ahead and clean the Media cache and Media cache files folders manually.
MAC OS: Click on Go menu>Go to Folders>type ~/Library and click ok. This will open User Library folder and then navigate to Application Support>Adobe>Common>Media Cache and Media Cache files. Delete all the files from these folders.
Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common or you can Click on Start button and in search type %appdata% and open Roaming folder>Adobe>Common>Media Cache and Media Cache files.
Once done launch the project again and check.

    Vinay

  • Premiere Pro CS3 capture error after Aug 09 vista update

im using premiere pro cs3 on two PC's running vista.  after the last vista update last week, i can no longer import HDV or DV from my HV30.  both PC's detect the camera and ask to import into windows movie maker or other programs, but when i open premiere pro cs3 and click on capture, both PC's refuse to acknowledge that a camerat attached.  is anyone else having this error?  if so, have anyone found a soultion to this error?

Strange as it might sound, I'd also install the latest audio and video drivers. OS updates can kill these in a heartbeat. Test afterwards.
It sounds like Vista is seeing the camera OK, but I'd check just a bit deeper. Go to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager (or whatever Vista might call it?), and with your camera attached and turned on, navigate to it. Open up the window for that device and check every panel. Any warnings, or errors anywhere?
In PrPro, check all of the Capture Preferences. Anything amiss there? Anything changed, since the update?
As a test, create a current Restore Point (do not trust that Vista has done this for you - do it manually to be sure), and then choose a Restore Point from before the Update (I'd actually go back several, if possilbe). Use that and test again. Does PrPro now see the camera and does it Capture as before? If the earlier examinations do not point up something, and this test shows that PrPro CAN Capture, you have at least narrowed it down to the Vista update.
    Good luck,

  • Premiere pro cs3 doesn't place audio into the corresponding video track

It places a video clip with audio in the Video 1 track, the audio is not automatically placed into Audio track 1 but it goes to Audio 2 or 3 or 4. I checked settings both Project and Preferences but have not clue what may cause this problem. Any help would be greately appreciated.
I have Premiere Pro CS3 running on Vista home premium. Thank you

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Capture Question (Firewire to USB Converter)

Does Premiere Pro CS3 support capture through a Firewire to USB Converter?  More specifically, we have one particular PC laptop that does not have a firewire port, only USB 2.0.  So we were thinking of getting a firewire to USB converter.  Will that work for capturing footage from our Mini DV camera?
Camera is Canon XH-A1S HD and a firewire cable will be running from this camera to the firewire to USB converter, then a USB cable will be running out of the converter into the dual core laptop with Windows 7, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 460M video card.
    Thank you!

Might work then again it might not. Have not heared of any positive results. In other words imo its a waste of money.
You need a real firewire connection.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 won't import audio on an avi file

I just recently borrowed a friend's HD camera to film some scenes for a video. I had to import them onto my computer using a converter because my computer is a windows vista (  >:(  )  and the files on the camera are MTS files (they aren't compatible with CS3 anyway).
The first time I converted these files to avi files Premiere read them perfectly fine and also allowed me to use the audio that was with them. I soon decided though that the audio and video quality that I had converted them into was rather crappy so I converted the files again to much high quality (video bitrate 10000 kbps and audio bitrate 448 kbps).
By this time, I decided the video quality was what I wanted so I deleted the files off my friend's camera and returned the camera to him. (Note: the files played perfectly fine in windows media player and several other video editing software that I possess)
I opened Premiere after taking the camera back and discovered (to my disappointment and frustration) that whenever I tried to import the new files, Premiere would only import the video and not the audio. I would place the file on the video track and the audio wouldn't import onto the audio track.
Could this be a problem with the project preferences I chose? Or is it something else? Is there any hope of getting it to work?
One option I've considered doing is converting all the audio on the files to a different format or converting the video files to another format but my harddrive is running out of space as it is and I could lose quality by doing that.

(Not to mention the time it would take to reconvert the files. I've already spent several hours converting it from the camera. At the moment I also do not possess a solid avi converting program that I could trust.)

  • Premiere Pro CS3: Many Problems Fixed By Upgrading to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I recently installed an SSD drive and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
Installing the Adobe Master Collection CS3 went smoothly and only took a few minutes instead of an hour, as in the past.
Premiere, for the first time in the years I've used it, runs STABLE. Not only that, but I can have AfterEffects open at the same time. And Maya 2008. And everything chugs along smoothly.
Case in point tonight: Multicam Editor: Under XP, it worked, but the quality of the video displays would be badly pixellated when video was playing. Under Windows 7, all the four viewports plus the 'online' viewport are sharp and clear and I can see if a camera is slightly out of focus, which was impossible to detect in the past until I watched the finished result.
The audio dropouts everyone complained about for years are a thing of the past.
And here's the biggie: I can render, render, render and keep rendering h.264 files and Premiere keeps ticking. Under XP, 2 to 3 files and that's it. Unknown Error would be the next render result. Under W7-64, I rendered all night and day without shutting or restarting Premiere, and I even had Maya and AE going and was working in them at the same time, something I could never do in XP because it would run out of RAM. And I can do this in 4GB ram! With 8GB, AE renders 3.5X faster, but most other programs remain about the same. I figure in the case of AE, it has EXCLUSIVE use of 4GB ram all to itself on an 8GB system. At any rate, die-hard CS3 users, don't be afraid to upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit.
The only thing you need to do differently is put the Postscript fonts in Adobe's fonts folder, as it won't see the Windows\Fonts-located PS fonts.
My 2008-vintage editing workstation breaths new life, like a major hardware upgrade was done. The "$139 system performance upgrade" I call it. (Sure, adding the Intel 320 SSD helps, but mainly with launching programs--once they're running, the main improvement comes from Windows 7 64-bit.)

Actually, Win8 is really not a tablet OS... it is "essentially" Win7 with a different front end http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1101032

  • Screen capture : problems with audio quality & volume

    Hi all ,
I'm quite new with Arch (I installed it 1 week ago) but I'm a quite veteran debian user (since 10 years)...
I'd like to produce screencast for my students , so I 've made some tests with xvidcap & recordmydesktop, they were fine
I 've decided to add sound to these first demos and that 's here that difficulties come...
My laptop is a Sony VAIO VPC Z1 (quad core i7 , 8Gb of RAM , 500 gb harddisk, with an hybrid graphics card i915/Nvidia M 330)
    Soundcard is well detected :
    \ └─(\ 1:\ 10:03\ :%)─\ ─\  lspci|grep -i audio                                                            ──\ (lun.,nov.29)─┘

01:00.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1)
they are seen in the cards file:
    \ └─(\ \ 10:10\ :%)─\ ─\  cat /proc/asound/cards                                                           ──\ (lun.,nov.29)─┘

    1 [NVidia         ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xd1000000 irq 16
    My problems are :
    - it seems that my alsamixer are lost each time (preferences for each channel)
    - I don't know what channel to use while recording because I've got :
    record
    record1
    record2
    digital
    micro
    micro boost
    ouch...
I 've tried to make some sound  capture with a Plantronics (earphones + micro ) using my front connectors (2 jack )
    Results are very confusing:
    - with audacity , sound is quite good
    - with recordmydesktop, noise leveel is very high, I can't figure out how to filter the signal
    - with xvidcap ,the man page is not very informative for options to capture sound
    So your feedbacks are welcome...
It's my first attempt to do multimedia with Linux (I use it for programming Java/C++ and for documents editing in LateX)
    Thanks
    jerome

It does appear to be a bit tricky to get the Mac to always recognize this key combination. Especially if Space has another function related to that window, such as Quick View over a Finder window. I could not get consistent results when using the key combo, sometimes it worked first time, many times nothing.
But there is another way to get screen shots. There is the Apple Utility Grab in the Utilities folder (Apps/Utilities). It will help you with all the screen shots the key combos take.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 having trouble with 24" monitors

Can anyone tell me anything about using a 1920 X 1200 resolution with CS3 products?  I try to open PPro CS3 on my new 24" monitor and it crashes.  I have a 768Mb Nvidia Graphics card and the latest drivers installed.  I've tried resetting the resolution to 1600 Xx 1200, 1024 X 768, etc... all of them.  Crashes every time.

    Just me today I guess.
The solution to this problem is simple.  Download and install the latest Adobe PPro CS3 3.2.0 patch.  50 Mb download, 20 second install time.  Everything works great now!

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Export problem. help please.

is it normal when i try to export in H.264 Blu-Ray format, there's 3 files created when finished?
    Sequence 01.m4v
    Sequence 01.m4v.xmpses
    and Sequence 01.wav.
and when i try to open m4v there's no sound?
    maybe its really for Blu-Ray.
there's really no way to export it with good image quality for youtube and ESPECIALLY, best sound quality ( at least PCM 16-bit 48-Khz or higher )
im REALLY surprise it can't export in AVI.

    Welcome to the forum.
In your Export setting, go to Multiplex Settings, and chose anything except "None." Then, you will get a multiplexed file, with both the Audio & Video Streams in one file. See this article for more detail: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3557964#3557964

  • Premiere Pro v4.01 Problem with Mercalli

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Major Problem

Alright, before I give you my problem, let me supply you with my pc specs:
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
    6420 @ 2.13GHz
    2.0 GB RAM
    49/140 GB Hard Drive
Ok now to my problem. Today I finished a 4 minute long video. I used the Adobe Media Encoder to render my files and when it was at about 74% complete, my entire system/computer shut down. This has never happened to me before and I have rendered files of even larger length and size and there has never been any problem. I tried multiple times with multiple different file types and still, it shuts down. There are no special effects, no titles, no anything. Just pure video. The third time I rebooted my system and tried rendering my video, I opened up the task manager and noticed that before the rendering, my CPU Usage was at an average of about 5%. I started the rendering process and that 5% shot all the way up to 100% and stayed that way until my computer shut off. By this point I was out of my mind. I installed spyware removers, installed registry cleaners, defragmented, cleaned up my disc, turned off my virus software, etc etc etc. Still, nothing. Keep in mind, this is NOT an overheating issue. My computer is doing just fine with heat. Finally after about the 10th time I gave up and came here. Any help?

This ARTICLE in the PE Tips & Tricks sub-forum might help you gather some clues.
when it was at about 74% complete, my entire system/computer shut down
This is often a sign of:
1.) System heat issue. SpeedFan can help you monitor this
    2.) Power supply issue
    3.) MoBo issues
    4.) Physical RAM issues
I'd also check the free, defragmented space on your HDD. Rendering/Export creates a lot more files, than what you end up with, as the process is happening.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
