Premiere Pro CS5.5 Not Showing Correct Video in Sequence - URGENT

I have been working on a film that I need out by next Wednesday and for some reason Premiere is showing the WRONG videos in the timeline/viewer.  I have done numerous edits in After Effects via Adobe Dynamic Link.  It replaces other video with random clips I've done edits to in After Effects via Adobe Dynamic Link instead of the correct video file, either edited in After Effects via Dynamic Link or just a plain video clip without editing in After Effects.  This is extremly frustrating in that I have to have the film out by next week and this has never happened before!  Any response is welcome!!

when I try to open a changed name comp in After Effects, it automatically directs me to another project and I didn't even click open
Do you have multiple AE projects that contain comps with the same name?  For example: Project01 contains comp01, and Project02 also contains comp01?  If so, you'll have to sort that out as well.  Give the projects and the comps in them unique names if they will all be used in the same Premiere Pro project.
Consider using a single AE project that contains all your linked comps -- it will make the Replace With After Effects Composition command in Pr less useful, but it may help simplify and organize things overall.
Once all of your AE projects and comps are re-named, you may have to go through your Pr project and manually re-link all of the AE comps.  Maybe I shouldn't have said "everything will sort itself nicely".

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Capture not working, capturing as MP3

I'm using Project Setting of HDV and Sequence Settings of DVCProHD HD1080i 50 (this says it is the preset for Panasonic P2 cameras, mine is Sony as above but I have no other generic HDV settings).
The video plays through the Capture window fine and looks like it is capturing as .mp3
When I stop the capture the file does not appear in the Project window as I think it should.
I've gone to File > Import to bring the file back in. It is there but when I do this there is a File Import Failure message saying "there was an error decompressing audio and video"
Any help would be great I need to export the video as soon as possible.
Also, as  I have no generic HDV or Sony preset Sequence Settings if you could tell how to add them/update Premiere that would be great.
    Many thanks.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 will not install on a brand new PC

I am trying to install CS5 on a brand new PC running Windows 8.1 Pro . The installer says that my computer does not meet the requirements to install Premiere and AfterEffects. However, I know that the hardware meets at least the minimum requirements. Any ideas on how to bypass this and install the two components? THanks.

  • Premiere Pro CC QuickTime DNxHD showing red video since last update

I had to re-export some media at a lower bitrate and opened a project file I started back in November to find two of my clips show a red screen where the video used to play fine. Both .mov clips have the same properties:
    Type: QuickTime Movie
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Frame Rate: 23.976
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo

Any idea why this would have stopped displaying correctly in the past couple months? This is happening on both of my Windows 7 64-bit workstations, running the most recent versions of the cloud apps.

Not that this will help, but I'm having the same issue with a batch of Avid DNxHD Quicktimes I just received for use in After Effects.  I'm having a problem with bright areas of the video turning magenta when used in 16 bit color space in AE CS6 and AE CC.  So I thought I'd bring the clips into Premiere CC to see what they looked like.  The clips start and end with a frame of white, with video in between.  The white frames show up, but all of the video is 100% red.
The clips look fine in Quicktime player and Final Cut Pro 7.0.3

A bug maybe?  As a test I ran the clip through After Effects, outputting one Quicktime with DNxHD 220, 10-bit and one with DNxHD 145, 8-bit.  Both play fine in Premiere Pro.
If I make a snippet of the clip in Quicktime player the resulting clip plays as red in PP, and exhibits the artifacts in AE.

  • Premiere Pro 5.5 Not Showing Entire Recording

When I try to open a recording in Premiere to edit it it only shows the first minute or so of the video, while opening in other programs (MPC, VLC, etc.) renders the entire recording. VLC actually says the AVI is broken and needs to be repaired, and that there may be problems with seeking, but doesn't give any other information. It still works in VLC despite the error message however, and seeks just fine. I haven't had any luck researching this on Google so I thought I would try here and see if anyone else has experience this issue.

    Ok here is the info.
Premiere Pro Ver. 5.5.0, no updates.
    Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit
    6GB of ram, Core i7 920
    nVidia GTX 470
Not getting any error messages, I have a Canopus ADVC110 capture device that I'm capturing analog video with.  I'm using the capture tool in Premiere with default settings, except that device control is turned off.  I get no errors or notices when the capture is running or when I make the files.  However when I go to import the clip into my timeline the duration is less than a minute long.  When viewing the file in other program's it is fine, even in another editor like Vegas.  I have several clips that exhibit the same behavior.  Occasionally I have a clip that works fine without the duration issue, but I'm not sure why as none of the settings for the capture have changed.
The clip I'm looking at currently is roughly 15min long and shows up to be about 43sec in Premiere.

  • Premiere Pro CC features not showing up

I purchased a Creative Cloud membership today and was expecting the version of Premiere Pro to be different, particularly to have the feature that syncs audio in multpiple clips, but the software appears to be exactly the same. Are those new features I've seen in the videos not available yet, or am I missing something. How can I tell if I have Premmire Pro CC and not Premiere Pro CS6?

  • Premiere Pro CC could not find capable Video Module

Hello, I have looked all over for the answers to this problem and nothing I have found all over the forums is working. Here is what my system is:
    CPU: Intel i7 960
    24GB RAM
    GPU: Quadro 4000
I have the latest drivers for the Quadro which I updated after I suddenly got this error I think after I did the latest CC Update.
The error is: Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.
I have only seen people that have AMD/ATI cards get this error or people that have the switching technology in laptops.
    I have done the following:
    Updated Video Card Drivers
    Run As Administrator
Checked to Make Sure My Card Was In The Supported Cards List (I already knew it was because everything worked before.)
I don't know what my next options are. I have a lot of work to get done too so I need to get this working. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, I had the same problem. Even after a new installation.
Solution: Media Player update as well as VLC Media Player from the original website installed. (Http://www.videolan.org/) then reboot. Now everything works. The problem was probably missing video codecs

  • Premiere Pro CS5.5 Not Starting

    Hello,
I've never had this issue in the past until I recieved this new workstation. It's a Dell T7500 running Windows 7 64bit with a Nvidia Quadro 6000 video card. The only way I can get PP to start is from a reboot. After that and it will not start again. When I launch PP, after the splash screen goes away the main UI window opens, but instead of displaying the workspace, it hangs there and displays a white screen. The application windows says it's not responding. I get no error messages or anything.
When it does start after a reboot, the source monitor window gets corrupted often and will not display video. I've seen this happen before too on a laptop running a quadro fx 2800m video card. I believe this problem to be video card related too, but the quadro 6000 is supposed to be supported. It's often common practice for a software vendor to certify a certain driver version, but I can't find anything like that. Anyone have any suggestions?
    thanks

Actually I think it is just poor support from Adobe for the Quadro 6000. Any machines we get from Dell are immediately wiped and reloaded with our own build. I have discovered that if I disable the mecury playback engine for this card, PP starts and works as it should. The file is called cuda_supported_cards.txt and is located in the root installation folder. So that screams poorly implemented support to me. I've logged this as a bug, but will not hold my breath to see a fix for it from Adobe.

  • Photoshop CS5.5 not showing correct amount of RAM

I have a PC with 3.25 MB of memory.  I recently purchased the Creative Suite CS5.5.  I was modifying my Preference when I noticed on the Performance Tab, under Memory Usage, it says:
    Available RAM 1569
    Ideal Range: 863 - 1129
    Let Photoshop Use: 941 MB
Anyone know why Photoshop is only seeing 1/2 of my memory?

Thanks for the explanation Chris and Sabastian.  I appreciate you taking the time to provide a good explanation.
Mylenium, you have a way with words.  Guess you have the gift of encouragement.  I did see the "Available Memory" but I read it as that's how much physical memory Photoshop was seeing on my computer, not the amount of memory that was unused at the moment.
I'm pretty sleep deprived as of late so I know my brain's "Available Memory" is running low and not running to it's fullest capacity.

  • Audio Glitch in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Timeline (not a clip problem - it's the timeline space)

I have an audio glitch that appears to be tied to a space in my timeline and not to a certain audio clip.  If I drag or move the audio clip further up or down the timeline it plays fine.  If I move a different audio file into this area, the audio drops out in the same area, even with volumes set where they need to be.  There are absolutely no keyframes set in this area and I want to be clear about that.   However, this issue did come up only the software froze on me as I was loading my project.  I believe my best bet is to delete delete my media cach and media cache files so that clips are reconformed... unless someone has additional input or has experienced similar issue with the sound.
As a note, I also reinstalled Quicktime.  I am working with AVI files/aac auio codec.

No. You will not find any Master Track Keyframes. These will be on the Audio Track, and will be attached to the Track, regardless of what Clip you have there. Here is a look at Track Keyframes, not to be confused with Clip Keyframes from PrPro 2.0:
Hope that this helps and good luck,

  • Psd (from photoshop cs5) layers not showing correctly

When importing a psd into Fireworks (cs5 - 11.0.1.7), I'm seeing layers visible that were hidden on the photoshop view of the same psd.  Also, some of the gradients and brushes aren't be imported properly.  Would it make sense to save the psd down to something like cs4 compatible before saving it for import to fireworks?

Well, just found one solution...   Library > Previews > Discard 1:1 previews and then zooming in on each photo in the Library (Loupe) forced the update.  This needs to get fixed!!

  • AVI file incomplete on import to Premiere Pro CS5

For the past week I have been working with video content created in Camtasia and exported out of Camtasia Studio as AVI files using the Camtasia codec (TechSmith Screen Capture Codec). I then import the footage into Premiere Pro CS5 where I combine it with other elements. I had no problems with this until yesterday when I attempted to import an 18 minute long video created in Camtasia. The video exported fine and I am able to play it in full using Windows Media Player, but when I import it into Premiere, the video is only 2 minutes 38 seconds long (the first 2:38). I have attempted to re-export the video out of Camtasia Studio and attempted to re-import the footage into Premiere several times now, but the result is always the same. Premiere will only import the first 2:38.
I am on a PC running Windows 7 and Premiere Pro CS5. Not sure what other info might be helpful. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue. I previously used  NeoScene to convert .mov files from a Canon 5d mark ii to the easier to edit with Gopro Cineform .avi format in Premiere Pro CC. They used to work fine but now Premiere only recognizes a very small part of the file. The first 18 seconds of an 8 minute file.
I tried importing the file to a new clean scene and the problem remained.
I need to be able to work with this footage. Somehow Premiere is no longer able to properly read clips it used to be able to read.
I would like to hear something from Adobe on this issue.
EDIT: I just updated my GoPro software to 2.0 and the problem was instantly solved. The same might apply to TechSmith.
EDIT 2: Upon rendering the edit I discovered that while the entire length of the clip was represented it in fact stopped playing new frames at the same frame as it had before. So no luck. Updating GoPro Cineform made the length of the file display correctly (7min) but did not actually let me play the file beyond the first 18 seconds - it just showed the same frame.
I deleted all preview files and cleaned Media Cache files (under media/preferences) - this didn't help.
Finally I made the file offline, closed Premiere, changed the file name and re-opened Premiere. Then I right clicked over the file in the Project window and chose replace file to re-connect. The file finally came in correctly. I've now rendered it and it runs through the entire 7 min.

  • Why does Premiere Pro CS5 process audio source before exporting clip in AME CS5?

Hello everyone, my first post here. I am currently trying out the trial CS5 Master Collection on my MacBook Pro. I've been using Premiere Pro CS5 to put together family videos. I select a certain portion of a sequence and queue it for export in Media Encoder CS5 in the format H.264 for iPod with video and audio.
Now in AME I have a queue list of about 5 clips from the sequence. But when I hit the Start Queue button, the bottom left of the progress bar states "Adobe Premiere Pro processing audio source from [then file name]"  for all 5 clips from the sequence then creates the first output file.
Then it moves to encode the second and again states "Adobe Premiere Pro processing audio source from [then file name]"  for all 5 clips of mt sequence then spits out only the second output file.
This continues for the remaining 3 output files. The total sequence length is ~32 minutes with transitions and it takes about 35 minutes to export which is all consumed by the process audio source of the 5 clips in my sequence for 5 separate times.
Is there a certain reason why Media Encoder or Premiere Pro does this process of audio source? Is this process necessary or needed? I experimented with choosing different output formats but the results are the same. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Now that's pretty good follow-up to your first post, and quickly too! Nice detective work.
As you have found, there is basically a Render/Replace operation going on in PrPro, to get the material in the correct form for AME.
Thank you for reporting, as it saved me, and others, from basically saying what you said.
Good luck, and sorry that you beat us to the punch.
