2.... i right click the footage in premiere and choose replace with after efects comp ...ae starts up fines asks me to give the comp a name ..then i get a new comp with the footage name in the project window with a lil what looks like a film icon next to it ...but the screen to the right is  black showing me no video ....what am i doing wrong any help would be great thanks

Q9550: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, EIST, Intel 64, XD bit, iAMT2, VT,
I7 920: Hyper-Threading, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, EIST, Intel 64, XD bit, iAMT2, VT,
I7-2600k: Hyper-Threading, VT-x, AES-NI, Intel 64, Idle States, EIST, Thermal Monitoring Technologies, Intel Fast Memory Access, Intel Flex Memory Access, XD bit
Aber ob es wirklich daran liegen kann?
Das neue System wird zwar eine I7-2600k als CPU haben, aber leider gibt es kaum eine CS4 Software von Adobe mehr.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 / Adobe After Effects CS5

    Hello,
I am working on a file using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. I want to make the title in the file shatter like glass. I believe you would do that using Adobe After Effects CS5, but I am unaware of how I would go about it. Do I need to open up the whole file in After Effects, or would I open it up in Premiere and export it to After Effects. Once I have accomplished that step what is the easiest way of making the effect of the title shattering like glass?
    Thank you,
    Mark

Your memory is ill configured, since you are using it in dual channel mode instead of triple channel mode and 8 MB is about bare minimum. You would be better off if you were to increase memory to 24 GB. Secondly, your disk configuration is the absolute minimum requirement, so adding a couple of disks will help performance as well.
I am not even using heavy footage. It is footage off of a Canon 5D Mark II h.264
Mistake. It is one of the most demanding codecs on the market. Look here: Adobe Forums: System requirements for CS5
You could try the PPBM5 Benchmark to see how well your setup performs.

  • Erratic performance / missing footage with Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC 2014 dynamic links

    Hi all,
I briefly touched on this amongst a host of other issues I has having while cutting my last project.
Unfortunately I never heard anything from anyone regarding my issues with the Dynamic Link system.
I had to bite the bullet and export (2-4K RAW) chunks of my last project, out of premiere using a Quicktime animation codec. This added an extra week to the post production process (which I did NOT get paid for).
I'm also a bit frustrated because it pushed the project past the deadline. Though the client was understanding, they were far from thrilled and it reflects poorly on me.
Anyhow. Project complete, on to the next-
This time, I'm using mostly footage shot from an FS700 in AVCHD. I figured maybe the RED footage was somehow too much for the program to handle with my specs, however I am having the same issue as last time.
I'll select a clip, or group of clips, go to replace with after effects composition, and sometimes they all make it, and often times they don't. The clips were shot within a couple minutes of one another and no settings were changed on the camera.
I've noticed sometime's the media will show up in the timeline, but not appear on the monitor (as pictured below). Other times the name of the clip will appear in the comp, but there will be nothing on the timeline OR in the monitor.
Never had this problem in CS6.
Adobe or anybody, please help! This is absolutely killing my workflow, and costing me time and money.
    Here are my specs:
    I'm running Adobe Premiere CC 2014 v8.1
Freshly installed Windows 7 Professional SP1 PC Desktop
Freshly installed Samsung 1TB SSD running my OS and Adobe CC
    Intel Core i7-2600k CPU at 3.4GHz (8CPUs) - Watercooled
16GB Ram (3gb allocated for other programs)
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 4GB GDDR5 - 3.40.62 Drivers installed
Pulling media from 2x 3TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM drives, striped at RAID 0
In this case pictured the second two clips in the sequence linked into AE, but the first wont show up in my monitor.

    Thank You, Jim -
Unfortunately that specifically did not work.
Based on another comment sent to me, here is what did.
    In PProCC
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > New After Effects Composition
    In AECC
From that composition created from PPro, I imported the project (aep) initially created in AECC from another team member. Saved the file.
    Back in PProCC
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition
    Magic.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 and After Effects CS5

Hi I'm fairly inexperienced when it comes to Adobe products. I was wondering whether Premiere Pro CS5 and After Effects CS5 can be used together, for instance Premiere Pro to do the basic editing and After Effects to do some more advanced stuff before importing the clip back into Premiere Pro for exporting the film.

    Yeah.

  • How can I go from Premiere Pro CS5 to After Effects CS6? (Problem)

    Hi,
I am trying to send my clip from Premiere Pro CS5 to After Effects CS6, but when I right click on the clip, I can't even select the option to send it to After Effects. I can see the option to send it to After Effects, but I just cant select it. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    -Billy

You can do what you want... only going the other way!
You can import a CS5 Premiere Project (in its entirety
or a selected sequence) into CS6 Ae.
    In CS6 Ae:
    File>Import>Adobe Premiere Pro Project...
Navigate to your CS5 Premiere project, double-click
and select 'All Sequences', or your preferred sequence.
As Jim points out, Dynamic Linking will only work
between matching versions of Pr and Ae.

  • Importing from premiere pro cs5 to after effects cs5

hi, can anyone help me with this problem?
im editing some stuff in premiere pro cs5 and when i import it into after effects cs5 for colour correction and other effects all the transitions that i had from premiere will disappear. if someone can guide me step by step to this process it will be very helpful
    Thanks,
    Randolph Azzopardi

As Mylenium suggests, there are many ways to move information between Premiere Pro and After Effects. They are all outlined on this page: "Working with After Effects and Premiere Pro"
You didn't specify, but I'll assume as he did that you are exporting a Premiere Pro project from After Effects. That works by converting things from native After Effects to their equivalents in Premiere Pro; sometimes there isn't a good equivalent, so the conversion isn't perfect. The same conversion is done as is done for copying and pasting between After Effects and Premiere Pro. There's a set of tables that describe the conversions here.
The way to get perfect fidelity is to either use Dynamic Link (as Mylenium suggested) or render and export a movie from After Effects and import that into Premiere Pro.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 and After Effects CS5 crash after splash screen

Im am fed up with this ive done everything i can and no one seems to know whats wrong, i installed CS5 on my macbook and imac i7, and they both worked for a while but then suddenly my imac i7 cs5 stopped working and kept crashing, my macbook continues to work just fine, ive even done a system reinstally and reinstalled os x and yes it would work for a little and then stop, they both have the same programs, whats weird is when i create a new user with admin privileges on my imac it would work fine but i deleted some files in the main account trying to fix the problem and no it wont work in the second account so here i am doing a system reinstally one last time. i called adobe they were no help at all literally, i called apple they did as much as they could i mean apple really made me feel like they tried, so here i am can anyone help?

Ok so i figured it out, the problem is my downloaded fonts from the internet. What sucks is that adobe cs4 applications ran perfectly fine with them, but now cs5 doesnt . I uninstalled my downloaded fonts and guess what?! it worked! I wonder why cs4 starts up with no problems with the same fonts and cs5 cant, thats just stupid...

  • Arbitrary data param not importing from Premiere Pro project into After Effects.

    Hi,
I have an AE SDK plugin effect that works in Premiere Pro and After Effects... the effect has a bunch of standard parameters and one Arbitrary Data parameter.
I believe that the Arbitrary data parameter is implemented correctly, and I have implemented all of the cases for PF_Cmd_ARBITRARY_CALLBACK...
    PF_Arbitrary_NEW_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_DISPOSE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_COPY_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_FLAT_SIZE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_FLAT_SIZE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_FLATTEN_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_UNFLATTEN_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_INTERP_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_COMPARE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_PRINT_SIZE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_PRINT_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_SCAN_FUNC
The only issue I have found, is that when importing a Premiere Pro project into After Effects with the "Import -> Adobe Premiere Pro Project" option, the value in the Arbitrary Data
parameter is always the default. There is no problem saving or re-opening projects within AE or PP... and there are no problems with cutting and pasting instances of the effect.
Importing a Premiere Pro project into After Effects using the Dynamic Link works correctly... the Arbitrary data is imported.
    Thanks.

Some kind of answer would be awesome... there are Adobe staff members on here right?

  • Adobe Dynamic Link will not work - Premiere Pro CS4 to After Effects CS4

    Hello,
I am edited a video with a deadline, I'm importing a sequence from Premiere Pro CS4 to After Effects and making edits in After Effects. I'm able to import the Premiere Pro sequence into After Effects using Dynamic Link, but  I go back to Premiere Pro and nothing has changed. Then I have to export the 21 minute long video in After Effects and that takes about 12 hours, that I can't afford. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, before I imported the timeline into AE, while I was in Premiere Pro I right clicked it and selected -Edit original. It took me to the .mov that I imported- since it's a redo. I learned how to use Dynamic Link from this tutorial-
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-cs4-production-premium/using-dynamic-link/
At first when Dynamic link didn't work I thought it was because I was cutting the imported Sequence from Premiere Pro in After Effects becasue I was motion tracking. When you import a Premier Pro sequence can you cut it into individual layers in After Effects?

I'm importing a sequence from Premiere Pro CS4 to After Effects
That doesn't create the type of Link you want here.  In this case, changes made to PP would show up in AE.  You want the reverse.  (And you can only go one way, not both.)

  • Bringing Premiere Pro project into After Effects

I tried importing Premiere Pro projects to After Effects, but I only got the various files, not the timeline. I just watched a tutorial about Dynamic Link, but when I clicked Adobe Dynamic Link/New After Effects composition in Premiere, I got a layer that was all black, with no sound. I have CS3 Production Premium and Windows XP Media Center SP2.
Right now, I just want to keep what I edited in Premiere, but I get better quality video if I export it to H.264 MOV in After Effects than anything I've found in Premiere. I can't understand why that's so, but until I find something just as good in Premiere, I want to save everything in After Effects.

Create a project and a comp. Copy the timeline from Premiere Pro and paste it into the timeline of After Effects.

  • Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC work slowly together - much worse than CS6

Premiere Pro CS6 and After Effects CS6 worked together really well.  I could have both programs open and make a change in After Effects, then go back to Premiere Pro and see the changes pretty quickly.  Since upgrading both to CC, I can't jump back and forth and see the changes quickly.  I literally have to hit Enter and render the After Effect clip after every freakin' time I make a change to it in order to see it without any pauses or jumpiness in the playback.  CS6 worked great.  I can't express my disappointment in the Creative Cloud "upgrade".   So many things are SO MUCH WORSE!!!   Adobe you have to fix this stuff.

The speed of the connection is dependent on your hardware and the type of comp you have in AE.
I haven't noticed any significant performance difference between the two versions (I've also been heavily using dynamic link since CS6 ).
Some comps will play fine in Premiere, some comps will need rendering. I generally render the clip in Premiere, as opposed to AE.
If the same comp from CS6 is behaving significantly worse in CC, then you might be on to something, but it is most likely a bug isolated to your hardware config and not a general CC issue.

  • Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC - Dynamic Link of an .aep not working - Stalls during import

I have been trying to import an .aep file into Premiere Pro CC from After Effects CC. As suggested, I import the file. The dynamic import window appears. It states connected to file along with the import files ... dialogue box. It stalls there.
I have been working off my network and have all the files collected on my machine.
My workaround to get me to deadline was to render my clips from AE and import them. Importing the .aep would make more sense from efficiency and workflow.
    Thank you

  • How do I import a Premiere Pro file into After Effects

So I'm an editor, I cut trailers and TV spots. I enjoy making my title cards on After Effects because it gives me a lot of options but I'm having difficulty. How do I import / edit a Premiere Pro file into After Effects? I imported the project file but the whole thing was a mess and nothing made sense. Can anyone explain this process to me?
By the way I used CS5.5 versions of the software.

It actually works better if you go the other way... link an AE comp into your Premiere project.
Create and link to After Effects compositions with Dynamic Link

  • Importing Premiere Pro project into After Effects ???

When I import a Premiere Pro project into After Effects, it splits every shot onto a new track, ending up with a couple of hundred tracks at the end.
Is there a way to avoid this ?
Particularly, since I'd want to keep the option of bringing the project file back in Premiere for further editing.
My colorist suggested that I nest reels of my timeline and split it that way so that when he imports it he has nests on one timeline and the multiple tracks in each of those nests. Still, this feel very clunky.

An editor at work was using our Avid to do a grade on a short promo and I
wanted to see what I could do in After Effects. So when he was out of the
office I exported the timeline as an AAF and copied the OMFI media. When I
brought the project into After Effects I ended up with a massive number of
layers and freaked at first at the idea of doing anything with it.
However I thought about it again and decided to precompose all the layers,
as this gave me just one layer to work with. I then added a couple of
Adjustment Layers above it; one with a Levels effect added and the other
with HSL. I also added Masks to the Adjustment Layers so I could vignette
    any effect.
The key to working like this was to use Hold Keyframes at the beginning of
each new shot for each effect, Mask Shape and Feather. I could then adjust
that shot, scrub to the next shot add new Hold Keyframes adjust that shot
and so on. When I wanted to repeat any effect settings on a shot, I just cut
and pasted the relevant keyframes. Mixes across shots can be tricky but you
can always go back to work with the original shots on their separate layers
    if you need to.
I ended up with a quick grade that stood up nicely against the one done on
the Avid and I only had work with 3 layers on my timeline!

  • Premiere Pro - Creating Menu After Effects & Encore

I will admit right off the bat that I am a new user to the Adobe Video Editing product line and that will be obvious with the following question.  I have been doing some video editing in Premiere Pro CS5 with success (great product)!  Now, here is where my confusion has set in.  I need to create a custom menu for my Premiere Pro project.  What is the process I should be doing?  I have seen some posts regarding creating your menu design in Photoshop and then putting it into After Effects and then into Encore?  Is this the correct process?  I do need to create multiple Chapters and will be Submenus as well.  Any direction that could be provided on what products I should be using and in what order would be most appreciated!  Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie!

Andrey - Thank you for your help! I have viewed some of the Lynda tutorials and they have been most helpful.  A follow up to your answer below....do you ever use Photoshop to create your menu names.  I have seen references to creating the names in the Photoshop layers with the following naming convention:
    (+)Menu Title
When is it helpful to use this instead of Encore?
