Premiere Pro CS6 - audio plugins not engaging until roughly 1 second into clip

This is a strange issue I've been having with Premiere CS6, running on a Mac Pro.  Anytime I add effects to audio, whether it is denoiser, highpass, eq, etc, the effect doesn't engage until roughly 1 second into the clip.
It doesn't matter if I render it or export it.  The problem still occurs.  In the past my solution has been to drag the audio out past the 1 second threshold, apply the effect, export just the audio, bring it back into premiere, re-align the new audio and export.  What a pain!
Definitely a problem I've never had with Avid or Final Cut!  Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this problem?!

It's a long-standing bug with certain audio effects.  Please do let Adobe know you want it fixed.

In the meantime, you should do that kind of work in Audition instead.

After a few weeks idol my Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (mac) will not completely launch. It tells me a serious error has occurred, it shuts down and the circle continues. I've even reloaded  the app and it happens again. I did upgraded to Yosemite but I can't find anyone else having probs with Yosemite. Any ideas. No luck on the adobe site.

CS6 is about 3 years old... even the latest Cloud versions had to have updates to be compatible... since you have "reloaded" (was that a full uninstall and reinstall?) I have no other suggestions

Hi I am having problems with trying to sync my audio in Premiere Pro CS6.  I clicked all of my audio files and hit synchronized and it does not come up with an option to sync by the audio.  I know you can do this in Premiere Pro CC but why not in CS6? For the future, thank you all for whoever responded and took the time to answer my problem!

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Dynamic Link not working

    Hi,
Just wondered if anyone has seen issues with the Dynamic link options in Premiere Pro CS6, all the options to work with After Effects are greyed out although this product is installed.
However I only have CS5 for after effects, is this a compatibility issue or am I doing something wrong here?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Kind Regards
    Steve

Dynamic Link only works within one version, so you can't use it between CS6 and CS5 or CS5.5 and with older versions you had to have a complete suite, not individual products.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashes with not finding a capable play module on a windows desktop with a AMD Radeon R9 200 series board.

I installed Premiere Pro CS 6.0 on a brand new system.
    Win 8.1,
i7 3.4 GHz on an Asus Sabertooth
    16 Gig memory
AMD Radeon R9 290 Graphics Board with the latest drivers and Bios.
On starting Premiere I get the (as I noticed quite frequent appearing) error message that Premiere cannot find a capable play module and the suggestion to update my video drivers.
I tried everything I found in this forum or on the web:
    Installed the latest drivers
Run the program as an administrator
    Updated the Graphics board Bios
    Updated Premiere CS6
Started Gpusniffer in CMD-mode to find out what board it found and added that to the cuda_supported_cards.txt in the Premiere directory.
All to no avail. The app will simply not start.
    The Gpusniffers report states:

As I invested a lot in the CS6 Master Collection I am not considering an update tot the CC version, also because the same problem occurs in that version too.
I would be much obliged if someone has an answer that truly will work.  This problem costed me the best part of two days’ work and fouled up my workflow considerably.

    ==========
I tried to go into display settings and disable the Intel card. (this caused low resolution which is unexceptable)
    ==========
This makes me think it's using that graphics "card" ( probably built into mobo ? ...called 'onboard graphics ? )
This stuff gets tricky and sometimes the only way to make windows 'recognize' the pci graphics card is to actually take it out and boot, and then put it back in...
Then you get mssg " windows detected new hardware" and you install the drivers...
usually bios gives you choice of using onboard graphics or not ( but this too is wanky sometimes...sorry to say ...)
I recently ( this past year ) had a similar sort of situation but have a desktop, where its easy for me to take off side panel and pull the pci-e graphics card and boot, and get that horrible low res default screen...turn off, install card, reboot etc...
but anyway, it sounds to me like you're notebook is using that mobile graphics driver stuff and not the radeon. Somehow you've got to make it switch to that graphics card is maybe your solution.
sorry I dont have notebook but maybe someone else here does and can help more...
    good luck.
ps..its always a weird fact of life...when things aren't working 'right' something has to get done fast....
    edit:
I dont know how much you know about windows stuff, but after you disable that intel thing and get your low res screen.. you DID try to update the driver for that card using 'my computer / device manager  '   right ??

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Project Files Not Recognised by Windows

Gidday, I hope someone can help with this problem.  Premiere Pro(and After Effects) have worked perfectly on my laptop up until now. Saved PP projects are not recognised by Windows 7. I can open a new project but once I save it, it is not recognised and won't open and I can't reset either as the default programs for those files. The applications are visible in the start menu so it is very strange as all were working fine last week and nothing has been done to the laptop in the meantime.
Anyone else come up against this problem?
    Thanks
    Steve

Steve, I just had this happen as well.
I used the Programs section of the Windows Control Panel to initiate an uninstall.  On Adobe's Unistall setup screen (or whatever it may be called) I selected to uninstall PP only. When it was done I restarted and then installed PP only.  And then it was back to "normal."

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Audio Issues

We have been testing Premiere CS6 on our first job for the last week. However, we are running into some major audio issues:
    1. When clip is loaded into the source viewer, and you jump to through the cilp, the audio lags behind until you stop and wait a few seconds for the audio to catch up. This is a major hinderance when trying to edit quickly with clients in session. This also happens on the timeline when jumping around. These problems never occured in Avid or FCP running the same media.
    2. With no rhyme or reason, the audio (from source and timeline) sometimes just doesnt play. The meteres will be moving and the video will play, but the audio wont be coming out. Sometimes you hear a noise as if someone was playing with the audio cables. Also, sometimes the meters dont even move, to suggest there is no audio again video is playing, when infact there is.
These problems have occured accros multiple machines, with media running from both our server, and local hard drives. Our facility runs a NAS that pushes 110/MB/s over ethernet from a 16TB RAID6 (that is SAS connected to the server). One machine is running OSX 10.8, with Black Magic Intensity Pro, 20GB Ram, NVidia Quadro 4000. Another is running OSX 10.8, with AJA IO Express, 16GB Ram, NVidia 4000. and the last is running 10.6.8 with Black Magic Intesnsity Pro, 12GB ram, and NVidia GTX something or other (unsupported card).
Has anyone else gotten these issues? Like i said, i have tested the media from the server and from the local hard drives. We are pushing Apple Pro Res HQ, have also tested Pro Res LT, Pro Res 444 and Canon H.264.

For me it wasn't a RAM issue, I had more than enough to process the audio I had in my project.  This quote from a Creative Cow post worked for me.
"Try deleting your .cfa files for the media in question, and then don't mess with the project until they are done re-conforming."
    Here's the original post:
    http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/926011
I don't know how to figure out which .cfa files are associated to specific media files, so I just went to where they were cached and deleted all of them.  Open your project again and you'll see a little yellow bar in the lower left-hand corner of the Timeline window showing  that it's re-conforming your media.  Don't even think of touching the computer while it's doing this... I was so paranoid that I didn't do anything else (check e-mail, open a web browser, work on a Word doc, etc.) until Premiere was totally finished.  After that my audio played fine for the rest of the project.
One thing that's tricky and took me a while to figure out is that if you're using multiple drives, you have to be careful to make sure you're getting ALL of the .cfa files.  If you've set the project to cache your files on a external drive, and then open a  project on a different drive without having that external connected, Premiere will set the cache folder to its default location (usually on your host computer's main hard drive).  I didn't realize this, and had the audio drop-out issue, so I deleted the .cfa files but the drop-out didn't go away.  I found out that Premiere had reset my media cache folder, and had cached the corrupted .cfa files on my main hard drive.  Once I deleted them there and let the computer re-conform, the  audio played well again.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 - Audio issues

    Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to apologize for my pretty weak english.
I've been using Premiere CS6 for a while and I've never encountered any major issue that couldn't be fix... until now.
I'm working on a project that has several audio tracks, I've just finished my editing and I was going to export an aaf/omf for the audio. However when I loaded  my project, everything seemed to be fine, my playback was smooth and working well, all my clips and audio tracks were present in my timeline but there wasn't any audio being played.
The audio meters don't react, I don't have any effects on my audio tracks, there isn't anything muted and when I click on the audio tracks, the audio waveform is in red and is represented as a line.. Here is a screenshot :
When I relink to the original audio tracks, It doesn't fix the issue. The only way to make it works is to re import the tracks, and to drag'n'drop them into my timeline. In some way, i'll have to redo ALL the audio work and that's pretty tiresome.. (especially for the audio that is linked to video..)
The AAF fails (It tells me that It can't export audio clips that are linked to video clips..). OMF export works, it weights 800ish mo but it's empty...
Thanks in advance to anyone that could save my time on this issue.
Have a nice day/night to everyone.
    Antoine

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Warp Stabilizer not using GPU/CUDA why?

    Hi,
I installed CS6 and tried the Warp Stabilizer, I undestand that only part 2 of the process (stabilize part) is GPU accelerated, but I can't get any acceleration from GPU, my GPU is idle at 1% usage (GTX580) and all the processing is going to CPU. The renderer/playback is marked CUDA so its not that.
    Is there anything I'm missing?
    Thanks

OK, this surprised me a bit. I have a state-of-the-art new PC with plenty of RAM, a fast processor and lots of cuda cores. See the specs here: http://www.stevengotz.com/
It took over 10 minutes to stabilize one minute of video - 1800 frames. It wasn't all that shaky to begin with, but it was handheld and therefore looks better after using Warp. There was one section that was so bad, I sliced the clip up and chose not to stabilize that part after the fact. So I thought that it might have added a little to the problem. But no. I tried just 180 frames of reasonably stable hand held video from the same clip and it took almost a minute.
Now, once the process was finished, I had no problem playing it back in realtime without rendering. But what is taking so long? I understand that there is a lot of work to do, but why isn't it using the power I have provided?
This is a screen shot of my resources about two minutes into the process.
I would love to know what I need to do to speed up this process. I get that it is working in the background. Is it possible to make it work in the foreground? I would not mind if it maxed out the RAM or the CPU or both if it would help.
edit: I just submitted a Feature Request to let Warp run in the foreground using every available resource.

  • CC wont let me re-download premiere pro CS6! HELP!!

    Hello all,
So i previously had all of the CS6 Family installed on my computer. Something went wrong with Adobe Encore and it wouldnt open so i uninstalled Premiere Pro and Encore CS6.
After un-installing i restarted my computer and opened Creative Cloud.
When looking in the find new apps section to re-download Premiere Pro CS6 i could not find it. I filtered the search and selected previous versions but the only apps it says it has in previous versions in are Bridge, Edge Animate and Gaming SDK.
I checked in the my apps section to double check it was definitely un-installed. I can see Premiere Pro CC but CS6 is not showing up anywhere!
Ive tried looking for other links on the adobe website but it just gives me the option to buy a subscription (which i have already payed for) or download the trial.
Ive looked endlessly on forums for a solution but no joy so far.
I desperately need to get to the bottom of this as i need Adobe Encore for work.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

    Hi,
Please uninstall your creative cloud desktop app and re-download it from the below link:-

  • Importing Photoshop files into premiere pro CS6 issues

    Hi
I recently re-installed Premiere Pro CS6 on my work computer (i changed from a HDD to an SSD). Ever since I did this I am having an issue importing .PSD files into Premiere.
I try and import a photoshop file. The importer window comes up. The progress bar starts to move, then pauses and the Importer says 'Not Responding'. After a few seconds it comes back and throws up the following error:
Error message - 'The importer reported a generic error'
All projects i previously worked on that had .PSD files in them are now reporting these files as 'Media Offline' meaning I have to replace them with .PNG files which is really annoying.
Any ideas what might be happening? The files I am trying to import are RGB .PSD's. They worked previously without any issues.
    I have Premiere Pro Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC: 264587))
running on a Windows 7 machine with Service Pack 1, 64 bit OS, 16GB Ram and Intel Core i7-2600
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this!

Yes, MXF should play perfectly in PP CS6, but if you can't work this out at this point, you may wrap your MXF video to something intermediate. as a matter of face, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 seems to work fine if you import your MXF clips directly from a camera or camcorder, but if have already copied MXF recordings your HDD or you downloaded them from somewhere else, the import error may occur.
So i suggest you convert the MXF footage to something mezzanine we would recommend DNxHD.mov (if you are on a PC) or Apple ProRes .mov (if on a mac). those two intermediate codecs are good mezzanine codecs that handle recompression well and standup well in other areas of post-production (color grading, graphics, compositing, etc,). You can see what I wrote about the solution. "Why Premiere Pro CS6 can't import MXF files?" i hope that it is helpful to you.

  • .mov files no video but has sound in premiere pro cs6

I know this isn't adobe. However, all of my .mov files play with no video in quicktime, premiere pro cs6, and sony vegas 9. I've looked into the missing codec, and quicktime brings me to the general page with multiple codecs listed. This happens with two different types of cameras. Both HD. I have Windows 7. Does anyone know why the files won't play video? Thanks.

jon - no idea why you were such a snarky SOB in your reply.  person was just asking for some help.  obviously stuck and could use some advise.  you could have chosen to ask a few clarifying questions to see if additional info could be gleaned.  instead you CHOSE to be mean.  NOT COOL.  if you hate being a support person, dont offer your help and dont go online.  otherwise, change your attitude.
If you feel my comments were inappropriate, then feel free to report my post as such. If you feel the information was incorrect, then please provide what you feel to be more correct information. The object of my comments was to 1) point out that no accurate solution was possible without amplifying information, 2) inform the individual why more information was needed, and 3) describe at least three methods for getting the required information. It was not my intent to be either "mean" or "cool" but rather to teach the individual how to analyize their video content in order to become more self-sufficient in the future. Perhaps if you concentrated more on the content of my response than on your emotional interpretations of what you think was implied, you might find something of value.
My question for you is,"Did you actually create a new profile tonight to hide your normal identity while you berate my response?"
for lordrebeccasama - there are people out there that would like to help.  I would suggest you try to get answers to some of these questions and post - people may have some ideas:  Does this problem occur with all MOV files or just certain ones.  if just certain ones, can you ell which camera or source produced the file?  can you see if the files can be played on other machines (like another PC or a MAC)?  if you can, try to get into the properties of the MOV file (the container) and see if you can tell how it was encoded.  good luck - and on behalf of all people that actually like to help, i apologize on behalf of jon.
Since you have essentially asked for the same information I did, albeit in a more indirect manner, I don't feel any apology is needed on my behalf.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Hangs When Importing .mov

    Hi,
For a few days now I have been trying to import an hour long clip into Premiere Pro CS6. Usually this takes only a few seconds, but lately it has been hanging. It is stuck on a little window saying "Import Files" and the yellow progress bar doesn't appear. I don't know if this has anything to do with the recent update I installed to my Production Premium applications or if it may be my new Blackmagic drivers that messed it up. I have tried waiting out the long import by leaving it on overnight and it has still not fixed it. I even uninstalled Premiere and reinstalled it. Any help would be appreciated.
The codecs of the video are H.264, AAC
    I am also running Mac OS X 10.7.5 on a mid-2011 iMac

My machine is also hanging in the same fashion.   Very, very frustrating when you have editing work to do.  If I reboot, I seem to be able to import a few files but then the next one hangs.
I'm trying to import mov files from my Canon 5d Mark III.
I updated my video driver (that needed to be done anyway) but that didn't make any difference.
