Premiere Pro CS6 Constantly Crashing

I am having the worst time using Premiere Pro CS6. The program is constantly crashing, saying it has encountered a serious error and has to close. This is happening during the most basic operations like scrubbing the timeline or pressing play. I am using footage strait from my Canon 7D (h.264) with no effects or filters. I have all the latest updates to the software and my computer. No other programs are open during these errors. I'm using a 2011 MacBook Pro i7 8GB RAM with AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB and OSX 10.7.4.
I wanted this to be an alternative to FCP 7, but so far it is not working out.
Any ideas?

Happening to me too. Constant "serious error" crashes, usually when I'm doing hardly anything at all. One project was working with just a couple images and it was particuarly awful. Like you, H264 footage are a common thread.
I'm a Mac Pro 3,1 2x2.8GHz Quad-Core, 10.7.3 (will try updating), 8GB RAM, GTX285, 6.0.1 and CUDA 4.2.7. GPU Driver Version says 7.18.11 270.05.20f02.
As it stands I can't get anything done. My experience w/ CS6 so far has been to finish one project (2 tracks of DV, one of H264) that was originally started in CS5, and I don't really remember having any problems. Software worked much better than CS5 actually. Tried another one from scratch, same setup, but I encountered the H264 media pending bug that's been reported elsewhere and had to give up, go back to CS5. Project I mentioned above, I could barely do anything w/o the program crashing. This fourth project, another 2 DV/1 H264, I haven't encountered any problems playing back the footage yet, but this is when the software because very unstable.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 constantly crashes when importing video files

I have not used Premiere Pro in a while, but recently when I tried to import video files (from .m4v, .mp4 and .mov) the program stops working, the "importing" window doesn't progress and I get the rainbow wheel of "death".
I read some other posts where some are having similar situations and some users suggested moving the file from an external hard-drive to an internal one (I have a 1TB external hard-drive) but that didn't do squat either.
Once the program is frozen I'm forced to "force quit" the program.
Does anyone know what I can do?

I am having the same problems, but my program locks up when trying to playback .MTS files that are shot natively on my GH2. It will not render or export anything & when you try and scrub or playback footage it gets the spinning wheel of death. To finish my last project, I had to transcode all the .MTS files to .MP4 files and it worked fine. Also, anytime I shut down PP, I have to force quit the program for it to shut down. iMac 27in Mid 2011 3.4 Intel Core i7 16 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 AMD Radeon HD6970M 2048 MB OSX 10/9 (13A603)
No external devices, except a external hard drive. I changed from a Thunderbolt Seagate 1TB (single 7200 RPM) to a Drobo Mini 2 TB RAID 5 in the MIDDLE of this problem, thinking the issue was the drive was to slow to keep up - NOT the case… it still happens with the new drive.
Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration?I am not completely sure to be honest - I believe it is the factory settings.
Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?both!

Premiere Pro cs6 keeps crashing when im editing or rendering a video

When I am on Adobe Premiere Pro cs6 every 10-20 mins it crashes when im editing a video, it crashes more often when im rendering it (export media, ctrl+M). I dont mind when it crashes while im editing because i save the file regularly but when im rendering its a problem, it probably because the file is too big as i use dxtory to record skyrim but this is an expensive product so it should be able to render. I encode the file once ive chosen the format and stuff for the video and it says finish rendering in 50 mins or so and when it gets to like 4% rendering it says not responding. It then troubleshoots but then says 'close program'. this is very frustrating, please can someone help me. I've looked through the forums but i dont uinderstand many of the solutions as im not that good at computers

Premiere Pro CS6 Randomly Crashes During Preview

Hello,
I've searched and gone through various threads where crashing has been posted and none of the solutions have helped thus far.
There are two issues that I would encounter doing the most basic of tasks such as previewing a clip within Premiere Pro CS6:
- The preview screen will freeze and I am unable to see the video.
- The program will cause my video driver to encounter a serious problem and recover.
Here are my specifications:
Sony Vaio
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System
Intel Core i5 2.40ghz
8 Gigs of Ram
ATI Radeon HD 6470m Graphics Card
The temporary solution to both that I have found effective is closing down the program, then opening task manager, ending the Adobe Premiere process and restarting Adobe Premiere. If I don't do this then the program can't be opened.
Here are some of the solutions I've implemented without any positive changes:
- Ensured display driver / graphics card is updated (ATI Radeon HD 6470m)
- Closed all other programs
- Couldn't change GPU acceleration because the video card doesn't allow it.
- Disabled Hover Scrub
I've spent a few days researching this and I'm very sorry for posting a question in regards to this issue. However, I can't seem to find the help I need from Support because their phone system is down and I can't use the ticketing system because I'm using the Adobe Creative Cloud. I would appreciate any help in advance. Thank you.

Just finished the phone call from Adobe support.
The solution to the problem is if Premiere freezes, create a new sequence and import your video into the new sequence. He didn't know the specifics of what caused the issue, but should it happen again, I'd have to just tansfer the video into a new sequence. my project has not malfunctioned in the past hour.

Premiere Pro CS6 continually crashing on startup

PP CS6 has been continually crashing on opening the program every time today - gets to initial windows screen and then crashes.
Have uninstalled program, downloaded and reinstalled but same problem. Crash report as follows:

Program opens up windows, followed by Mac spinning ball before crashing
Program had been stable until today - VLC was opened for first time use last night. I uninstalled it before reinstall of Premiere Pro to see if it caused a conflict, but same resulting crash.
No other software running at time of last number of crashes. Macbook Pro is my field machine and therefore has variety of applications for broadcast use (newsgathering use) including Audition, Photoshop and FCP7.
No third party effects or hardware installed

What can I do to stop Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 from crashing when exporting?

Regardless of whether I have a new project file or an existing one, edits or no edits, whenever I click export, Premiere Pro simply crashes. Same for Media Encoder - can't even open that one. I have all of the latest CS6 updates installed, the computer is brand new as of two weeks ago - OSX 10.9.1, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB. The only way I've been able to export is through a backdoor: I use the dynamic link in After Effects, then render out my sequences there. Help?

I'm a new user to adobe and I've used their free trials in the past for cs6, but this latest version of Premiere Pro keeps crashing while I'm in the middle of projects. I really don't know what the problem is. Is there something I need to update?

I forget what it said specifically, but the error message said something along the lines of
"There was a serious problem with Premiere pro and it needs to shut down immediately. It will try to save your current session"

Premiere Pro is constantly crashing with Mavericks (OS 10.9)

I'm on a late 2013 iMac with 24gigs of RAM and the NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1024 MB GPU.
Premiere Pro is crashing constantly. These are bad crashes where the whole screen flickers or pixelates. I'm cutting RED Epic footage that was shot in 5k, my partner is cutting on an iMac with os 10.8 and doesn't seem to be having any problems.
It happens when I'm in the Timeline or the Source viewer or the Project bins.
We're on a deadline for the project and it feels like I'm seriously screwed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And, I've already taken the iMac in and had the whole logic board and GPU replaced, still didn't fix the problem.

Please check whether Mercury playback engine is set to CUDA or Open Cl. If it is on open CL switch to CUDA or software mode and check. You can also try to give permission to the Preferences folder by following the below steps.
Go to user>username>library>preferences>premiere pro>7.0
Right click on 7.0 and select get info
Click on the lock and enter the password to unlock it.
Cick on "+" and add permission to everyone with read and write access.

Premiere Pro CS6 increasingly crashing...

Hi, running CS6 on iMac 10.8.5 and had no problems for the first year or more. Then - and I've not found anyone else with this issue - every time I closed the application, it gave me a crash message, even though nothing appeared to be harmed or lost. Now, it has started to freeze and crash more often, and it's also giving the 'serious error' message half way through exports. I uninstalled the suite, and reinstalled - same behavior in Premiere. Wondering if I need to wipe the system clean, then reinstall, but that's a big process and would like to avoid if possible. And, before uninstallling, I wiped the preferences out with shift-option. That didn't seem to help either.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

You may want to run the CS Cleaner and then reinstall Premiere Pro. Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
A lot less time then wiping the entire system. Does that work?

Adobe Premiere Pro CC constantly crashes when rendering. Please Help!

Hello everybody and thank you for reading!
My problem is whenever I use adobe premiere and decide to render my video my computer crashes and always gives me a different error report. Here are a list of all of the error codes I have received: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, BAD_POOL_HEADER, NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM, /IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL,KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (NETIO.SYS), and DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. I have tried installing a reinstalling the program and that does not work.
Here are my system specs:
OS:Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel core i7-4790k 4.00 ghz
GPU: NVIDEA zotec GTX 750 ti 25b
RAM: 2x 8gb
HD: 1TB Seagate
If there is any other information you need I will try to supply it! Thank you very much!

Maybe a mod can help by removng your email address you never publish that for the spammer's of the world to pick-up.
I would suggest that you remove any Adobe you can and then download and follow these instrutions and the start fresh on your reload.

P2/MXF Footage in CS6 constantly losing its linkage. I'll relink the clips as the 'locate footage' box pops up, then a couple of minutes later, all the clips in the bin are showing the question mark and asking me to locate the clips again. It does this over and over. This happens on both my desktop machine and on my laptop.
Not having this problem with any of the file types at this point.

Just saw an official reply on another similar question asked at the same time as mine and that Adobe is aware of it and it's being worked on.

Premiere Pro CS6 keeps crashing when exporting h.264 (NEED HELP ASAP!)

Alright, so I have a video that I've probably rendered around 30 times now and it ALWAYS ends up either freezing up, and then Premiere stops working, or it just stops working.
I have a YouTube channel and I'm going away for 2 days tomorrow and I really need to get my videos up online, but I just can't render them! Does anyone know how to fix this? I really need help ASAP!

You are simply going to have to wait for someone to read your message, and look at your settings, and reply... IF that person has an idea (20 minutes is really not much time)

Premiere Pro CS3 constantly crashes

I am editing a short movie (aprx. 4-6 min)and adobe errors every couple of minutes saying something along the lines of "adobe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We will attempt to save your project". It doesn't save the project, it does close though. It isn't much more specific than that. It doesn't seem to be associated with any particular action other then general editing (I could be moving a clip, adding text, play a clip, anything). I tried reinstalling the program and it didn't help. I also tried the majority of the recommendations on the adobe troubleshooting page. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I am on a brand new Dell desktop without any changes. Here is my system info. Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3
