Premiere Pro CS6 Creative Cloud & ProRes presets

I am using the Atamos Ninja 2 to capture footage from my Canon 5D Mark III. One of the options on the Ninja 2 is to capture using the ProRes HQ codec. I'd really like to be able to take the ProRes footage and use Premiere Pro CS6 (creative cloud) on my MacBook Pro (10.8.3). Is there any way to do this? I don't see ProRes presets available. I can import the footage, but can't drag and drop it into the timeline.

Joe Bloe,
Thanks. Here's what's interesting that I don't understand. I did what you pointed out previously. That works from a functionality perspective...sort of.
I originally captured at 30 fps (drop frame 29.97) on the Ninja 2 because of what I understood here:
http://atomos.activehosted.com/kb/article/codecfrres/when-should-i-use-24p
When I used the technique you described, the sequence settings were the same technically. But the editing mode listed is ARRI Cinema. There are still no presets I can see for ProRes. I'm not sure if the sequence that resulted from the steps you described are taking advaantage of the ProRes codec. And since I don't see any presets anywhere in PPro for ProRes, I'm still wondering how to get them in PPro.
I've seen this too:
http://blogs.adobe.com/VideoRoad/2011/08/a-prores-workflow-end-to-end.html
But I don;t understand how, in the above instructions, the option to select Apple ProRes in the Video Preview setting is available. Is this a difference in CS6 from earlier versions?
Btw, I have the latest version of Compressor (and Quicktime) installed so I should have the ProRes codecs available.
I also downloaded the folder of ProRes codecs for AME and imported them that was available here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5411
This still doesn't make the presets available in PPRo.
What am I missing?

When you create a new Project, you are initially presented
with a menu of Sequence types to choose from.
You can skip this step by hitting 'Cancel', import your media,
then do this to create a Sequence that matches your footage:
Or, select a media file, right-click and select "New Sequence From Clip".

Im having trouble importing mov files into premiere pro on creative cloud, original problem was no video and only audio when I imported mov file, so I have installed quicktime after reading that may solve the problem, but now an error message reads codec missing or unavailable, any help would be appreciated

MOV is a wrapper... what is inside the wrapper?

    Hi,
If you are using Windows Machine, just click on Start button and start typing CC, you will see all your downloaded Creative Cloud application there.
And in case of Mac, at the top right corner, there is a magnefying glass caled as Spotlight. Click on it and start typing CC, it will show your downloaded Creative Cloud apps, there.

  • Where can i find Premiere Pro in Creative Cloud?

i cannot find Premiere Pro in Creative Cloud. please help

Premiere Pro requires a 64 bit processor and 64 bit operating system.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/tech-specs.html
    I suspect you're running Windows 7 32 bit or Windows 8 32 bit.
If that's the case Premiere Pro CC will not appear in your Cloud account for download since it will not run on your computer.
Same goes for After Effects CC and Audition CC.

  • Why is it there's no premiere pro in creative cloud?

why is it there's no premiere pro in creative cloud?

You have to be running a 64 bit OS to get Premiere Pro in the Creative Cloud. Otherwise you only get apps that work on 32 bit systems.

If they don't show up then your system doesn't support them. Refer to the system requirements on the product pages.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 for Broadcast ProRes HQ Frame rate issues

I switched from Avid to work on a quick project with DSLR footage shot on the 5D Mark III at 29.97 psf which is not to be confused with 29.97i, a standard frame rate necessary for broadcast.   So the commercial spot was cut together, I punched in the proper settings (the very same settings that work with Avid 6.0+ and Final Cut Pro 7), and hit export.  When exporting either a Quicktime Animation or Pro Res file from Premiere Pro CS6, premiere creates a file with a faulty framerate, it comes out as 28.4 instead of 29.97.  I thought I was going crazy, but no, there are tons of documented experiences with 23.94 being 20-something, and on an on.  It seems as if Adobe did not do a good enough job with integrating the Pro Res codec into their software.  The only way I could get around it was to export to something else (Blu-ray H.264 at 29.97), and then re-encode that file to Pro Res HQ with either compressor or adobe media encoder.   The problem lies in exporting progressive footage as interlaced, it just completely screws up the frame rate.    The worst bit is that, I need Pro Res HQ for the distribution house for the commercial spots, they require the ProRes HQ MOV at 29.97i and if anything is off, I get charged for it.
Does anyone else have problems with Adobe Premiere lacking on the professional end? Or similar experience with this problem?
Just do a search for pro res frame rate issue premiere and you will see a lot of other users with the same issue.
    Thanks,
    C

  • Premiere Pro non-Creative Cloud options

I use iDVD Pro for simple clip timelines but I'm tired of it. I'm looking for a video editing application
and a friend recommended Adobe Premiere (I already have PS6 and Adobe Bridge CS6).
All the Adobe Premiere online offers mention:
    a) a price per month, and b) a "Creative Cloud" subscription.
I want nothing to do with the cloud, and I'm not really interested in paying a monthly subscription.
Is there an option for me to pay a one-off fee for the software, use it whenever I please
and store the clips wherever  please?
    Sergio

to use the latest versions, you have to subscribe. if you want to buy it, you are limited to cs6 version.
    Creative Suite 6
can also look into premiere elements...

  • Download trial of Adobe Premiere Pro on Creative Cloud

    Hi there,
I want to download a trial of Adobe Premiere Pro, but it is not available on my list of apps in creative cloud. How do I find it?
    Thank you.
    Steph

    Hello stephkate140390,
Premiere pro and After effects are only compatible with 64-bit operating system. If you have a 32-bit operating system then it will not show these two applications in the list.
    Thanks

  • Can't find Premiere Pro in Creative Cloud

    Hi,
I downloaded Creative Cloud but I do not find Adobe Premiere Pro in the list of apps, where is it?
    Thank you
    Lena

    See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit
The fact that you do not have Premiere Pro available for download indicates you are definitely running Windows 7 32 bit.
There is no upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. It's completely different code and computer architecture, mostly invisible to the end user other than you can see your computer use more than the 3.2GB RAM limit of 32 bit environments. 64 bit RAM use is unlimited.
64 bit computing means getting a new computer with a 64 bit processor and 64 bit operating system.

  • Why cant i download Premiere Pro from Creative Cloud?

Its not in the Application Manager and if i try to download the trial online it takes me directly to My Creative Cloud account. If i try to download from there the Application Manager will show up but wont download anything!!

    Hi 0kmin3,
Windows versions of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects CS5 and later require a 64-bit edition of Windows. This requirement applies to the stand-alone versions of the applications. It also applies to the components of Adobe Creative Suite  Production Premium and Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection 5 and later.
You cannot install or run Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects CS5 and later on any of the following operating systems:
32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows XP Home or Professional
32-bit editions of Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise
32-bit editions of Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate
