Premiere Pro CS6 Crops My PSD Layers

I am trying to import a PSD CS6 file which has been setup with the film and video preset. When I import this file which has 16 layers (some, which are inside the canvas area of the file and some, which are outside the canvas area of the file) into Premiere CS6, the image is cropped to the canvas size. This makes it so that I cannot view the entire photoshop file and I cannont pan around the image. Does anyone understand what I am trying to do and how to fix this? It is easy to do when going from Photoshop to FCP.

You need to keep everything inside the Photoshop canvas.
If you want to pan around make the PS file twice the size.

  • Change default Premiere Pro CS6 importing of files so it's NOT alphabetical

With Premiere Pro CS5, I was able to import my Photoshop files with multiple layers (shapes, text, images, etc) and they would appear in order of Photoshop organization. For example:
    Layers in Photoshop CS5:
    Logo
    Address
    Main Text
    Background
Importing them into Premiere Pro CS5:
    Logo
    Address
    Main Text
    Background
Notice the order stays the same.
Now that I have purchased CS6, everytime I try to import the layers into Premiere, they are imported alphabetically.
Layers in Photoshop CS6: (still same)
    Logo
    Address
    Main Text
    Background
Importing them into Premiere Pro CS6: (now alphabetical)
    Address
    Background
    Logo
    Main Text
How do I change the default setting so it imports in the same order as Photoshop? I would like this version to be the new default as I use this everyday for work.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    CS6 newbie, CS5 intermediate

In both cases, the PSD imported in the exact order I had it in Photoshop.  I even went back into Photoshop, changed the order, reimported and it came in with the new order.  So unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce the issue.  Which means I have no means to find a cause or test a fix.

  • Editing Faster You Way with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 | Adobe at NAB 2012 | Adobe TV

Join Karl Soule, Business Development Manager at Adobe, as he unveils and demos the exciting new features in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. See how Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 combines incredible performance with a sleek revamped UI, and a host of powerful new creative features, including Warp Stabilizer for stabilizing footage, dynamic timeline trimming, expanded multicam editing, adjustment layers, and more for a fluid workflow.
    http://adobe.ly/HImtcE

    Sleek revamped UI?
Until the UIs across all CS products are consistent, the UI as a whole is a complete failure.
It is astounding how after all these years, the CS products STILL have different UIs and UXs.  Even the way the user accesses basic functions for layers (rename, duplicate, etc.) are not consistent from one app to the next.
So please hold the comments about the UI, other than "We realize we have completely failed, and our different product groups do not care at all about a unified experience across the suite, and each just want to do their own thing.  And nobody in Adobe was willing to beat our groups up to force them to have some consistency.  That is priority #1 for our next release."

  • How does Sony Vegas Pro 12 compare to Premiere Pro CS6?

About 2 months ago, I purchased Premiere Pro CS6 retail box version from Best Buy.  With everything going to the CC, I can't get upgrades unless I join the CC.  This is NOT something I want to do!  I would like to know if the chroma keying and image stabilization in Sony Vegas pro 12 are just as good or similar to Premiere Pro? I already read about how to transfer the product license on the Adobe website.  If I decide to make the switch, I will list my Premiere Pro on Ebay. Another reason why I may want to get Vegas Pro is because I found out about the AVCHD bug in Premiere AFTER I purchased it.  It has been over a year and Adobe has still not fixed the bug. I have a feeling they will never fix the bug because of the new CC vesion.  I am currently about half way through the classroom in a book from Adobe and have not yet edited any of my own videos.  My video camera is a Canon Vixia HF S20 and my computer is a new Dell XPS 8500 with Core i7 and 12 GB of ram. Just a bit frustrated on what to do.  If I can't sell my Premiere Pro for a good enough price, I will keep it and switch to Vegas or some other program after it becomes obsolete.

You can download a fully functional demo of Sony Vegas 12 Pro.  That's what I did.  So far I like it and will be making the switch to Sony Vegas 12 Pro.
They also have Suite version which include HitFilm 2 Ulimate.  This program is like After Effects.  I haven't started playing with that yet.
Also, there is Movie Studio 12 Platinum Visual Effects Suite 2.  That's a mouth full.  Anyhow, it is based on Sony Vegas 12 and it comes with HitFilm 2 Express.  The Express version is a stripped down version of HitFilm 2 Ulimate.  The Express version is still a great program for adding effects.  For some people Movie Studio 12 is all they will need,
Both version, Vegas and Movie Studio, have GPU acceleration which is really nice.
I also just picked up Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate.  It sells for $69.95 and it can open and save .PSD files.  So I don't have to worry about all of the .PSD files I saved in Photoshop
Right now I have CS5 and CS6.  Premiere CS6 has a lot of bug, the AVCHD spanning clips, slow motion that jitters, caching problem, slower exports, etc.

  • Farsi Titles in Premiere Pro CS6

I've seen a few posts that seem to be relevant but offer no conclusion about how to create Farsi subtitles in premiere pro CS6. I've seen many posts about persian font being reversed in adobe software, so that might be my next problem.
Adobe phone support offers no suggestions.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Thanks but no cigar, Joe Bloe. Shortly after post #9 is post #14 in which they conclude that it's not possible to work with arabic subtitles in premiere pro. Adobe tech support was also not able to point them in the right direction.
Here's the conclusion of that thread :
14.Kusumas,Feb 28, 2013 9:01 AM   in reply to Alan Craven
Thanks Alan, Sorry I took a while to repsond - I've just spent 1 hour 18 minutes on the phone with Adobe (their bill).Turns out that what I am asking for is altogether impossible in CS5 (Premiere, PhotoShop Indesign etc.). It is also not possible in PPro CS6 but is possible in Photoshop CS6. So they suggested I spend just short of $1,000 upgrading my Master Collection CS5 to CS6! Other than that, they had no solution for me. On another forum someone suggested importing a .pdf to Photoshop and importing crops of that image into PPro. It works but my word it's laborious! Your suggestion might well work (you are a genius so it's likely) but I do not read Arabic and would not recognise a non-proportional Arabic font if it turned up in my Aphabetti Spaghetti! So, thanks for your input - I'm now a day behind schedule so I'm going to go the PDF / Photoshop route. Wish me luck.
15.Alan Craven,   Feb 28, 2013 9:53 AM   in reply to Kusumas
Sorry I can't help any further, but my exposure to Arabic is zero too - just a flight from the UK to New Zealand and back via Dubai on Emirates.  I had about enough exposure to the safety video in Arabic to recognise some of the spiel in Arabic by the end of the reurn flight!
My dodge with highlighting just the widely spaced characters and turning down (i.e. making nearer to zero), the kerning for those characters alone works for I's etc in English, but I haven't tried it with Arabic.
Good luck, and I hope your patience holds out.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Crashing

I've seen some discussions on this but not on the exact problem I've been having,  which is my Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 always crashes when I'm layering either two videos or two audio tracks on top of each other.  If I stack two files and then scrub, then it immediately crashes every single time. I've never had a problem with CS5.5 when doing such an operation.
    Help!
    Canon 7D Footage
    1080P 24fps
    ESata Externanl HDD
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Core i7
    12 GB ram

I am having a similar issue that I have nailed down to two specific audio tracks.  When I play audio on these particular tracks, which have Compressor and Denoise plugins on the track mixer, I get the crash error.  Understand, the Compressor and Denoise effects are not on the audio itself.  When I move the audio up to the adjacent tracks above, there is no crash or error, but of course, I don't get the effects that I desire.
I solved the problem by right clicking and "Remove Audio Effects..." of which I had a 6 db boost in "Volume".  I made up the gain on the Compressor plugin on the track.
FWIW I also get the "Audio filters missing" pop-up when I open the project.  This stems from me creating audio presets, applying them to files, and then the preset effects are unable to be recalled when I re-open the project.
I am in Premiere cs6 on a 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i5 iMac running OSX 10.8.2 w/ 4 GB of RAM.
    Hope this helps...

  • Importing Photoshop files into premiere pro CS6 issues

    Hi
I recently re-installed Premiere Pro CS6 on my work computer (i changed from a HDD to an SSD). Ever since I did this I am having an issue importing .PSD files into Premiere.
I try and import a photoshop file. The importer window comes up. The progress bar starts to move, then pauses and the Importer says 'Not Responding'. After a few seconds it comes back and throws up the following error:
Error message - 'The importer reported a generic error'
All projects i previously worked on that had .PSD files in them are now reporting these files as 'Media Offline' meaning I have to replace them with .PNG files which is really annoying.
Any ideas what might be happening? The files I am trying to import are RGB .PSD's. They worked previously without any issues.
    I have Premiere Pro Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC: 264587))
running on a Windows 7 machine with Service Pack 1, 64 bit OS, 16GB Ram and Intel Core i7-2600
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this!

Yes, MXF should play perfectly in PP CS6, but if you can't work this out at this point, you may wrap your MXF video to something intermediate. as a matter of face, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 seems to work fine if you import your MXF clips directly from a camera or camcorder, but if have already copied MXF recordings your HDD or you downloaded them from somewhere else, the import error may occur.
So i suggest you convert the MXF footage to something mezzanine we would recommend DNxHD.mov (if you are on a PC) or Apple ProRes .mov (if on a mac). those two intermediate codecs are good mezzanine codecs that handle recompression well and standup well in other areas of post-production (color grading, graphics, compositing, etc,). You can see what I wrote about the solution. "Why Premiere Pro CS6 can't import MXF files?" i hope that it is helpful to you.

  • Premiere Pro CS6: Media Manager Issue

I can´t use Premiere Pro CS6 media manager. It begin analyze project but then come couple error messages. All my graphics files are .psd, all my video files are 4K .r3d and all audio is .wav files. Does Adobe team trying to solve this problem already? • Option for Creating Photshop File in Premiere Pro CS6 is grayed out

Inside of Premiere Pro CS6 (Windows version), when I try to select File > New > Photoshop File...  the option is grayed out.  I have the Project panel selected and have Photoshop CS6 running when I attempt this.  Anyone have any ideas?

Well I appreciate the feedback.  I did solve the problem.  I was very wary of reinstalling software since I have so many 3rd party plug-ins that I would have to reinstall that would take forever.  I notice that in After Effects it has a similar command File > New > Adobe Photoshop file, it was NOT grayed out but errored out when I tried to run it.  It turned out that my Photoshop files were not being recoginized properly in Windows.  The PS icon would not show up in the name column of  Windows Explorer, although the Type woudl be correct.  So if you clicked on a PSD file it would not open in PS unless you opened directly from PS.   So I associated one PSD file in Windows Explorere with Photoshop CS6, which made the ICONS show up which solved all my problems in AE and Premiere.  Easy fix, once you search the entire universe back and forth and think about it for a bit. • Chroma bleeding Premiere Pro CS6

When I edit interlaced video in Premiere Pro CS6 I get chroma bleeding. It seems that the chrominance information is always taken from the other field. I tested the same video with Premier Pro CS5.5 and this problem was not present there.
Premiere Pro CS6 version 6.0.3 and Premiere Pro CS5.5 version 5.5.2 was used.
The footage was taken with Sony HVR-Z1E camera.
The first row of images are from Premiere Pro CS6 that exhibit chroma bleeding. The second row are the same images but from Premiere Pro CS5.5 that does not exhibit chroma bleeding. The third row are crops of the 1st and 3rd images.
I believe that this is a software bug and hope that it wil be fixed. But I would also apriciate a workaround from someone who expierences the same problem.

  • CC wont let me re-download premiere pro CS6! HELP!!

    Hello all,
So i previously had all of the CS6 Family installed on my computer. Something went wrong with Adobe Encore and it wouldnt open so i uninstalled Premiere Pro and Encore CS6.
After un-installing i restarted my computer and opened Creative Cloud.
When looking in the find new apps section to re-download Premiere Pro CS6 i could not find it. I filtered the search and selected previous versions but the only apps it says it has in previous versions in are Bridge, Edge Animate and Gaming SDK.
I checked in the my apps section to double check it was definitely un-installed. I can see Premiere Pro CC but CS6 is not showing up anywhere!
Ive tried looking for other links on the adobe website but it just gives me the option to buy a subscription (which i have already payed for) or download the trial.
Ive looked endlessly on forums for a solution but no joy so far.
I desperately need to get to the bottom of this as i need Adobe Encore for work.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

    Hi,
Please uninstall your creative cloud desktop app and re-download it from the below link:-
Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud for desktop
and then follow the same steps that you have been following.
    Hope that works for you.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 - Project frame won't retain its layout or location between opening and closing?

I filed this as a bug, but perhaps I'm thinking through this wrong and would like to seek help.
I'm finding that the Project frame in Premiere Pro CS6 does not retain its layout between opening and closings.
    Here's what I do:
    1) Open a project.
    2) Create several bins and populate them with media. Expand the contents of a bin by clicking the disclosure triangle to the left of the folder.
    3) Undock the Project frame only.
    4) Close the Project frame with Command-W
    5) Use ****-1 to reopen the Project frame.
Repeat steps 4 and 5. The result is that the Project frame does not remember which bin was open. Furstratingly, it also does not retain which bins were expanded or collapsed.
And worst of all, it will also open in random areas of the screen. (The expected result is that it would reopen in the same spot of the desktop where you last closed it, no?)
I'm a big organizer -- tons of footage across many different bins. I open bins, close them, keep some open, close others... easily dozens or hundreds of times during an edit session. I'm beginnging to feel like I'm swatting flies or playing whack-a-mole just to get my bin views correct!
Or mm I approaching this wrong?

But really, the real solution for me was to not update Premiere Pro CS6 after a reinstall. The most recent updates just do not like my computer, I guess.
Figured I should post this solution here in case anyone in the future has this problem. (relevant: xkcd: Wisdom of the Ancients)

  • How can I re touch the model in Premiere PRO CS6?

    Hello !
I am using Premiere Pro CS6. We are shooting a documentary where i have the host who some pimples, moles etc.
So How can i retouch it and make perfect ?

    Welcome to the forum.
One possible treatment, within PrPro would be to do a Track Matte Key, where a little bit of Blur is added. Once, there was a great tutorial on softening blemishes in skin tone, but it is no longer.
This article covers some of the high-points of the process. The success, and handwork, will depend on how much the host moves about: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4575874#4575874
Because so much can be Keyframed, and limited via Track Matte Keying, one is limited only by their imagination. I would first Duplicate the Clip, add a bit of Blur to that Duplicate, then limit that Blur to just the facial areas with a Track Matte.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - Beyond that, there are some neat tools in After Effects, that go beyond.
