Premiere Pro CS6: GPU acceleration with GeForce GTX 600 series video cards?
Anyone know if Premiere Pro CS6 support GPU acceleration with the new GeForce GTX 600 series video cards?
1 - check the results at http://ppbm5.com/ to see which models are listed
2 - For "some" others, with at least 1Gig of video ram, use the nVidia Hack http://forums.adobe.com/thread/629557 - which is a simple entry in a "supported cards" file

Upgraded to GeForce GTX TITAN Black video card. Everything is too small to read.
Upgraded to GeForce GTX TITAN Black video card and a Samsung 4K monitor, recently. Now, everything in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is too small to read. What can I do to make it readable?
UI scaling for larger displays was just added in the latest CC update, so I don't think there's much you'd be able to do on Premiere's end in CS6. If you're in Windows, you could use the universal scaling in the display control panel, but things might get chunky pretty fast with that.

Performance Problems with GeForce FX 5600 256mb Video Card
I recently purchased the GeForce FX 5600 VTD 256mb video card to replace my old ATi Radeon 8500 64mb card. I'm running an AMD 2800XP+ on an MSI K7N2 Delta-L, with 1gb of PC 2100 on Windows XP Pro.
I installed the latest drivers (from the EGA site) and ran 3DMark 2001 SE. My score for the old card (a 64mb card) was about 9200. My score for the new 256mb card is only 8700. My roommate has a GeForce 4 TI4600 128mb video card. We put his card in my computer, and I scored 11117. According to PCStats.com, the FX 5600 128mb version scored about 11000.
I've tried everything I can think of to ensure my video card is working properly, but I still get low scores. I don't know if I'm missing something somwhere, but there has to be a way to get more performance out of the video card. Can anyone help me out here?Yeah, I've ran the driver cleaner after changing each driver. And I've tried several drivers with the new card. I've even changed the clock settings a bit, which has helped bring the scores up to around 9000. Still way off from the GeForce 4 or the 128mb version of the 5600.

Premiere Pro CS6 and CC with bad quality and incorrect colors in output video
Hi everyone!
I'm frustrated with my results after exporting a video with Adobe Premiere Pro (both CS6 and CC).
The color of the video output is slightly different to the original file (i've checked if it was a problem with my video player, but no, i've tested the video with WMP and others with no success).
Also the video quality is a little bad compared to the original file (i even tried to use frame blending once).
Notice that i'm not using any effects or anything alike, and i'm a begginer in video editing.
These are the parameters from the original video (made by Media Info software):

I'm exporting the video using almost the same parameters from the original file.
Here's a screen shot of my settings in Premiere:
As you can see in the printscreen, the settings only differ from the original file parameters in the bit rate (which i raised a little),
the TV standard (which i have no ideia what it changes), the level of H.264 (which i raised from 4.0 to 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1), and the bit rate encoding (which i've tried using CBR, VBR 1, and VBR 2).
Just for my curiosity...why these numbers in orange are so extensive? I mean, the original video is only 01:35:30:06 in final output (which is correct).
Notice that i do not use key frame distance (as i don't know what it does).
If i'm doing something wrong, please tell me.Well if i do that, the video will raise up GBs larger (and that is really bad).
Why is it really bad?
Its a fact of digital life. High datarate = quality.
example ...even the Youtube preset is in the 8mpbs area.
...and you are exporting 1 hr 35mins of media. -
Premiere Pro CS6 feezes along with the rest of my computer
I'm going to be calling support tomorrow, but I thought I'd give a try here until I do.
My problem is when I use the 'guassian blur' effect on a jpeg file in my video track - the moment I change the blur value or interact with it in anyway the whole system will not respond.
My computer does not register any clicks I make although I can freely move my mouse
My mouse simply remains in the last cursor state before freezing. If it is the normal mouse arrow it will not change when moused over to areas that would normally make it change.
These are all signs showing that there is not more response from my computer at this point.
My only choice at this point is to force shut down my computer by holding down the power button.
I've tried uninstalling Premiere Pro and reinstalling it, the problem presists.
I know I have no errors external errors unrelated to Adobe because my computer was recently clean installed not less than a week ago.
I hope I've been able to explain this bizzare occurance.File a bug report https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

MPE GPU Acceleration with a GTX 480
Hi,
I added the line "GeForce GTX 480" in the cuda_supported_cards.txt file. MPE became available upon doing so. However rendering is faster in software than using the GPU. Did I miss something?I installed the GTX 480, added it to the text file,. Now I have
MPE GPPU available as well as MPE software available. My tests show no difference. The GPU is only used about 7% and my CPU's are still maxed out.

Problem exporting Premiere Pro CS5.5 projects with still photos and h264 video
I'm a longtime Final Cut Pro user and evaluating Premiere Pro for my workplace before making the switch. I have been running into several problems when I try to export raw h264 video from a Canon 5D combined with still images on a Macbook Pro. Either I receive an error in Premiere Pro saying, "Error compiling movie. Unknown error." or Adobe Media Encoder appears to continue exporting (the time elapsed bar continues to move) even though the time remaining stays frozen once it hits a photo it doesn't like. It's not always the same photo.
I've spent several days trying to troubleshoot the issue, including batch resizing all photos to 1920 wide (to match the video settings), and it hasn't work. The sequence is currently set to render in ProRes 422. I've also tried HDV 1080p30 and MPEG-4. I cannot find any consistency with the errors. Occasionally an export will work, but every couple still photos will look like green static. I've also tried batch converting the photos in Photoshop to PNG and GIF without any luck. I'd include my default export settings but I've pretty much tried it all. I'm just trying to figure out what's causing the error since the message is very vague.
Couple other notes:
There's plenty hard drive space available for export
I can export the DSLR video (h264, 1080p30) without still photos no problem
I can edit the same still photos and video in Final Cut with no problem
I have the same problem with auto-save on and off
I tried re-installing production premium, deleting the preference files and cleaning the media cache - no luck. I also tried exporting under a different user account and it wouldn't work.
This is driving absolutely crazy. I'm affraid to use PP on deadline because I don't see any issues until it's time to export. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
- McKennaThanks Todd. Your questions were actually very helpful. I'm using a Macbook Pro with an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics card. I'm running OS 10.6.8 and have the latest updates installed.
When I disabled the GPU acceleration, I was able to render and export without a problem. The problem only occured when using the GPU acceleration and mixing h264 with still photos. It also affected both rendered previews and the final export. I'm assuming its a support issue with the graphics cards, but it would be great if you had any other ideas. I appreciate your help. -
Can I use nvidia geforce gtx 650 2gb video card for after effects?
Hi I saw the list of graphics cards that are compatible with after effects... and am wondering if the nvidia geforce 650 2 gb would work?
I realized all the graphics cards have cuda cores, the gtx 650 2 gb isnt on the list but it has 384 cuda cores?
Is it compatible?
GTX 650 2g:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133474If it's not on the system requirements list, then After Effects won't use it for GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. Read this page for details about what this means:

Premiere Pro CS6 playback freezes, regenerates .pek and .cfa files
When I try to watch something in a sequence, the Program Monitor freezes. The playhead moves in the timeline as usual and the audio plays just fine, but the visual freezes. Sometimes it stops a few seconds after I start playing and sometimes the video never plays at all. When I stop playback, it remains frozen for a while, then resets to the frame the playhead is on.
As I checked different options, I discovered Premiere is regenerating both the .pek and .cfa files every time I open it, even though all of my projects have already conformed. I have it set to store the media files with the project, so I know the preview files have not moved or been deleted. I work on this setup 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and nothing changed since I was in yesterday. It was working fine when I shut it down last night, no one could have logged in while I was gone, and this morning it doesn't work. No updates were installed, no files were moved, no drives switched.
I have searched the internet for help, but all of the forums I've found are at least two months old and recommend installing the 6.0.3 update. I did run updates for all my Adobe software, and it didn't help. I also deleted and re-rendered my peak and cfa files.
One six-month-old forum said that Premiere CS6 cannot playback long AVCHD .m2ts files. Previously I had no problem working with .m2ts files 35 minutes and shorter, or with .mp4 files up to 75 minutes long. The video I'm currently working with is about 75 minutes long. And again, it was working fine yesterday.
Further investigation revealed that playback does not freeze when I import a selection from the Source Monitor (vs. importing from the Bin and trimming in the Timeline) and do not layer clips or apply effects.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Media Spec:
File type: AVCHD Video
Resolution: 1920x1080 (1080p), 29 fps
Imported from camera hard drive using PlayMemories Home
Computer Spec:
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
Windows 7, 64-bit Service Pack 1
Graphics card is Quadro 5000, driver 276.19
OS/boot drive is a solid state 250gig, and files running off a 2TB local hard driveI've tried several more things.
The playback does not freeze if I have only one clip in the timeline.
If I have clips on two or more video tracks, it starts freezing.
Once I clear it down to one video track, it takes a couple of seconds (up to 30) to start playing normally again.
Sometimes I can play two tracks for several minutes before it freezes. Sometimes it freezes immediately.
When I open Premiere, I get the "Media Pending" screen for way longer than usual.
I have rebuilt the peak and cfa files, no difference. GPU accelerator is enabled. The latest Adobe updates are installed.
I see a few other forums with similar problems but no solution.
No settings, file formats, or file locations have changed since Monday (the last time CS6 was working properly). After a lot of digging around I found that a Windows Defender Definition update was installed the morning of the day PP started freaking out. I can't get rid of this update.
I edit two or more hours of footage per day. They are lectures, so they are recorded in 1-3 hour chunks. I use two videos simultaneously--one with the professor's powerpoint presentation, and one of the professor. I keyframe the PPT video into the corner, overlaid over the lecturer. I did this for years without problem in CS5.5 and for two months without problem on my current setup. -
Premiere Pro CS6 serious error has occurred, crash troubleshooting
ERROR MESSAGE: Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project
Problem: Starting last night Premiere would crash with this error message. This has been happening increasingly more over the past couple weeks, but starting last night and today - it has happened so much that I cannot get more than 5 minutes of work done without it crashing. It has happened on saves, renders, playback, switching active timelines, removing the mojo effect from a clip, and while sitting dormant. I’ve had the computer less than a year and hope that it is not a serious problem with my RAM or graphics card.
Using Premiere Pro CS6 - subscription based with latest update installed
SPECS:
MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M 1024 MB
Software: OS X 10.9.1 (updated after problem started)
(nothing external from factory setup in terms of hardware)
Use an External USB 3.0 7200 RPM drive from OWC for project files
Use an External Seagate 3 TB drive for media storage
Using all DSLR footage from Canon 6D, Canon 5D mk II, and Canon 60D and audio from external recorders (.mov, .WAV, .wav files)
Third-party effects or codecs: Use Pluraleyes 3.0 and Mojo color from Red Giant
I realize this is a general error message and there are several forums posted from mostly more than 5 months ago. I cannot seem to find an answer that will help me. Here is what I have already tried:
1. updated to Maverick
2. checked for updates for Adobe software
3. Cleared the Media Cache
4. Switched from CUDA to software only
5. Updated CUDA and switched back to CUDA in premiere
6. Held SHIFT while starting up (nothing seems to happen or pop up on screen at least)
Next:
—Going to uninstall Premiere and reinstall.
Any suggestions or possible fixes are great appreciated. What should my next step be?UPDATE:
STEP 1:
Uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere - worked without crashing for the longest time since yesterday. After 1 hour of running - it crashed once again with same error message and same report (see below).
Same as before:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000
STEP 2:
--Updated the RED GIANT plugin "mojo" (minor coloring software)
This worked for less than 10 mintues and then crashed again - but this time with different exeception details (I'm not sure what these mean)
Crashed Thread: 2
Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000
Application Specific Information:
*** CFRelease() called with NULL ***
STEP 3:
Going off of the idea that it may be the plugin causing the issue (since it needed to be updated) I went into the project and deleted all of the files containing this effect in this project file (note: i have used this for 10+ projects on this computer with no trouble).
I thought it was fixed, from about 8:00 PM - 11:45 PM no crash - then as I was playing back clips - crashed again.
I have been loosely following these guidelines: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html
I am not sure where to go from here - should I continue into the "advanced troubleshooting" even though I'm not sure if any of these things are related.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I have launched two other Premiere Project Files (from previously completed projects) successfully without crashing. I tested a few things in the projects before returning to the problem project. If I suspect there is a problem with the file in particular - how do I find out what is causing the problem?
--I already removed MOJO effects thinking that could be the issue from the last files that were
--I have already gone back to a previous version from a week ago and imported the Sequence I needed. Still crashed.
I have sent 5+ reports to Adobe on the crash. Any feedback into this is much appreciated. -
Will Premiere Pro CC work OK with Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M?
Will Premiere Pro CC work OK with Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M?
This laptop I am on right vnow has a n nVidai GTX 765M and it works beautifully on Premiere CS6, CC and CC 2014. You do have to add it to the Adobe file "cuda_supported_cards.txt file or simp[ly delete it. I hope you know that you have to be plugged in to the AC line to successfully what to edit with a laptop. Also you can improve the GPU performance if you reset the memory clock on the GPU to 1500 MHz from the default 1000 MHz. It is because nVidia.slows down the clock to conserve battery. If you register on the site you can see my results on our Premiere Pro BenchMark (PPBM) site.

Premiere pro CS6 and GeForce GTX 560 compatibility
Good morning, I would like to ask a question about the compatibility of my GPU (GeForce GTX560 2GB DDR5 Zotac) with the acceleration engine of Premiere Pro. When I create a project, in the settings project section, at general, at the "Rendering" voice, is indicated "Only Software Mercury Playback Engine" and I cannot choose anything from this menu. So I would like to understand if my GPU is compatible with the Playback Engine or not. Sorry for my basic english, I'm italian and the Adobe site has linked me this forum for the questions about Premiere CS6 software. I would buy a book about Premiere Pro CS6, but it will be useless if my gpu is not compatible with the engine acceleration.
If it's important to know for the reply, I have 16 gb RAM and an intel i7-3820 (sandy bridge) processor. The motherboard is a Sabertooth X79 S2011.
Thank you so much for the reply, byeWelcome to the forum!
Delete or move the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file out of the Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 folder. When you restart Premiere Pro, your GTX560 will use accelerated GPU playback.

Imac Graphics cards with Premiere Pro cs6
Hello
I just changed over to Premiere Pro cs6 from avid and fcp 7/x. I am already sure i made the right decision. I love the interface, i really love it! and cant wait to get stuck into it properly.
I just bought a brand new, all singing all dancing 27 inch imac full spec 32gb RAM with a NIVIDA Geforce GTX 680MX 2048mb card. However pro cs6 by default is using the “Mecuary playback engine sofware only” instead of the “Mecuary playback engine Acceleration [CUDA] and i cant change it. Does it cs6 not support this card and if so will it in the future?
Any help would be greatly apericated!
Kind regards
PhilipHi Paul
You mention last week that you had the same problem as me with your new iMac and graphics card with cs6.
I was just onto Adobe and they told me that they could not assist.
Can you tell me who you death with?
I am really keen to get this card running!

Is it possible to put photos back onto Camera Roll.
This will sound silly but I updated my phone yesterday and was having trouble syncing with my pc. So i took all the Photos from the camera roll and saved them on my desktop. However, upon updating I have noticed 2 things : I now have seperate folders
