Premiere pro cs6 hangs when media browser search for BVAP folder (from sony EX3 camera)

what do i need from opening these files?

Im have the exact same issue with the importing or P2 files and premere crashing/ hagingup, i on the other hand have been using adobe for over 4 years and never had this issue, i still have CS5 on comp and there are no problems there, kinda silly i cant use CS6 for work....
so what did you exactly do to fix issue??
also i know exactly what porblem u are running into with the aspect ratio problems, been an issue for as long as i have been working with adobe premere and HVX, and i can help u there, simply dont use DVCproHD sequence if you are going to DVD just do a DV widscreen sequence and all the ratio problems will fix when u go to encore. or use DVCproHD sequence but drop the entire sequence you worked on into a DV widscreen sequence or an HDV sequence and resize acordingly (make lager or smaler so fits properly in 16/9) the problem is some of the P2 cameras are not a true 16/9 there like 15/9 or somthing, its odd, anyway thats what i do, it doesnt really ad much time and it workes
Dear adobe plp if you read this, then you know about problem importing, whatever he did dosnt seem like you should have to do that... any questions feel free to contact me.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Hangs When Importing .mov

    Hi,
For a few days now I have been trying to import an hour long clip into Premiere Pro CS6. Usually this takes only a few seconds, but lately it has been hanging. It is stuck on a little window saying "Import Files" and the yellow progress bar doesn't appear. I don't know if this has anything to do with the recent update I installed to my Production Premium applications or if it may be my new Blackmagic drivers that messed it up. I have tried waiting out the long import by leaving it on overnight and it has still not fixed it. I even uninstalled Premiere and reinstalled it. Any help would be appreciated.
The codecs of the video are H.264, AAC
    I am also running Mac OS X 10.7.5 on a mid-2011 iMac

My machine is also hanging in the same fashion.   Very, very frustrating when you have editing work to do.  If I reboot, I seem to be able to import a few files but then the next one hangs.
I'm trying to import mov files from my Canon 5d Mark III.
I updated my video driver (that needed to be done anyway) but that didn't make any difference.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashing when making edits

I everyone. I migrated to Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (I need to finish a couple of project before I can update the computer to CC and Mac OS 10.8.) and it's been crashing right from the begining. It's a random crash but my impression that it becomes more probable as the projects grow.
It happens whenever I'm editing and I press the shortcut for "overwrite" or "insert". (It also happens when I press the icon or move the clip to the timeline)
The screen message I get is this one:
The log message that I get afterwards goes as follows:
On previous days, I've been able to keep working just by deleting the Media database preview files from Premiere but it's not working anymore.
I'm working with XMF files shot with a Canon C300 synced using premiere to sound files (.wav). It only happens when I try to edit but it doesn't matter if I try to edit sound, sound and image or just image.
What it doesn't make sense is that it says something about "dynamic lynk" and, as far as I know, I'm not using dynamic link at all.
Thanks in advance for your time and wisdom

Now, a few updates after a very long night (just in case it might  help somebody)
Up until last night, I was saving my Premiere Projects in a Dropbox Folder inside my computer. It was a quick safe way of having a backup copy. Well, it seems that the crash is somehow related. Don't ask me why but once I moved the project file to a regular hard drive (actually a RAID0 where I keep my heavier files) the crashes have stopped.
This morning I went back to the dropbox idea with a new project and -Voilá!- after three hours of work, it crashed again. I moved the file to the RAID disk and no more crashes. My guess is that it is somehow related to the auto-save files that premiere keeps saving. Once it reaches a certain amount (around 20 in my experience) dropbox and Premiere start to do something weird and they crash the software... (It might be related to the software dropbox uses to keep your folders updated and keep backup versions of everything)
I'll run a few tests next week trying to keep the Auto-save files out of dropbox and just the regular files there to see what happens.
    Best regards
    Jaime

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashing when importing HDV Video

For some reason I keep getting crashes when importing HDV (720p60) video into the timeline of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.  This has happened on two different machines, with similar specs.
Per the suggested guidelines, here are the specifics:
    Version of Premiere Pro: CS6, Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC:264587))
    All updates have been installed.
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.8.5.
Source footage: HDV 720p60 video in .MOV container.
Full text of error message: "Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down.  We will attempt to save your current project."
Link to full crash report: http://goo.gl/Gn8Bzn
Crash occurs when trying to import HDV .MOV file.
This is a consistent problem when importing .MOV files of this type.
Complete Adobe Creative Suite is installed.  Also using Episode Pro encoding software from Telestream to prepare HDV video.  No other external video hardware or codecs installed.
Yes, I am using the Mecury Playback Engine GPU acceleration.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure this one out.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 not locating media, freezing

For the last couple of days, Premiere Pro on my laptop (15" Apple Retina MacBook Pro, 12gb ram, 2.7GHz i7 - USB 3.0 Lacie drive) has been having trouble locating media. When I open a project, the "Locating Media" diologe shows the progress bar start moving, then stop and not move again. Hitting "Cancel" makes the pinwheel of patience come up. When I use the "Command + Option + ESC" command, Premiere Pro CS6 is not shown as "Not Responding". Force quitting the app and restarting the computer doesn't do anything to change this behavior.
Would appreciate any guidence on how to remedy this.

    Good Day,
I am using Premiere Pro CS6 and I have been been doing metalogging for my film. I am having this issue of locating media when I changed my project over from a failing hard drive to a new one, I left the project on OVERNIGHT to locate media and its in the same spot. With such metalogging I have only been changing the names and descriptions of the files in the bin and I have a good few days work done on it. Is there any way to save the integrity of that bin without having to start an entirely new project over and start from scratch. This is most annoying.
I don't believe I have any corrupt rendered files, perhaps its a corrupted video?
Any help would be appreciated as I see no fix or announcement has come up for this problem yet.

  • Premiere pro cs6 capture settings/media offline

I'm trying to capture footage from my Sony HDV camera to Premiere pro cs6. After capturing it shows up in my project as an mp3 file and when I transfer to the timeline it says media offline. Can anyone please help?? When I import a file from cs5 project it says media offline also. When I import say an .flv file it works fine. I have matched the capture setting to that of cs5 so I'm rather confused...

To restore default preference settings and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. Release the Shift-Alt keys or Shift-Option key when the splash screen appears.
Try if this works. It is weird that this happens. I have never had it with CS5+/6 both with Win7 and Win8.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Crashes When Dragging

Trying to edit in PP CS6 and keep getting this error every time I drag files.
"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
This happens every time I try to drag any footage. Regardless of files or locations.
I'm working (at least trying to) on a Mac Pro (Mid 2012) running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.
    Processor- 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory- 16GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics- ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB
The Adobe applications manager says everything is up-to-date and I've tried everything I can think of.
    Restarting computer.
Testing different video files in the project (happens with all)
Moving files to a different drive
Creating a new project on a different drive
Opening old project with footage that worked before.
No luck with anything.  Any help is greatly appreciated! I've got deadlines to meet and no backup computer!

Hi, did you get anywhere with this? I am having a similar issue in Premiere Pro CC 2014.
    The issue is as follows:
If I try to drag a clip, sequence, effect or transition ANYWHERE within the program, it will crash - with the serious error message. In order to 'reset' this, I HAVE to restart my machine. Once I have done so, I can continue editing as normal for a while (up to an hour, or so) but eventually, it WILL crash again.
The crash ONLY happens when drag something... This can include moving a clip on the timeline, dragging a clip form the source viewer or project window, dragging an effect or transition.
The crash happens after I have clicked, as soon as I start to move my mouse.
I CAN click and drag to extend in and out points on the timeline, and I can do 'insert' edit using the button on the source monitor. The footage plays fine.
I am trying this on a CLEAN OS X install, with only Adobe packages installed, to eliminate any potential of interference from other programs. There are no third party plugins or drivers installed.
My system is: Macbook Pro 2011, 16GB Ram, 1tb SSD, OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. Intel Graphics card, so no option to turn on or off hardware acceleration. It is set to software only.
I have tested this with projects and footage on an external drive, same issue.
I have been using the system on Mavericks and had no problems. I'm guessing it was either the update to Yosemite (I have reinstalled from scratch numerous times to rule out any errors during installation), OR a recent change to Premiere.
Interestingly, I have noticed that once this crash has occurred in Premiere, a similar problem will occur in After Effects. Again, until the machine is restarted.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

  • Premiere Pro CS6 crashing when trying to export

Trying to export a video in PP CS6 and keep getting this error:
"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
This happens no matter if I try to export AppleProRes or H264 or whatever)
I'm working  on a new MacBook Pro   running OS X  10.9.5
Processor- 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory- 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
I've tried everything you normally do like:    restart - reinstall software - creating new project - trying different material - ....
AND: I also checked Video Rendering and Playback (Mercury Playback Engine) : It's set to "Software Only" and greyed out.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I have to finish that #### movie until tomorrow :-(
    THANK YOU!

    Sorry - forgot some details:
    Premiere Pro Version: 6.0.5
Software is installed on a brand new computer. On the old one it ran without problems, on the new one I can work with Premiere without problems but I cannot export anything.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Crashes when exporting H264 files

I shot a video with Canon 5D Mark III (1080p) and edited a 4 minute video which I am trying to export as an H264 file. I used the preset for Vimeo 29.97, 1080. But every time the export stops half way and premiere Crashes. I tired 5,6 times and each time it workds for 2-3 hours before crashing. It actually succeeded once but the audio had some issues. After that I could not export again! Any suggesions?
I am using a Mac book Pro 15 inch, mid 2009, 8gb ram, running Mountain Lion and have the latest updates for Premiere installed.
    Thanks

Try deleting all previous instances and partially-exported versions of the file.  Then open a different Premiere Pro project (it doesn't matter which one; even a new project will do).  Go to Edit>Preferenes>Media and click on the Clean button.  Close Pr, open your problem project and try to export again.

  • Premiere Pro v6.0.3 won't accept drag & dropped files from Sony's XDCAM Browser v2.1

Premiere Pro reports a "generic file import" error when I try to drag & drop my video files (.mxf) from Sony's XDCAM browser directly into Premiere Pro project window.  However, I can drag & drop the same file(s) directly from a file folder on my computer and I can also use the "file import" from Premiere Pro drop down menu to import the same files with no problems.
Also, I can successfully drag & drop video files (.m2ts) from Sony's Content Management Utility into Premiere.
But why can't I drag and drop the same files (.mxf) directly from my Sony XDCAM Browser.   It appears to me that my issue is related specifically to XDCAM Browser & the .mxf files it supports (note:  Sony's Content Management Utility does support .mxf files so I can't simply use that Utility).
    Windows 7, 64bit

I try to drag & drop my video files (.mxf) from Sony's XDCAM browser directly into Premiere Pro project window.
You need to use the Media Browser within Premiere
    to import these files.
Copy the entire contents of the media card to an internal drive first.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 won't recognize alpha channel in .tiff file from photoshop

    Hey Everyone,
I'm new to Premiere Pro, but I have used Final Cut Pro 6-7. Anyway, I created a 3D text design in Photoshop to use on top of another photo in a video in Premiere. In Photoshop, the alpha channel appears fine. In Premiere Pro it is not recognized. Instead, a white background appears where the alpha channel should be. When I layered the 3D text on top of a photo (in Premiere Pro), the white still appears around the 3D text design. After I imported the file, I did click on the .tiff file and clicked on modify---->interpret footage----->alpha channel (where I deselected ignore alpha channel). Premiere Pro still does not recognize the alpha channel. Should I convert the Photoshop file to another format or is there something I'm not doing? I'm spending more time trying to figure this out than I am on putting this short video/photo slide show together. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Thanks Ann!!! Seriously, you just saved me hours of aggravation. I didn't know I had to select that in Photoshop. I was under the impression that Adobe product files were seamless.

  • Media Browser: Search for files?

So I've got a bunch of sound effects in different folders. Now I'm looking for a certain sound and it'd be great if I could search for it in Audition. Now I know there is a search bar, but I'd have to drag ALL the SFX in in order for it to work.  Is there a way to search for files in the media browser? Thanks.

Have you found a solution to this?  I'm wondering about this, too.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 freezing when markers are right clicked in the Source Monitor

When I right-click a clip marker in the Source Monitor, Premiere takes 100% of a CPU core and just hangs until I Force Quit it. This is on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Has anyone seen this before or know how to fix it? It's a blocker for me... I can't get much work done like this.
Here's a sample of the frozen thread: http://pastebin.com/Uce7qCzQ. It seems to be stuck in HandlerSourceMonitor::SourceMonitorView::OnChapterMarkerStatus.

You're absolutely right. To clarify, this happens on the entire area and also the "Marker" menu at the top of the screen.
I managed to work around the problem after a few hours, once I realised some clips were not showing this problem.
    1) Identify problem clips (by watching Premiere crash).
    2) Re-open Premiere and put the clip in the Source Monitor.
    3) Make a note of any markers in the clip.
    4) Press ⌥⌘M to clear markers without opening the menu.
    5) Re-add markers manually.
That seems to have done the trick of cleaning out any "bad" markers. Thanks for your help!
