Premiere Pro CS6 Issues with AJA and Black Magic

Has anyone had any issues outputting via AJA and Black Magic cards?
I have 3 Macs using Black Magic Intesnsity Pro HDMI cards and 1 Mac using an AJA IO Express. On all the machines, i get weird audio issues intermitantly. I press play, no audio comes out. I stop, press play again, no audio comes out but the PP VU meter is registering. I stop, and press play again, and i hear distortion coming from my speakers, i stop and play again, and everything is fine. These issues are consitantly happening, but not necisarily in that order. I also get out of sync audio, then stop and press play again, and its all good.
I fell as though i have narrowed it down to being between PP and the IO cards, because if i turn the cards off in PP, my audio is fine everytime.
I have the propper Premiere Pro drivers (for AJA) and all the latest firmware and drivers for black magic. I am playing Quicktime media, usually Apple Pro Res hq or 444. IO and data rate with same codecs works perfectly in FCP. I have also tried using media that is local as opposed to on our server.
Has anyone had issues with this? Is this a known bug with in PP? Will it ever get fixed???
Thanks.

I have expereinced this issue on my Mac Pro right before I switched to a PC.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 issue with AME/Dynamic Link

    Hello,
I'm having a quite frustrating problem with Premiere PRO CS6. Let me tell you my configuration first:
    Intel i7 860, 8Gb Ram, 2x1Tb HD in Raid 0, GeForce GTX570 Ti 2Gb DDR5, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
When I try to put in the AME's queue any Premiere's composition, I can see the window saying "Exporting...." but then nothing happens. AME doesn't start or, if it's already open, it doesn't receive anything on the queue.
I've tried to import the timeline's directly from AME, but it doesn't work either.
It has been a few days I'm fighting with this problem and I already have done this:
    1) Uninstall/Clean Install all the software inside the Creative Cloud subscription and all updates applied.
    2) clean any preset both in Premiere and AME by keeping down Alt+Shift when starting the applications.
    3) disable/enable antivirus software (Microsoft Security Essentials) and firewall (default windows 7 firewall).
    4) disable/enable the CUDA Mercury engine.
None of this solved the problem.
However I've noticed that each time I try to send something from Premiere to AME appears a general error in notifications saying just "invalid menu operation".
Since, as I've said, I tried also a clean installation, right now I'm really out of options and I would really appreciate any suggestion how to fix this problem. Thanks.
    Martin

That has solved a few annoying Dynamic Link problems for me.
As a point of interest, the connection between Premiere Pro and AME isn't a Dynamic Link.  It's more of a 'static' link.  The point of a Dynamic Link is that any changes made in the original program will show up in the secondary program.  That does not happen here.  The sequence is 'saved' from PP as it is at the time the export is started and AME works off of that saved sequence.  Changes made after that do not show up in AME automatically.
So whatever the error, it is not related to Dynamic Link.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 issues with .MOV files

I am having problems with .MOV files from my Nikon 5100.
They play very choppy.  Multicam REALLY has issues with the .MOV files as it will play ten frames and freeze.  Usually crashing Premiere altogether.
Anyone know how to optimize my system to play these .MOV files so the can be worked with?  I've updated my videocard firmware and Quicktime.

Anyone know how to optimize my system to play these .MOV files so the can be worked with?
The logical steps would probably be:
    Get a better PC
Don't use QuiRcktime but rename the .MOV file to .MPG
Tune your system. Also for Win7: Adobe Forums: Guide for installing and tuning a Vista...

    Hi,
I just wrote a blog post about how smart rendering works in Premiere Pro CS6 (6.0.1, and later). Let me know if you have any questions.
    Blog post is here.

  • Right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6, video with still images

I am trying to run a video on my website (self hosted). This video, made with Premiere Pro CS6, consists of still images with different video effects.
This video is only 50 seconds, but when I transform this in the ogg, webm and mp4 format, I obtain file with large size and the quality is not good.
Could you please guide me to find out the right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6 to obtain a video for the best possible quality on the web?
A precise description of the settings would be awesome.
    Thank you
    Silvia

Make the export setting the resolution you want to use on the web.
Make the sequence settings accordantly to these export settings

  • Importing Photoshop files into premiere pro CS6 issues

    Hi
I recently re-installed Premiere Pro CS6 on my work computer (i changed from a HDD to an SSD). Ever since I did this I am having an issue importing .PSD files into Premiere.
I try and import a photoshop file. The importer window comes up. The progress bar starts to move, then pauses and the Importer says 'Not Responding'. After a few seconds it comes back and throws up the following error:
Error message - 'The importer reported a generic error'
All projects i previously worked on that had .PSD files in them are now reporting these files as 'Media Offline' meaning I have to replace them with .PNG files which is really annoying.
Any ideas what might be happening? The files I am trying to import are RGB .PSD's. They worked previously without any issues.
    I have Premiere Pro Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC: 264587))
running on a Windows 7 machine with Service Pack 1, 64 bit OS, 16GB Ram and Intel Core i7-2600
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this!

Yes, MXF should play perfectly in PP CS6, but if you can't work this out at this point, you may wrap your MXF video to something intermediate. as a matter of face, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 seems to work fine if you import your MXF clips directly from a camera or camcorder, but if have already copied MXF recordings your HDD or you downloaded them from somewhere else, the import error may occur.
So i suggest you convert the MXF footage to something mezzanine we would recommend DNxHD.mov (if you are on a PC) or Apple ProRes .mov (if on a mac). those two intermediate codecs are good mezzanine codecs that handle recompression well and standup well in other areas of post-production (color grading, graphics, compositing, etc,). You can see what I wrote about the solution. "Why Premiere Pro CS6 can't import MXF files?" i hope that it is helpful to you.

  • Is Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 compatible with Yosemite?

I'm considering buying a copy of premiere pro cs6 as I prefer a copy that I can use forever without a subscription to CC and also be able to use without an internet connection as I am mostly without internet. I just recently updated my iMac to Yosemite. I'm curious if I can install a new copy of Premiere Pro cs6 onto Yosemite? Also, if not does Adobe plan to update Premiere Pro CS6 and keep it compatible with Apple's new OS releases? Or will they only be focusing on the CC apps?

It is unlikely  that CS6 will get any updates. I beliee that has been answered/ advised by Adobe
Someone else may answer from experience if CS6 plays nicely with Yosemite

  • Audio sync drift issues within Premiere Pro CS6, even with 48kHz project & source material?

Evening guys and Merry Christmas to those who follow the tradition. I'm currently doing a few last minute tweaks to a live dance show that I recently shot. The show featured music that was recorded in camera (via additional mic) from the speaker setup within the theatre. This was always intended as a guide track as the original music would then be synced in the edit to give a cleaner sound to the audio during the dance sequences. I have the original CD that the music was played from on the night, however when the files are imported into Premiere Pro (or even Audition), they sync for the first 10 seconds or so and then gradually drift out of sync as the track goes on.
My project is set to 48.000 audio, which was what the original footage was shot at, as well as the audio tracks being imported as 48.000 too. Now on paper there should not be any issues with this sync drift occuring right? I've even tried with 44.100 audio files and naturally they drift out of sync.
At a loss here really as I'm not sure where i'm going wrong. Can anyone shed any light on this situation please?
    Thanks!

  • Premiere Pro CS6 extreme project bloating and Media Encoder

    Hi there,
I'm interested in hearing if others are having this issue and if there's a fix.  I first noticed this bug in CS5 and it hasn't changed in CS6.0.1.  An editor I'm working with recently discovered the problem at the expense of a project being usable the day before clients are coming in to work on cuts.
Here's what's happening: we have a 20MB commercial project, no warp stabilizer in play, no frequent "save as..." commands being used, both of which seem to contribute to project bloating based on some online research.  I've been using Premiere as a finishing timeline since CS5 and noticed back then, when we were making some settings in Media Encoder, that when you click and drag sequences into ME instead of using the "Add Premiere Pro Sequence" menu option, the Premiere project file size quickly increases and saves and autosaves start taking several minutes to complete.
We've been using the "Add Premiere Pro Sequence" method to send things to ME on this project but the editor was getting impatient the amount of time it was taking for ME to load the project and get to the point where he could pick which sequences he wanted to encode.  He did a bit of research and found the click and drag method to be faster.  After a handful of times using this method, the project size went from 20MB to 3.71GB.  Our autosave folder is set keep 5 versions of the project and you can see the project size doubling from 477MB to 840MB to 1.6GB.
I was able to import the 477MB project into a new project and save it out at its original size of 20MB.  However, this meant that we lost about 90 minutes worth of work.  I tried to import the 3.71GB file overnight and it had made no progress when I came in this AM.
Reading online, I found that the "Save As..." command had previously caused some kind of duplication of preview file links in the project code.  I opened up our 20MB project in TextWrangler and compared it to the 840MB project's lines of code.  The 20MB project had 400k lines and the 840MB project had about a million.  The difference appeared to stem from links to Preview files.  I wanted to try to clear those out to see if I could get the project size down but, probably because of the file size, TextWrangler crashed.
Is there any way to clean out the bloat from these projects without importing into a new project?  Also, are there settings in Media Encoder or Premiere that will prevent the bloat from happening when using the click-drag method of getting sequences into ME?  We're using the "Use Preview Files" option, which greatly speeds up the compression in ME, but might be contributing to the issue.
    Here are the machine specs:
    Mac Pro 2.66 GHz 12-core
    16GB RAM
    NVidia Quadro 4000
    ATTO Fibrechannel card
    Blackmagic Design Decklink Extreme 2
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
    Best,
    Jon

    Thank you for your response.
-I tried exporting an AVI and the file exported succesfully but with a warning "Adobe Media Encoder Could not write XMP data in output file." The file plays fine though and is over 5.5GB. So that's odd that my h.264 which is under 1GB won't fully export.
-Yes, the same thing happens when exporting directly from PrPro instead of using AME.
-In this project I am using NO Dynamic Links.
-I have not installed any codec libraries.
    -I do not use 3rd party plug-ins.
-My destination drive has several terabytes.
    Thanks,
    Nate

  • Premiere Pro Audio Slipping with AJA Kona LHI

I have noticed that when I run Premiere Pro CC (Latest updates) My audio playing back on the Kona and on the desktop will progressively slip out of sync when my Kona LHI card is enabled through the video output options. The sync issue goes away when the card is unchecked. The initial release of PRCC did not have this problem, but when the updates were issued soon after, the slipping issue cropped up. Anybody have these problems? Any suggestions?

I realize this is a year old but was this issue resolved?
For what its worth I've had/have similar problems with Premiere Pro CC and the AJA Kona LHi card. Just call AJA support 1-530-271-3190 and speak to their tech support gurus. Their folks are awesome. I just tell them what I'm trying to do and they will stay on the line and help until you can get things running again. No fees for customer support, nothing to register for... just call them and ask for help and they will!
I wish more companies operated this way.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashes with not finding a capable play module on a windows desktop with a AMD Radeon R9 200 series board.

I installed Premiere Pro CS 6.0 on a brand new system.
    Win 8.1,
i7 3.4 GHz on an Asus Sabertooth
    16 Gig memory
AMD Radeon R9 290 Graphics Board with the latest drivers and Bios.
On starting Premiere I get the (as I noticed quite frequent appearing) error message that Premiere cannot find a capable play module and the suggestion to update my video drivers.
I tried everything I found in this forum or on the web:
    Installed the latest drivers
Run the program as an administrator
    Updated the Graphics board Bios
    Updated Premiere CS6
Started Gpusniffer in CMD-mode to find out what board it found and added that to the cuda_supported_cards.txt in the Premiere directory.
All to no avail. The app will simply not start.

As I invested a lot in the CS6 Master Collection I am not considering an update tot the CC version, also because the same problem occurs in that version too.
I would be much obliged if someone has an answer that truly will work.  This problem costed me the best part of two days’ work and fouled up my workflow considerably.

    ==========
I tried to go into display settings and disable the Intel card. (this caused low resolution which is unexceptable)
    ==========
This makes me think it's using that graphics "card" ( probably built into mobo ? ...called 'onboard graphics ? )
This stuff gets tricky and sometimes the only way to make windows 'recognize' the pci graphics card is to actually take it out and boot, and then put it back in...
Then you get mssg " windows detected new hardware" and you install the drivers...
usually bios gives you choice of using onboard graphics or not ( but this too is wanky sometimes...sorry to say ...)
I recently ( this past year ) had a similar sort of situation but have a desktop, where its easy for me to take off side panel and pull the pci-e graphics card and boot, and get that horrible low res default screen...turn off, install card, reboot etc...
but anyway, it sounds to me like you're notebook is using that mobile graphics driver stuff and not the radeon. Somehow you've got to make it switch to that graphics card is maybe your solution.
sorry I dont have notebook but maybe someone else here does and can help more...
    good luck.
ps..its always a weird fact of life...when things aren't working 'right' something has to get done fast....
    edit:
I dont know how much you know about windows stuff, but after you disable that intel thing and get your low res screen.. you DID try to update the driver for that card using 'my computer / device manager  '   right ??

  • Is Premiere Pro CS6 compatible with Windows 8? Adobe let me download a 7Z type file but I cant do anything with it.

I am trying install Premier Pro CS6 on Windows 8 so I can extract Adobe Encore. This is a little ridiculous. What do I do with this 7Z type file? I have tried downloading a 2nd party installer app but no luck.

adobe 7z files are paired (file 1 of 2 and file 2 of 2) with matching exe files.  both should be placed in the same directory and the exe clicked (or double clicked).

  • Premiere Pro CS6 playing video but showing black screen?

I recently installed Debut video capture software and installed some codecs for it. I recorded some videos and imported them to premiere. When I put it in the sequence and press play, it just shows a black screen, but the sounds play. I played it in photoshop and vlc fine but not premiere pro. Also, I opened a project i've been working on before the video capture install and it plays the sound but shows a blank preview. It worked fine before. How can I fix this? Do I reinstall premiere, or reset something?

    Welcome to the forum.
What CODEC is used by your capture software?
    What CODEC's did you install?
Were those recently installed CODEC's in a free CODEC "pack," and if so, which one please?
    Good luck,
